Monday
Brady ran into an upset Melanie on the pier and asked what Philip had done to her. She ranted about men in general and broke down in tears. Brady took her in his arms. She wondered why he was being so nice to her. Brady took Melanie to the Cheatin' Heart to blow off some steam. They played darts.
At Titan, Stephanie was alarmed to discover that she lost all of her computer files. Philip got a call and learned that the outage was company wide. “Titan's entire database was wiped clean,” he reported, then flashed back to his conversation with EJ about the fuels project. An IT person came to check out the damage and explained that a worm had entered the system and everything was lost. Philip asked him to recover the fuels project files first, then left.
Nicole came into the DiMera manse and found EJ on his laptop. She confronted him about Sami and Rafe and why he cared that they kissed. He gave her a passionate kiss and said he is only interested in her when it comes to kissing. He then lamely explained that he was worried about Johnny's safety with regard to Rafe since they never found out who ordered the hit on the mayor. Once Nicole calmed down, she told EJ how she had found a wedding dress and needed a down payment because the store didn't take credit cards. He asked what happened to the down payment she had already given him. She lied that she used it for other wedding planning. He gave her some more money.
Stefano called a contact to learn what Nicole was hiding at the Convent of the Holy Cross. After, Roman called the Phoenix and asked him to come to the station to talk about the mayor's murder. Stefano refused and said he would only come in if served a subpoena. Stefano then made a call to someone insisting that all ties he had to the mayor's killer be permanently destroyed. There was a knock at the door; it was Philip, looking for EJ. Stefano sent him into the living room. Philip talked about the worm virus and assumed EJ was responsible; EJ said it was a baseless accusation and made vague threats while pawing Nicole throughout. Sydney began to cry; Nicole excused herself to check on the baby. She called Brady, who was still with Melanie. She told him what was going on with Philip and EJ and she worried that Philip would go back on his word and tell EJ that she and Brady had a secret. She asked him to check in on what was going on at Titan. He hung up on her and called the office. He then told Melanie what happened with the computer system and the fuels project. She was dismayed.
EJ and Philip finished their chat. After Philip left, Stefano congratulated his son on his handling of young Kiriakis. Nicole entered and the conversation turned to Sydney. Stefano made a pointed comment about how well Mary was looking after her. He then noted that the baby girl looks just like Johnny. EJ agreed. Nicole excused herself to check on the baby. Stefano asked EJ why Nicole seemed so rattled. EJ noted that Sami was back and Nic wasn't thrilled. Up in Sydney's room, Nicole wondered why Sami left Grace at the convent and was determined to find out.
At the convent, Sami confronted Sister Theresa and demanded to know who had held her daughter. She also wondered where Grace was. Sister Theresa explained that another nun had taken the baby for a walk. Sami was happy when she was reunited with her daughter. After, she went to the Brady Pub and caught up with her father. Roman warned her that he felt Stefano was responsible for the hit on the mayor and that she shouldn't trust the DiMeras. She then asked him to talk to the ISA on Rafe's behalf or get him a job at the Salem PD. Roman said there was a hiring freeze at the department. He assured her that Rafe would be fine and she needed to move on. She said she was working on picking up the pieces.
Philip returned to Titan and told Stefano he was going to kill EJ.
Tuesday
At the cabin, Chloe tried on her wedding dress and fantasized about being with Daniel. Lucas came in and she panicked that she saw him in the dress. He said he didn't know she was so superstitious and then calmed her down. He told her he was so happy they had reunited and that she meant more to him than she would ever know. He went to leave and explained he was on his way to see Sami. Chloe was not thrilled. He insisted he wanted only Chloe; she said she felt the same way and was determined to marry him.
Kate ran into Daniel on the pier. She lied that she had a premonition of someone stopping Chloe and Lucas's wedding. He dismissed it as jitters. She played a subtle mind game with him, asking if there were other reasons that the wedding shouldn't happen. Daniel said no and took off. He went to the hospital chapel to pray for guidance about the situation with Chloe — out loud. She walked in on him, but he didn't see her. He sensed she was there. She hurried off and ran right into Kate, who asked if there was a problem. Chloe said she was fine and had had her bi-annual checkup and gotten the all clear. Kate said she was thrilled and was there for a checkup, too. Kate then asked about going wedding dress shopping, but Chloe said she wanted to keep the one she bought. Kate snidely remarked that she thought they could get something more suitable, but oh, well, there would be other times to bond. Chloe left. Kate noted to herself that she had just gotten started.
At the Cheatin' Heart, Max flashed back to having sex with Chelsea and called her to come meet him. There was a knock at the door. He psyched himself up for it being Chelsea, but it was Will. Max asked him how he was doing; they caught up.
At the Brady house, Chelsea told Stephanie about hooking up with Max in her room and how Bo got angry. The conversation turned to Philip. Steph admitted that she could see herself winding up with him, which scared her. "Marriage, a house, kids, all of it," she explained. Chelsea went to see Max after and walked in on his chat with Will. She overheard him say that he couldn't wait to be a father. She backed away. Will took off. Max texted Chelsea, asking where she was and to call him. He then looked at jewelry he bought her and hoped she would like it.
Chelsea went to the hospital chapel and ran into Daniel. Chelsea said she was having a rough day and wondered if it was possible that her infertility wasn't permanent. He sadly told her that no, it wasn't possible. She cried and asked why he couldn't at least give her false hope. She hurried off and went to see Max, who was upset that she was so late. He explained that he was worried about her, then noted that she seemed upset and presented her with his gift. She said she couldn't accept it and that they had to end things before they went too far. "I don't get it," he said. "It's better this way," she told him. He said he was happy and thought things were great. "I love you ... that's why I'm doing this," she said and left in tears.
Sami ran into Rafe at the Brady Pub. She wondered why he hadn't told her he was back in town. He said it was complicated and didn't want to talk about it. She asked if he had been fired from the FBI. He said he did. She blamed herself. He said he would do it all over again, in a heartbeat. Cue the sexual tension. Rafe excused himself; Sami made a quick call to Abe and asked for his help getting Rafe a job. Rafe overheard and grabbed the phone away from her. He explained there had been a misunderstanding and that Abe should forget that Sami ever called. He hung up abruptly, which Sami called him out on. He told her he didn't want her to "fix things" for him, since it wasn't her strong suit. She called him a name. He said he would figure it all out on his own and asked her why she was so concerned. "Because you're my friend," she responded, adding that he could have a great life in Salem. She also admitted she didn't want him to walk out of her life again. He said that wouldn't happen. He left, but promised to call her soon. Lucas came in and deduced that Rafe was her FBI pal. She changed the subject to Chloe. She asked how he could still be planning to marry that "ghoul girl/opera bitch." ... Rafe went to the police station to see Roman, hoping to get a job.
Kate ran to Daniel at the hospital. She worried that she was too rattled earlier. He said it was fine and assured her that Lucas and Chloe would have a happy life together.... Chloe met Lucas at the Pub and suggested they elope.
Wednesday
On the pier, Sami talked to Sister Theresa and caught up about Grace. Will overheard her conversation and asked who Grace is. "Rafe," Sami quickly covered. "Rafe is the guy who was assigned to my case when I was in the witness protection program." Will deduced something was up with his mom, but she said it was nothing. He didn't believe her; they had an awkward conversation that ended him with him leaving for the cabin.
Nicole was about to take Sydney for a walk. She opened the door to find Dr. Baker standing outside the DiMera mnse. He revealed he was leaving town. "All good things must come to an end," he announced. Nicole felt that things were ending too easily. Dr. B smiled, bid farewell to Sydney and walked off.
Daniel ran into Hope at the Brady Pub and asked if he could join her. She was bummed about being out of work and warned that she wasn't great company. He urged her to forgive herself regarding Kayla's shooting. "Like you're so good at it," she shot back.
At the Pub, Chloe suggested that she and Lucas elope to Las Vegas. He wondered what was up and said they couldn't because they promised Kate they'd have a proper wedding. She said she wanted to get it done; he felt like it was something she was crossing off her to-do list. She insisted that wasn't what she meant. Lucas realized she was looking at Daniel and asked why. She said she wasn't, but wanted to leave. They exited; Hope said hi to Lucas as he was leaving. Outside, Lucas pointed out to Chloe that he felt like he was with Sami, who sped up the wedding to hide something. He demanded to know what was going on. She said he had almost died and she wanted to commit to each other right away. He didn't buy it, so she then turned the tables and said maybe he didn't want to marry her and stormed off.
At the station, Bo had another vision of Hope in bed with another man. Roman asked if everything was okay and Bo fibbed that he was concerned about the budget. Abe came by and noted Bo's state of mind. He asked if Bo was alright. Bo snapped that he was. Abe gave him a file and he smiled. After, Abe went to the Brady Pub and told Hope she had been reinstated. She was thrilled. "You got my vote for reelection," Daniel assured him and went to get a sandwich. Bo walked in and realized from Hope's demeanor that Abe spilled the beans. "You said you were gonna wait till I got here," Bo chided. Abe left them alone to celebrate. They kissed. Daniel spied them and flashed back to an intimate moment with Chloe. At the cabin, Chloe looked at her wedding dress and thought of Daniel. The door opened; she called out Daniel's name, but it was Will. They talked about Lucas.
Roman chatted with Rafe about employment opportunities in the Salem PD. Rafe slipped that Sami called Abe on his behalf. Roman observed that she never takes no for an answer. He asked Rafe to sit down and told him that there were some discretionary funds in the department and one was to cover long-range criminal investigations, like into the DiMeras. Rafe said he would be interested in that. Rafe filled out an application just as Sami walked in. Roman asked her if she wanted some coffee. He went to fetch the "good stuff" down the hall, leaving Rafe and Sami alone. Rafe asked her what was wrong. She was melancholy about Grace and Will. He gave her a reassuring hug just as Roman returned. Bo and Hope walked in and Roman introduced the Bradys to Rafe. Hope had forms to fill out for her reinstatement. Roman and Bo went into Bo's office. Hope talked to Rafe outside, which Bo observed. Bo joined them and Hope told him that Rafe played the position they needed for the squad baseball team. Rafe finished his application and left. Hope said she liked him; Bo warned her not to get too attached. Hope asked if her hubby was jealous. He said he wasn't and maintained that there was no money in the budget to hire Rafe. He also revealed he had another vision. Roman left for court. Bo welcomed Hope back to the station with a little office lovin'.... Rafe got a call with a job offer to be on an anti-terror task force. He learned that Roman vouched for him, but it would require a move to New York.
Nicole ran into Lucas on the pier and remarked that he looked like "hell, again." He told her about Chloe's elopement plan and how it led to a fight. Nicole pointed out that Chloe was emotional these days. Lucas asked if Nic knew why. Nicole avoided the question and went to leave with Sydney. Lucas looked at the baby and noted she looked like Allie did at that age. Nicole got defensive. Sami ran into them. Nicole made a catty remark; Lucas defended Sami, then headed to the Cheatin' Heart after. Nicole and Sami faced off. Nicole made a snide comment about having to take care of her baby and left, leaving Sami upset. She called Rafe and asked him to meet her, then flew into his arms in tears.
Daniel followed Lucas into the bar and asked if he was drinking again. Lucas said no, he was just thinking about Chloe. They sat down together. Lucas admitted he felt he and Chloe had secrets in their relationship. Daniel assured Lucas that he knew Chloe loved Lucas.
Thursday
Nicole left a note for EJ, who came upstairs with champagne she left to find her waiting for him in lingerie. They had sex at long last and basked in the afterglow. EJ fell asleep. Nicole got a call on her cell that annoyed her.
Kate visited Victor at Titan and restated her desire to get revenge on Chloe. She revealed that Chloe had slept with another man. She was determined to nail Chloe somehow. Victor suggested she choose the right moment so Chloe can live the rest of her life in sorrow and humiliation.
At the cabin, Chloe asked Will to speak to Lucas on her behalf, but he said no way because he was only 16 and didn't want to get involved. She apologized for asking him. He wondered if there was some big problem that Lucas and Chloe weren't discussing, then added that his father's big problem was Sami and that his parents were meant to be together. Chloe didn't think so. Will got annoyed and left.
At the Cheatin' Heart, Daniel and Lucas continued their discussion about Chloe. Lucas could tell that Daniel wanted to say something and urged him to just spit it out. Daniel pointed out that the bottom line was that Chloe wanted to marry Lucas and that should be enough. "I would never risk losing her. Never," Daniel told him. "If you don't go find Chloe and tell her, ‘I will do whatever you want, baby,' you are an idiot." Lucas returned to the cabin, where Chloe was leaving him a message asking for another chance. They made up. Lucas told her he had reserved the jet for that evening and said they were going to Vegas to wed. She was thrilled.
Kate met Daniel at the bar and told him that she heard on good authority that Chloe was having an affair with another man. "Tell me it's not true," she sighed. He thought it sounded like someone was just trying to stir up trouble. She revealed that the person described sounded an awful lot like Daniel. She added that when she and Daniel ended things, he was close to Chloe and tense and irritable and he didn't seem that way now. "And from that you deduced an affair?" he asked. He urged her to just let Chloe and Lucas be happy. She noted that she thought Daniel would have fought for Chloe more than he did. He got annoyed. She explained that it was an interrogation technique, "to see if it was really you." He told her she had a lot of nerve and got up to leave. She point-blank asked if he was now or ever was involved with Chloe.
Sami, who was upset from her conversation with Nicole, told Rafe she needed him but that EJ didn't want her to be around the law enforcer. An emotional Sami said she wanted to get Grace, but he said no, then explained that Roman told him the DiMeras were responsible for the mayor's murder. Sami swatted Rafe, pointing out that she had told him that it months ago. He said she was right all along and that Grace wouldn't be safe if she was in Salem. He suggested they take the DiMeras down so she could get her life back. She said she could bring Grace to Salem and claim she adopted her from the convent. She then told Rafe that the best part of being in hiding was meeting him. Rafe seemed uncomfortable in their close moment. Will came across them on the pier. Sami introduced Will to Sami. Will was a little rude. Sami asked him to get coffee with him, but Will noted that three was a crowd. Rafe said he was leaving anyway and told Sami they would talk later. Will asked about Rafe; Sami said they were just friends. She and Will talked things out. He suspected she was up to something with Rafe. She insisted everything was fine. He warned her that whatever she was thinking about doing, it would go wrong, like everything else did.
Rafe looked at the phone number of the anti-terror task force Roman recommended him to. He called and said he had to pass on the offer because he had decided to stay in Salem.
Friday
Chloe was happy that Lucas was now gung-ho to elope to Vegas. She wondered about the turnaround. He said he had help from Daniel. She asked him about his conversation with the doc. He said that Daniel clearly thinks Chloe is the "bee's knees." The conversation shifted to what they should pack and where they should honeymoon. Lucas noted that everything they wanted was right there in Vegas, plus they had the kids to think about. "We don't need an exotic honeymoon to prove our love," he smiled. They began to kiss; Will walked in on them and had a look of disgust. He was upset to hear they were getting hitched. Chloe pointed out that she understood that he hoped Sami and Lucas would reunite, but that she and Lucas loved each other. Lucas invited Will to go to Vegas and be his best man. Will took a pass. Lucas got a call. There were mechanical difficulties with the plane and they couldn't leave right away.
At the Cheatin' Heart, Kate asked Daniel whether he had ever been or was now involved with Chloe. He bid her good night, but she urged him to stay, "assuming" the answer was no. They went back and forth, dancing around the truth. Daniel insisted that someone must have misconstrued whatever they think they saw between him and Chloe. "I was her doctor. Someone could have seen us at the hospital talking," he said. She told him that her source saw them somewhere else and she worried that Lucas may have learned the truth and nearly died because of it. Kate then "decided" that Daniel was telling the truth and hadn't been with Chloe. She noted that being in remission made her a new woman and that she wanted Daniel back in her life. "I think we were good together," she observed. He didn't think she had given it much thought, but she turned the screws and added, "I think about you night and day, mostly night. When I'm lying in bed and I can't fall asleep. I picture you lying next to me and then I'm up for hours ... Fantasizing. Do you fantasize about me?" He said he wasn't sure what her 180 was about, but it wasn't going to happen. "We're not the same people we were six months ago," he explained. He took off. Kate vowed to stop Lucas and Chloe's wedding herself.
Chelsea ran into Max on the pier. He was upset that she hadn't returned his messages and asked why she broke up with him so suddenly. Chelsea 'fessed up that she overheard Max tell Will that he couldn't wait to be a dad someday and she couldn't give him that. "It doesn't make one bit of difference to me that you can't have your own kids," he declared, then pointed out that they had both been adopted and that he was fine to adopt, too. He said he didn't know whether or not they would end up together, and gently added that he didn't want her telling him what he needed or wanted ever again. "Because I know," he explained and kissed her. After, they went to the Cheatin' Heart. Max looked over the fuels project paperwork, then put it in the safe. She signed for a delivery and the deliveryman gave her his number. Max was a little jealous so she crumpled it up and threw it away. They kissed.
Melanie worked on her laptop at the Brady Pub. Brady came in and she asked if their project was really DOA. He told her the Titan computer situation was a "disaster" and suggested that she had something to do with the loss of files; she denied it. He didn't believe her and left.
Nicole got a call from an irate Philip, who told her that EJ screwed him over and it was payback time. He threatened to tell her "Eurotrash lover boy" about her affair with Brady. Nicole quickly got dressed and went to hurry out, but EJ woke up. She claimed she needed to buy formula for Sydney. She left a message for Brady and rushed off. She met Brady and admitted she was in over her head with Philip. He vowed to protect her. She thanked him with a kiss that was almost on the lips.
At Titan, Stephanie tried to keep Philip's spirits up about the fuels project fiasco, but he wasn't too receptive because he was worried how Victor would react. He was sorry for letting his father down, and sorry for letting Steph down. She wasn't because it showed he could be vulnerable. "Fear is weak," he replied. She pointed out that his father taught him that and that it wasn't weak, it was human. Philip admitted he was scared "out of my wits." Steph said she wanted to give them another shot. She also assured him he'd figure things out. She kissed him to relax him. They moved their romantic evening in front of the fireplace at his house. She revealed that she thought of a future with him. He said he did, too.
Melanie stormed into the DiMera manse and told EJ that he was on her list. EJ said his company was no longer involved in the fuels project. She called him a two-faced bastard and accused him of never intending to develop the project in the first place. Tony overheard their heated exchange. EJ physically threw Melanie out of the house. Tony secretly went after her to see how she was doing. "I was hoping we would be of some benefit to each other," he said.
Kate rushed into the cabin to see Chloe and Lucas. Will revealed they had left for Vegas.
