DAYS Week of December 6, 2010

Monday

Bo went to see Carly, who was still recovering from the Luma virus. She could tell he was distracted by Hope and offered her support. Bo explained that Hope was thrown into solitary because she knows what's really going on at the prison.

Meanwhile, Tina told a confined Hope that she did have reason to worry about Cara because she died on the operating table. Hope was devastated and stunned when Tina explained that the warden and Lee were acting very friendly toward each other. "The warden knows I'm on to her," Hope
whispered. When Tina turned away, Hope put her in a choke hold and she
passed out. After, Hope walked out of solitary confinement. Meanwhile, the warden reported back to Lee that Hope thinks Lee is responsible for the murders and was insistent that Hope would not discover that they've been in cahoots this entire time. Later, Hope was caught trying to flee. A prisoner named Charlene, whom Hope had arrested and put behind bars years before, was in the warden's office for a transfer when Hope was also brought in. Charlene attacked Hope on sight. Hope explained she wasn't trying to escape and demanded her right to counsel. The warden wasn't sympathetic and threatened to send Hope to a higher security facility with Charlene on the other side of the state. She made the call and sent Hope away with Charlene. Lee panicked, fearing that their plan might backfire.

Jennifer brought Maggie home from the hospital. After she left, Mags was
still rattled and emotional. Later, Brady stopped by. Maggie confronted him about what he did to Vivian. Brady explained that he had no other choice but to keep her there and he'd do it again if he had to. Mags was disappointed in him. "If I didn't know any better, I'd think I was talking to your grandfather," she sighed. Brady added that it might not be such a bad thing. Meanwhile, Vivian continued to explain her outrageous revenge plot to Gus.

At the Pier, Victor promised Kate he wouldn't let Viv hurt her. Stefano
approached and demanded to know what's going on between them. They claimed it's about Philip. Victor and Stefano traded barbs. "You disappoint me, Katherine," Stefano spat and left. Viv watched the showdown from afar.

Jennifer returned to the hospital, where she asked Bo about Hope. She then visited Carly and made it clear she's not choosing sides.

At the DiMera manse, Viv told Stefano everything that had happened in the
mausoleum, fingering Kate and Victor for being in on it together, without
his knowledge. Kate caught a satisfied Viv on her way out. Kate apologized
for going behind Stefano's back and left to collect her things. Stefano was
quietly outraged. "Things are a lot worse than you think," he said to
himself.

Back at the hospital, Ben made a call to the warden, saying they need a
heart for a transplant sooner than he expected. She told him they're
expecting a death and it shouldn't be long. After, Jennifer expressed her
concern to Ben about the ailing woman who needs a heart... Victor went to
Maggie's and declared his love; she slammed the door on him.... Viv saw
Brady, who was wrestling with his conscience, drinking alone. She harassed
him for what he did and for hurting everyone he loves in the end.... Hope
was desperate to figure out what's really going on with the prison deaths.

Tuesday

In Rafe and Sami's bedroom, Sami was awakened by a horrible nightmare: Her baby was kidnapped, and when she turned to an officer for help, it was EJ. Still reeling from the nightmare, Sami wept, "No, no!" Her cries pulled Rafe from his slumber. He took Sami in his arms and comforted her. Sami recounted the nightmare and Rafe assured her that everything would be okay. "Rafe, it's not okay!" Sami protested. "I don't have Sydney. I don't have Johnny. I'm not going to be okay until I get them back." Later that morning, Rafe surprised Sami with a touching gesture: a decorated, yet decidedly lopsided, Christmas tree. Rafe reminded Sami that they were without Sydney last Christmas, and they still put presents under the tree, hoping that she would come back to them. Sami smiled, recalling that Sydney did indeed return. "It's going to happen again," Rafe pointed out. "We're going to get Johnny and Sydney back." Sami resolved to get into the Christmas spirit, for Ali's sake.

Outside the DiMera mansion, EJ was eager to spend the day Christmas shopping with Sydney and Johnny. But Johnny was troubled by his mommy's absence. Later, outside the Brady pub, Caroline was thrilled to cross paths with her great-grandchildren. She invited them in for hot chocolate. EJ declined and added that he was cutting off all contact between her and the children. "God will punish you for what you're doing, EJ DiMera," Caroline warned.

At the DiMera mansion, Nicole was tormented by EJ's demand that she choose between Brady or Sydney; she couldn't have both. EJ found Nicole lost in thought and asked what was wrong. Nicole covered that she was worried they would lose the good feeling between them. Brady brushed aside Nicole's fears and promised that he would always love her.

Philip greeted Melanie good morning with an enticing offer. "Let's go back to bed and make a baby," he cooed. Later, Brady stopped by and apologized for the mess with Vivian. While Philip was busy with a call, Brady took complete responsibility for putting Vivian in box. Melanie retorted that his apology convinced her of one thing; he was being blackmailed by Nicole.

Steffy phoned Caroline and whined because her grandmother hadn't returned her calls. Nathan overheard the tail end of the conversation and asked Steffy if she was having problems with her grandma. Steffy answered yes and added that she had something big to tell him. Their conversation was interrupted by Nathan's beeping pager. They agreed to meet later at the Brady pub.

Kate apologized to Stefano for not telling him about Vivian being locked away in the mausoleum and pleaded with him to give their marriage a fresh start. Stefano agreed to move on, provided he regain Kate's trust. Stefano noted that he had an obligation to fulfill and he would be pleased if Kate were his proxy. He handed Kate a card and instructed her to read it. "Everything will be clear," he toyed. Next, Stefano phoned Daniel and informed him that he had a gift for his baby, a reward for saving EJ.

Kate arrived at Daniel and Chloe's home and presented the gift from Stefano. Kate apologized to Chloe and Daniel for her past misdeeds and acknowledged that she was a dishonest woman who was pathologically jealous, and threatened by everything, especially beautiful, young women. "One day, hopefully, I will learn to be a better person, but until that day, I hope you accept this sincere apology." Kate walked out, leaving Chloe and Daniel stunned by her bizarre behavior. They delayed opening Kate's gift and, instead, turned their attention to planning Parker's upcoming christening.

Kate returned to the DiMera mansion, where Stefano announced he had one more task for her: personally extend an invitation to Vivian for dinner. Kate refused and stormed out of the room.

At the Brady pub, Steffy confronted Caroline and insisted that the truth about Parker must come out. Caroline shared the news about Sami losing her children to EJ. Steffy realized it wasn't the right time for the family to learn her secret. Nathan entered and Steffy blurted to him that she wanted them to marry.

While buying a baby gift for Chloe, Nicole encountered EJ with the children. EJ invited Nicole to join them for Christmas. The invitation, however, would be rescinded if Nicole continued contact with Brady.... Sami and Rafe took Allie shopping and were surprised to cross paths with Nicole and EJ, who were sitting outside the Brady pub with Johnny and Sydney.

Wednesday

Johnny was thrilled to see Sami and ran into her arms. An alarmed Sami caught the warning look in EJ's eyes and gently tried to nudge the boy away. Finally, Sami cried for EJ's aide and he pulled Johnny away. Nicole stood by, helplessly observing the ugly scene, her maternal compassion for Sami palpable. EJ promptly carted Sydney and Johnny away, Nicole tailing behind, while Sami wept in Rafe's arms. Back at the loft, Sami made a resolution to curb her emotions; no more tears. Rafe questioned the wisdom of her decision, noting that shutting down her feelings could lead to dire consequences. He voiced concern that Sami might resort to old behavior patterns and retaliate against EJ. "Let me handle EJ," Rafe instructed. "Everything is going to be fine." Later that day, Sam comforted Allie and promised she would fix everything.

Alone with EJ, Nicole blasted him for his cruel treatment of Sami. EJ was nonplussed. "If I decide to let Samantha have access to Johnny and Sydney again, you are out," he cooly noted. The subject turned to Brady and Nicole questioned why EJ hates him. "Why I hate Brady is not important," EJ responded. "What is important is that he's Samantha's step-brother. He goes nowhere near my daughter." EJ reminded Nicole of the choice she had to make, let go of Brady or lose Sydney. Later, Nicole informed Brady that she was ending their relationship so that she could continue seeing Sydney. Brady refused to let her go.

At the DiMera mansion, Johnny asked EJ why his mommy hates him. EJ told the boy he was wrong. EJ also assured Johnny that he would always love him.

Kate confronted Stefano for canceling her credit cards. Stefano reminded Kate that she's spending DiMera money. "I have a very successful business. I have my own money. I used your cards because I enjoyed being Mrs. Stefano DeMera," Kate pointed out. "I liked seeing the DiMera name on the card because I liked being married to you." Realizing that forgiveness from Stefano wouldn't be forthcoming, Kate announced that she was moving out. Stefano stoically accepted the news and said he'd arrange to have Kate's things sent to her. Kate cupped Stefano's face and quietly said, "I wish things could have gone differently." She softly kissed Stefano on the lips, sealing their separation. As Kate walked away, Stefano was visibly shaken by her departure. Later, Vivian paid Stefano a visit and learned that Kate had moved out of the DiMera mansion.

Brady and Victor schemed to rid themselves of Vivian. "That woman is definitely going to wish she never came back to Salem," Victor vowed. Soon after, Victor ran into Kate. She updated him on her separation from Stefano and Victor suggested Kate move in with him. Kate was caught off guard by the invitation and Victor explained that living under his roof would keep her safe from Vivian. Kate agreed to move back in with Victor.

Meanwhile Vivian and Gus continue her plan against the five who kept her in the sarcophagus. Vivian promised, "They're all going to have to learn what it's like when they treat me badly."

Thursday

Rafe received a call from a source that EJ and Stefano were meeting a mysterious shipment down at the pier. "Hopefully, it's something that's going to give me some leverage," Rafe informed Sami, adding, "We're going to get those kids back." Before he left, Rafe warned Sami not to get involved with EJ, to let him handle it. As soon as Rafe was gone, Sami got Will's old key to the DiMera mansion, and advised Will not to let Rafe know she was headed over to see Johnny and Sydney. "I can't just stand here and do nothing," Sami insisted. With EJ and Stefano out of the DiMera mansion, Sami used Will's key to slip inside and visit her children. Sami stressed to Johnny how much she loved him and his sister. Sami noted that she couldn't explain right now why she wouldn't express her love to the boy in front of EJ. Instead, Sami made a secret code for Johnny, so that he would know his mommy loved him, no matter what she said. The sign? When they saw each other, Sami would hold up her right palm. Sami made Johnny promise that he wouldn't share their secret with EJ.

At the pier, Rafe hid in the shadows and watched EJ and Stefano through binoculars. While they waited for the shipment, Stefano broke the news to EJ that Kate had moved out. EJ didn't think it was a big deal and noted that Kate was responsible for Sami shooting him. "As it turns out, that is not the only thing that she did," Stefano offered, choosing his words carefully. "She kept your brother from being a part of this family," Stefano added cryptically. Confused, EJ urged Stefano to make himself clear. Stefano tried to continue, but was interrupted by a call on his cell phone. After taking the call, Stefano announced to EJ that they would be waiting at the pier for a while longer. An impatient EJ announced that he was headed home.

Bo answered a call from the governor regarding help with Hope. Meanwhile, at the prison, Hope learned from Jane that Charlene would be in the transfer van with her. Soon after, Jane got a call from the governor and abruptly cancelled Hope's transfer. She then phoned phoned Bo and requested a meeting. During the tense encounter, Jane cited various examples of Hope's violent behavior to try and convince Bo that she was a danger, both to herself and others. Bo demanded to see Hope. Jane noted that it wasn't possible, because the prison was on lockdown. At the same time, Lee visited Hope in her cell and made a veiled threat. Later, Jane met with Hope and said she had a job for her. Jane instructed, "You're going to do exactly as I say."

Jennifer and Carly worried over Hope's safety. Carly grew concerned that Jennifer might do something dangerous to help Hope. She reminded Jennifer of the trouble she got herself into trying to helping Carly with Lawrence in the past. Ben spotted the women at the Brady pub and greeted them. After Carly excused herself, Ben and Jennifer discussed the upcoming holidays. Ben accepted Jennifer's offer to help him shop for his niece's Christmas gift.

Nicole told Brady about EJ's demand that she break up with Brady, or lose Sydney. When Nicole spoke of her love for the young girl, Brady questioned who was more important to Nicole, Sydney or him? "Don't make me answer that!" Nicole responded, basically answering Brady's question. Brady pointed out that Sydney is Sami's daughter and she will never giver her up. "Nicole, you're going to end up with nothing," Brady warned. Anxious to keep Nicole, Brady suggested they dupe EJ by staging a very ugly — and public — break-up. "It can't just be EJ that thinks we're through," Brady explained. "The whole town has to think that we're through, which they will, when I throw you out of here in the nastiest way possible."

Gabi visited Will, and they bonded over how much they both missed their siblings. In a tender moment, the two finally shared a first kiss.

As Sami crept away from the DiMera mansion, someone grabbed her from behind.

Friday

Bo was anxious for a word from Hope. At the prison, Jane ordered Hope to dictate a letter to Bo confirming her bad behavior. When Hope resisted, Jane threatened, "You either write this letter now, or I'm going to be forced to make other arrangements." Hope took the dictation. After proof-reading the letter, Jane broke her word. "Why didn't you leave well enough alone? I actually liked you," the warden taunted. "I hate what I'm going to have to do now."

Bo and Carly visited Daniel, Chloe and Parker. Carly quickly took Parker into her arms and cooed over him. "That woman is like a drill sergeant in the OR, but put that baby in her hand and she's mush," Daniel observed to Bo, who said he was happy that everything has worked out for Chloe and Daniel. Alone with Carly, Chloe wondered if Carly had told Bo about the affair with Philip. "Chloe, I never said a word to him," assured Carly, who had misgivings about Chloe's explosive secret. "I'm worried because secrets have a way of coming out, in ways that you don't even see coming," Carly shared.

At the Kirakis mansion, Philip found Victor keeping tabs on Vivian, via the Internet. Philip wasn't convinced that Vivian had the power to hurt them, while Victor countered that Vivian was more than capable of destroying them.

Daniel arrived at the Brady and witnessed Sabrina, a flirty Titan employee, hitting on Philip. The young Kirakis pointed out that he was a happily married and made tracks, not noticing Daniel, who was clearly troubled by the scene.

At the prison, Hope's thoughts were on the letter she was forced to write. "Bo, please, when you get the letter, read it very, very carefully," she said. "Every word of it. You've gotta figure it out, Bo." Meanwhile, Bo read the letter aloud and was disturbed by Hope's reference to Ciara.

Rafe found Sami outside the DiMera mansion, just as EJ and Kate crossed paths. When they had the opportunity, Rafe and Sami fled. Kate criticized EJ for keeping his children from their mother. "EJ, the situation that you're setting up right now is going to produce unhappy, troubled people," Kate predicted. "All of the decisions that you make now are going to prevent them from ever being strong, independent adults." Their heated exchanged was interrupted by Johnny's cries. EJ went to his son's bedside and tried to comfort him. But Johnny longed for his mother.

Rafe blasted Sami for visiting Johnny. He reminded Sami of the power EJ held over them. Sami defended that she was acting like a mother who wanted to protect her children. Eventually, Rafe and Sami reached an understanding. Rafe repeated his promise that he would get Sami's children back for her.

Gabi and Will realize they really care about each other.
