DAYS Week of July 5, 2010
Monday
After returning from a swim, T went off after Kinsey, while Will and Chad discussed Wake Forest, their grades and their moms. Chad made a crack about Sami not pushing Will. Will defended his mom. Chad apologized, admitting he'd been "feeling weird" since Mia disappeared without a word. Kinsey and T returned. T asked where Gabi was. Kinsey reminded them Gabi's sister was having her day in court. Will took off to check on Gabi.
Brady was disappointed by the information his private eye turned up. He knew Arianna was innocent and told the guy to find his stolen money clip. Meanwhile, Nicole was on the phone telling Baker they were "dead meat" if EJ exposed them for setting up Arianna. Rafe walked up behind her and accused Nicole of being mixed up in what was happening to Arianna. Nicole said she was working on Arianna's case and had tried to help her.
EJ visited Arianna, insisting he'd prove Nicole set her up. A guard brought Arianna clothes to wear to her arraignment. She went through her things and found her engagement ring. Gabi and Rafe waited for the arraignment to begin. Nicole arrived with a cameraman. Rafe insisted Arianna was framed. EJ and a guard arrived with Arianna. Nicole wished Arianna good luck. "Are you serious?" spat Arianna. EJ took Arianna inside. Nicole tried to follow, but was stopped. Soon, Arianna emerged, smiling. EJ gave Nicole an interview, noting his client was granted bail and was free to assist in her own defense. Brady arrived and learned EJ posted Arianna's bail. He told Rafe about his mugging and how he thought Arianna was set up. Brady approached Nicole, who pretended she was happy Arianna didn't have to stay in jail. Arianna approached. Brady said he wanted to help her clear her name. Arianna wasn't interested and gave him back his ring. Brady refused to take it, suggesting Arianna sell it to pay back EJ. "I would not want to be in his debt, if I were you," he warned. EJ stopped Nicole as she was about to leave, warning that he had evidence against her. "Then why didn't you scream it out in the courtroom?" asked Nicole. EJ noted it was a bail hearing, but vowed Nicole was going back to prison.
Gabi met Will and told him Arianna was out on bail. Will invited her to go wakeboarding, and they headed off. T, Kinsey and Chad were relaxing when Gabi and Will approached. Gabi slipped out of her clothes to reveal her bathing suit. Chad sent Will back to his house to pick up more food and locked eyes with Gabi.
Madeline arrived at the DiMera mansion to talk to Kate. "If you tell Stefano what you found, lives will be destroyed -- innocent lives," stressed Madeline. She begged Kate to keep her secret. Kate was hesitant. When she married Stefano, she promised never to lie to or betray him. Madeline asked if Kate hated her enough to turn the document she found over the Stefano. Kate swore she didn't hate Madeline. She recruited her, and Madeline was one of Stefano's best girls. Madeline said she wasn't part of that life anymore and if her secret came out, she'd lose everything. Kate said she wouldn't bring up anything about the document to Stefano and that there wasn't any reason for anyone to know what she once was. "A whore," interrupted Madeline. Will stood outside and overheard.
Shane turned to leave after telling Kimberly he wanted to spend the rest of his life with his family. She stopped him, admitting when her doctors told her she had leukemia, her one regret was not being with him. Shane swore the only reason he wasn't with her was because he was locked away. Kim said it was too late for the two of them. They couldn't go back. Shane suggested they move forward and become friends again. Kim was agreeable. Later, Rafe found Shane at the pub. Shane told him he'd reconnected with Kimberly. Rafe lamented about Sami and keeping her away from the DiMeras. "You love her. Find a way," urged Shane. Kimberly arrived and Shane introduced her and Rafe. Then, the couple headed off together. Rafe called headquarters asking not to be sent out of town. He had a personal matter in Salem to deal with.
Tuesday
Will was stunned when he overheard Madeline call herself "a whore" to Kate. Kate agreed to help Madeline, as long as it didn't cost her anything. Madeline knew her fate was in Kate's hands. "Can it get any worse than that?" she sighed. Stefano emerged and asked why Madeline was there. She said she was making sure the past remained in the past. Kate confirmed Madeline was there for reassurance. Stefano got a call and left. Later, Kate assured Stefano that Madeline couldn't hurt them any more. He asked Kate if she knew where Will was. He wanted to talk about his internship at DiMera Enterprises. Stefano noted he'd begun to think of Will as his own grandson.
Chad, Gabi and T were eating ice cream, when T got a call from his mom and left. Chad told Gabi his mom got him into Wake Forest. T returned and asked why Chad changed his mind about school. Chad said he needed to leave town for a while. Chad asked T and Gabi about visiting him there. T got another call and left. Chad pressed Gabi about coming to see him at Wake Forest just as Will returned. After Gabi left, Will accused Chad of moving in on Gabi. Chad swore he wasn't putting the moves on Gabi and called Will a "dweeb." Then, he attacked Sami, mentioning all the men she had kids with. "At least my mother wasn't a whore like yours was," retorted Will.
Henderson told Vivian that Victor wouldn't be home for dinner. Vivian pretended she already knew. Meanwhile, Victor was at Maggie's discussing the Mickey Horton scholarship foundation and inviting her out to dinner. "I'm not going anywhere with you," responded Maggie. "What's a little dinner between friends?" countered Victor. Vivian arrived on cue. Victor asked her to leave. Maggie asked Victor to go and Vivian to stay. Maggie asked Vivian if she really thought she could hold onto Victor acting like a stereotypical fishwife. Vivian countered that she hated having a romantic rival who made Betty Crocker look like Lady Gaga. Maggie insisted she wasn't a romantic rival. Perhaps Victor just wanted to get away form a neurotic shrew. Maggie backed down. Vivian said Maggie was right and left.
Jennifer and Carly met on the pier. Jennifer wanted to talk to Carly about Bo and Hope. Namely, that she thought Bo might hurt her, since he and Hope were connected for life. Later, Jennifer was on the phone with Jack, when she bumped into Vivian, who offered condolences about Alice. Vivian said she knew what Jennifer was going through, since they both lost someone they loved. Jennifer spat she wasn't going to mourn Lawrence, who raped her, and left.
Hope arrived to find Bo perusing their divorce papers. She got Ciara to leave, so she could talk to Bo. Hope admitted she had a big problem with Arianna being released on bail. She went off about Arianna attacking strong men. She worried Arianna might go after someone like Bo. Bo pointed out that EJ was defending her and was one of the victims, so he must believe she was innocent. Hope mentioned the divorce papers, saying Bo had moved on and now she needed to. Carly arrived, apologized for interrupting, and turned to leave. Hope said she and Bo were done and went to fetch Ciara. After they left, Bo explained Hope wanted to go ahead with the divorce. Carly wondered if Bo was having second thoughts and brought up Hope's strange behavior. Bo wasn't comfortable talking to Carly about Hope. Carly drifted off, thinking of her talk with Jennifer. Bo asked what was wrong. Carly swore it was nothing.
Justin teased Ciara at the Kiriakis mansion. He urged Hope to get some rest, volunteering to watch the tyke. Hope went and popped some sleeping pills. Downstairs, Justin complimented Ciara on some pictures she'd drawn. He wanted to put one in his room. Ciara agreed to give him one for a dollar. Justin said he'd get his wallet. Ciara said he couldn't. He'd lost it. "How do you know that?" he asked. "Mommy had it," retorted Ciara.
Baker thought back to telling Hope their partnership was over, when Nicole arrived ranting about EJ threatening her. She wanted Baker and his partner to take him out. Baker refused. Nicole pulled out some cash and asked Baker for the name of his cohort in crime. Baker wouldn't talk, noting his partner mattered to him. Nicole realized Baker wasn't of any use to her and split.
Wednesday
Nicole gave her on air news report about Arianna being freed on bail, despite the overwhelming evidence against her. Then, she thought back to telling Baker about the evidence EJ had on her. She vowed not to let him send her back to jail.
EJ was on the phone telling someone to keep following Nicole. Stefano wondered how long it would be before Nicole realized EJ had nothing on her. EJ admitted he could use his father's help and would always regret what he did to Sami. Stefano worried his son was headed for a fall. He didn't think it was a good idea for EJ to open his heart to Sami, when she could rip it out of his chest if she found out what he did. EJ insisted she wouldn't. Stefano worried about Rafe uncovering the truth. He urged EJ to let Sami go. EJ refused, swearing all would be fine.
Caroline helped Sami prepare for a family picnic. She wondered if EJ would be attending. Sami noted he was good with the kids. "Is he good with you, too?" asked Caroline. Nicole watched as Sami told Caroline that EJ had changed. Nicole walked in and approached Sami. She brought up Arianna being released on bail and asked if Sami was on her side. Sami noted EJ was defending her and obviously thought Arianna was innocent. Nicole tried to pump Sami for information EJ might have. Sami wouldn't give her any and left.
Stefano joined Nicole at the pub. He told her EJ had the goods on her. "So what is it going to be, my dear? A fast departure or 10 to 15 without any chance of parole?" he proposed and left. Later, in the park, Nicole contemplated things. She didn't want to go to jail or leave town. Suddenly, the guy EJ had following her appeared. Nicole screamed. A cop arrived and Nicole told him the man was stalking her.
Sami found EJ in the DiMera living room and invited him to come on the picnic she had planned. “Come with you like a date come with you?" asked EJ. Sami got nervous, but countered that it was totally a date with twin preschoolers and a baby at a community park. EJ said he was glad he didn't scare Sami off when he said he loved her. Sami admitted she was confused about her feelings for him and Rafe. “I shouldn't be involved with anyone until I can figure out if I can stand on my own two feet or not," announced Sami. EJ wanted Sami to be happy, even if I meant letting her go. He emerged with a bottle of wine so they could toast the time they all spent under one roof. Sami noted they hadn't left yet, and she and EJ inched close to a kiss, when their limo arrived. After they left, Nicole snuck in, noting if EJ had proof, she was going to find it.
Madeline fretted as she recalled her conversation with Kate. Chad erupted when Will called his mother a whore. A fight ensued. A cop broke things up. Will assured the brawl was over and apologized to Chad. Chad wanted Will to admit he lied. Will insisted he didn't and told Chad to ask his mom. Chad found Madeline at the pub. She could see he'd been fighting and asked why. “You," retorted Chad, asking how Madeline got through school. Madeline said she managed and worked, but didn't want to talk about it.
Justin was stunned when Ciara mentioned Hope having his wallet, among others, under her bed, noting they were all gone now. He headed to talk to Hope, who was on the phone making plans to meet Baker. Hope was about to leave, when Justin arrived at her door. Hope said she couldn't sleep and was going for a walk. Justin mentioned what Ciara said about his wallet. Hope flipped, noting Ciara was lying. Justin wasn't so sure, but thought he might be able to get Ciara to open up. Hope didn't want that and planted a kiss on Justin. Adrienne found Ciara downstairs and asked where Justin was. “In Mommy's room," noted Ciara. Adrienne found Hope in Justin's arms. Hope said she was falling apart and Justin was trying to help. Adrienne said she was there to have Justin sign papers. Hope sent them off, noting she was going back to bed. Then, she snuck off to the poker joint. Baker was happy to see her and admitted he could kill the guy who hurt her. Hope promised the guy would pay and gave Baker a list of things to get for. Baker was worried about what Hope was planning to do.
Thursday
Sami and EJ set up for their picnic. Sami was happy to have their whole family together. She offered EJ some Chex Mix. EJ tasted it and loved it. The twosome were playfully fighting over the bag, when Sami spilled salad dressing on EJ. She told EJ to take off his shirt so she could try to clean it. Gabi and Will arrived. Sami freaked about the bruise on Will's face. The conversation turned to Arianna. Will said Rafe was helping her get out of the mess she was in. EJ emerged wearing a clean shirt. Gabi thanked him for defending Arianna. Stefano phoned and told EJ they had a problem, and had to meet pronto. EJ left, much to Sami's disappointment. Sami joined Gabi, who was singing in Spanish. "That's the song Rafe used to sing to Grace," recalled Sami, admitting she missed him. Gabi thought Rafe missed Sami, too. Will suggested Sami call him. Sami couldn't. She didn't think Rafe could deal with all the parts of her life. Will knew she was talking about EJ and apologized for being a jerk about him. He knew EJ was trying to be a decent guy. Sami wondered if EJ had indeed changed.
Carly visited Melanie bearing ice cream. The gals ate and discussed Daniel and Chloe. Carly hoped Chloe wouldn't hurt Daniel. Melanie fretted about that, too. Melanie got a call and announced Daniel was coming by. She wondered if they weren't both being overprotective of Daniel, since Chloe hadn't done anything wrong. She suggested they let this go.
Daniel and Chloe finished making love and talked about their impending bundle of joy. Daniel left to go fetch them dinner and visit Melanie. Soon, Vivian arrived and scolded Chloe for botching things with Carly. She mentioned Gregory, the nurse at the hospital, and how they had a deal. Chloe remembered he was the person who told her Daniel and Carly had gone off together. She realized Vivian paid him and the hotel clerk to lie to her. "You ruined my life!" spat Chloe, opening the door and demanding Vivian leave, just as Carly arrived. Carly realized Vivian was the one who made Chloe believe she and Daniel were having an affair. Vivian split. Carly chased after her and accused Vivian of lying to Chloe to get back at her. Vivian said she wouldn't give up until she destroyed Carly. Meanwhile, Chloe imagined being with Daniel after their child was born and how her dream would never happen if her baby wasn't his. Carly realized Daniel and Chloe's lives could be ruined all because Vivian wanted to get back at her.
Daniel visited Melanie and reassured her that as his first born she'd always hold a special place in his heart. Melanie showed Daniel a T-shirt she'd bought reading, "I'm the big sister." Then, she gave him a baby book to mark down all the firsts in his new baby's life. Daniel was touched.
Stefano met Lexie and Theo on the pier and gave Theo a model boat. Lexie thought it was too expensive. Stefano insisted nothing was too good for his grandson. Abe arrived, and Stefano took Theo off. Lexie told Abe she didn't invite Stefano to meet them. He just showed up. Abe noted they'd agreed to keep Stefano away from Theo, but just the opposite was happening.
Nicole searched the DiMera living room for EJ's evidence against her. She found a tape recorder in the desk and took it. Later, she searched EJ's bedroom, found the ultrasound of their unborn child, and cried. As she continued searching she heard Stefano come in and hid. Soon, EJ arrived. Stefano told him Nicole gave the guy who was following her the slip. EJ went on about knowing Nicole framed Arianna, but not having any evidence against her. Stefano asked why EJ was defending Rafe's sister. He assumed it was to look good in Sami's eyes. "What if she finds out what you did?" asked Stefano. Nicole's ears perked up, and she turned on the recorder. EJ conceded he'd "lose everything." Stefano assured Anna was the only who knew the truth — that EJ paid her to kidnap Sydney — but she'd been neutralized. Nicole realized she'd hit pay dirt.
Friday
Nicole thought back the conversation she overheard between EJ and Stefano, phoned EJ, and demanded he meet her on the pier. EJ arrived and asked what was so urgent. “It’s a bomb,” retorted Nicole, noting she was in the driver’s seat now. EJ went off about Nicole faking a pregnancy and kidnapping Sydney. Nicole said EJ had outdone her and that she knows he never had any evidence on her regarding Arianna’s arrest. They spat back and forth about their failed marriage and hatred for each other. Nicole explained that EJ’s pretending to have evidence against her led her to break into the mansion last night. That’s when she heard EJ and Stefano talking about Sydney. EJ looked stunned. "It’s over, you sick bastard,” spat Nicole. “Anna stole Sydney because you paid her to."
Daniel arrived at the Kiriakis mansion and told Victor he was there to find something. Victor hoped he wasn’t planning on giving some of his mother's jewelry to Chloe. Daniel said he didn’t need Victor’s advice about Chloe and asked him to give her a chance.
Carly called Chloe and asked how she was feeling. "Just peachy or at least I will be, if you keep your mouth shut," answered Chloe. Carly wanted to talk in person. Chloe told her to come over. Kate overheard and asked what was up with Chloe. Carly noted they could add Chloe to the list of Vivian haters. After the nightmare Chloe put her sons through, Kate believed Chloe deserved to be tortured by Vivian. Kate called Daniel an idiot for getting involved with Chloe.
Daniel returned home and explained he’d gone through his parent's things. He opened a box and showed Chloe a christening gown he wanted their child to wear. Chloe couldn’t hide her worry. Daniel assured their baby would be fine. Daniel went to leave, opened the door, found Carly, and whispered something to her. Carly told Chloe that Daniel thought she was there to smooth things over. Chloe thought she was there to destroy her. Carly said she’d found out Vivian's part in all of this. Carly noticed the christening dress and noted things were clear now. She wanted Daniel to be happy. Chloe realized Chloe wasn’t going to tell Daniel about her one night stand and thanked her. Carly said she could only stay silent, if the child was Daniel's.
Kate ran into Daniel at the hospital. She asked if he still held her responsible for Chloe's poisoning and coma. He did. Kate couldn’t believe he didn’t see Chloe for what she was and mentioned Vivian going after her. Daniel asked how she knew that. Kate noted Carly told her and left.
Nathan and Caroline were at the pub, when Maggie walked in. Nathan noted Caroline was becoming a hospital volunteer. Caroline said someone had to pick up the slack for Maggie. Maggie wanted a moment alone with Caroline and asked why she was being hostile. Caroline noted Maggie had ignored her advice about Victor and asked what was going on between the two of them. Maggie swore they were just friends. She didn’t get why Caroline was angry with her. Victor arrived, noting Caroline was angry with him. Maggie left. “What did you say to her?” grumbled Victor, warning Caroline to stay out of hi affairs. Caroline accused him of cheating with Maggie. "Stay out of my life," spat Victor.
Melanie took Philip to the hospital to pick something up. While she went off getting it, Philip looked at his phone and muttered about Chloe not calling him back. Stephanie snuck up behind Philip and his phone went flying. He nervously retrieved it. Steph said she knew he was hiding something. Philip told her to back off. Melanie returned. Steph explained she was meeting Nathan and left. Philip told Melanie that Steph was jealous, because he loved her more than he ever loved Steph. They kissed. Later, Nathan and Steph were relaxing at the beach, when Melanie and Philip approached. Melanie and Philip decided to head somewhere else. Nathan asked if something had happened earlier. Steph noted Philip could be arrogant, while she was with the least arrogant, sweetest guy ever. Nathan was turned on. Melanie and Philip returned to Maggie's. Philip suggested going to the gym and then lunch. Melanie went off to get ready. Philip found Melanie’s big sister t-shirt in her gym bag. When Melanie returned, he asked about it. Melanie told him Chloe was pregnant.
