Days Of Our Lives Recaps

DAYS Week of December 24, 2007

Monday

Lucas told Sami that he'd made plans for Christmas — he was heading to Switzerland to visit Will. Sami was upset that their son was still angry at her for forsaking Lucas and marrying EJ and didn't want to see her. However, Sami suspected something wasn't quite right about Lucas' story and made him promise not to go anywhere. Besides, she pointed out, Bo had confiscated Lucas' passport, so he couldn't leave the country anyway.

A down and out EJ couldn't help himself from feeling lonely and unloved. When Tony returned to Salem for a brief visit, EJ confided his troubles to his brother. He explained that his new bride, Sami, had already left him. Tony gave EJ a pep talk, encouraging him to turn his life around. Later, in private, EJ rallied and decided to follow Tony's advice. He vowed to be a better man if God gave him a second chance with his beloved obsession, Sami.

Chloe turned up the heat on Philip and made a play for him, but he coldly rejected her. A scorned Chloe warned him that Belle would always choose Shawn over him. When Philip questioned Chloe about her own love life, she clammed up, refusing to breathe a word about what transpired between her and Brady. Determined to learn what she was hiding, Philip ordered his people to investigate Chloe. Later, he learned Chloe was wanted as a person of interest by the Vienna police department. Brady appeared to be missing.

At Chez Rouge, Belle and Shawn tossed a surprise party for Bo and Hope to celebrate their anniversary, Hope's birthday and Christmas Eve. Belle confided in Kayla about how insecure she felt around her in-laws. Kayla advised her to hang in there and show Bo and Hope just how much she loved Shawn. Later, Kayla urged Hope to give Belle another chance.
Hope decided to try, but had second thoughts upon hearing a conversation between Chloe and Belle. Chloe told Belle that Philip still wanted her and if Belle wanted him, he was all hers.

Tuesday

At Chez Rouge, Hope duly reported to Bo that she overheard Chloe telling Belle that Philip is "all hers." Burdened by the secret, Hope pondered telling Shawn about Belle's affair, but Bo talked her out of it, citing Shawn and Belle's happiness. He further cautioned her that waiting for Belle to mess up will destroy their son's marriage. A guilt-wracked Belle was just about to come clean to Shawn when Maggie interrupted.

Later, Bo and Hope toasted friends and family, and Hope made a moving speech about marriage and commitment. Her words were not lost on Belle. When Philip appeared, Belle seized the opportunity to publicly denounce him and declare her love for Shawn. Elsewhere at the party, Stephanie blew off Max, and Cordy advised her to tell someone about her rape. Stephanie confessed to Kayla — but insisted that Steve never be told. Kayla was devastated, but supported her daughter. Meanwhile, Max voiced his concerns about Stephanie to her father, and Steve reassured him. Then Steve confessed to arranging Steph's job at the Cheatin' Heart.

Philip demanded to know why the Vienna police were chasing Chloe. She claimed that her visa had expired, but when he didn't buy that she confessed she needs his help because she is in trouble.

Elsewhere, Marlena told Roman she was concerned that she hasn't heard from Brady, so Roman contacted the Vienna authorities. Sami tipped Marlena that Chloe is in town. An outraged Marlena summoned her daughter-in-law to the townhouse and blasted her for hiding the truth about Brady. Chloe tried to cover, but Roman had discovered through his Viennese contacts that police found indications of foul play in Chloe and Brady's apartment. Roman had no choice but to take Chloe in for questioning.

Wednesday

Marlena received an odd call from her dry cleaners on Christmas morning, noting they had some old suits belonging to John. She had to pick them up pronto or they'd toss them. Marlena headed to the shop, where she was greeted by a mystery woman named Crystal who claimed to be a psychic. Crystal noted how lonely Marlena looked. The on-target assessment caught Marlena's attention. Crystal went on to describe seeing a man in a forest and began giving different details about him. To Marlena's astonishment, it sounded just like John. Crystal took things a step further when she informed Marlena that John was alive.

Before Marlena could process the stunning revelation, Crystal disappeared. Steve arrived and told Marlena that the whole family was concerned about her. Marlena opted not to breathe a word to him about her meeting with Crystal.

The Horton family all gathered at matriarch Alice's home for the annual "hanging their ornaments on the tree" party, while Lucas said goodbye to Ali at his apartment. Billie arrived to fetch Ali and bring her to the Hortons'
get-together. She quickly sensed that something was up with Lucas, who was quite emotional. Later, Kate roped Philip into helping Lucas get out of the country to avoid being sent to jail for EJ's attempted murder.

Meanwhile, at Alice's, Billie and Maggie both filled Sami in on Lucas' odd behavior of late. Sensing something was amiss, Sami raced home. Unfortunately, she'd already missed Lucas, who had taken off. All she found was a goodbye letter from her beloved ex.

Cordy encouraged Stephanie to open up to Max about Ford raping her. Although she knew she needed to 'fess up to him, Steph wasn't up to the emotional task quite yet. Later, she headed to the annual children's Christmas party at the hospital, where found Max dressed as Santa Claus and Nick as his helpful elf. Steph joined in on the festivities by reading the Christmas story to the sick children. When the kids began asking questions about different religions, Max and Nick explained about everyone coming together for the holiday season. Steph and Chelsea were both deeply moved by their special guys' words and sentiment. Chelsea, who was having visions of Ford, turned to Nick for comfort. He cheered Chelsea up by showing her an online photo slideshow of the two of them. Meanwhile, Steph tried her hardest to open up to Max, but she began having flashbacks of Ford raping her. Haunted by the awful memories of her attacker, Steph ended up pushing Max away. Later, she sought solace from Kayla, who comforted her troubled daughter.

EJ had a major Christmas surprise for Stefano: he revealed that he could walk again to his absolutely delighted father. EJ went on to ask Stefano not to retaliate against Sami for leaving him. Later, back at the mansion, Stefano and Rolf tended to cryptic business — a mystery man in the laboratory.

Thursday

Chelsea sat with Nick cuddled on the couch at the Theta house. They were stunned by a surprise visit from Crawford Decker, Ford's father. Crawford walked in and demanded Chelsea tell him where his son was. Chelsea said she didn't know where Ford was, but Crawford insisted she was lying because she tried to ruin Ford's life with her rumors. "Your son was a rapist," Chelsea replied. "Was? As in he's not now?" Crawford responded, surprised that Chelsea referred to Ford in the past tense. "What did you do to my son?" he yelled. Chelsea gave Crawford her "official" version of what happened. She said Ford arrived at the sorority house drunk and slept it off. Then, the next morning, he left, never to be heard from again. Crawford didn't believe a word of it. He was preparing to search the basement when Billie arrived and stopped him. Billie pointed out that Crawford would need a search warrant to continue looking in the house. Crawford accused Billie of covering for her daughter. Billie countered by showing Crawford the surveillance video of "Ford" leaving the sorority house. He wasn't impressed. His son's face was obscured on the footage, so he said Billie's so-called evidence was worthless. Crawford issued a warning to Chelsea and the rest of her sorority sisters: If any of them did anything to harm his son, there would be hell to pay.

Meanwhile, Stephanie sat at home and cried over the emotional conversation she'd had with Max. While she sat, Max knocked on the door and asked her if they could grab bagels and talk. A confused Max confronted Stephanie about her hot and cold reactions to him. Stephanie had a flashback from being raped by Ford, and she broke down in Max's arms. She covered by saying she couldn't get over what they'd done to Ford. Max reassured her that what happened to Ford was an accident. Stephanie then tried to gather her strength to tell Max that Ford had raped her, but just as she began, she was interrupted by a phone call from Chelsea. Chelsea begged Stephanie to rush to the Theta house. She reported that Ford's dad had been searching the house and would be back with a warrant, so they had to move Ford's body, pronto!

At home, Sami read a letter from Lucas and was absolutely devastated that he ran off with Kate to avoid being arrested for EJ's attempted murder. As Roman attempted to console her, Sami insisted Lucas did not shoot EJ. Roman broke the bad news that the ballistics report came back and confirmed the bullet in EJ's spine indeed came from Lucas' gun. Then, he headed off to look for the fleeing Lucas and Kate.

When EJ arrived at the DiMera mansion, he was surprised the locks had been changed. He was anxious to talk to his father, because he was worried about what Stefano had planned for Little Johnny. While EJ searched through Stefano's things, someone suddenly clubbed him from behind. Stefano told EJ he was hit by his "house guest," but refused to identify the mystery attacker. When Stefano stepped out of the room, EJ overheard him talking to the mystery guest, warning him not to ever show his face. EJ warned Stefano to keep his hands off of Johnny, and Stefano agreed to stay away from the tyke and let EJ raise him however he wanted. Rolf walked in and reported that Lucas was the one who shot EJ, and that he had gone on the run.

EJ rushed back to his apartment to make sure Sami didn't run off with Lucas.
Sami was stunned when she saw EJ walking, and accused him of faking his paralysis. Sami said she wouldn't be surprised if EJ and Stefano had faked the shooting and framed Lucas. Desperate to make nice with Sami, EJ offered to help her find Lucas and bring him home safely.

Friday

Stephanie and Max rushed into the sorority house to help Chelsea, and Chelsea warned them the police would be coming to investigate the place. Max and Chelsea headed for the basement, dug up Ford's body and put it inside an old water heater. Meanwhile, Billie arrived with Sergeant Dodd, who began to search the house starting with upstairs. Chelsea phoned the campus maintenance department requesting someone come out and repair the light near the security camera outside the front door. While Billie and Sergeant Dodd searched upstairs and as the campus repairman blocked the camera, Max and Chelsea wheeled out the old water heater containing Ford's dead body. Later, Billie and Dodd began searching the basement.

With the use of a GPS tracking system installed in all Mythic company cars, EJ was able to obtain Kate and Lucas' exact location. Sami wondered why EJ was helping Lucas. "I'm not helping Lucas. I'm helping you," he replied. EJ added that he was eager to make up for all the bad things he'd done and become a better man for his son. He offered to watch Johnny and Ali while Sami tried to get to Lucas before the cops did. Sami was hesitant about leaving EJ alone with the twins. She told him she thought he would try to run off with Johnny. EJ said if he planned to run away with the baby, he would have done it already. He finally convinced her to trust him, and Sami took off.

In the trunk of the car, Lucas complained about being too cold, so he got out and sat in the car with Kate. When Lucas realized they were at the airport, he freaked out, but Kate said Philip was sending a truck to take them out of the country. Lucas had second thoughts about running away, but Kate convinced him he had to get out of the country until her lawyers could clear him of EJ's shooting. She told him if he went to jail, Stefano would make certain he never came out. Kate then informed Lucas that she was going with him. Lucas felt bad about having Kate go with him, and he felt worse about setting a bad example for his kids by running away from his problems. Soon, the trucker arrived to take them away. As they were leaving, Sami showed up and begged Lucas not to go.

At the DiMera mansion, Rolf told Stefano that the mystery guest had escaped.
Later, at Chez Rouge, a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt pulled up, wandered in and almost ran into Hope and Marlena. Marlena sensed a presence and turned around, but by then the stranger was gone. The man headed back to the DiMera mansion before anyone saw him. Stefano was relieved to have his friend back home and told Rolf to make sure he didn't get out of the mansion again.

While sitting at dinner, Marlena flashed back to the day she sat by John's side when he died in the hospital. Hope came up, and Marlena told her about the encounter she had with the mysterious Crystal and how she told her John was alive. Hope didn't buy it. She thought it was a scam and begged Marlena not to get her hopes up. "You saw him take his last breath," Hope noted. "I think he's alive," Marlena replied. "I can feel it." While they chatted, a mysterious person was eavesdropping on their conversation. The two women finally decided to check things out, so they headed to Crystal's psychic shop. When they arrived a construction worker informed them that no one had been in the building in months. Hope said they should try to figure out who was tying to trick Marlena. After they left, Crystal, who'd been listening to their conversation, emerged.
