DAYS Week of February 28, 2011
Monday
At Nicole and EJ's wedding reception, Taylor asked EJ if he had also been thinking about her. "Honestly, I really haven't thought about you at all," EJ lied. Nicole approached EJ and asked, "What is the deal with you and my sister?" EJ insisted that nothing was going on between him and Taylor. "Fine," Nicole responded, "I'll get it out of her." Nicole wondered if EJ was Taylor's mystery man. Nicole then assumed that Taylor was uneasy because she hated EJ for being a DiMera and hurting Nicole in the past. In private, Lexie got EJ to admit that Taylor was the woman he wanted tracked down. EJ asserted it didn't matter because Taylor would never be interested in a man like him. EJ took Nicole home to begin their wedding night. Lexie questioned Taylor about her feelings for EJ and Taylor insisted that she wasn't attracted to him. When EJ seemed distracted in his honeymoon bed with Nicole, she asked him what was going on.
Sami noticed slight changes in Rafe 2 and confided in Caroline. Sami confessed that she felt responsible because she caused Rafe's accident. Meanwhile, Rafe 2 told Stefano that they didn't need the real Rafe anymore because he had everything under control. Stephanie encountered Rafe 2 at the Brady pub. Rafe 2, who was instantly attracted to Stephanie, sensed something was troubling her and asked her to open up. Rafe 2 gave Stephanie an overly supportive hug, which was observed by a perplexed Sami.
Social Services showed up at the hospital and announced they were taking custody of Parker from Chloe. Philip offered that he was the father. However, Daniel was listed as the father on Parker's birth certificate. Philip asked Daniel if he could take Parker for the night. Jennifer encouraged Daniel to take responsibility and he accepted. Jennifer and Daniel arranged to take Parker to Maggie's for the night. Maggie visited Chloe's bedside and promised that things would get better. "You're going to have to work very hard," Maggie added. "You're going to have to start believing in yourself. When you do it will all be worth it."
Philip overheard Kate and Melanie conspiring against Chloe. Philip blasted Melanie for blabbing to Kate that Chloe left Parker alone with the oven on. "I'm just worried about Parker," Melanie protested. "You may not have pulled the trigger," Philip seethed. "But you sure gave her the ammo." Melanie rushed away in tears. Kate felt hurt that Philip took Chloe's side over hers. At the Brady pub, Stephanie taunted Nathan that he didn't stand a chance with Melanie. At that moment, Melanie entered and fell into Nathan's arms. Melanie confessed her role in Kate's plot against Chloe, but Nathan didn't blame her. Philip arrived to apologize to Melanie and got into a confrontation with Nathan. Melanie tried to break them apart and suddenly doubled over in pain.
Tuesday
Despite his feelings for Taylor, EJ made love to Nicole on their wedding night. "We are going on our eight-hour anniversary," Nicole smiled. Afterwards, Nicole hinted that she was sort of in love with EJ. She was also relieved that Sami was no longer an issue for them, and EJ agreed, he didn't love Samantha anymore. Nicole believed the right people ended up together. Thinking of Taylor, EJ privately wasn't so sure. At Chez Rouge, Brady found a glum Taylor. He realized Nicole’s wedding to EJ went through and could tell Taylor didn't necessarily approve. Brady ordered a drink and Taylor warned him not to get drunk because she didn’t want to drag him home again. Later, Brady again offered her a job at Titan, but warned the DiMeras would not be happy about Nicole’s sister working for the enemy. Taylor didn’t quite accept, but she and Brady toasted to new possibilities.
Kate and Daniel argued over her mistreatment of Chloe. "I'm going to make sure that Philip never allows you to see that child," Daniel promised. Daniel added that Melanie would certainly keep her baby from Kate. Meanwhile, Nathan and Philip were concerned when Melanie experienced severe cramps. "It could just be stress," Nathan suggested. They rushed Melanie to the hospital, where Daniel ordered tests. Nathan pledged his support for Melanie — as did Philip. Kate tries to be there for Philip, but he rebuffed his mother. "I just want what's best for you," Kate insisted. "You have a funny way of showing it!" Philip shot back. Melanie lost her baby.
Sami was upset watching as Rafe 2 gave Stephanie an inappropriate hug. Rafe 2 insisted he was simply acting as a "big brother" and comforting Stephanie. Later, Stephanie admitted to her cousin that she was a bit uncomfortable. "He was holding on a little too close," Stephanie shared. "I tried to pull away and he pulled closer." Soon after, Sami saw Rafe 2 and Stefano having a friendly chat. Sami realized that she must do something about her husband’s personality change. She called Stephanie and asked if she would help her make an appointment at the hospital.
Wednesday
Stefano and EJ continued to disagree about whether Rafe has outlived his usefulness. "I fear that you're getting soft," Stefano commented. EJ protested that he wasn't going soft. Stefano visited Rafe in the DiMera basement and shared his plan to erase Rafe's memory. At the Brady pub, EJ was displeased that Rafe 2 had not yet succeeded in alienating Johnny. The boy still adored his step-dad.
In the aftermath of her miscarriage, Melanie extended an olive branch to Chloe. Melanie learned that Chloe appointed Philip Parker's legal guardian to prevent the baby from going into foster care while she recovered. Chloe expressed her fear that social services might keep her from getting Parker back. She asked Melanie to help Philip care for Parker. Melanie agreed to help and praised Chloe for her courage. Later, Melanie confided to Philip that she had forgiven Chloe. "I need to find a way to forgive you, too," Melanie added. Maggie urged Nathan to go slow with Melanie, but he was determined to win her back. Daniel felt hurt when his name was removed from Parker's birth certificate and replaced with Philip's name.
Abigail surprised Jennifer with her homecoming. Abigail expressed her anger toward Jack for abandoning the family. Later, Daniel visited Jennifer and updated her on Melanie's miscarriage. Abigail was surprised to witness Jennifer and Daniel embrace.
Hope was at loose ends now that Bo had returned to work, and she spent time with Jennifer and Julie. Hope covered her disappointment when Bo was too busy with work to meet for lunch.
Thursday
Rafe 2 was furious that Sami scheduled an MRI for him behind his back. "I'm not doing it!" he protested. Sami defended, "I'm doing this because I'm worried about you!" Rafe 2 phoned EJ, who ordered him to take the test and assured the results could be fixed. "Okay, I'll do it," Rafe 2 informed Sami. "I don't want you to be worried about me." Unfortunately, EJ's contact at the hospital was unable to doctor the results. Later, Daniel shared the results of the test with Rafe 2 and Sami. "According to this MRI you weren't even in an accident," Daniel revealed.
Melanie told Philip she loved him and forgave his indiscretion with Chloe. "We're going to do everything right this time," Philip smiled. When he suggested they start over somewhere new, Melanie asked, "Where does Parker fit into all of this?" While tears streamed down her cheeks, Melanie explained that she couldn't stay married to Philip because she didn't want to come between him and Parker. "I'm not giving up on us," Phillip promised. Later, Philip had a sweet visit with Parker. Meanwhile, Julie encouraged Nathan to fight for Melanie and insisted he was a better man for her than Philip. Nathan found Melanie at the pub.
Abigail walked in on Jennifer hugging Daniel. When Abigail learned that Daniel was the doctor who saved Jennifer's life she hugged him. When Daniel left, Jennifer questioned Abigail about how she felt seeing her hug another man. Abigail insisted she was fine with it and thought Jennifer should move on because Jack didn't deserve her. "You had heart surgery and he never tried to get in touch with you," Abigail pointed out. Jennifer reminded Abigail that Jack still loved her and her brother very much.
At the Java Caf, EJ invited Chad to join him and Johnny for breakfast. Chad revealed it was his birthday. EJ and Johnny helped Chad celebrate his birthday with a cupcake. Chad blew out the candle and made a silent wish. After EJ received the call from Rafe 2, he asked Chad to take Johnny home. Abigail was intrigued by Chad, until she mistakenly jumped to the conclusion that Johnny was his son. Chad didn't set her straight. "I didn't like that girl," Johnny weighed in.
Will gave Gabi a pair of earrings to indicate the seriousness of their relationship. Gabi was reluctant to accept the gift because she thought it was too expensive. Gabi explained to Will that she felt the same way about him. They shared a tender kiss while a mysterious figure watched from the shadows.
Friday
At the hospital, EJ watched as Sami's suspicions about the Rafe imposter grow. In private, Rafe 2 complained to EJ that things were harder than he thought with Sami. He wanted to know about their past from the real Rafe. EJ called Stefano and tried to stop him from giving Rafe the mind-erasing drug. "I'm afraid it's too late," Stefano informed. "It's already been done." Meanwhile, Daniel suggested ways in which Sami could try to help Rafe be the man he used to be. At home, Sami asked Rafe 2 to make love to her. "The way you used to," she added. Meanwhile, the real Rafe awakened and asked Stefano who he was. Stefano wondered if Rafe was faking his memory loss.
Taylor reluctantly visited Nicole and had mixed feelings that her wedding night went so well. Taylor revealed that Brady offered her a job again. Nicole urged her to accept the offer. When Nicole went to change her clothes, Taylor found herself face to face with EJ.
Brady tried to lift Chloe's spirits and she appreciated his efforts. "Thank you for understanding and not judging," she smiled. "You really are the best ex-husband a girl could ask for." Meanwhile, Victor spoke to Philip and insisted that Chloe come nowhere near Parker. Victor was stunned when Brady brought Chloe home and announced that she would be living at the mansion. Brady and Philip joined forces and Victor finally allowed Chloe to stay. Philip reunited a grateful Chloe with Parker. "You will always be a part of your son's life," Philip assured. Later, Victor made it clear that he accepted Philip's actions, but Brady was dead to him. Victor promised to find a way to destroy his grandson.
Nathan made a declaration of love to Melanie. "I'm not even divorced yet," Melanie protested. Steffy saw the two talking and blasted them. Nathan ordered Steffy to keep quiet and revealed that Melanie lost her baby. Steffy felt bad for Melanie's loss but bitterly noted that the road was now wide open for Nathan to reconnect with Melanie. Later, when Melanie felt faint, Nathan picked her up in his arms.
