DAYS Week of March 17, 2008

Monday

Paul, the customs official, met with John on the docks and bemoaned how he used to have a first-class lifestyle before he started having to pay his ex-wife alimony and child support. John went on about Paul having power over what went through customs and asked if he and Victor were friends. "Not particularly," said Paul, noting that the shipping business was Victor's bread and butter. John wanted some of that bread and butter. He told Paul to follow up on their "understanding" and he'd be back swinging a polo mallet in no time.

Marlena met with Philip to warn him about what John was up to. Namely, being obsessed with business and ready to take Philip and the Kiriakis family down. Marlena wanted Philip to avoid a turf war. John wasn't himself these days. He was too taken with living in the mansion and having money. John found the duo and asked if Marlena was giving trade secrets to his competitor. Philip said he and the DiMeras had an agreement. John said that deal was with Stefano. Philip suggested coming up with a new deal, where they both profited. John wasn't interested in having them both profit. He wanted to liquidate Kiriakis shipping. Philip warned there would be a high price to pay. Marlena and Philip's cell phones rang. It was Belle and Victor delivering word on Bo's condition. Marlena and Philip prepared to head to the hospital. "This is why you will lose," John told Philip. "You concern yourself with trivial personal matters." Marlena was appalled.

Shawn put a drunken Chelsea on a gurney, as Daniel instructed a nurse to get some sobering drugs into her system, stat! Shawn told Chelsea that she was a match for the transplant. Chelsea was thrilled, until Daniel told her surgery wasn't an option in her current state. Daniel hoped he could get Chelsea's alcohol level down before Bo died. Daniel ordered Kate and Shawn out of Chelsea's room, then he yelled at her. Chelsea screamed right back. When Daniel walked out, Shawn scolded him for his actions. Daniel explained he'd goaded Chelsea on purpose, so her heart would pump faster and her IV fluids would flow through her body. "Now we have a chance," noted Daniel. Shawn filled Daniel in on Chelsea's past and Zack and Ford's deaths. Daniel returned to Chelsea's room and told her the only way to get the alcohol out of her system was to get angry. He made her mad on purpose. Daniel admitted he might have pushed her too far, then left. Kate approached Daniel and warned him never to talk to Chelsea like that again. Shawn defended Daniel, explaining why he'd goaded her.

The Bradys gathered in Bo's room as Lexie prepared to take him to pre-op. Bo said there would be no surgery. He wouldn't risk Chelsea's life. Caroline and Hope tried to talk sense into him. Kayla arrived, noting Chelsea was at the hospital. Hope said it was God's way of telling them to go through with this. Lexie injected Bo with more pain medicine, so he'd drift off. Then, Lexie and Kayla urged Hope to sign the surgery consent form or Bo would die. Hope signed, despite knowing how angry Bo would be. After kissing Bo, Hope went into the hall to join Victor and Caroline. Belle announced that Chelsea was drunk. Kayla and Lexie explained how they couldn't perform surgery until Chelsea's system was flushed. Alone, Hope told Belle that because of Chelsea's stupidity, Bo might die. If he did, Hope would never forgive her. Hope headed to see Chelsea, while Caroline stepped in to see Bo. Caroline noted that Chelsea was at the hospital. Bo begged his mother to tell him there wouldn't be an operation. Kayla and Lexie arrived just as Bo's monitors sounded off. Kayla began CPR. Meanwhile, Hope arrived at Chelsea's room and listened as she told Kate she would die for her father. Hope turned and left. Marlena and Philip arrived at the hospital, followed by John. Daniel and Hope raced into Bo's room. "If we have to wait to operate, you might want to say goodbye," Daniel told Hope.

Tuesday

Daniel told Hope she might want to say goodbye to Bo, as she, Shawn and Victor tried to process the thought of losing him. Hope begged Daniel to do something. Daniel said he'd try but if Chelsea's system didn't purge the alcohol soon, there was nothing he could do. Steve and Marlena were surprised to find John at the hospital. Marlena was pleased, noting she heard a little concern for Bo in his voice. "Don't push it, Blondie," cautioned John. Marlena vowed to keep pushing until she got through to the real John. Roman arrived and Lexie told him that having everyone there watching their every move made their jobs harder. Roman gathered the troops and suggested they move to the waiting area. In Bo's room, Daniel asked Hope to leave for a few minutes. Then, he told Lexie and Kayla that he wanted to retest a few things. Daniel asked them to meet him in the lab.

Hope revealed the latest on Bo to Victor and Caroline: nothing had changed. Philip chatted with Roman about wanting to be "more like a family" with Bo. Marlena and Belle discussed how good it was to see John there. Kate consoled Chelsea, who realized she'd be in surgery trying to save Bo if she wasn't drunk. Kate suggested Chelsea take this time to think things through, since she could die during the operation. "I have to do this," insisted Chelsea, asking Kate to get her some water. When Kate went to fetch it, Chelsea yanked out her IV and split.

Meanwhile, Stephanie comforted a dejected Max. He'd just lost his Pop and couldn't deal with possibly losing his brother, too. The Bradys saved his life. Steph said that Max was a lifesaver, noting how he'd helped with the whole Ford situation. Kate interrupted noting that they'd found a donor for Bo: Chelsea. "You don't sound so excited," said Max. Kate delivered the drunk as a skunk news, noting the transplant couldn't be performed until the alcohol was out of Chelsea's system. Kate asked the duo to visit Chelsea to cheer her up, and they agreed. When they arrived at Chelsea's room, she was gone. Kate delivered the bad news to Roman and it spread like wildfire. Hope and Caroline were stunned that Chelsea had disappeared again. While hospital security, Steve, John and some others searched for the missing Chelsea, Daniel and company rechecked Bo's results, when Lexie found something and asked him to take a look. Later, Marlena thanked John for being there. Having him nearby lifted her spirits. "It's like when we were together before," she sighed. "We were that good?" asked John. "Better," declared Marlena, admitting that's why it was hard for her to watch John do things like declare war on the Kiriakis family. "I will do what it takes to gain control," announced John.

Hope went to check on Bo and, through the glass, saw Chelsea lying next to him, apologizing for the past and professing her love for her dad. Daniel and Hope entered Bo's room. Chelsea asked Daniel if he'd found something to save her dad. "Save him? No. Free up a little time? I sure hope so," he retorted. Lexie took Chelsea for another blood screening. Later, she was visited by Steph and Max. Chelsea relayed how she hoped she'd be ready for transplant surgery soon. If her dad didn't make it, it could be her fault. The trio prayed for Bo.

Daniel checked on Bo, whose heart rate had gotten a tad stronger and faster. Bo opened his eyes to find Kayla staring at him. "You're kind of creeping me out," cracked Bo, as he and Kayla exchanged some brother/sister banter. "You just have to get better," urged Kayla. Bo swore he was trying. Hope visited her ailing hubby, then asked Daniel about Chelsea. Daniel said they'd have the results of her blood-alcohol screening soon. Hope was sure Chelsea was going to come through for Bo. An orderly arrived to take Chelsea to pre-op, while Lexie delivered the good news to Daniel and a delighted Hope. "You're going to make it, Brady. I know you are," she whispered.

Wednesday

Hope was at Bo's bedside when Lexie and Kayla arrived and explained his surgery was about to get underway. Outside, Belle told Shawn and Philip what was happening. Shawn wished he could have been Bo's donor. Belle said Shawn gave Bo a reason to keep fighting by telling him their plans. "What plans?" asked Philip. Belle dodged the question.

John asked Marlena if the Bradys were cursed. Marlena assured him they weren't. They were blessed with a family who loved each other, and John was part of it. Caroline asked Max and Stephanie about Chelsea. They assured she was fine and wanted to help save her dad. Marlena approached Belle and Shawn to see how they were holding up. John followed and commented on how tense things were. He didn't understand Marlena or Belle wanting to work in a hospital. Roman and Steve checked on Steph and Max.

Chelsea talked to Billie on the phone and told her mom not to worry about not being there. Then she hung up and thanked Kate for offering her support. Kate was worried about the procedure, but Chelsea insisted she had to do this for her dad. Daniel walked in and asked if Chelsea was sure. Chelsea assured him she was. She loved her dad. Meanwhile, Hope said goodbye to Bo and urged him to fight; their whole family needed him. Victor and Caroline wished their son well as they wheeled him off. Roman and the rest of the family followed suit.

Nick arrived just in time to see Chelsea before surgery, admitting he didn't want to lose her. Chelsea assured him he wouldn't. The orderly arrived to take Chelsea to OR, as Nick, Kate, Max and Steph told her they loved her. Hope stopped Chelsea to say she was proud of her and loved her. Chelsea asked to stop beside Bo's gurney. She'd heard he didn't want her going through with the operation and told him she was disobeying him, again. "I couldn't live with myself if I didn't," she noted. Then, father and daughter were wheeled into the OR for the transplant.

Outside, Max, Steph, Nick and Steve played cards, while Shawn told Belle how nervous he was. Kate said hi to John, introducing herself as his ex-fiancé. "Are we on good terms?" he asked. "We're friends," responded Kate, offering John a friendly warning that going up against Philip and Victor was dangerous. Hope and Roman headed to the chapel to light a candle. John told Marlena he didn't understand why everyone was still there moping around. The surgery would take hours. John said he was leaving. Marlena accompanied him to the docks. She asked if John had any memory of his brainwashing. "Mostly the pain," responded John, noting that he wasn't a fan of hospitals and probably wouldn't care of Bo died. Marlena doubted that, since John did show up. John's cell rang and it was Paul, the customs guy, wanting to discuss their arrangement over Kiriakis shipments. John said he'd get back to him, then lied and told Marlena it was Stefano's lawyer.

Philip and Belle chatted about being friends again. Belle wished Philip luck with finding someone special. Meanwhile, Kate, who joined the card players, pulled out a royal flush. Roman commented about seeing Caroline and Victor together. "They're bonding over Bo," explained Hope. Steve encouraged Hope to keep thinking positive. A nurse emerged reporting that Chelsea's pancreas section had been successfully removed, and Bo's surgery was underway. Everyone rejoiced. Back in the OR, Kayla pointed out a possible problem. Daniel thought it made things more challenging, and he liked a good challenge.

Thursday

Anna burst into Tony's office while he tended to business with Ethan and Morgan. "I want him," she announced, pointing to Ethan. Ethan said he was into aggressive older women. "Not for that," assured Anna, who just needed help at her firm. Tony pointed out that Anna couldn't afford Ethan. Anna wondered if maybe Morgan could help her out. She needed an assistant, since Stephanie was at the hospital with Chelsea and Bo. Anna went on about wanting to get an account. Tony surmised it was Kate's account and revealed his company was working on that, too. Anna showed Tony her portfolio. "How nostalgic," commented Tony. Ethan showed Anna their complex presentation on his computer. Anna asked Tony for help. Instead, he went on about Anna being hardheaded. Anna countered by smashing a painting over Tony's head. Tony sent his employees off and approached Anna. They bickered, then they kissed. Tony pushed Anna onto the couch and challenged her to admit she wanted him. Anna admitted it, and they succumbed to passion. Later, Ethan knocked on the door and asked if everything was okay. Tony and Anna tidied themselves up, and Anna left.

At the hospital, Steve and Roman complained about the chairs and the coffee while waiting for word on Bo, while Kate tried to nudge Chelsea into consciousness. Daniel walked in just as Chelsea stirred and examined her. Chelsea asked about her dad. Daniel said the surgery went well. Chelsea urged Kate to go home and get some rest. Alone, Daniel praised Chelsea for the brave thing she'd done. Steph arrived, and Daniel made her promise to make sure Chelsea rested. When Daniel left, Steph commented on how "hot" he was. Then, she praised Chelsea for saving her dad's life. Steph told Chelsea that Nick had to go, but would be back soon. The conversation turned back to Daniel, as Chelsea admitted she felt good about herself when Daniel said she did a good job. In the hall, Kate told Daniel to take good care of Chelsea or he'd have her to deal with. Chelsea told Steph she wanted to see her dad. Steph offered to check on Bo, since she was supposed to rest. Chelsea marveled over the transplant and how it was a life-changing experience.

Hope and Caroline kept vigil over Bo as Lexie and Kayla walked in. Caroline and Lexie urged Kayla to go home and rest. Steve arrived and concurred. He thought Caroline should go home and rest, too. Kayla and Caroline refused to budge. Suddenly, Bo stirred. "How can I get any sleep with all this arguing going on?" he muttered. Caroline and Hope were thrilled. "I knew you'd make it back to me," said Hope. "Back? Without the surgery?" asked Bo. Hope explained she'd signed the consent forms. She wasn't about to let him die and neither was Chelsea.

Steve and Kayla returned home, where he popped a bottle of cider to toast his wife. When Steve headed out to get some food, Kayla experienced some cramping. Steve returned, and he and Kayla kissed. Steve went to fetch Kayla some water. Again, she doubled over in pain.

Lexie announced Bo was awake to the waiting room crowd. Shawn headed to see his dad, while Philip pulled Belle aside. Belle admitted she and Shawn were planning a trip around the world. Philip fretted about never seeing Claire again. Belle promised he would always be part of her life. Philip wished Belle a bon voyage, and they embraced. Back in Bo's room, Daniel asked Hope to leave so he could examine Bo. Then, he walked into the waiting room and told everyone the latest. If Chelsea's partial pancreas picked up the slack for Bo's and his body didn't reject it, there was no reason he couldn't make a full recovery. Back in his room, Bo called out for Hope.

Friday

While Rolf worked on his "lousy" accent at John's request, John made a call to have one of the Kiriakis ships detained. Moments later, Belle, Shawn and Claire showed up to say goodbye to John. When Belle told him they were
leaving, he seemed unaffected, casually mentioning that they could have saved the trip over and just sent a postcard. Shawn defended Belle, and told John he should be more sensitive. John then offered to buy them a boat to sail away on. Shawn initially declined, then Belle said she wanted to take it so she could have something from her dad. John was glad they accepted his offer, and Belle hugged John and thanked him. John seemed fine until he said goodbye to Claire. "You're the only one in this whole town who really got me," he whispered in Claire's ear as his eyes teared up.

When Belle and Shawn went to the hospital to say goodbye to Bo and Hope, Hope was surprised to hear that Belle and Shawn would be leaving so soon. Bo was proud to see that his son would be following in his footsteps and sailing across the world. Hope was happy for them, but admitted she would miss Shawn terribly. They all shared a round of hugs and tears before Shawn and Belle left. "Smooth sailing," Bo said as they walked out of the door.

On the docks, Max unloaded shipments as part of his community service requirements. Paul told Max to reload the Kiriakis boats because the
contents were being quarantined. When Paul stepped away, Max called Philip to give him a heads up about what was going on. When Philip made it down to the docs, he and Paul argued about the detainment. Philip accused Paul of sabotaging his shipment, and Paul threatened to open an investigation if he didn't walk away. Paul suspected that Max gave Philip the tip and asked him if he knew anything about it.

Meanwhile, Steve caught Kayla working at the hospital when she was supposed to be home resting. Kayla said she wanted to check on Bo, but Steve told her that she needs to rest in order to look after the baby and let someone else handle Bo. When Kayla returned, she questioned Steve about the mysterious man she'd seen lurking around the hospital. Steve shrugged it off initially, then told Kalya he had something he needed to share with her. Steve was about to confess to hiring someone to watch her, but changed his mind when Kayla got
a page to go do a consultation.

Marlena went to see Victor to talk to him about Isabella. Victor admitted
that he wanted to vent but felt he had no one to talk to. He said how much
he wished he'd had more time to spend with Isabella but was grateful he
could be there for Bo. "I've always truly, deeply loved my children," he
said. While they chatted, Philip called Victor to let him know what was
happening with their shipments, and that he thought John was behind the
problems. When Victor got off the phone and told Marlena he had to go look into the issue, she immediately assumed John was involved.

When Victor went to the docs, he thanked Max for giving Philip the heads up and asked him if he could do it on a regular basis. Max asked if Victor wanted him to spy, but Victor assured Max that he only wanted him to keep an eye on things, so Max greed.

Meanwhile, Philip went to confront John about his latest trick. In the
middle of their argument, Marlena came in and told John how disappointed she was in his dirty stunt. John dismissed Marlena's feelings and told her he was just getting started. After Marlena stormed out, Philip followed, warning John that their feud wasn't over.
