DAYS Week of February 7, 2011
Monday
At the station, Bo assured Hope she wasn't going back to prison. Hope worried that Bo would be put in jail, but Roman came in and revealed his brother was free. Bo lost it when Roman announced that Hope wasn’t out of the woods yet. Hope urged Bo to go home to Ciara. She mentioned Carly probably wanted him home, too. Bo revealed that Carly was moving out. When Hope asked why, he admitted his heart was with someone else. He then vowed that he and Hope would face things together moving forward. Justin arrived to talk to Hope. He assured her he was doing everything legally possible to keep her out of prison. Bo came in and said he had a surprise. Justin took off. In ran Ciara. She and Hope had a happy reunion.
Jennifer woke up in her hospital bed and asked Carly if Jack had called. Carly revealed that nobody had been able to get in touch with him. The women shared Jell-O; Jen said that her brush with death had given her perspective and she needed to make some tough decisions about her life. Carly replied that she had to figure out her own life, too, since she and Bo split. Jennifer assured her she would bounce back from it. Carly cried that she loved Bo and was hurting. “I never felt so cherished in my life,” she lamented of her lost love. “But I’ll be okay.”
Awkward duo Nicole and Sami waited for Rafe and EJ to return with the cake for the party. Sami noticed Nicole's bracelet and commented on it. Nic revealed it was a tracking device from EJ. Sami wondered if that was the kind of life Nicole wanted. Nicole said having the kids in her life made her feel whole and she was sticking with EJ. The time came to put Sydney in her party dress. Both women pulled a new one out. Nicole “accidentally” spilled beer on the dress Sami bought so Sydney would have to wear the one she bought.
In the dungeon, Rafe dreamed of Sami and the kids. He woke up, determined to get to his wife.... Rafe II queried EJ about Sami and her family on the pier. EJ assured the double that he could pull off being Rafe since Rafe had been in a car accident that left him a little "different." Stefano came upon them. They discussed Sami. Stefano laughed when Rafe II called Sami “warm and affectionate.” EJ told Rafe II to ignore the Phoenix. EJ suggested they get home with the cake because the kids were waiting. Rafe II warned them that he was okay with kids, but not babies. EJ didn’t care, explaining he didn’t want his kids to like Rafe, anyway.... Rafe and EJ arrived at the loft with the cake — and Stefano. “Who invited you?” Sami snarked. While they were bickering about it, Roman arrived. “What the hell is he doing here?” Roman asked. EJ pointed out that Stefano had a right to be there since it was Johnny and Sydney’s party. Sydney started crying in the other room. Will and Rafe came out and Will explained that Sydney started crying when she saw Rafe. They brushed it off and enjoyed the cake.... Roman revealed he was reinstated on the force. Sami and “Rafe” were thrilled. EJ then allowed the kids to stay over at Sami’s. She was over the moon. When everyone left, she and “Rafe” got frisky on the couch.... Stefano returned to the dungeon and found and unconscious Rafe on the floor. He gave him pills and a piece of cake from the party. “You’re the nicest kidnapper ever,” Rafe cracked, then asked why Stefano was keeping him alive.
Gabi and Will went out after the party. Gabi admitted she was worried about Rafe, explaining he seemed off and distracted. Will noted that he just got out of the hospital and was probably on painkillers.
Nicole and EJ enjoyed martinis at the DiMera mansion and toasted to a pleasant, but strange day with the family. EJ told Nicole he appreciated the way she handled Sami. She added that it was generous of him to let Johnny and Sydney spend the night at Sami and Rafe’s. She smiled that she was very happy with him. As a “reward,” he removed her tracking device bracelet. Things turned romantic; they kissed.
Tuesday
Philip arrived at Maggie's, demanding to see Chloe. When he saw Parker in Maggie's arms, he took his son. He vowed to be there for both of his children.
Melanie was reading a parenting magazine when Kate dropped in for a visit to talk about Chloe. Melanie wasn't up for it and asked her to leave. When Mel opened the door, Philip was standing there. Kate left. Melanie told him how Kate wanted Melanie to take Parker from Chloe and raise both children as her own. Philip realized his mother was up to her old tricks. Melanie then revealed that Nathan still wanted to be with her and raise her unborn baby with her. Philip wasn't pleased. "I'm the father," he reminded her. She said she didn't care how he felt; she was making the decisions now. "You don't matter," she declared, then told him to leave. Philip headed to the Brady Pub, where he spied his mother. He angrily reminded her that she wasn't running his life and warned her to back off.
Chloe went to the hospital and ran into Daniel. He asked what she was doing there. She didn't respond, but said it was fate that she ran into him. She told him that she followed his advice and saw Dr. Pearlman and they had a good talk. Chloe tried to talk to him about their relationship, but Daniel begged off. She pushed, noting that Parker cried when he saw a photo of Dan. Daniel firmly told her not to use the baby to get him back. She said she would give anything to have him look at her the way he used to. "So would I," he sadly replied. Chloe returned to Maggie's house. Maggie could tell something was wrong. Chloe tried to play it off, then broke down in tears. She admitted she saw Daniel and said she felt out of it. She added that while she loved Parker, in her heart, she wasn't sure if she could anymore. She cried that she wasn't a good mother and left to get some air. On the pier, she geared herself up to return to Parker. Melanie came upon her and demanded to know why Chloe wasn't taking care of the baby.
Maxine tended to a recovering Jennifer. Jen asked to see Daniel. He came in and she thanked him for saving her life. They had a good chat. "I owe you so much," she told him.
On the pier, Lexie thanked Taylor for watching Theo. Lexie asked her to stay the night again, but Taylor said she was heading back to Chicago on the bus. Lexie took her to the park to chat before she left and urged Taylor to talk to Nicole. Taylor didn't think it would help.
A confused Nicole pulled away from EJ's passionate kiss and asked what was going on. He said it was an invitation and noted that they were getting married and hoped there could be a new trust between them. Nicole was concerned that EJ still hated her for what had gone on in the past. He kissed her. "Wow, that was a surprise," she smiled. "A pleasant one," he replied, then kissed her again. They headed upstairs and had sex. After, Nicole made martinis for them. The doorbell rang. Nicole, though not dressed to answer the door, opened it up to find Taylor standing there.
Sami and "Rafe" got passionate on the couch. He stared at her intently; she asked what was wrong. He said nothing was wrong, then noted he had too many beers at the party. He added that things were weird for him since the accident. Sami was sympathetic. Things got hot and heavy and they went into the bedroom and had sex. After, "Rafe" called EJ and said things were going well. EJ noted that the double seemed chipper. "Rafe" boasted that things were great with Sami. In the kitchen, Sami got water but seemed troubled.
In the dungeon, Stefano explained to the real Rafe that he was still alive because Stefano needed him around. Rafe asked why. Stefano was cryptic. Rafe worried that the DiMeras had done something to Sami, but Stefano insisted it wasn't so.
Wednesday
At the Brady Pub, Philip threatened Kate that she would never see Parker again if she didn't stop meddling in his life. They sat down and talked. Kate urged him to repair his marriage and get Melanie to forgive him. She explained that Parker needed a strong mother like Mel. "Good plan. I'll use my child as bait with Melanie," he snarked, then restated that he didn't want her interfering with Chloe and Melanie.
Melanie confronted Chloe on the pier and told her Parker deserved a better mother than her. "You mean you?" Chloe retorted. They exchanged barbs. Chloe yelled at Melanie to stay the hell out of her life and stormed off. Melanie realized that Kate was right and that Chloe was losing it. She fantasized about being Parker's mom. Chloe arrived home; Philip came in moments later. She told him Maggie was out with Parker. He said he was there to talk to Chloe and vowed to stand by and support her. A teary Chloe hugged him.
Daniel entered Jennifer's room and heard her arguing with a nurse. Jen explained that she wanted information about Hope. Daniel chastised her, which prompted Jen to comment on his bedside manner. They bickered. Nathan came in next and they discussed his love life. After Nathan left, Jen unhooked herself from the machines and got out of bed. She sneaked out of the room and overheard Daniel on the phone, setting up a financial fund for Chloe. Jen promptly passed out. Daniel rushed to her and put her back in bed. More bickering ensued. He gave her some sedatives and she passed out.
Nicole was surprised to see Taylor at the door of the DiMera manse. Taylor insisted that Nicole talk things out with her, but Nic didn't want to. Taylor left the money Nicole gave her on the table and headed out, but not before reminding Nic that they were family. EJ came downstairs; Nicole revealed that Taylor had just left. He said he didn't know Nic's sister was in Salem and asked if she was invited to the wedding. No, Nicole replied. They kissed some more. Nicole got dressed and looked at a picture of her and her sister from when they were younger. Nic then called Fay.
Rafe II boasted to EJ that he had sex with Sami and all was well. EJ asked if Sami knew he wasn't the real Rafe. "I don't think so," Rafe II replied, adding that when it was over, Sami went off by herself. EJ warned him that Sami can be moody, but advised him to make sure she wasn't suspicious. In the living room, Sami took out a mirror from her purse and spied a hickey on her neck. She was a little rattled and covered it up with her hair. Her phone rang; it was her sister, Carrie. Sami confided that things were different with Rafe and that things were even different in bed. "La, la, la, la," an embarrassed Carrie replied. Sami added that he was more aggressive in bed than usual. Rafe II came out and overheard. Sami spied him and hung up the phone. He admitted her heard her conversation and they talked it out. She noted that it felt like it was the first time for them. He said it was probably because he mixed painkillers and alcohol.
Stefano demanded information from an imprisoned Rafe and threatened to harm Allie if Rafe didn't agree to cooperate. He showed Rafe a photo of the little girl, then ripped it up. When Stefano left, Rafe wondered what they wanted from him. EJ arrived to taunt the prisoner. He introduced Rafe to his double. Rafe was stunned to see his lookalike, who declared, "Man! Whoa! That's one good looking dude!" EJ was impressed by the resemblance and revealed that Stefano had been working on the switcheroo. A teary-eyed, frustrated Rafe insisted it wouldn't work but EJ was sure it would.
At the Cheatin' Heart, Chad filled out an employment form — using the name DiMera — and got a job as a stock boy. He started immediately. Kate came in for a drink and was surprised to see him. "You're a DiMera; you don't need a job," she said. Kate then got a call — it was Melanie, who agreed they had to take Parker from Chloe.
Sami ran into Taylor outside the Brady Pub. She asked if Taylor was in town for Nicole's wedding. Taylor said no and that she was leaving Salem. Sami was surprised and said she didn't think Taylor should go. Nicole came upon them and told Sami to butt out.
Thursday
Kate entered the Kiriakis manse to find a very irate Victor on the phone. When he hung up, he explained to Kate that Titan had bought a company he knew nothing about. He figured Vivian's lawyers had found a loophole to let her purchase it. Kate returned her keys to Vic's house, explaining that she was moving back in with Stefano. He thought she was nuts for trying to make her arranged marriage real. She explained her feelings for the Phoenix and how she felt it could work this time around by being honest. Vic asked if Stefano knew she was trying to take Parker from Chloe. Well, no, Kate replied, which made Vic chuckle. He suggested she keep the keys — just in case. She left them, insisting she wouldn't need them.
Vivian visited Stefano and told him she had an offer he couldn't refuse. He wasn't interested. Her cell phone rang; it was Victor. She didn't pick up. Stefano was annoyed by Viv's presence and tried to get her to leave. Vivian warned Stefano that Kate was a dangerous woman. She offered to be his confidante, but he said he had Kate for that. Kate entered during their discussion, so Vivian took her leave. Stefano put a new ring on his wife's finger, thrilled she had come home. He said their misunderstandings were behind them; they kissed.
Brady entered the Cheatin' Heart and was surprised to see "Rafe" there, drinking a beer alone. Brady sat down with him and they had an awkward chat. Brady thought "Rafe" was acting strangely and asked what was going on. "Rafe" insisted he was fine. Cue the verbal sparring. Brady stormed off.
Goaded by Sami, Nicole asked Taylor to be in her wedding, but warned her sis not to side with anyone against her. Bickering ensued. Taylor decided to leave town, after all, and Nicole gave her money to go to the bus station. She took off. Sami lit into Nicole for letting Taylor go. Nicole suggested they stay out of each other's lives. The subject of EJ came up. Nicole said things were great between them. Sami realized Nic was falling in love with him. Nicole said she wasn't. They began fighting. Rafe II came upon them and asked what was up. When he realized they were arguing, he took Nicole's side and told Sami not to engage. Nicole's cell rang and she took off. "Rafe" pointed out to his wife that Nicole didn't matter. She thanked him for intervening. They hugged. He rolled his eyes during it, which a returning Nicole spied.
EJ continued to mentally torture an imprisoned Rafe. Rafe was convinced Sami wouldn't fall for his double. While EJ savored a meal and wine, EJ assured him that she already believed Rafe II was Rafe. He pointed out that the concussion changed Rafe, so any slips by Rafe II were believable. EJ reminded Rafe that if he didn't help fill in the gaps of what Rafe II didn't know, Allie would disappear. EJ then showed a shot from his phone of Rafe II and Sami kissing.
Brady ran into Taylor on the pier. Thinking he was a bum, she handed him money to get a hot meal. "I'm not homeless," he explained. "In fact, I'm from a very wealthy family." He handed her back the money, then showed her that he had a gold credit card. She was embarrassed that she jumped to conclusions. He explained he had just returned from a trip and hadn't shaved or showered. He introduced himself. She told him that she was Nicole's sister. He asked if she had seen Nic. She said yes, but that it didn't go well. Brady noted that Nicole needed a friend and that Taylor should stick around town. She decided to stay... Brady returned home and heard Victor fire an employee over the phone for not knowing what went on with Vivian buying a company. Brady revealed that he was the one who bought it and that Vivian had signed the company over to him. Victor was stunned by the betrayal. Brady said he learned about betrayal from Vic, who married Vivian, then treated her like dirt. Brady blamed Vic for it all. Victor noted that he recently called Brady a chip off the old block and how right he was.
Friday
EJ filled Stefano in about his visit with an imprisoned Rafe. After, Stefano spied Nicole's wedding invites and called the union a sham. He didn't understand why EJ was going through with it. "For the children," EJ said. EJ added that he also wanted Nicole in his life and she made him laugh. "Are you falling in love with this woman?" The Phoenix asked. EJ shouted that he wasn't, so Stefano asked what it was about, then. EJ admitted that he enjoyed being with her.
Taylor ran into Abe and Lexie at the hospital. She said she was looking for a job and planned to stay in Salem. They were happy to hear it. She revealed that Nicole didn't know yet and probably wouldn't be happy about it. The Carvers picked up Theo, who was thrilled to see Taylor. The group headed to the Brady Pub. Stefano joined them.
Nicole visited Chloe, who was sleep-deprived from Parker being up all night. Nicole shared her good news, that the wedding was back on, and asked Chloe to be her maid-of-honor. Chloe pointed out that she had bags under her eyes but would do it. Chloe got Parker a bottle, but forgot to heat it. Nicole was worried about her pal. Chloe insisted she was okay. The conversation turned to EJ. Nicole was certain things would work out this time. "It's starting to feel like is used to. Like when we loved each other," she explained. She headed home, where she and EJ engaged in a hot makeout session. He worried that she was reading too much into their sex the day before. "Friends with benefits, I get it," she said. He hoped they could be more than that and began kissing her again. She locked the door to the living room, then seduced him. After, she said she was happy they had worked things out. EJ headed to the pier, where he literally bumped into Taylor and felt a connection.
Daniel checked in on Jennifer, as did Carly. Jen wondered about Hope. Carly revealed to Daniel that she and Bo had split. She added she was going to give a deposition on Hope's behalf to ensure she didn't return to prison. Daniel noted that it was decent of her. She said she loved Bo enough to see he should be with Hope.
At the station, Hope talked to Bo before her hearing. She admitted she was scared to say good-bye to Ciara again. She awkwardly tried to verbalize her feelings for him, too. Justin entered and revealed the DA's office refused to cut a deal. Bo had an idea and took off. He arrived at Victor's and caught his irate dad dealing with his Titan mess. Bo implored Vic to help get Hope out of her mess. Victor didn't know what was happening with his family. "Your mother is hacking into computer records. Brady is pulling hostile takeovers. And now you arrive here with your little hat in your hand asking me to buy a judge," he said. Vic refused to help, nothing that Hope wouldn't want Bo to sacrifice himself for her. Victor did offer to call Governor Ford and ask for an above-board pardon.
Back at the cop shop, Hope told Justin she wasn't sure if Bo still loved her. Justin pointed out that she still loved Bo. A visitor arrived: It was Carly, who was there to give her deposition. She reported to Hope that she did everything she could to help Hope's case.... Bo returned to Hope and told her he asked Victor to call the governor. She didn't like him going outside of the system for her. His cell rang. It was Victor, who said the governor couldn't get involved because of the severity of the case. Hope thanked Bo for trying and for everything he did for her. Justin returned and they went in for the hearing. After, they felt it went well. Hope admitted she looked at Bo on the witness stand and thought, "That's the man I never stopped..." Before she could say the last word, Justin came in to say the judge had made a decision. Hope's sentence was reduced to time served. Hope was free to go. She flew into Bo's arms and thanked him for everything he did. He told her he loved her. "Come on. Let's go home," he said, then led her out.
Carly returned to the hospital and updated Daniel and Jennifer. She broke down when she mentioned Bo. Daniel took her in his arms. She cried a bit, then insisted she was okay and told Daniel he could go. Once alone, Carly assured Jennifer she was fine, then went out in the reception area, where she and Daniel hugged again. Jen spied their closeness and got an idea.
Chloe baked cookies at the house and put them in the oven. She got a call that Parker's prescription was ready, but since the baby was sleeping and the pharmacy was a few minutes away, she decided to leave him there alone — with the cookies in the oven. Chloe ran into Victor outside the Brady Pub. He asked how his grandson was. She said he was fine, then remembered she left him alone and hurried off. Back at Maggie's, smoke escaped from the oven...
