DAYS Week of March 2, 2009
Monday
Nicole told Brady that EJ forbade her from seeing him. Brady asked why Nicole was cowering like this. Nicole explained Philip knew they were keeping a secret from EJ and thought they were having an affair. Philip insisted Nicole convince EJ to give up the fuels project or he'd spill all. Brady asked why Nicole would let Philip blackmail her, when they weren't sleeping together. Nicole said she didn't want Philip poking around in her business. She was so close to getting everything she dreamed of. Brady noted Nicole's perfect life would go up in smoke, when EJ found out what she'd done. Nicole wouldn't listen, insisting she wanted some happiness and mentioned Sami being back in town. Nicole was sure Sami was out to steal EJ and admitted she didn't feel worthy of him. Brady assured Nicole she was beautiful, smart and funny. Nicole thanked Brady for being her best friend.
Philip asked EJ why he'd summoned him to the mansion. EJ said his company was no longer interested in the alternative fuels project. "Game over, just like that?" asked Philip. EJ insisted he didn't want a feud between their families. Philip swore he wouldn't hurt EJ's family. Nicole was his friend. EJ noted he'd advised Nicole to stay away from people not worth her time, like Philip. "Stay away from her," warned EJ. Philip said EJ didn't order him around and stormed off.
Chloe arrived at Maggie's to pick up Allie and pleaded with her to get along for Lucas' sake. Maggie asked about Daniel. Chloe insisted she wanted to make Lucas happy and told Maggie she got a sign from God that she and Lucas belonged together. Maggie agreed to keep Chloe and Daniel's affair secret for Lucas's sake.
Will arrived at the hospital, noting he'd heard Sami was getting out of the witness protection program and wanted to know about Lucas's accident. Lucas invited Will to stay with him and Chloe or with Sami. Will agreed the latter, which delighted Sami, who left to pick up Johnny. Later, Chloe brought Allie to Sami. Chloe mentioned Sami having had her baby. Sami flipped and tossed Chloe out. Sami remembered taking Grace to the convent, when there was a knock at the door. It was EJ delivering the laughing penguin. Sami told EJ he was a good father. EJ noted how much Johnny missed her while she was away. When Sami tended to Allie, EJ phoned Stefano, informing him Philip had taken the bait. Sami returned with the twins, and she and EJ enjoyed family time. EJ took the twins to bed, while Sami phoned Sister Teresa to check on Grace and reveal she was working on a plan. EJ returned and Sami asked why he was really there, questioning how happy he was at home. She asked if E J was reconsidering marrying Nicole. EJ pondered the idea; then announced, "What if I made her worst nightmare come true and married you?"
Back at the hospital, Lucas and Will discussed Will's love life and what happened to Lucas. Lucas admitted Chloe called off their engagement and he started drinking again. Then, he apologized to Will for letting him down. Chloe arrived and went to hug Will, but he backed off, accusing Chloe of being the reason his dad almost died.
Victor and Kate discussed her plans for revenge against Chloe. Kate admitted she wanted to cause Chloe "psychological pain." Victor was eager to help. Stefano interrupted. Victor told him he wasn't welcome, and the two men argued. Stefano asked about Kate's health, and she reported being in remission. Stefano suggested celebrating. Victor wasn't interested and left. Stefano told Kate how beautiful she looked and asked about her situation with Daniel. Kate reported they weren't dating any longer. She was free. Stefano suggested dinner. Kate agreed to think about it. Victor returned to the mansion, where Philip showed him the alternative fuels plan. He got Nicole to work on it, and EJ relinquished it to him. Victor asked how the project ever wound up in EJ's hands. He demanded Philip find out how Melanie managed that or find himself a new job. Philip was furious. Victor suggested this all had something to do with Stephanie. Philip told his father he and Step h were done.
Tuesday
Distraught over his breakup with Chloe, Daniel arrived at the Cheatin' Heart and ordered a drink. Chelsea went over to him, as Max watched. Max walked over and showed Chelsea a text "someone sent him." Chelsea read: Ditch him! Chelsea thought it was a juvenile move. Daniel went to call Chloe. Max told Chelsea she shouldn't be with Daniel, who returned and asked Chelsea to leave. She refused unless Daniel told her what was bothering him. Daniel didn't want to talk about it. Chelsea asked if this had something to do with Kate. Daniel told Chelsea that Kate was in remission. A delighted Chelsea hugged Daniel; then, told Max the good news. Daniel urged Chelsea to go be with Max and not worry about him. Chelsea agreed if Daniel stopped drinking. Chelsea went to Max and relayed Daniel's message. Then, she kissed him.
Nicole fumed when Mary told her EJ went to Marlena's house. At Marlena's, EJ wondered what would happen if he made Nicole's worst nightmare come true and married Sami. Sami made a wisecrack and EJ suggested she was jealous, because Nicole had him and she didn't. "Talk about arrogant," retorted Sami. EJ urged Sami not to fight with Nicole for their kids' sake. EJ's phone rang and it was Nicole. EJ confessed he was with Sami. Nicole fumed some more, while Sami made snide comments. Afterwards, EJ told Sami to cut Nicole some slack. She just had a baby. Sami got emotional. EJ thought Sami was jealous of Nicole and Sydney. Sami swore she wasn't. She was just worried about Sydney being raised in the DiMera house. Sami went on about Stefano grooming Johnny to be part of their evil family. Sami said she worried about EJ, too, because a part of her would always love him. EJ was taken aback. Sami promised not to spat with Nicole, if EJ vowed to protect Johnny. EJ said if his child wanted to join the family, it was his business. If he wanted to join the Peace Corp or the circus, that was up to him, too. Sami seemed affected and went to check on the twins. There was a knock on the door. EJ opened it to find Rafe. Sami ran over and hugged him.
Will apologized for accusing Chloe of being the reason Lucas almost died. Chloe conceded she was to blame and asked Lucas to forgive her. Will took off. Lucas told Chloe she wasn't to blame for his drinking. He acted like an idiot and didn't even ask why Chloe broke up with him. Lucas promised to make things better and begged Chloe for another chance. Chloe was overjoyed, insisting they'd be happy. Lucas said they needed be honest with each other and assured Chloe she could tell him anything. Lucas went on about how much he drank and wondered why he was at Daniel's apartment. Chloe's cell rang and it was Nicole, begging her to come over. Chloe told Lucas that Nicole was freaking out about Sami being with EJ. Chloe wondered why Nicole didn't say anything about the baby. Lucas informed her that Sami lost her baby, but made her promise not to say anything. Will returned and asked what they were talking about. Chloe left. Will asked if something was going on between his mom and EJ. Lucas said Sami and EJ were spending time together because of Johnny. Will told Lucas he'd be staying in Salem. Lucas was glad, since there was something he wanted his son to do: be his best man. Will left without answering.
Chloe told Nicole she broke up with Daniel. Nicole was confused, noting Chloe couldn't just flip a switch and have those feelings disappear. Chloe shared her story about praying to God that Lucas wouldn't die and promising to reconcile with him if he lived. The conversation turned to Sami and EJ. Nicole noted how EJ dropped everything to visit her and wondered what would happen if he knew about the baby. Chloe spilled the beans that Sami told Lucas she lost her baby. Nicole flashed back to Sami talking to the nuns about taking care of Grace. She wanted to phone EJ again. Chloe stopped her, assuring Nicole that EJ loved her. She just had to be the confident woman EJ fell in love with. Nicole agreed and vowed not to let Sami get to her. However, after Chloe left, Nicole realized doing nothing wasn't her style.
Wednesday
Max and Chelsea smooched in the dark at the Cheatin' Heart. Max broke away and asked Chelsea if she wanted a drink. The duo toasted Kate's good health. Then, Max commented on Chelsea's pretty eyes. Later, the pair were in the park talking. Before long they were kissing again. Chelsea wondered if this might be a mistake and said they should talk. She would hate losing Max as a friend, if they dated and things didn't work out. Max assured things would work out. Still, Chelsea was hesitant. Max swore he who would do anything to make her happy, and they resumed kissing.
Hope asked Bo what he was thinking about, right after he had another vision of her in bed with another man. Bo recounted their times apart over the years and said he never wanted Hope to leave him again. Hope sensed something was amiss and asked Bo what was wrong. Bo admitted he had a vision of her making love to another man. Hope was stunned. Why couldn't he foresee happy things, like them winning the lottery? Bo and Hope tried to make sense of the vision. Then, Bo asked if Hope came home because she wanted to or because of Ciara. Hope understood and assured Bo he was the only man she loved or wanted. Then, she suggested proving it to him, and the couple headed upstairs. Moments later, Chelsea and Max arrive d. Chelsea thanked Max for a great date, and they shared a passionate kiss goodnight.
Nicole mumbled to Sydney about EJ spending time with that nasty girl who gave birth to her. “What did you say?” asked Stefano. Nicole deflected, noting she hated when EJ was with Sami. Stefano noted how threatened Nicole seemed by Sami's return and reminded her Sami and EJ shared a child. He urged her not to let EJ and Sami's relationship turn her into a nagging shrew. Nicole claimed she was emotional because she just had a baby, but swore she wasn't scared of Sami. Stefano left, and Nicole contemplated her next move. Namely, finding out why Sami told Lucas that Mia's baby was dead. Later, Nicole arrived at the convent and found Sister Theresa and baby Grace. Nicole wondered why Sami said the baby died. Nicole told Grace she was beautiful and apologized for giving her to Sami. Then, she had a thought. Maybe it didn't have to be that way. Stefano's minion arrived at the mansion and reported he'd followed Nicole to a convent.
Sami hugged Rafe; then, introduced him to EJ. EJ thanked Rafe for looking after Sami. Rafe made remarks about the DiMeras. Sami told EJ that Rafe makes a bad first impression. When Sami went to fetch the twins, Rafe and EJ exchanged barbs. Rafe asked where EJ's fianc and new baby were. EJ said it was none of Rafe's business. Rafe and Sami played with the twins, until EJ took them to bed. Sami told Rafe that EJ was a good dad. Rafe pointed out that Sami wasn't telling him he had another kid. Sami insisted it was EJ's father who worried her. Rafe pulled out a surprise for Sami: a picture of Grace. He told Sami he went to the convent to see her and that it wasn't right Grace wasn't with her. Sami said she had to stay away from Grace for now. Sami and Rafe recounted their time together at the safe house, while EJ listened. Rafe informed Sami he had to go to DC on business. EJ interrupted noting the twins wanted a kiss from their mommy. Sami rushed to them. EJ suggested Rafe leave. Rafe refused, and suggested EJ go, noting he seemed awfully concerned about Sami for someone who had moved on. EJ noted he and Sami shared a son. He'd always be protective of her. "Protective or possessive?" retorted Rafe. EJ erupted and ordered Rafe to leave. Sami returned and told EJ he couldn't order Rafe out. Rafe got a call and said he had to leave for Washington right away. Sami made him promise he'd return. Rafe said would, if that's what she wanted. Sami begged Rafe to be careful and they kissed, as EJ watched.
Thursday
Bo had a nightmare of Hope and a mystery man in bed. Hope woke up and tried to comfort him. She insisted she'd never be unfaithful and this vision wouldn't come true. Bo said it might. Hope suggested not calling them visions anymore, but thoughts and urged Bo to put them out of his mind.
Chelsea woke up and kissed Max. Soon, the couple were making love. Afterwards, they discussed their former relationship. "Why'd you pick me, anyway?" asked Chelsea. Max admitted she was beautiful and a challenge. Max saw the clock and realized he had to go. He ran downstairs and smack into Bo, just as Chelsea came running down with Max's wallet. Hope arrived on the scene. Bo informed her Max spent the night there; then, went off on him about being with Chelsea under his roof. Max apologized. Bo tossed him out. Chelsea yelled at her dad for behaving this way. Hope calmed Bo down, and he said he'd talk to Max. Hope said she'd do that. Bo needed to tend to Chelsea. Upstairs, Chelsea packed her things. Bo said he'd overreacted. Chelsea suggested he apologize to Max. Bo promised he would. Father and daughter made up, but Chelsea announced she was moving in with Steph. Bo had another vision and wondered who the man20with Hope was.
Chloe and Nicole tried on dresses at a bridal shop. Nicole said she was going to look beautiful and elegant at her wedding, everything Sami wasn't. Chloe didn't get why Nicole felt threatened by Sami, since she lost her baby. Nicole thought back to Sami's baby being very much alive. Later, Chloe emerged in a beautiful bridal gown, noting how she wanted Lucas to know she'd love and cherish him forever. "Is it Lucas you're trying to convince or yourself?" asked Nicole. Chloe swore she was committed to Lucas. Later, the gals arrived at the pub. Nicole warned Chloe her wedding day was closing in to the point of no return. Chloe got a call and had to go.
Daniel and Brady met at the park. Daniel noted he'd been out drinking the night before and was having trouble gearing up for a run. Brady asked if it had something to do with Kate. Daniel admitted it was someone else and flashed to Chloe. "Is it over?" asked Brady. Daniel swore it would never be over for him. Brady brought up his past issues with Chloe. Daniel didn't want to talk about it any more, and they resumed running.
Hope found Max at the Cheatin' Heart and reported Bo had calmed down. Max said he'd forgiven Bo, but wondered if Chelsea would. Later, Hope bumped into Daniel. Daniel said he was running to keep his sanity. Hope sensed Daniel was unhappy, but didn't want to intrude. Hope left, just as=2 0Chloe walked up, spotted Daniel, and turned to leave. Chloe bumped into Brady. "Where's the fire?" he asked.
EJ complained to Roman about allowing Rafe to protect Sami. Sami stormed in and was furious. EJ said he wanted to file a complaint against Rafe. It wasn't appropriate for Sami to be having a relationship with her bodyguard. The two bickered. Roman got a call and split. Sami asked EJ what he had against Rafe; then, realized he saw her and Rafe kissing. EJ asked how much Sami knew about Rafe and accused her of being madly in love with him. Sami said Rafe was better than any of the guys she'd been with in years. Sami admitted she kissed Rafe because she had feelings for him. EJ called Sami on her taste in men. "You're the one who's marrying Nicole with her history," spat Sami. EJ asked if Sami wanted to pursue a relationship with Rafe, noting she was like a dog with a bone when she wanted something. Sami yelled she didn't pursue men anymore.
Back at the pub, Michelle picked up a Sydney. Nicole asked her to hold the baby while she went outside to make a call. Sami arrived, went up to Michelle, and took Sydney in her arms. Nicole watched and fumed.
Roman phoned EJ and apologized for leaving him hanging earlier. Roman said the topic of Rafe was off limits. EJ just wanted to know if Rafe was going to his job in Washington. Roman said he make some calls and pull some strings. EJ was thri lled. The sooner Rafe got out of town the better.
Friday
Chloe turned to leave after seeing Daniel in the park and bumped into Brady. Brady quickly got the drift. He said he'd talked to Daniel earlier and asked if Chloe needed someone to talk to. Daniel joined Brady and Chloe; then, ran off. Brady told Chloe about Daniel's hangover, noting something was eating at him. Brady wondered what was eating at Chloe. Might it be her upcoming wedding? Maybe she hadn't picked the right guy. Brady offered to listen. Chloe declined and left.
Melanie arrived at the DiMera mansion demanding the rest of her money from EJ. EJ said Melanie wasn't getting another dime. Their contract became null and void if he didn't follow through with the project and he wasn't going to do. Melanie pouted. EJ suggested not doing that when she went running back to Philip. Melanie stormed off.
Stephanie walked into Philip's office, and he kissed her. Philip suggested reconciling. While Steph admitted liking Philip, she swore she'd be an idiot to trust him again. Philip said he couldn't get Steph out of his head. Melanie interrupted, raging about EJ and the fuels project. EJ wasn't going through with it, which could provide an opportunity for her and Philip. Philip explained he could forge ahead, solo, and that Titan could sue her for breach of promise. "It's over. You lost," announced Philip, ordering Melanie out. Steph laced into Philip for kicking Melanie when she was down and acting shallow like his father. Steph noted who they were and where they came from made them incompatible.
Melanie turned up at the Cheatin' Heart and whined to Max about the fuels project. Max suggested she take it as a wake up call. Melanie turned to leave and bumped into Brady, who asked how she was. "Ask Philip," she replied. Melanie left and Brady went after her.
"Give me my baby, now!" ordered Nicole, upon catching Sami holding Sydney. Sami was outraged and told Nicole they needed to talk. She'd already discussed her situation with EJ, but needed to get things straight with Nicole. Sami recounted how EJ went to see Roman about Rafe and was butting into her life. Sami insisted she didn't want EJ involved in her life any more and suggested Nicole tell him to stop obsessing about her and Johnny or he could risk losing Nicole and Sydney. Then, Sami played her trump card: EJ saw Sami and Rafe kiss and went ballistic. "None of us may want to admit it, but what E.J. and I had...it's still there," said Sami, insisting she didn't want EJ, just to work together with Nicole.
Kate and Stefano chatted at the pub, as he watched Sami and Nicole. Kate informed Stefano she was having l unch with Chloe, "the bug that needs to be squashed." Stefano asked what incurred Kate's wrath. Kate wouldn't say, but assured Chloe would regret it. Stefano left. Chloe arrived and showed Kate a picture of her wedding dress. Kate wondered if Chloe might have problems settling down to dull married life, as she remembered seeing Chloe and Daniel kissing. Daniel arrived, and Kate asked him to join them. She wanted his take on Chloe's dress. Daniel said he liked it; then, headed to the bar. "Do you really think I don't know what's going on? I saw the way you were looking at him," Kate taunted. Chloe got uncomfrotable. Kate said Daniel obviously didn't like the dress and suggested Chloe find something more flattering.
Stefano told EJ he saw Sami with Nicole. He suggested the pair were conspiring behind his back. EJ thought the two women were attempting to work together for the sake of their children. Later, father and son discussed business. Namely, how Melanie trotted back to Titan after EJ rejected her. EJ worked on the computer. Stefano wondered if Philip knew he was about to be blown out of the water. At Titan, Steph opened a computer file per Philip's orders and noted something wasn't right. Nicole returned to the mansion and confronted EJ about trying to run Sami's life. "What the hell does it matter to you who Sami kisses?" she barked. Meanwhile, Stefano ordered his henchman to return to the convent and find out why Sami was there.
Sami called Sister Theresa to check on Grace. Sister Theresa said everyone was fussing over Grave, even the woman who stopped by yesterday. "What woman? Who was there?" asked a panicked Sami.
