Monday
In the Kiriakis living room, Hope looked over the photo of the Celtic symbol found on Brady. Ciara came running in. Hope was surprised she was awake. Ciara was smiling and Hope asked what made her so happy. "You did. When we had our talk," replied Ciara. Hope was confused. Before Ciara could repeat the conversation, Justin came in. Hope brought Ciara up to bed, but asked Justin to stay behind so they could talk. Hope opened up to Justin that Ciara was making things up and feared Ciara had created a fantasy mother to give her what she needs. Justin was concerned for Hope, noting she didn't seem like herself anymore. Hope admitted that she felt as though her life had veered off course when Ciara was kidnapped. He reminded her that he had feelings for her, but she said she needed more time and had to work on the case. Justin urged her to go to bed and look things over with a clear mind in the morning. Justin took off. Hope popped a pill.
Arianna asked Nicole why she was stealing stemware from the Pub. Nicole claimed she was doing a story about stealing from restaurants. Ari didn't think it was a good idea. Nicole didn't care. The women bickered. Nic's biggest fan, Kinsey, approached and asked Ari to stop making a scene. Nicole left and transferred Ari's fingerprints from the glass onto a flashlight. She then called Dr. Baker and told him that she had everything she needed to throw suspicion on Ari as the mugger. She wanted it done that night. He wasn't sure his contact would call.... At the Kiriakis manse, Nighttime Hope got dressed and headed out.
At Java Café, Brady asked Sami if she was still "jonesing" for EJ. She said she would want to be with Rafe if she could, but she didn't even know where he was.... Arianna and Brady met up after. They had a heated argument about Nicole. Ari hurried out, nearly running over Kinsey in the process.
EJ and Stefano were concerned when they didn't hear from Anna at the appointed time. EJ worried that Rafe had tracked her down. The men argued. EJ called a contractor to work on Sami's house. Stefano didn't understand why, since EJ had Sami under his own roof. A defeated EJ felt he couldn't do her any more harm. Will came in and overheard part of the conversation. EJ later spoke to Will about forgiving Sami. She entered during their chat. EJ excused himself. Sami and Will had a civil exchange, which pleased her. She told EJ about it after. EJ pointed out that Will loves her and he couldn't keep the feud going forever. Johnny came running in with Will in tow. The group decided to play a friendly game of poker. After, EJ admitted that he threw his DiMera name around to get the contractors to work on the townhouse. He also offered to pay for it. Sami was touched.
Rafe pressed Anna to finally come clean. She tried to turn things around and plant the seed in Rafe's head that EJ was working on getting Sami back while Rafe was sniffing around Anna. He got the conversation back on track, but Anna stalled by calling for her dinner. Anna tried to slip out when it came, but Rafe caught her and brought her back to her room. He tried to assure her that he would keep her safe if she just told the truth. She said she would, but wanted to eat first. During the meal, she wanted to talk terms. She explained she was used to a certain lifestyle and wanted to keep it. Rafe lost his patience. Anna was about to give up the name when suddenly she started to cough.
Tuesday
Sami got the kids to bed, then joined EJ in the living room. He was distracted and explained that he had a feeling something was wrong. Sydney began to cry, so Sami left to tend to her. She brought the restless baby downstairs. EJ was able to get her to sleep, which impressed Sami. She admitted that she was jealous of the time he had with Sydney when she was a baby. "I feel like such a newcomer in her life," she explained. EJ assured her she would build a relationship with their daughter. She brought up how much damage Nicole had done with the baby switch and vowed to kill whoever was working with Anna. EJ told her that someday Sydney would know she had the best mother alive. Sami was touched. Cue the close moment. They went to check on their daughter together.
In her hotel room, Anna began to choke before she could reveal who masterminded Sydney's kidnapping. She then passed out. At first, Rafe thought she was faking, then called for help. He realized she was poisoned by the room service food. He brought a sample to the hospital to be tested. The doctor confirmed that Anna was poisoned with a rare and usually fatal serum. Rafe urged him to try and keep Anna alive.... Stefano got an update about Anna's condition and was pleased to learn things were under control. He apologized to Tony's memory for harming Anna, though.
Arianna and Brady argued at Java Caf, then she stormed off. He called her to try and work things out, but she didn't pick up.
Nicole pressed Dr. Baker to spill the name of his accomplice. Hope arrived and kept hidden to listen. Baker kept mum. Nicole took off. She ran into Roman at Java Caf and tried to pump him for info on the muggings. He wouldn't spill. Brady overheard their conversation, in which Nicole apologized for what she did to Sydney. "Too little, too late," Roman told her, then issued a warning. Stung, Nicole joined Brady and implored him to never turn his back on her. He couldn't reply, then left. Kinsey approached Nicole and blabbed all about Ari and Brady's fight earlier. Nicole was happy to have the info. She called Ari, who was in her room at the Pub and about to go to bed. Ari wasn't in the mood to talk and cut the conversation short.
Back at the poker spot, Hope turned on Baker, demanding to know why he agreed to frame Arianna for the muggings. She refused to let him go through with Nicole's plan. He covered that he was just humoring Nicole and had no intention of framing Ari H. Nicole quickly called Baker and told him Ari was home and had no alibi. Hope then informed him their next victim was ripe for the picking.... Nicole headed chez Kiriakis, acting all concerned about Arianna and told Brady about it. He revealed they had an argument. Nic acted surprised. Brady called Ari, but her phone was turned off.
Roman locked up at the Brady Pub. When he went outside, Hope attacked him from behind.
Maggie got a call that Alice wasn't feeling well. She opened up to Mia about what was going on. Mia suggested they bake cookies to bring over to Alice. Maggie asked Mia why she was cutting school. Mia revealed she planned to quit school and go to New York to dance. Maggie asked if it was about Chad, but Mia insisted it wasn't. She said she needed to get away from the bad memories in Salem and start a new life. Maggie urged her to finish school.
Wednesday
At the Cheatin' Heart, Nathan approached Stephanie and kissed her from behind. Nathan stopped drinking because she's tired of having the headaches. Meanwhile, at home, Melanie was delighted to see Philip making her favorite dish for dinner. She admitted she's distracted by the Daniel and Chloe relationship drama, called Chloe a drama queen and added that that she doesn't think Chloe's a good fit for her dad, anyway. Phil pointed out that Daniel's not the most moral guy either and defended Chloe. They agreed to disagree and never talk about it again.
Chloe came home with Daniel from their therapy session and admitted she's exhausted, saying she doesn't' think it did any good (while flashing to her last romp with Philip). Daniel was desperate to fix their relationship and make things work. She tearfully told him it was impossible and doesn't want to return to therapy at all, claiming the therapist was judging her. Daniel did his best to build up Chloe's self confidence and apologized for not being sensitive enough to see how bad things have been for her. She admitted she's hiding something and is terrified about how he'll act after he finds out what she's done. Daniel was supportive and promised Chloe they'd work it out and to take her time. They kissed and started to have sex but Chloe stopped because she kept thinking about Philip. Miffed, Daniel finally demanded she tell him what's going on.
Nicole showed up to tell Brady that she's concerned about Arianna, who hung up on her earlier. Brady mentioned that they'd had a fight earlier and he hasn't heard from her in a while. He grabbed the phone to check on her. Nicole flashed back to her chat with Baker about framing Ari for the crimes. Worried that Brady might thwart the plan, Nicole distracted him from calling Ari by pretending to sprang her knee. When he said he needs to go visit his girl, she offered to accompany him. Meanwhile, Ari couldn't sleep and was preoccupied with settling things with Brady first. She heard a scuffle outside, where Dr. Baker and Hope had just attacked Roman and knocked him out. Carly called Hope to say that a package had arrived at the house for Ciara. Hope let it go to voicemail. Baker, meanwhile, grabbed Roman's wallet and secretly planted some evidence, a flashlight, to
implicate Ari for Nicole.
Inside the Brady Pub, Ari came down and was startled by Caroline, who asked where she's been and why she's so pale. Hope and Baker heard their voices and quickly scurried off. After, Baker tried to take control and told Hope he's sick of their small-scale muggings and wants to call the shots about who they roll from now on. Hope explained she has her reasons and told him to stop whining. Meanwhile, Carly approached Roman and called the cops. Ari and Caroline approached and were shocked to see him unconscious. Nicole, who'd arrived with Brady, quickly figured out that indeed Ari didn't have an alibi when the mugging occurred. "My plan is working perfectly," she said to herself and spied the evidence that Abe discovered at the scene. Brady and Ari made up. Ari was upset knowing that Nicole obviously still wants to be with him.
At the hospital, Carly checked on Roman while Caroline waited impatiently. Nicole arrived and told Caroline, "I'm sorry for your loss," which, needless to say, didn't go over well. "He's not dead!" Caroline snapped and then tried to clear the air, suggesting Nicole do an expose on who's doing these muggings. Caroline was happy when Roman woke up. He was in pain but okay and urged his mom to leave. Abe promised Roman they're close to finding the mugger, thanks to the flashlight left behind. Abe got a call about the lab reports and promised to tell Roman what he knows as soon as possible. Later, Nicole called Baker, who confirmed that he left evidence there. Ari showed up and bickered with Nicole, calling her out on trying to cause trouble. Annoyed, Brady broke it up.
Back at the Cheatin' Heart, Phil and Mel went to get a drink and ran into Nathan and Stephanie. Nathan apologized to Philip for the way he's been around Mel lately. Meanwhile, Mel confronted Steph about tricking Nathan by not taking her birth control to get pregnant. They tangled. Steph told Mel there isn't a baby and to stay out of her life. Steph approached Phil and said he looks guilty, then urged him to tell her what he did.
Hope returned home, poured herself a drink and glanced at Roman's wallet, saying how close she is getting to her main target. She put the wallet with the stash of others and whispered, "Poor Bo, he's not going to know what hit him." ... Carly went to check in on Caroline at the pub and explain that Hope doesn't blame Carly anymore and doesn't seem to be upset. Caroline was angry that Bo was now considered the bad guy for what happened to his marriage.... Outside the bar, Nathan caught up with Mel, who mentioned Chloe and Daniel's troubles. Nathan flashed back to the moment where he found out Chloe had an affair. Mel could sense he knew something.... Abe opened up the test results in front of Ari, Brady and a delighted Nicole, revealing that Ari's DNA was on the evidence
Thursday
Bo returned to Salem, surprising a thrilled Carly. He reported that Kimberly's operation went well and she had no signs of cancer. Carly revealed that Roman had been mugged earlier. "Who would be so brazen to attack a cop?" Bo wondered before heading to the hospital.
At the hospital, Abe told Brady, Arianna and Nicole that Ari's fingerprints were found on the flashlight used to harm Roman. Ari was flabbergasted. She insisted she had never seen the flashlight. Abe asked if she had an alibi. Nicole noted that Ari wasn't capable of those kinds of attacks. Abe revealed that Carly described a slight woman with her hair pulled back running away from the scene.
Abe called Hope, who was asleep, and told her that Roman was attacked. She hurried to meet him at the hospital. When she arrived, Brady told her that there's no way Ari is responsible. Carly and Bo arrived. Awkward. Hope welcomed him home and asked about Kim. He gave her the report. She updated him on the case and revealed she had to question Ari. Nicole started poking Ari, which caused Ari to exclaim, "You think I did it!" Everyone turned around, then Hope broke up the argument.
Dr. Baker played poker and flashed back to setting Ari up for the muggings. He called Nicole, who was at the station, and told her he needed money. She refused to give any to him, then hung up the phone when Brady and Ari came in. Hope returned and announced that Ari wasn't going anywhere.
At the Cheatin' Heart, Stephanie pushed Philip to reveal what was wrong with him. He dodged the question and turned it around on her. Outside, Melanie asked Nathan why he didn't think Chloe was right for Daniel. He recalled learning the truth about Chloe's one-night stand, then asked Melanie to drop it. Philip came outside to see what was up. Mel got a call that she had to go to the hospital; Philip took her. Nathan returned to the bar.... On the dock, Philip asked Melanie what she was discussing with Nathan. "Chloe," Mel admitted, adding that she felt something was wrong between her dad and his fiancée.
Daniel asked Chloe what was bothering her. She admitted that she felt like a total mess. He reassured her of his love, then left for the hospital. Philip returned to Maggie's and called Chloe to make sure that she was going to keep mum about their fling. She insisted she would, but revealed that Nathan knew that Chloe had a one-night stand, but didn't know with whom. Philip wasn't thrilled. Chloe's doorbell rang, so she hung up on Philip. It was Nathan. He told her that Melanie sensed the tension between Chloe and Daniel. Chloe insisted everything was fine. Nathan suggested Chloe go to sex therapy, which she thought was nuts. She went to kick him out, insisting the last thing she needed was sex therapy. "Get out and keep your friggin' mouth shut," she told him. Oops: Carly was in the hallway and overheard.
Melanie and Daniel chatted at the hospital. She asked him about Chloe and how they were doing. She wondered if Chloe really made him happy. He insisted they loved each other. He asked her how she was. She said she was fine, but needed guidance on how to deal with Victor. He asked why, so she explained Vivian invited her and Philip over. Daniel didn't want his daughter anywhere near Viv and headed to Maggie's to confront Philip.
Melanie ran into Steph in the hospital and asked if Steph was pregnant. Stephanie insisted she wasn't. Mel asked to see Steph's birth control pills. "Get a life," Steph told her. Melanie grabbed her bag and a catfight ensued.
Friday
Will wanted to go out to a party T was having at Café Kinky, but Sami said no way because she got an e-mail from his algebra teacher that he had a D in the class. They fought. Will noted that Rafe had been tutoring him and like everything else, Sami screwed it up. More fighting took place.
In the living room, EJ demanded to know what happened to Anna. Stefano revealed that Rafe had gotten to her. EJ panicked. Stefano assured him everything was under control. EJ went out into the foyer and came upon Will and Sami fighting. Sydney started crying, so EJ suggested Sami go to her. He then spoke to Will alone. Will wasn't interested, noting that Rafe was more unbiased than EJ. EJ left to help Sami with Sydney; Will slammed the chess board. Stefano entered at that moment. Will told him about the D in algebra. "There must be some way to make that D disappear," Stefano declared. EJ walked in on the last comment and warned his father not to interfere. Will took a potshot at EJ and walked out. "It seems as if William is not too crazy about you," The Phoenix observed. EJ told his father to steer clear of Will. "I'm not going to let you corrupt him the way you corrupted me," EJ thundered. Sami overheard and entered. She said she was on EJ's side and planned to keep Stefano away from her children. Stefano excused himself. Sami thanked EJ for having her back. She assured him that he wasn't his father's son and was a good man. She took his face in her hands and they moved in for a kiss.... Will called T to say he was grounded and couldn't get to the party. He commented to T that Stefano wasn't such a bad guy.
In the hospital in South America, Rafe worried that Anna wouldn't regain consciousness. The doctor suggested giving her an extremely strong stimulant to rouse her. "Do it. Do it now," Rafe instructed. Rafe then sat by her bedside and spoke to her. Her fingers started moving, then she opened her eyes.
Melanie and Stephanie argued over whether or not Steph was taking birth control. A fight over the purse ensued and its contents spilled on the floor. Maggie and Nurse Lesley broke it up. Maggie demanded to know what was going on. "Do you want to tell her, or should I, Stephanie?" Mel spat. Stephanie countered that Melanie could tell everyone how she was still totally into Nathan, despite being "oh-so-happily married." Stephanie apologized to Maggie for the disruption. Lesley sent Melanie home until her next shift. Maggie told Melanie that if she had information about Nathan, then she needed to tell her immediately. Melanie was about to, then decided to leave and go home to Philip.
At Maggie's, Philip flashed back to having sex with Chloe. He opened the door to find an irate Daniel there. Assuming Daniel knew about the one-night stand, Philip immediately apologized. Daniel asked how he could do it, then Philip realized he was talking about Philip agreeing that he and Mel would have dinner with Vivian. Philip insisted he just said it to appease Vivian and he didn't want Melanie anywhere near her. Daniel was relieved. He admitted he was off his game because he felt as though Chloe was keeping something from him. "I think she really loves you. She never wants to lose you. Love can make you do weird things sometimes," Philip observed. Daniel had a light bulb moment and realized he had to make Chloe feel more secure. He apologized for barking at Philip earlier and left. Philip exhaled a huge sigh of relief.
Chloe threw Nathan out of the apartment, insisting she didn't need sex therapy. Carly, who was in the hallway, heard the whole thing. She explained that she was picking up her things from Adrienne's now that Bo was back in town. Carly asked what was going on. Chloe covered that they were fighting over Lucas. Carly left, then Chloe laid into Nathan and brought up Melanie, pointing out that Melanie would get hurt if Chloe's secret got out. Nathan was confused. Chloe noted that Mel would be upset if Daniel was. Nathan got annoyed and stormed out. There was a knock at the door: It was Carly, who wanted to talk. She said she knew why Chloe and Nate were arguing. "It only happened one time... You cannot tell Daniel," Chloe cried. Carly didn't understand, then gasped, "Oh, my God. Did you cheat on Daniel?"
Nathan and Steph met up at the Cheatin' Heart. Stephanie told him about her fight with Melanie. After, they went home and had sex. Steph flashed back to her argument with Melanie and stopped. Nathan asked her if everything was okay. She insisted it was.... Mel got home and told Philip about the argument, explaining that Steph was trying to trap Nathan by getting pregnant. Phil was stunned, noting it didn't sound like the Stephanie he knew. He asked why Mel cared. She said she really didn't, but just wanted to be honest with him and tell him the truth. He got so turned on that he carried her upstairs...
Daniel tracked down Father Matt at the hospital and opened up about his problems with Chloe.
