Monday
Carly said she would leave if Mia didn't want her living at Maggie's. Melanie thought that was a good idea. Mia admitted it was awkward, since Carly knew everything about her and she knew nothing about Carly. Carly understood, but insisted Mia shouldn't feel embarrassed. When Maggie walked in, Carly said it looked like she wouldn't be staying. Melanie said they all decided they weren't compatible. Maggie noted that Melanie didn't make the rules there. Carly decided to leave anyway. Alone, Maggie and Carly discussed the girls, and Carly said she liked seeing Melanie stick up for Mia. Carly left, and Mia returned. She told Maggie she just couldn't deal with Carly. Maggie hugged her.
Hope told Ciara the Christmas present she bought for Bo was perfect, and they had to find a place to hide it. Ciara wanted to hide it under her bed at home. Hope said she couldn't, because someone else was there. Bo interrupted, noting he was the only one at home. After sending Ciara off to see Santa, Hope mentioned Carly leaving. When Ciara returned, Hope told her they could go home. Later, at their house, Bo told Ciara their Christmas tree would be there soon. Hope sent Ciara to hide Bo's gift. Hope lamented to Bo about Ciara wanting things the way they used to be. They discussed how complicated things were between them. Bo pointed out Carly was gone, and Hope suggested Bo tell her everything that was going on with Carly. Bo didn't understand why Hope couldn't accept that he couldn't. "We're partners," noted Hope. Bo reminded Hope she was the one who moved out. The doorbell rang and Hope answered it...to find Carly.
Arianna chatted on the phone with Brady, who filled her in on finding Nicole in Cleveland, but not Sydney. A cop interrupted while Arianna was pouring her heart out to Brady. Brady, who hadn't heard a word, told Arianna he had to go. Melanie noticed Arianna was upset. Arianna went off about Nicole and how Brady saw her as a victim. She wondered if Brady would ever see the real Nicole. Melanie urged Arianna to do something, quick. Arianna got on the phone and booked a flight.
Rafe consoled Sami, while EJ badgered Nicole about Sydney's whereabouts. Nicole swore she didn't know. EJ threatened to kill Nicole. Sami intervened. A nurse came in to toss EJ out of the room. EJ refused to go and grabbed Nicole by the throat. The nurse went for help, and Sami got EJ to stop. Nicole explained what little she remembered from the bus station: she was calling Sami, when someone crept us behind her and she felt a blast of pain. Rafe confronted Stefano in the waiting room. He couldn't believe Stefano had the gall to show up there. A doctor tossed EJ out of Nicole's room. Sami followed. Lots of spatting ensued. Brady insisted Nicole would never do anything to hurt Sydney. Stefano tried to get under Rafe's skin, pointing out how close Sami and EJ had gotten during this crisis. Rafe wasn't worried about a reconciliation, since EJ was a jerk. Brady went to talk to Nicole. Rafe informed EJ that someone was waiting for him. EJ found Stefano and said if he wanted to help, he should leave.
Brady told Nicole he was on her side. She admitted that every time she closed her eyes, she heard Sydney crying. When Brady urged Nicole to tell him everything, Nicole accused him of thinking she'd orchestrated Sydney's disappearance, just like EJ. Outside, EJ ranted that Nicole planned this. Sami told EJ screaming at Nicole wouldn't help. They needed Nicole to calm down. Sami wanted EJ to tell Nicole he believed her, but EJ knew she wouldn't buy it. Sami offered to do it, but EJ doubted that would work, either. Nicole swore she didn't know what happened at the bus station. Brady agreed to help her and left. He told the others Nicole was sleeping and that he didn't think Nicole knew anything about Sydney. "Then who is it? Who has Sydney?" asked Sami. EJ said he knew, just as Stefano approached. "It's you, isn't it? You have our daughter," he spat.
Tuesday
Hope was perturbed when Carly showed up at her front door. Carly explained that moving in with Maggie was a no-go. "First my husband and now you're trying to cozy up to my family?" snapped Hope. Victor arrived and told Bo to get Carly out of his house. Ciara came downstairs, and Victor took her away. Carly apologized for coming by. She said she'd be going to the Salem Inn, so Bo and Hope could get back to what they were talking about. Hope noted they were talking about her. Bo wanted to move on. Hope said they couldn't, if he didn't trust her with Carly's secret. Carly vowed she wouldn't have any more contact with Bo. Hope didn't buy it. After all Carly was there now, when she could have simply called Bo. Finally, Hope left, noting it was a mistake to think they could rebuild their family. Carly told Bo they should tell Hope about her daughter. Bo insisted it had to remain a secret for fear of what might happen if Vivian ever learned the truth. He also insisted Carly move back in with him, so he could protect her. Bo asked what happened at Maggie's. Carly noted she rushed things, and her daughter hated her.
Vivian and Kate traded insults at the Java Café. Kate taunted Vivian about how she'd gushed all over Philip. Vivian taunted Kate about marrying Stefano, the man who tried to kill Philip. Kate accused Vivian of being after Victor. Vivian said her relationship with Victor was her business. Kate spat that if Vivian was moving in on Victor to get close to Philip, it was her business. Kate stormed off. Gus arrived and handed Vivian an envelope from Lawrence's safety deposit box in Switzerland. She read the letter inside and noted someone else needed to see it pronto. Later, Vivian met with Victor at the mansion. She told him Carly killed Lawrence and that execution weren't enough punishment for her. Vivian asked for Victor's support so her revenge could be long and painful.
EJ accused Stefano of taking Sydney, while Nicole laid in her hospital bed thinking about the tyke and praying she was safe. Rafe and Sami demanded to know where Sydney was. Stefano said Nicole knew where Sydney was, but Brady had all of them believing her lies. Sami told Stefano she knew he hated her and wanted to keep her away from Sydney, but implored him to tell them the truth. Stefano swore he'd never take Sydney and wanted the child back. A desperate Nicole decided she had to find Sydney and tried to get out of bed. Roman arrived and told Rafe the Cleveland PD might be onto who took Sydney. Stefano noted he had his people tracking Sydney and said EJ did, too. He suggested combining their resources and doubling their chances of finding Sydney. EJ was against the idea, fearing Stefano would make it so they'd never find Sydney. Stefano warned they'd never find Sydney without his help. Roman told Rafe that Fay helped Nicole, so the cops had her house staked out. Nicole finally made it out of bed. She opened the door to leave, but noticed a cop outside. Roman hugged Sami; then, told Stefano the cops needed his statement. Stefano said they could talk to his attorney. On his way out, he reiterated he just wanted his granddaughter back. Nicole jimmied the lock to another door out of her room, while Rafe began working on a cop to let him go inside and question her. Stefano phoned Kate and filled her in on the Sydney situation, noting that EJ, Nicole and Sami were trying to keep the child away from him and would pay for it. Sami lamented to EJ about the missing Sydney. EJ vowed they'd find their daughter. Meanwhile, Rafe got into Nicole's room, only to find her gone.
Mia told Maggie she was heading to the Java Café to fill in for a pal. Before leaving, they discussed Grace. Maggie suggested Mia might consider reaching out to her mother. Mia doubted they'd ever reconcile and left. Later, Hope found Mia at the café and quizzed her about why Carly didn't move into Maggie's house. Mia asked how Hope knew Carly. Hope noted Carly had lived in town years ago. She asked what Mia thought of Carly. Mia admitted her first impression was that Carly couldn't be trusted and she should stay away from her.
Wednesday
Vivian enlisted Victor's help to get revenge on Carly.
She showed him a letter Lawrence wrote before he died, calling Carly a whore and vowing to invoke the punishment she deserved. Victor assumed Carly had an affair. Vivian assumed it was with Bo. Victor said they had to find out if Bo was involved. He wanted to set a trap for Carly. Vivian noted Kate may have given them the perfect set-up, suggesting she was in Salem to snag Victor. Vivian wanted to let it out that she and Victor were in love.
Hope told Justin how she and Bo were supposed to help Ciara
decorate their Christmas tree, but Carly ruined things. Hope explained Carly was supposed to move into Maggie's house, but Mia didn't want her there. Hope wondered if Carly really didn't come back to Salem to take Bo. Justin believed there was a secret and it involved something dangerous. Hope vowed to find out what it is. Later, back at the mansion, Justin tried to dissuade Hope. Hope insisted she had to uncover Carly's secret. She and Bo couldn't reconcile until Carly was out of the picture. Justin urged Hope to find some way to get back together with Bo. Hope said she was focusing on uncovering Carly's secret. Later, Victor told Hope that Vivian was moving into the mansion as his special guest. Hope said she didn't have a problem with that.
Carly told Bo her daughter hated her. Bo noted things would be different if she knew what Carly had gone through to protect her. Carly swore that could never happen, noting how Lawrence wanted her child dead. "And you're absolutely sure he never said anything to Vivian about her?" asked Bo. Carly said Lawrence was mortified by her betrayal. He didn't want to talk to anybody about it. Carly doubted she'd ever be able to tell her daughter the truth with Vivian around. Bo said they needed to eliminate the threat of Vivian. Later, Bo finished putting up his Christmas tree. He figured Hope wouldn't come by until tomorrow, so Carly could stay the night. Suddenly, Carly realized the date. It was the day they were married. Bo and Carly flashed back to the ceremony. Carly insisted her Christmas wish was for Bo, Hope and Ciara to be together for the holidays. Justin arrived, ready to spill the beans about Hope trying to uncover Carly's secret.
Rafe and EJ learned Nicole escaped from her room. Meanwhile, Nicole, who was inside a supply closet, found some new clothes and changed into them. Brady and Roman talked to Commander Hogan; then, discussed Sami who was off resting at a hotel. Roman suggested Brady talk to Nicole again, while Arianna watched.
Nicole took off. Roman got a call about another person of interest at the train station and took off. Arianna approached Brady. "What in the hell are you doing here?" he asked. Arianna said she was there to help and because of Brady. Rafe and EJ couldn't find Nicole anywhere. While EJ went off on the guard, Rafe found Nicole's things in the closet. Roman returned with Fay in tow. EJ demanded to know where Nicole was. Arianna brought up all the schemes Nicole involved Brady in, yet he kept helping her. "You're like addicted to her," she spat. Fay swore she didn't know where Nicole was. All she knew was Nicole was planning to go to Canada. Roman explained how Nicole was knocked out and brought to the hospital, but escaped. Roman noted that a search of Fay's car turned up a wig, two bus tickets, and a doll that could pass for Sydney. EJ demanded Fay tell the truth. Fay erupted, saying she knew EJ was abusing Nicole. She was glad Nicole escaped and took her granddaughter. Roman delivered the news that Sydney was Sami's child and Nicole stole her. Brady got a call, informing him Nicole had escaped. Roman urged Fay to do the right thing and tell them were Sydney is.
Nicole phoned Fay from the bus station, but she got her answering machine. Nicole hung up. She remembered being there with Sydney and started crying. Suddenly, Rafe showed up. He asked where Sydney was. Nicole swore she didn't know. Rafe pressed. Nicole held firm. She admitted she was calling Sami, because she'd changed her mind and realized Sydney belonged with her. Rafe noted her story about someone hitting her from behind was lame. Nicole pulled away from Rafe and pulled scissors on him. Rafe wrestled Nicole for the scissors. Brady and Arianna showed up. Brady yelled at Rafe not to hurt Nicole.
Thursday
Justin arrived at Bo's door, but spied Carly caressing Bo's cheek and decided to leave. When he turned around, Hope was there. Ciara begged her to come over to decorate the Christmas tree. Hope knocked on the door and Bo answered. Ciara asked why Carly was still there. Justin suggested he and Carly give the family time alone. They headed to the kitchen. Bo was thrilled, until Hope announced she wasn't staying. Bo and Ciara begged her to stay and she agreed. Hope sent Ciara to her room, then told Bo not to put her on the spot again. Justin and Carly emerged and decided to leave. Bo was happy to be alone with Hope, and they reminisced about renewing their wedding vows, their anniversary, and the anniversary of Zack's death. Bo didn't want to go through that alone, and Hope assured he wasn't alone. Ciara returned with cookies, wondering where Santa would leave her presents this year. Hope noted their gifts would be at the Kiriakis mansion and their house, too. Ciara got sleepy, so she and Hope left.
Carly and Justin went to the Java Café. Justin said he believed Carly came back to Salem to see Bo. "You still love him. Admit it," snapped Justin. Carly swore she wasn't in Salem to see Bo. Justin suggested Carly leave town, if she really didn't want to come between Bo and Hope. Then, he revealed seeing Carly and Bo looking cozy earlier. Carly turned the tables on Justin, pointing out he was only supposed to be in Salem a few weeks, but was now living in the same house as Hope. She suggested Justin wanted Hope her for himself.
Mia arrived at Sami's townhouse to tell Will she was sorry about Sydney and offered to help find her. Lucas emerged and asked Will to check on the twins. Alone, Lucas apologized to Mia for misjudging her. Will returned and told Lucas he had no business judging anyone. Lucas said he had actually apologized to Mia. Later, Mia and Will discussed the winter dance. Will didn't think he was going to go because he didn't want to go with anyone but her. Mia agreed to be his date.
Kate encouraged Stefano to think positive about Sydney. As the duo played chess, Stefano raged about EJ trying to keep Sydney out of his life. Kate tried to calm her husband. Stefano asked God to keep Sydney safe, vowing to fight EJ and Sami to keep Sydney in his life.
Rafe wrestled with Nicole was demanding she tell him where Sydney was, when Brady and Arianna raced in. Nicole collapsed.
Brady ran to her side and helped her up. He asked Nicole to tell him everything she remembered. Nicole realized Brady was the only person who cared about her and said she loved him. She swore she didn't know where Sydney was and that the bus station is the last place she saw her. Suddenly, Nicole remembered something — a blurry image, but couldn't make it out. She started sobbing. Rafe announced they had to leave and hauled Nicole off.
At the hospital, Fay swore she didn't know what Nicole was up to. EJ warned her not to cross a DiMera. Fay insisted Sydney disappearing was not part of the plan. Sami learned Nicole escaped from the hospital. "What if we never find Sydney now?" she cried. When Sami went on about Nicole and what an awful job Fay did raising her, Fay let Sami have it. EJ jumped to Sami's defense. Roman returned and reported Fay wasn't near Nicole when Sydney disappeared. He also told them Rafe found Nicole, but there was no sign of the baby. Sami freaked. EJ promised Sami if Stefano had anything to do with this, he would make sure he paid. Rafe, Nicole and company returned. Fay went off on Nicole for lying to her about Sydney as Sami sobbed on Rafe's shoulder. Roman announced Nicole was headed to jail with no bail. Nicole had something to say: She realized Sydney belonged with Sami and EJ and apologized to them. Roman took Nicole away. Arianna told Brady he did everything he could. Rafe suggested he and Sami head home. Meanwhile, someone pushed Sydney in her stroller along a pier.
Friday
Philip arrived at Melanie's door with flowers. Melanie let him in, but insisted she and Nathan were going to work things out. Philip called Nathan “boring” and said he only liked the good parts of Melanie. Melanie said Nathan was "wonderful" and she missed him. Nathan thought about his spat with Melanie at the pub. Daniel delivered good news: he nominated Nathan for a commendation for saving Chloe's life. Melanie arrived and Daniel filled her in on being nominated her for the award, too. Chloe explained they learned Melanie and Nathan were an item and gave Melanie a certificate for a weekend at Green Mountain Lodge. Melanie noted they'd broken up. Nathan suggested Melanie take Philip on the trip. Melanie said they weren't on speaking terms, but realized she and Nathan weren't good for each other either. She started crying and left. Nathan left a message for Stephanie.
Justin showed up at Bo's and went off about seeing him looking cozy with Carly earlier. Bo accused Justin of snooping on him. Justin insisted he cared about Bo and Hope. Bo suggested Justin get a life and stay out of his, Hope's and Carly's.
Stefano chatted on the phone, telling someone to sit tight until further instructions. Meanwhile, a mystery woman sang to Sydney. EJ confronted Stefano and demanded to know where Sydney was. Father and son bickered. Kate interrupted. EJ accused Stefano of kidnapping Sydney. Kate defended her husband. EJ stormed off and phoned Sami. Kate went to fetch Stefano tea. He phoned the mystery woman, who reported all was fine. Kate returned and asked Stefano about EJ's accusations. No matter, she vowed she was on his side.
Sami had a fantasy that Sydney was outside her door; then, it was back to harsh reality. She raced to the door, only to find a newspaper with a headline about Sydney's kidnapping. Bo showed up to go over the details of his case. Sami was convinced Stefano was behind this. Bo promised to find Sydney. EJ arrived, noting he'd figured out how to get Stefano to take them to Sydney. He would fight Stefano for control of their property. If they were caught up in a legal mess, they'd have to stay in the same place and EJ could keep his eye on Stefano. Then, hopefully, he'd slip up. EJ said he'd already bugged Stefano's bedroom and had the phones tapped. EJ noted that he knew Sami got under Stefano's skin and believed she could push him into revealing something.
Carly met Maggie at the hospital. She asked Maggie for another favor; advice before interviewing for a staff position. Maggie wondered why Carly was so desperate to stay in Salem. Later, Maggie and Carly at the pier, Maggie asked why Carly wanted to stay in Salem. Justin interrupted, “The answer's obvious. It's Bo." Carly threatened to fill Maggie in on Justin's dishonorable intentions for a certain someone. Maggie was perplexed and noted she and Carly were talking about work. Justin realized Carly was trying to get a job at the hospital and left. Carly was upset. Maggie wondered if it was because she did have feelings for Bo. Carly swore she knew Bo belonged with Hope. Bo happened upon the ladies before they both took off. Justin found Daniel and asked for his help with the staff selection committee. He wanted him not to approve someone. Carly arrived, stunned to see Daniel. They hugged and were thrilled to see each other.
Vivian found Victor in the Kiriakis living room. He took off his sunglasses to reveal a bruised face, courtesy of an ice skating accident he had while out with Ciara. Philip walked in and discovered Vivian. Victor confirmed Vivian was living there. He and Vivian had "reconnected." Philip didn't buy it. Vivian questioned Philip about the flowers he'd returned with. She assumed things didn't work out with his special someone. Philip didn't want to discuss it. Melanie arrived. Philip asked if she'd changed her mind about the two of them. Melanie admitted she just wanted to hang out, since she and Nathan were done. Later, Vivian ran into Bo and said she had something to tell him. He had a few things to say to her, too. He knew she was plotting against Carly, but wouldn't succeed. Bo said she'd only get to Carly over his dead body.
