Days Of Our Lives Recaps
DAYS Week of June 2, 2008
Monday
At the Kiriakis mansion, Philip asked if Chloe is certain that she can handle no-strings sex. She insisted that she's into being friends-with-benefits and they hit the sheets... Morgan was waiting at Chez Rouge when she got a call from Stephanie, who apologized that she and Max had had to bow out because he felt that he was dressed too casually. Afterward, Max declared to his girlfriend that he has a Rain Man-style way with numbers, but, "I'm the son of an Irish immigrant fisherman." She said she accepts him as he is.
When baby Johnny was fussy, Sami told Lucas that only EJ singing a certain song works on the infant. Lucas offered to sing and crooned "Frère Jacques" in his best English accent. Johnny instantly stopped wailing. "We don't need EJ, do we?" smirked a triumphant Lucas.
At Chez Rouge, Nicole showed EJ how to down tequila shots. A boozy EJ confessed that he's keeping a bombshell from Sami, he plans on lying to her that their annulment is invalid. Nic was entertained by his scheming and egged him on for more details. After a lot of licking on salt and sucking on limes, Nic reminded the Brit that there are other women out there, but EJ made it clear that Sami is the one for him. She brought up Lucas, but EJ dismissed his rival as "a boy".... Bo and Hope shared a slow dance and smooched.... Morgan was delighted to run into Paul, who told his daughter that he was out celebrating because he believes he won't be indicted the next day. She wondered how he could be so calm after drug bust down on the docks, but Paul said that he had nothing to do with that....
Abe and Roman questioned John at the police station. John maintained that Philip is the one who framed him for drug trafficking. John left for his night court arraignment. A short time later, John was pleased to hear that "Blondie" paid his bail and he's free to go.
After having sex with Philip, Chloe got ready to go back to her room, pointing out that friends-with-benefit don't stay the night. She found a disk among his things and he snapped at her about it, then changed the subject... Back at Chez Rouge, Bo and Hope approached Paul and Morgan. Bo asked Paul if he knew about what happened at the docks. Paul's phone rang; it was Philip calling. Paul said he knew why Kiriakis had called. After hanging up, Paul claimed that he had been talking to an "old friend" and claimed that he didn't know anything about the drug bust.
Sami got a call from Maggie, who reported that EJ and Nicole were causing a scene at Chez Rouge. Despite saying that EJ is no longer her husband, Sami rushed to the restaurant. EJ didn't want to leave, declaring himself a single man. Nic accused her nemesis of just being jealous that they were out together. Nic looked unhappy when Sami dragged EJ out of the restaurant.... As Lucas roamed the mansion in search of Sami, John came home and asked where his "lovely wife" is. He ran upstairs to find her. Sami came home with a drunken EJ, who was literally falling down drunk. As a laughing EJ sprawled on the floor, Lucas observed that it is the second time Sami has acted like a jealous wife over Nicole.... John came downstairs with a note from Marlena. "She's left me," he said.
Tuesday
Sami encouraged Lucas to serve his house arrest at the DiMera mansion, pointing out all the luxurious amenities. Lucas was more interested in once again asking how Sami could have moved on with EJ. The escalating squabble died down when a grim-faced John came in. Sami noticed that he'd taken the huge picture of Marlena down. She reported that she'd heard from Marlena, who had to leave town because Eric (Sami's twin) was in a car accident. Sami noted that Eric was injured, but will be okay. John grumbled that Marlena is still using it as an excuse to run away from him. Sami fretted when John stalked out of the room, fearful what he'll do if he's given up on Marlena. Kate strolled in to welcome home her son, snipe at Sami and set about making plans to have him moved to another location.
At the Brady Pub, Hope, Bo, Caroline, Chelsea and Max were enthusiastic as they went about making "green" improvements, such as switching to energy-efficient power. They celebrated by lifting their glasses in a toast with green beer.... EJ ambled into the pub for a hangover cure. Nicole came along and suggested a coffee drink. Caroline let her get behind the bar and serve it up herself. Elvis clearly didn't recall much from their rowdy night. Nicole remembered plenty (that's foreshadowing, people...).
A striking brunette named Yvonne Li showed up at Chez Rouge for a breakfast meeting with Philip. Chloe walked in, planting a conspicuous kiss on her new lover. Philip introduced Yvonne, who is from the Hong Kong division of Titan. Chloe explained that she was also there for a breakfast meeting and hurried to give a warm greeting to Arthur Perkins, her real estate agent. After his request that Chloe not move out fell on deaf ears, Philip went back to Yvonne and handed her the encrypted disk.
Steve, Kayla and Stephanie were at home when Steve got a call: the baby had taken a turn for the worse. The family hurried to University Hospital. Joey's heart rate had slowed down, his blood pressure was dropping and he had fluid in his lungs. Responding to Stephanie's tearful call, Max came from the pub to stand by his girlfriend. Kayla and Steve donned scrubs and visited Joey, still in an incubator. Steve prayed and Kayla pleaded with the tiny infant to pull through. Chelsea watched them through the nursery window and put her hand to her stomach.... As the Johnsons prayed and cried, Joey's monitor started sounding. His vitals were looking better!
Lucas objected to Kate's insults about Sami and told her he's sticking by his family and staying where he is. EJ returned home in time to see Lucas and Sami embrace and coo about how their relationship will work. The Brit announced that he doesn't think things will work for them because Sami is still his wife. EJ "revealed" that the annulment had been denied because they've been intimate and share a child. According to EJ, the judge said the annulment is "dead in the water." Kate smirked and started yammering again about moving Lucas, but he refused. EJ received a phone call from Nic, who asked how his "bombshell" went over with Sami. "You told me everything," she purred to a dumbfounded EJ; he quickly ended the call.
John headed to the Brady Pub, where Hope approached him, surprised that he's out on bail. She said that he has to prove that he's not responsible for the drug trafficking. John planned to do just that. He walked outside and phoned Philip to arrange a meeting. Kiriakis was all too happy to meet his nemesis and headed out of Chez Rouge. Chloe wanted to know where he was going, but he brushed her off. Back outside the pub, nosy Nicole followed John.
Wednesday
Daniel surprised Lexie with breakfast at the hospital. She said she'd miss
him when he leaves Salem. When Lex got cream cheese on her nose, Dr. Jonas leaned in thisclose ... and playfully wiped it off. Abe dropped by to visit his wife. While Abe waited for Lex, Daniel heaped on praise about Dr.
Carver. When Lexie walked in, Abe invited her to grab a coffee, she didn't
have time and mentioned that Daniel beat him to the punch. Later on, Lexie
met with Abe at the Brady Pub. They discussed meeting with Theo's teacher
and she again voiced her concerns that something is wrong with their son.
Lucas agreed to watch the twins for Sami, but EJ objected to having a
"felon" babysit. Since EJ had to go to court, Sami said that she would take
Johnny and let Lucas watch Allie. At the Java Café a short time
later, Sami received a call from Lucas, who was trying to find a screeching
Allie's doll. After advising him where to look, Sami hung up and was
surprised to see EJ, who greeted her with a kiss on the cheek. He told her
that he'd always make sure that both the twins were provided for. The
parents cooed over Johnny, but Sami was taken aback when EJ called them "a
team." After EJ left, Roman arrived to meet Sami. Before they could talk,
Nicole sauntered in, claiming to have info about Sami's marriage.... Back at
the DiMera mansion, Lucas finally found the missing doll, but while his back was turned, his daughter wandered away. Lucas ran after her, which forced him to leave the perimeter of his ankle monitor. Two cops arrived at the
DiMera manse. After notifying Lucas that he violated the terms of his
house-arrest, they slapped on the cuffs. Despite Lucas's protests, the
officers said that Child Services would take care of Allie and hauled him
down to the station.
Max got upset as he observed Nick and Dean Robbins discussing his
fuel-efficient prototype at the pub. Much to Stephanie's dismay, he blurted
that he had to go and bolted.... John arrived at the Kiriakis mansion for a
face-off with Philip over the drug trafficking bust. Philip claimed he had
nothing to do with framing John, who taunted that Philip will never measure
up to Victor. Chloe walked in and John left. Chloe told Philip she believes
in him. A moment later, Victor returned home and ordered Philip to get the "witch" out of his house immediately. Chloe skedaddled. Vic said that Brady has a long recovery ahead of him and it's all Chloe's fault. Victor also announced that he's taking back control of the shipping business because
Philip botched things up.
Daniel dropped by Java for a soy latte. He called Chelsea, saying he needs
to see her. Chelsea showed up. Daniel told her that he's "kind of been hooking up" with a woman in Salem. Chelsea thought he was making it up, but Daniel kept it up, insinuating that he can't name his lover because the
woman is married. Nearby, Sami and Roman demanded to know what Nicole had to say about Sami's marriage. They were interrupted when Lucas phoned Sami with the news that he's under arrest. Sami and Roman rushed to the station. Sami blasted Lucas and was reunited with their daughter.
Morgan came looking for her dad on the piers. She found him, but Paul said
that the piers are too dangerous and Morgan shouldn't be there. Max showed up early for a community-service gig at the docks. One of the workers started giving him heat about his "cushy" job at the pub and how privileged the Bradys are. Max slugged the meathead. Morgan rushed over. Nick and Stephanie showed up, too. Nick asked his friend what's wrong with him, but Max refused to talk about it. He stormed off, and encountered John, who asked about a Kiriakis shipment. Max denied knowing anything and insisted that he won't get involved in a turf war. Things escalated when John literally got pushy and Max yelled, "Do you want to take me on?"... Morgan found her dad at the pub and asked why he took off. He said that he wants her to stay away from the docks so that she'll be safe.
Thursday
Nicole dropped by the DiMera mansion to urge EJ to speed up her divorce. Sami, Lucas and Baby Johnny returned — with police escorts. (Roman pulled strings to get him off the hook.) EJ was appalled to find out about Lucas's arrest for violating the house-arrest rules. Lucas's explanation of how he chased after Allie when she wandered away only vexed EJ more. While EJ derided his rival's parenting skills, Sami was more concerned with tossing Nic out of the house. Once alone, Sami told Lucas she thinks he shouldn't be by himself with the twins for now. That said, when EJ left the house, Sami allowed Lucas to stay with the kids while she went out.
At University Hospital, Renee continued to press Daniel to stick around. She confided to Daniel that Theo's teacher thinks the boy needs to go to see a child development specialist. He comforted her with a hug, just as Chelsea walked in. She turned to leave, but Daniel saw her and called out to Chelsea. Lexie went to do rounds. Chelsea accused Daniel of lying to her when he said he was seeing someone, but Dr. Jonas remained cagey. He admitted that Chelsea inspires him. He called her "amazing" and "insightful," noting that he is attracted to her, but thinks she's too young. Chelsea said she wouldn't continue to throw herself at him and took off.
Max and John nearly came to blows on the docks. Stephanie tried to restrain her boyfriend, who continued to shout that John is a drug peddler and "scum." After Steph pulled Max away, slinky Ava approached John, who told her to go away. He knew who she was from the newspaper headlines and Ava recognized John. After some resistance on his part, they took a walk and bonded over having their minds messed with by someone else. Abe strolled up and suggested that Ava's late dad, Mario, is the one who helped John score cocaine. Abe promised to keep an eye on John, reminding him that his bail could be revoked at any time. Afterward, John invited Ava to dinner. She said that she'd like to accept, but doesn't date married men.
Chloe packed her bags and interrupted Philip and Victor's argument to say that she's moving out of the Kiriakis manse. Philip wanted her to stay, but Victor refused to have the "piece of trash" in his home. After Chloe left, Victor asked if his son is sleeping with her. The elder Kiriakis said that Chloe wouldn't think much of Philip when she finds out he spent a half million for the drugs planted in John's shipment. Vic argued that his son could have come up with another way to get rid of John, but Philip stood by his decision. Philip went to the Java Café and Chloe arrived. She asked if he'd invited her there to end their friends-with-benefits relationship, but Philip said that's not the case. Chloe spotted Sami and went to talk to her. She wanted to talk about Brady, saying she didn't make him a drug addict. Sami didn't want to hear it and walked out. When Philip mentioned the kooky living arrangements at the DiMera mansion, Chloe said she had to go and bolted.
Stephanie and Max went to the pub, where she questioned him about his secrecy and moodiness. He kept mum..... Abe dropped by the hospital to tell Lexie he agrees that they should take their son to a specialist.... EJ ran into Nicole outside the Brady pub and wanted to talk about his annulment lie, warning her to keep mum. She responded by phoning Lucas.
Friday
Lucas demanded to know why Nicole was calling. EJ snatched the phone from her to prevent Nic from blabbing his secret. At the DiMera mansion, an aggravated Lucas instructed Rolf not to put through any more calls from Nicole. Next up, Chloe arrived, saying she's worried about Lucas. He wasn't pleased to see her. Moments later, Philip showed up. Back outside the pub, Nicole told EJ that she'll keep the secret that he's not really married to Sami — if he's generous. EJ said that he doesn't give in to blackmail, but she laughed, claiming she was just kidding. When EJ told her off about hiding behind booze and blackmail, she got teary-eyed and hurried away. EJ went after her. He apologized for being mean to Nicole. She responded with a long kiss.
Chelsea ran into Nick at the Brady Pub and apologized for hurting him. She admitted that she was in love with Daniel, but it didn't work out. Nick accused her of wanting to be friends now just because things didn't work out. Nick politely told her that he can't be "just friends" and is moving on. He advised her to do the same.
Down at the piers, John fumed when he found out he can't access his warehouse. Bo and Hope walked up and he snarled at them to turn their attention to Philip, charging: "The little bastard set me up." The Bradys did visit Victor at his mansion, but the mogul gruffly told them that he doesn't know anything about the cocaine shipment.
At University Hospital, Maxine gave Kayla and Steve some good news: Joey is being taken off the ventilator tomorrow..... Caroline, Roman, Max, Hope, Bo, Stephanie, Chelsea and Nick celebrated the newly eco-friendly Brady Pub. They raised their glasses in a toast to Grandpa Shawn. Bo gave a speech about how important it is to save the earth. Moody Max took off, so Nick went after him.... Chelsea lamented to Hope about her romantic woes.... Steve and Kayla announced to the crowd that Joey will be breathing on his own.... Nick coaxed Max back to the pub. He kept mum on his reason for leaving, but was in a better mood, sharing a smile with Stephanie.
John returned home and was furious to find Chloe and Philip in his house. He blasted Lucas for allowing in such "unsavory" characters. Lucas didn't feel like dealing with John's attitude and warned that "Blondie" would not approve of his threats to kick Lucas out. Philip and Chloe kept mum as Lucas and John traded barbs, then they took off. John shouted at Lucas that those two are not welcome in his home. Afterward, Chloe returned, telling Lucas that she wants to be his friend. Lucas was totally dubious, but agreed to be her friend if she promises not to hurt Philip.... Back at the Kiriakis home, Philip told Victor about his visit to Lucas at the DiMera mansion. Vic warned his son to stay away from John Black, but Philip walked away from his dad.... On the docks, a tipster told John that he had seen one of the warehouse workers with Philip.
