Monday
EJ and Taylor crossed paths on the pier and the attraction was palpable. "I'm sorry, do I know you?" a stunned EJ inquired. "You look very familiar." Taylor accidentally dropped her wallet and they both kneeled to pick it up. As their hands touched, EJ remarked, "Your fingers are cold." He gallantly removed his scarf and wrapped it around Taylor. As she continued on her way, EJ called out, "Wait, I didn't get your name!" Taylor quickly disappeared from sight. Stefano and Nicole argued over her relationship with EJ. "Elvis does not love you, Nicole, and he never will," Stefano declared." Sami asked Rafe 2 to pick up Allie's favorite cookies. It was a dilemma for Rafe 2, who had no idea what to buy. Rafe 2 phoned EJ, who questioned the real Rafe. EJ warned there would be serious consequences for Sami and her daughter if Rafe answered incorrectly. "Chocolate chip" Rafe responded. EJ passed the information on to Rafe 2, who arrived at the loft, a bag of cookies in hand. "All for you," Rafe 2 said, handing the bag to Allie. Peering into the bag, the girl cried, "These aren't my favorite cookies!" Nicole informed EJ that she wanted her sister to attend their wedding. Nicole phoned Taylor and announced that she wanted her sister to remain in Salem and be part of the wedding. "You'll like her," Nicole told EJ. "Everyone does." In his prison cell, Rafe quietly said, "Sami, please, you have to figure out that he's not me."
Kate and Melanie discussed the terms of their alliance to take Parker away from Chloe. Kate asserted that Philip slept with Chloe because he felt betrayed by Melanie's lingering feelings for Nathan. "I know what I have to do," Melanie volunteered. At the hospital, Melanie explained to Nathan that she wanted to give her marriage to Philip another chance, for Parker's sake. Determined to win Melanie over, Nathan leaned in and kissed her passionately. Melanie pushed Nathan away and ran off. Meanwhile, Chloe realized she left Parker alone with the oven on. "I'm coming, Parker!" she called out, rushing to his aid. As the kitchen filled with smoke, Chloe turned off the oven. Philip arrived and Chloe commented that she was a wreck. "Philip, I am a disaster," she groaned. "I almost burned the house down." When Chloe fretted that Kate wanted to turn Parker against her, Philip insisted it would never happen. Maggie arrived home and observed that Chloe look tired. She suggested Chloe take a nap and Chloe agreed that it was a good idea. Alone with Philip, Maggie urged him to take care of Chloe.
Bo and Hope acknowledged that reconciling as a family again would be difficult. "You've been through hell and my being with Carly made you doubt my love for you," Bo conceded. "The thing is, you've had my heart since the first day I laid eyes on you.... I'm lost without you." Bo assured Hope that she would always have his heart. "Why don't we go home?" Bo asked. Hope smiled, "Okay."
Tuesday
Sami was alarmed when Rafe 2 blew up at Allie because she was disappointed that he got her the wrong cookies. Later, Rafe 2 vented to EJ that Rafe deliberately supplied them with the wrong cookie information. EJ instructed Rafe 2 to buy the right cookies and explain to Allie that he was merely pretending to be angry. EJ also coached Rafe 2 on the proper things to buy Sami for Valentine's Day. "Something as common as she is," EJ sniped. Later, EJ confronted Rafe in his cell. EJ warned Rafe if he pulled another stunt, Allie would disappear. Meanwhile, Sami sought feedback from Kayla regarding Rafe's temper. Kayla suggested that Sami be patient with Rafe until he was fully himself again. Sami returned home, where Rafe 2 had arranged a romantic evening featuring her favorite things, including long-stemmed roses. Marco approached Rafe and announced that he was about to get a call. Over the phone, Rafe was horrified to hear Rafe 2 seducing Sami. A furious Rafe knocked Marco unconscious and grabbed his keys, intent on escaping. "It's okay, Sami," Rafe quietly said. "I'm coming for you."
EJ and Taylor had difficulty shaking the memory of their first encounter on the pier. "I'll probably never see her again," EJ remarked to himself. "Besides, I'm about to get married." Later, the two crossed paths. Taylor tried to return EJ's scarf, but he insisted she keep it for warmth. EJ expressed a hope that they see each other again; Taylor wanted to leave it to fate. The two separated without exchanging names. Taylor phoned Nicole and recounted the romantic, mysterious, encounter. "Maybe I'll run into him again someday," Taylor voiced. "Spoken like a true romantic," Nicole shot back. Brady offered Taylor a marketing job at Titan. Taylor refused the position and questioned if Brady was trying to hurt Nicole.
Nicole presented EJ with a Valentine's Day card. EJ surprised Nicole with diamond earrings. "They're beautiful!" Nicole smiled. Nicole wondered if it was possible that EJ really liked her. EJ responded by kissing her.
Maggie learned that Brady betrayed Victor by taking Titan from him. Brady insisted what he did was good, but Maggie thought it was awful. Maggie visited Victor, who wanted to be alone. A despondent Victor looked at a picture of Isabella and said it was his fault that Brady turned out the way he did.
Caroline was placed on probation. The terms of the probation required Caroline to continue wearing her monitoring device. Kayla realized that Stephanie would be okay and left Salem to rejoin Steve in Africa.
Bo brought Hope home, where they received a warm welcome from Ciara, Doug and Julie. The entire family enjoyed a Valentine's Day dinner. Later, Hope explained to Doug and Julie that she and Bo still had issues to work out. Doug gave his daughter advice on how to approach the challenge. Alone with Bo, Hope suggested they go back in time and try to get things right this time. Hope held out her and introduced herself. "Hi," she smiled. "I'm Hope Williams." Bo played along and asked if she'd like to go out sometime. "I'd like that," she answered, adding, "Goodnight."
Wednesday
When Rafe 2 ravenously kissed Sami, she suddenly pulled back. "Is something wrong?" he wondered. "No," Sami answered and the couple resumed kissing. Their make out session was interrupted by the arrival of Will and Gabi, who were anxious to be photographed by Sami on the night of their first official date. Sami complimented Gabi on her dress. "She sure knows how to sell it!" Rafe 2 agreed. Alone with Rafe 2, Gabi questioned him about his odd behavior. Rafe 2 blamed it on his accident. Meanwhile, the real Rafe escaped from his cell. While running through the woods, an injured Rafe momentarily lost consciousness and dropped a torn photo of Allie. Rafe arrived outside the door to the loft, just as Rafe 2 was making the moves on Sami.
EJ presented Nicole with an engagement ring. "It fits so perfectly!" Nicole smiled. "It suits me." Johnny expressed fears about his upcoming hospital visit and EJ and Nicole assured him everything would be fine. While EJ put Johnny to bed, Taylor suddenly arrived, eager to show Nicole her bridesmaid dress. "You have to be quick about it, okay?" Nicole insisted, reminding Taylor that it was Valentine's Day. Nicole noted that the dress was beautiful. Taylor wanted to take a moment to once again recount her encounter with the mystery man, but Nicole dismissed it as fairy-tale thinking.
Marco alerted EJ to Rafe's escape. EJ had a good idea where they might find Rafe.
At Chez Rouge, Stefano surprised Kate with a new Ferrari. "If I didn't know better, I would think that you were cheating on me," Kate remarked. Stefano played coy. "You are up to something, aren't you?" Kate asked. Stefano dismissed Kate's suspicions. Kate then turned Stefano's attention to Chad, who was applying for a waiter's position. Stefano urged Chad to call him about a job. Chad replied, "Okay, maybe." Will and Gabi arrived at the restaurant. They invited Chad to join them, but he politely declined the couple's offer. During their Valentine's Day dinner, Will and Gabi shared a sweet kiss. While walking alone through the woods, Chad noticed the torn photo of Allie and picked it up.
Melanie agreed to help Kate take Parker away from Chloe and raise him with Philip. Melanie paid Philip a surprise visit and announced that she wanted to give their relationship another chance. Philip was thrilled.
Thursday
Rafe was in agony as he glimpsed Sami and Rafe 2 on the verge of making love. Sami was alarmed when she noticed that the peep window in the door was open. She closed it and returned to Rafe 2. EJ phoned Rafe 2 to warn him that the real Rafe was headed his way, but Rafe 2 ignored the message. EJ's men knocked Rafe unconscious and took him away. Rafe 2 opened the door and saw the incident, but didn't say anything to Sami. Allie returned home and Sami tucked her into bed. Rafe 2 finally answered EJ's call. EJ ordered Rafe 2 answer his phone any time he called. Rafe 2 lied to Sami that there was a domestic disturbance down the hall. Meanwhile, EJ left Nicole to attend to the business with Rafe's escape. EJ summoned Rafe 2 to the DiMera mansion and he departed. The real Rafe was returned to his cell, where his health took a turn for the worse. Sami's nosy neighbor, Gladys, knocked on her door and wondered why she saw Rafe being dragged away. Gladys said, "It looked like he was hurt."
Taylor applied for a waitress position at Chez Rogue. Taylor informed Maggie that she turned down a job offer from Brady. At the Kiriakis home, Brady and Victor fought over Titan. "You know what I learned from you, Grandpa?" Brady queried. "Nice guys finish last!" Brady also reminded Victor that he now owned the Kiriakis mansion. "Get out, go get drunk somewhere," Victor responded. Brady went to Chez Rogue, where he got drunk. Maggie offered to call Brady a cab, but he insisted on walking home. Taylor was alarmed to see Brady leave in a drunken stupor. Maggie visited Victor and updated him on Brady. "He feels terrible, Victor," Maggie informed. "He needs your help, Victor. I'm speaking as his sponsor, too... You need to be the man that I know you are." Taylor found Brady passed out on a stairway and helped him home. At the Kirakis mansion, Brady insisted he longer lived there. "Yes, he does," Victor told Taylor. Soon after, Victor went to Chez Rogue to thank Maggie for her help. He found Maggie sitting alone, toasting to her and Mickey's anniversary.
Gabi and Will realized that Chad was using the DiMera name, and they backed down on their judgment of his wanting a relationship with Stefano. "I think you do want something with the DiMeras," Gabi noted, "and I think you should go for it." Chad showed Will the torn picture he found of Allie.
Friday
Sami was confused when Gladys, a neighbor, insisted that she saw Rafe being dragged down the hall. Gladys refused to back off from her claim ever after Rafe 2 arrived and seemed completely fine. Sami thought the building's security cameras might reveal the truth, but Gladys revealed that they were broken. "It's nice to see you, Rafe. I don't know what happened. But I'm glad you're feeling better," Gladys commented as she breezed out the door.
The ripped picture of Allie that Chad found in the woods distressed Will and Gabi. "It's been torn, so somebody was angry," Will noted. "It's creepy." The conversation shifted to Chad's developing relationship with the DiMeras and Will offered his support. Later, Gabi thanked Will for being a good guy and kissed him.
Rafe 2 was eager to resume romancing Sami when Will and Gabi arrived. Will handed Sami the torn photo of Sami and she insisted it was ripped on purpose. Rafe 2 tried to calm Sami, but she remained upset. "Some psycho is coming after my daughter," she cried. Sami suggested they check the picture for prints. "It's important to me," Sami voiced. "I want to find out who had their filthy hands on my daughter's picture." To restore calm, Rafe 2 agreed to have the photo checked. I'll take it to the station first thing in the morning," he assured. When Rafe 2 was alone, he crumpled the picture in his fist and tossed it on the floor. After Sami fell asleep, Rafe 2 slipped out and headed for the DiMera basement, where he proceeded to give a very ill Rafe a vicious beating.
EJ stopped by Lexie's office, having checked on details concerning Johnny's surgery. She urged EJ to extend an olive branch to Chad, but EJ was wary. Later, EJ encountered Chad on the pier. EJ acknowledged that Chad was going through a difficult time accepting the DiMeras as his family. "Chad, I want a new brother about as much as you want a new family," EJ pointed out. "It's been a pretty tough year for both of us." EJ then added that he'd be happy to welcome Chad into the family and asked his new brother to be best man at his upcoming wedding to Nicole. "I'll have to let you know," Chad responded. EJ handed Chad his card and asked him to call either way.
Carly was checking on Jennifer when Daniel arrived. Jennifer took note of the close bond between Carly and Daniel and it inspired her to play matchmaker. Jennifer arranged for Daniel and Carly to meet at Chez Rouge. The two quickly realized that Jennifer sent them there under false pretenses. They shared a drink and toasted to Jennifer.
EJ entered the DiMera basement and stopped Rafe 2 from continuing to beat Rafe. Rafe 2 updated EJ on Rafe's movements during the night, including how he deliberately dropped the torn photo of Allie, hoping it would be found. "I'll take care of him, you go talk to Sami," EJ instructed. After Rafe 2 left, EJ warned Rafe that, because of his escape attempt, he and Allie would now pay the price.
Sami awoke from a tragic nightmare about Allie being kidnapped. "Rafe?" Sami called out, puzzled by his absence. Rafe 2 slipped back into bed and claimed that he was checking on Allie. "Do not worry," Rafe 2 advised. "Whoever left that picture, they're never coming into this apartment. That's a promise."
