DAYS Week Of March 29, 2010
Monday
Hope apologized to Justin for bringing Adrienne to Salem. Justin fumed that the next time Hope had a brilliant idea about his ex and their marriage to run it by him first. He stormed off, as Julie walked in. Hope explained she'd lured Adrienne to town in an attempt to get her and Justin back together. Julie got why Hope did it — if Hope patched up their marriage, it would give her hope for her own. Hope said things between her and Bo were complicated. Julie encouraged Hope to fix things with Justin and Adrienne.
Stephanie and Adrienne ran into each other at the Java Café. Adrienne noted she was there to see Justin, but admitted things hadn't gone well. She'd discovered Justin was in love with Hope. Justin arrived on cue and apologized for Hope's actions. Then, Hope arrived and tried to apologize to Adrienne. Hope insisted Justin wasn't in love with her. Adrienne called Hope on projecting her situation with Bo on her and Justin, and ordered Hope to leave her alone. Later, Hope ran into Justin on the pier. She tried to apologize, again. He scolded her, again. Justin said he got the message Hope had no feelings for him. She didn't have to go behind his back and lure Adrienne to Salem. Friends didn't do that to each other.
Daniel and Melanie arrived at the pub. Chloe popped in, said hi, and left for an appointment. Melanie thought Chloe seemed nice. Daniel gave Melanie a locket that was his mother's. Melanie thanked him with a big hug. She wanted to hear more about their family. Daniel reminded Melanie there was another side of the family and encouraged her to get to know Carly. Melanie wasn't interested. Carly kept her from her real dad and she couldn't forgive that. Daniel noted that Carly did that to try to save Melanie from Lawrence. Melanie wouldn't budge.
Philip approached Carly. "Is it Melanie? Something wrong?" asked Carly. "Yeah, you," said Philip, ordering Carly to stay away from his wife. Carly swore she wasn't the villain the Kiriakis family made her out to be. She couldn't stay away her child and wouldn't. Carly stomped off when Chloe arrived. She told Philip she was there to see her shrink. Chloe said she owed it to Daniel to give therapy a chance. Philip offered up encouragement, noting there was plenty to talk about. Chloe said she didn't have a problem with Melanie, but was worried about Carly. She was the mother of Daniel's child and that was something Chloe could never be. Philip convinced Chloe of Daniel's love and she finally started to believe it. Chloe vowed not to let Carly worm her way into Daniel's life.
Carly arrived at the pub and saw Melanie with Daniel. Carly went on about how she'd spent her whole life searching for Melanie and was determined to make things up to her. Melanie insisted that would never happen. Carly refused to give up trying, swearing Melanie's anger wouldn't dissuade her. "Aren't you a tough cookie?" retorted Melanie. "Like mother, like daughter," responded Carly. Melanie exploded, yelling for Carly never to refer to herself as her mother. She only had one parent: Daniel. Melanie ran out. Daniel ran after her, hit a patch of ice, and fell. Carly came out and saw Daniel lying in a puddle of blood.
Brady and Arianna learned a hurricane was approaching Santo Domingo and they had to leave immediately. Arianna left to pack her things. She got a call from Gabi. Arianna told her sister the wedding was off, because of the storm. They had to leave, pronto! Brady and Nicole discussed his upcoming wedding to Arianna. He told Nicole to rethink returning to Salem. There was nothing for her there. Nicole said she had friends in Salem. Brady told her he was starting a new life with Arianna. Fay interrupted, noting they all had to get out of there. Brady went to see Arianna. He said he was sorry about the hurricane and Hurricane Nicole. Then, he professed his love. Meanwhile, Nicole insisted she wasn't going anywhere until Brady left. He still loved her, and she knew it. Fay said Nicole was wrong. Nicole told Fay to ask Brady. Fay did just that and sensed Brady did still have feelings for Nicole. She told Nicole she was right, but that Brady was still planning marry Arianna. Later, Arianna, Brady and Nicole were all on a plane destined for Salem. Brady was surprised Nicole was returning there. "Home is where the heart is," noted Nicole.
Tuesday
Rafe was at the station working on the kidnapping case when Sami arrived. Sami scolded him for not returning her calls. EJ walked in and asked if there was any news, then left. Sami told Rafe he couldn't keep shutting her out, but he kept doing it. Roman arrived and told Rafe there was no new information. Rafe said it was like Anna had dropped off the radar. He couldn't believe he had her in his grasp and let her go. Roman said he did the same thing, too. The conversation turned to Sami. Roman told Rafe he owed her an apology for kicking her while she was down. Rafe brought up Sami lying to him and aligning herself with EJ. Roman noted that if Rafe couldn't let go of that, his and Sami's relationship was dead.
Later, Sami and EJ were back at her place. Sami recounted embarrassing herself earlier by telling Rafe not to shut her out, only to have him walk away from her. She was afraid they weren't getting back together. "Maybe that's for the best," responded EJ, insisting he wanted what was best for Sami and didn't want to see her hurt. Sami realized it was probably over and that she should move on. She just didn't know how. EJ suggested she concentrate on her kids. Sami went on about Sydney hardly knowing her. EJ insisted Sydney knew he and Sami loved her more than anything. Then, he went on about how much he loves Johnny. Sami was truly touched. Soon, she headed off to the market, leaving EJ to babysit. Alone, EJ held Sydney, thought about Sami, and finally admitted he loved her.
Brady leaned forward and asked Nicole what he was going to do with her, while Arianna was away from her plane seat. Arianna returned and handed Brady a note from a flight attendant. Turned out it was from his pal, who used to fly for Titan. Brady left to chat with him, and Arianna moved a seat up to chat with Nicole. The two gals exchanged insults. Arianna brought up Nicole's drinking and baby stealing. Nicole brought up Arianna being a convicted drug dealer and said Brady didn't love her. Nicole noted how Brady stood by her despite every despicable thing she did. "If that isn't love, what is?" she asked. Arianna thought Nicole was delusional. Nicole thought Arianna was insecure. Brady returned, and the squabbling ended. Later, at the Kiriakis mansion, Arianna suggested she and Brady plan their wedding. Brady phoned Nicole, noting they had to talk. Meanwhile, Nicole wandered on the pier, when she came upon Sami.
Daniel raced out of the pub after Melanie, hit a patch of ice, and fell to the ground. Blood surrounded his head. Carly tended to him, while Melanie called for an ambulance. Kinsey ran out and asked what happened. Carly ordered her back inside. Melanie begged Daddy Daniel not to leave her. Later, Carly and Melanie were with Daniel at the hospital. Melanie remembered Daniel giving her his mom's locket. Carly helped her put it on and reassured Melanie that Daniel's fall wasn't her fault. Melanie said it was all Carly's fault for showing up at the pub. Melanie was at Daniel's bedside when he started to stir.
Chloe phoned Daniel and left a message. Victor sneaked up and suggested he might be avoiding her. Chloe assured Victor they were doing fine. Victor doubted that would last, because of Carly, and ordered Chloe to keep her away from Daniel. Chloe couldn't believe Victor was rooting for her. "I'd rather have you in my godson's life than a psychopathic murderess," explained Victor. Later, Chloe walked up to the pub as Kinsey cleaned the sidewalk. Kinsey explained about Daniel's fall and said it was all Carly's fault. Nicole arrived, and Kinsey recognized her as the baby snatcher. She took Nicole's picture with her phone and asked her to sign her shirt. Nicole told Kinsey to leave her alone. Arianna entered the pub, found Rafe, and told him Nicole was back in town.
At the hospital, a doctor informed Carly that Daniel's test results weren't good. Chloe raced up and asked Carly what happened and what she did to Daniel.
Wednesday
EJ walked around Sami's townhouse holding Sydney and muttering that he loved Sami. Lexie arrived and sensed something was wrong. EJ admitted he should have listened to her about Sami. Lexie realized her brother had finally decided to stop denying his feelings for Sami. EJ rambled on about the complicated mess. Lexie wondered if EJ had revealed his love to Sami. He said he hadn't and wasn't sure he would. He didn't know how she'd react. Lexie mentioned Sami being with Rafe. "They broke up," EJ revealed. Lexie wondered if that meant EJ wanted to make something happen with Sami. EJ didn't know. Lexie suggested he go for a walk and think about it.
Arianna told Rafe about her non elopement in Santo Domingo, Nicole crashing her and Brady's party, and Nicole being back in town. Rafe left a message for Sami to warn her about Nicole. Rafe thought about Nicole and wondered how she was able to blackmail Anna. He went off to find her.
Sami couldn't believe Nicole had the nerve to show up in Salem. Nicole said she was there to stay and asked about Sydney. Sami said her little girl was safe and lambasted Nicole for letting Anna get away with kidnapping her, so she could get out of prison. Nicole said Sami lied to EJ, too, and shouldn't play the victim. Nicole brought up Rafe, realized something was amiss between him and Sami, and started taunting her about it. Sami punched Nicole and a brawl ensued. Rafe arrived, pulled the pair apart, and hauled them to the station. An officer took Nicole off. Rafe tended to Sami's eye wound. The officer returned and told Rafe he could question Nicole. Roman apologized to Sami for telling Anna to come and see her. Rafe asked how Nicole orchestrated her pardon. He assumed she knew Anna kidnapped Sydney and blackmailed her. Rafe continued to badger. Finally, Nicole relented, saying she'd tell him everything.
Nathan bought Stephanie a coffee at the Java Caf. She wondered if he was trying to make peace. They discussed Melanie's letter. Nathan said it was meaningless and suggested he and Steph start over. He invited her to dinner. She accepted. Adrienne arrived and Steph introduced her to Nathan. After he left, Adrienne asked to hear everything about the new guy in Steph's life. Steph admitted she was crazy about Nathan. She mentioned that he'd been into someone else him, but that was over.
At the hospital, Chloe asked Carly what she did to Daniel. Daniel woke up, looked at Melanie, and saw double. A doctor told Carly that Daniel might experience double vision, but was hopeful it would get better. Melanie ran out, yelling for a doctor to look at her dad. Chloe went off on Carly. Melanie explained that she was yelling at Carly and ran out of the pub, when Daniel followed and fell. The doctor emerged and said they'd run more tests on Daniel. Chloe went in to see her fiancée. Melanie asked Carly if her dad would be okay. Carly wasn't sure. Melanie blamed herself for his accident. Then, she blamed Carly. Carly pointed out it was an accident. Melanie joined Chloe and Daniel. Chloe left to fetch Daniel a treat. Melanie apologized to Daniel for what happened. He assured they'd get through this. Melanie praised Carly for springing into action after Daniel's accident. Carly entered and praised Melanie, too. Melanie got all teary-eyed and left. Later, on the pier, she bumped into Nathan. Back at the hospital, Carly and Daniel discussed Melanie. Carly took Daniel's hand as Chloe watched through the window.
EJ found Arianna peddling up a storm on the bike at the gym. She told EJ she felt like tearing something apart and explained how her wedding had been ruined — by Nicole! EJ realized Brady and Arianna had gone to Santo Domingo to elope. He asked if Nicole said anything about Sydney's kidnapping or her pardon. Arianna said she hadn't. EJ was thankful the wench was "a long way from Salem." Arianna told him Nicole was actually in town. EJ knew he had to find her.
Thursday
Vivian ran into Carly at the hospital and taunted her about causing Daniel's accident and ruining his career. Justin arrived and told Vivian to leave, reminding her there was a restraining order that kept her from going near Carly. Vivian said her attorney had that revoked. Then, she declared she was "putting down rich powerful roots" and made a big announcement: she and Victor were getting married. Justin was stunned, but assumed Victor wanted to keep Vivian around so she could strike against Carly.
Melanie told Nathan about Daniel being the hospital. He gave her a hug just as Philip walked up. Melanie ran into Philip's arms, so Nathan split. Melanie explained what happened to Daniel and said Nathan was just comforting her. She and Philip smooched, while Nathan thought about Melanie and realized he couldn't get her out of his head. Vivian interrupted Philip and Melanie, noting she had wonderful news: Victor finally popped the question. Philip refused to believe it. Vivian explained Victor was a man of great passion and virile needs. She encouraged Philip and Melanie to move back to the mansion, so they could be one, big happy family. Philip assured Melanie that wasn't going to happen.
Adrienne and Stephanie talked about the girl Nathan was hung up on. Steph admitted doing something she wasn't proud of and told her aunt about the letter. Adrienne thought Steph should have given it to Nathan. Steph said Nathan found out about the letter, but doesn't know what was in it. Adrienne thought Steph might have just delayed the inevitable. Nathan approached and told Steph he couldn't go out with her tonight. "It's Melanie... I still have feelings for her," he confessed. Adrienne ran into Carly at the hospital and immediately brought up the Bo/Hope situation. She warned Carly that the pair had reconciled many times, so Carly shouldn't get too comfortable with Bo.
EJ arrived to see Benny. He explained Nicole was running around free, because Anna got her a pardon. EJ realized Nicole and Anna had a connection and didn't want his kidnapping plot with Anna and Benny exposed. EJ announced Benny was a liability and reached into his pocket. Benny begged for his life. EJ pulled out a wad of money instead of a gun and told Benny to leave town.
Rafe questioned Nicole about her pardon to no avail. He suggested what he thought happened: Nicole remembered Anna took Sydney and threatened to reveal all unless she got her out of prison. Nicole insisted he was wrong. She claimed she and Anna had bonded when they were sisters-in-law. Nicole assumed that if Anna did take Sydney she felt guilty and didn't want Nicole in prison for something she did. That's why Anna got her pardoned. Rafe urged Nicole to tell the truth and reveal where Anna was. She wouldn't. Nicole left, and Rafe perused pictures in a file. He found surveillance photos of Benny toting a gun in a store that sold diapers. He ordered an officer to find him.
EJ phoned Bennie, who told him he was at the airport and heading out of town. Nicole approached EJ and asked if he'd missed her. EJ asked why Nicole was back in Salem. She said it was her home and she was ready to make a fresh start. Nicole mentioned Anna taking Sydney and how surprised she was Anna would do something like that to EJ. However, after thinking about it, she realized exactly why Anna did it. EJ grabbed Nicole's arm and ordered her to tell him what she knew. Then, he tried to explain it away as still being traumatized over what happened to Sydney. Nicole didn't buy it. She could see EJ was worried as hell about what Anna told her.
Rafe joined Benny at the airport bar. Benny took out his envelope full of cash and bought him a drink. Rafe started lamenting about his lady friend who got away: Anna DiMera. Benny tried to leave. Rafe stopped him, warning there were men watching him and noting he was an FBI agent. Rafe showed Benny the picture from the store and suggested they talk about Anna. Benny played dumb. Rafe noted Benny's DNA was on Sydney's stuffed animal that was left at the cottage. Benny wanted a lawyer. Rafe wanted to make a deal. A cop approached and handcuffed Benny.
Friday
Vivian rushed in to the mansion with wedding invitation samples and gave Victor a drink. She revealed that she told Philip about the wedding plans. He was furious and ordered her to stay away from Bo, Brady, Philip and Daniel. He then said he didn’t know if there would be a wedding. “Don’t say that; it breaks my heart,” she sighed, then sat on his lap to make nice. He got up and left.
At Java, Philip was still reeling from the news that Victor planned to marry Vivian. It didn’t make sense to him. Kate overheard them talking and said she refused to allow Victor to marry Viv. “Maybe you could poison her. They say practice makes perfect,” he cracked. Melanie left. Philip then told his mother to turn it around on Vivian and act like a grownup about the marriage. Vivian entered the caf. “Let the games begin,” Phil quipped. The women tangled. Philip slipped out.
Melanie went home and talked to Maggie. There was a knock at the door — it was Victor. Maggie asked Mel to excuse them, then asked Vic what he wanted. She suspected it was to ask her to talk to Philip on his behalf and she said she wouldn’t do it. “You want me to help you smooth things over with Philip. Wouldn’t it be better if you not marry the woman who tried to kill his wife?” she asked. “He talks to Kate. She’s married to the man who tried to kill him,” Vic retorted, adding that he does love Philip very much. He enjoyed their chat. Victor headed home and arrived shortly after Vivian got back. She pretended she had been there all along. He seemed to have calmed down. She told him she had devoted herself to making him happy. “My God, what have I done?” he wondered.
At the townhouse, Will came in and spied Sami’s bloody lip and cut. She told her son she fought with Nicole earlier. He was horrified, then lamented that Anna and Nicole got away with everything. Sami assured Will that Rafe would make someone pay.
Rafe questioned Benny at the station. After, he went to Sami’s townhouse. She was happy to see him. A quick-thinking Will took Sydney to the park. After the teen left, Rafe noted that it was a “calculated” move. Sami told Rafe she wanted to be alone with him, then kissed him. They fell on the couch and leaned against a baby toy, which spoiled the mood. He wanted to leave, but she wanted to talk. She announced that she didn’t want them to be on a break anymore. He wasn’t so sure they could work things out. She was confident they could get through their problems. Rafe told her he loved her, but didn’t think they had the same idea about what love means. He left. Alone, she cried
At the Brady Pub, Nicole wondered why EJ was so interested in what Anna told her. “She’s got something on you, right?” Nicole smirked. EJ denied it, but she didn’t believe him. He changed the subject by pointing out that she still needed to pay for getting Anna released. She still wasn’t threatened and was determined to find out what he was hiding. An excited Kinsey came over to the table and asked if Nicole had changed her mind about giving her an autograph. Nicole said no. EJ told the teen to scram. When she realized EJ was a DiMera, she did. EJ again asked what Anna told Nicole and “wondered” if Anna and Nicole were in cahoots. She insisted they weren’t. He told her there wasn’t a punishment bad enough to make what she did to Sami okay. She was thrown that he was so worried about his ex. Noting her bruised face, he asked if she ran into a door or an old friend. She warned him to stay away from her or else she’d tell Rafe there was more to EJ’s story than he was telling.
Anna took a yoga class with her spa instructor. She felt stress-free — until EJ called and reported that Benny had been arrested. She wasn’t too concerned, though, noting that EJ had more to lose than she did. After, she got a massage, which started to hurt. That’s because Stefano was the one administering it!
Nicole ran into Will and Sydney. He was prepared to walk away, but she insisted she just wanted to say good-bye. Nic told the baby she would never forget her and thanked Will for allowing her to talk to Syd.
Melanie and Philip went to a hotel to finally have a wedding night.
