Monday
At the hospital, Sydney began to cry when the nurse readied her for the DNA tests EJ wanted. Stefano assured Nicole everything would be fine, then he took a call. Nicole noted — out loud — that she would not lose her baby. Mia overheard and asked her what was wrong with Sydney. Nicole insisted Sydney was fine and was just getting blood work done to make sure she's healthy. She also explained that she had it covered and the DNA results would be a match to Nicole and EJ. Mia said she would have given her DNA or blood work, but Nicole pointed out that Mia gave up her rights to Sydney a long time ago. Mia explained that she still cared about the baby. Later, she went to the park and typed in her online diary. She had a flashback to happier times with Chad and wrote that she didn't hate him, though she knew she should.
Rafe was thrilled when Sarah the nurse recognized a photo of Sami on his cell phone. Sarah revealed that Sami gave birth to a baby girl the night EJ was at the clinic. Sarah looked through the files, but couldn't find Sami's records. Rafe returned to the Brady Pub after and filled in Arianna about what he found out at the clinic. He pointed out how "miraculous" it was that Nicole and Sami gave birth in the same place on the same night. They tried to get to the bottom of what was going on. Rafe thought Nicole may have heard Sami was in labor and went to the clinic to "do something" that she thought nobody would ever find out about. Ari couldn't believe Nicole would do something to harm a baby. Rafe said he wouldn't put it past her, then brought up all the time Nicole was squirrely after Grace's death. Ari warned him about going up against the DiMeras, but he said it was something he had to do. He noted that even though they were split, he still loved Sami and had to get answers for her.
At the station, Bo and Hope tried to come to an agreement with how to deal with Ciara's disappearance. Bo assured his wife that Ciara would be fine and they'd get her back. Bo went outside to meet the press, even though Hope was not on board. Justin talked it out with her. Bo made an on-air plea, offering $5 million in reward money for any information that would help them find Ciara or her kidnappers. Hope and Justin came out while Bo was talking. Bo called Hope over to join him during the live feed and she was forced to go on camera. "Help us," she plead. After, she excoriated Bo for bringing her into it. "You're going to get her killed!" Hope cried, then ran out, saying she couldn't stand to look at him. Justin came upon her in the park and comforted her. Bo found them and told Justin to step off because he was getting too close.
In the cabin, Dean, Kyle and Brenda argued over how to proceed with Ciara after Bo's declaration that he wouldn't pay ransom. They watched Bo's press conference with wide eyes and expressed panic. Dean tried to calm down Brenda and Kyle while flicking his lighter. Ciara heard the noise.
Will put up MISSING signs for Ciara all over town. He ran into his pal and said he couldn't attend a party that night. Chad came over during their chat and overheard Will say he couldn't go. Mia arrived at the Cheatin' Heart later and found out that Will wasn't showing up. She went to call him. Chad walked in and his pal, T, asked him to watch the music player. Chad put on his and Mia's song. They locked eyes just as Will walked in.
In the Dominican Republic, a desperate Dr. Baker needed to get his hands on some cash to pay off his bookie. He called Nicole and told her he wanted more money. He threatened to blow the lid off the baby switch with Sami if Nic didn't pay up. She reported into Stefano after. He said he would take care of Baker.
Tuesday
Nicole encountered EJ at the hospital. He pointed out that the DNA tests are finished. She was cagey, especially after getting a call from Baker, who is in the Caribbean. Back at home at the DiMera manse, Nicole put Sydney down for a nap and tried to initiate a sexy romp with EJ, who surprised her with a honeymoon trip. She was thrilled but told him no after he revealed it was in the Caribbean. EJ was confused; Nicole covered and said she wants to go someplace where she can still protect Sydney. They brainstormed a better location where a natural disaster wouldn't thwart the trip.
Rafe told Sami to be more cautious about Nicole and expressed his confusion about why her enemy is now suddenly her BFF. Sami explained that losing Grace changed everything for her. Rafe apologized for interfering in her life. Sami said he was once everything to her but now it's over and advised him to just get out of it and walked away. After, Rafe told Ari about his chat with Sami. She suggested he find Dr. Baker and wondered if the doc fled to the Caribbean. She also pointed out the hurt and pain he'd caused. A light bulb went off and Rafe made a call, hoping to find a lead about Grace from a sister at the convent. It didn't work. Ari told him to use his bureau contacts to locate Baker.
At the station, Roman asked little Theo to explain what he meant when he said he saw Ciara with an angel. Lexie and Abe tried to make sense of what Theo was trying to say. Roman surmised that the kidnapper has an angel tattoo. Meanwhile, at the park Hope angrily told Bo that she'll never forgive him if there's blood on his hands and Ciara gets killed. "If we pay that ransom, Ciara will die," Bo explained, and did his best to rally Hope and stand as a united front against the kidnapper. Hope was scared that there'd be no reason for the kidnappers to keep their daughter alive if they get the money and refused to follow Bo's plan.
At the cabin, Dean told Ciara that it's all going to come to an end for her very soon. He started to fondle the barrette in her hair when Brenda and Kyle entered and asked him what he's doing. They explained that they didn't make it far on their search for food because there were police check points all over the place and didn't want to risk being connected to the kid. Brenda panicked and said they should just take the money and get out. Dean demanded they relax. Then he told them that someone noticed Kyle's tattoo and that the ransom deal is off. He angrily advised them to lie low so no one sees the tattoo and watch after the kid while he pretended to be a cop searching for Ciara to keep the real authorities off their trail. Then he added that Hope Brady will regret not making the ransom drop before.
Will showed up at the Cheatin' Heart, much to Mia's surprise. Chad glared in Will's direction. Will explained that he couldn't stay because of the Ciara situation, but agreed to dance with Mia before he split. Chad was miffed as he watched the duo dance to his and Mia's song. Kinsey arrived drunk and spied Mia pull away when Will tried to kiss her. Kinsey offered a bummed-out Chad some booze, which he declined. After Will left, Chad confronted Mia and told her that he still loves her.
Sami went to the park, flashed back to the day Grace died and broke into sobs. She was taken aback when she saw EJ out for a stroll with Sydney. They argued about Rafe. Sami accused EJ of having something to do with the fact that Rafe is no longer in her life. He told her to stop blaming her failures on his family and to take control of her life, adding that he's happy. After he departed, Dr. Baker called Sami.
Dean went back to his hotel room, swiped photos of himself and covered his tracks. "It's like I never even existed," he smirked. Meanwhile, back at the station, Roman and Bo went through a list of criminals to locate one with an angel tattoo. Hope freaked out when she learned the possible kidnapper is a registered sex offender and is staying at the Crestview Motel. Later, they raided the motel room and found nothing. Dean returned to the cabin, pulled out his gun and shot a presumably sleeping Ciara.
Wednesday
Sami got a call from Dr. Baker. She wondered how he knew her name and got her number. Baker said it wasn't important. "What is important is what I have to tell you about baby Grace," announced Baker. Sami assumed he was phoning to offer his condolences over Grace's death. Baker was stunned to learn Grace died. He explained he was calling patients to let them know he'd moved to the Dominican Republic in case they had any questions. Sami said she had a question, but Baker cut her off.
Rafe went to the mansion to talk to Nicole about Sami and Grace. Nicole insisted she cared about Sami and wouldn't wish what happened to Grace on her worst enemy. Rafe thanked Nicole for being a good friend to Sami. Nicole's cell rang, but she ignored it. It rang again, and Nicole answered it. It was Dr. Baker, asking why she hadn't told him about Grace and noting the price for his silence had gone up. Nicole pretended it was someone else and hung up. Rafe didn't buy it. The conversation turned back to Sami and Nicole's friendship. Rafe distracted Nicole by mentioning Johnny and picking up his picture. When Nicole grabbed it back, Rafe swiped her phone. After he left, Nicole realized her phone was gone. Later, Rafe tracked the number on Nicole's phone to the Dominican Republic,.
Chad tried to keep Mia from getting into drunk Kinsey's car. Mia insisted she wasn't leaving with Chad after what happened "the first time." "You mean when we had sex?" asked Chad. Mia didn't want to talk about it, noting how Chad wanted nothing to do with her afterwards. Chad said his parents sent him away and begged Mia not to get into Kinsey's car. He loved Mia and didn't want anything to happen to her. Chad went to get his keys, and Mia took off. Chad returned and heard a crash. At the pub, Will and Lucas discussed Ciara's kidnapping and how worried Caroline was. Lucas questioned Will about the party he was supposed to go to and wondered if Mia was there. Will got on his dad for not liking Mia. Will got a call from Tad about Mia's accident and took off. At the hospital, a cop told Mia she was lucky she didn't get into Kinsey's car. The passenger side was crushed. Chad arrived, and Mia realized he saved her life. Will showed up, and Chad went to see Kinsey, who got on his case about being hung up on Mia. Chad insisted they weren't over. Outside, Mia told Will she was shaken up about what happened and would put down her thoughts in her journal, as Chad listened.
Lucas packed Allie's things at Sami's apartment. The tyke was headed on a trip to see her grandmother. Sami told Lucas that Dr. Baker called her earlier and admitted how Grace's death was still hard on her. Sami was thankful she had family and friends to support her. Lucas questioned Sami's friendship with Nicole. Then, they discussed Chloe, Will's relationship with Mia, and Sami's failed romance with Rafe. Sami noted that even though Rafe loved her, he wouldn't share his secrets with her. After Lucas and Allie left, Sami wondered why Baker really called her.
Roman, Bo and Hope perused a map and deduced the kidnappers took Ciara to one of three locations. Hope went off on Bo about putting a bounty on the culprits' heads. Now there was no incentive for them to keep their daughter alive. Bo phoned the station and ordered the cops to check out two of the locales. Bo and Hope left for the third. Dean returned to the cabin and told Brenda and Kyle they were going to leave. Brenda asked what would happen to Ciara. Dean took out his gun. Kyle protested, and Dean shot him. Brenda accused Dean of wanting her and Kyle out of the way so he could keep the ransom money. Dean insisted it wasn't about money. Brenda tried to reason with him about getting even with Hope. Dean shot Brenda, just as Bo and Hope arrived. They burst into the cabin to find two bodies and Dean shot in the shoulder. Bo and Hope rushed over to Ciara. Dean lied that Kyle and Brenda came at him with guns, so he shot them; then, flashed back to planting guns by both bodies and shooting himself. Kyle came to, took a swing at Bo, and said he wasn't alone in this. Hope told Ciara that Dean was the brave man who saved her. "No, he didn't," retorted Ciara.
Thursday
Kate fantasized about being in bed with Daniel, while he thought about her and muttered she wasn't completely in control. Daniel phoned Lexie, but she ignored the call. Lexie found Theo crying out for Ciara. Abe announced Ciara had been found. A happy Nathan picked up Melanie. Kate approached Chloe's room, but left when she saw Nathan. Nathan apologized for hurting Melanie's feelings the other night. Melanie admitted she freaked when she saw Nathan and Steph talking and thought he was asking her on a date. She'd since realized that wasn't the case and was sure Philip and Steph were back together. Kate went into Chloe's room and taunted her about Daniel's predicament. Nate entered and asked what Kate was doing there. Kate noted she was Chloe's mother-in-law and had every right to be there. Kate went on about Lucas being lost without Chloe and how he wanted her to get better. Nathan thought Lucas should be making decisions about Chloe's treatment. Kate said it was none of Nathan's business.
Steph held a poster with Ciara's picture on it, while Philip talked to Brady on the phone. A cop showed up and reported Ciara had been found. Later, the pair were at the Cheatin' Heart, where Philip treated the volunteers, despite being broke and unemployed. Steph said they could live on her salary. Philip was pleased, as the pair discussed their relationship. He knew things would take time and he was fine with that. Steph thought Victor would ruin things if they got back together and noted her family wasn't thrilled with their being a couple, either. But if they loved each other, their families would have to deal with it. Steph admitted being hopeful regarding the two of them. With honesty they could get through anything. Philip flashed back to his romp with Melanie. "I need to tell you something," he said.
Ciara told Hope that Dean wasn't the one who saved her. It was her mommy and daddy. Roman said an ambulance was on the way and took Dean off. Bo, Hope and Ciara shared a family hug, before heading to the hospital. Lexie informed Roman that Dean would be fine. Roman reported that the man who took Ciara was a registered sex offender. Hope wanted Bo checked out, since he'd been hit on the head. Bo said he was fine. Lexie returned from examining Ciara and reported there were no signs of physical abuse. Bo and Hope went to talk to Dean, while Roman took his statement. Dean explained how he went to call for backup, but saw the kidnapper put a blanket over Ciara and reach for a gun. So he went in and took him out. Hope fretted about how scared Ciara must have been. Bo suspected someone else was involved in Ciara's kidnapping and noted they needed to find them. Bo stood up and nearly fainted. Hope told Lexie what happened. Roman brought Dean in. Hope expressed her gratitude to him. Roman reported that neither kidnapper had ties to Bo or Hope. Lexie announced Bo had a concussion. Bo insisted on going home and returned with Ciara asleep in his arms. Roman wheeled Dean out and he began flicking his cigarette lighter. Cue the flashback as a blindfolded Ciara heard the same noise in the cabin.
Brady got the good news about Ciara. Daniel asked if Brady could help him get to Chloe. Brady said no, because he learned the drug Daniel wanted to give Chloe could kill her. Daniel said it was the only way to save Chloe's life. Then, he went off about Kate hurting Chloe and framing him. Brady suggested getting Chloe's father involved. Daniel told Brady how Kate had an Achilles heel: him. She was obsessed with him and wanted him to suffer. Brady started coming around, realizing how Kate got regarding Philip, and agreed to help Daniel. Melanie found Brady in the park. He told her Chloe needed her help. Brady asked Melanie to lead him to a person who had medical knowledge and could follow Daniel's directions. Later, Melanie asked Nathan for his help, and he agreed to talk to Daniel.
Daniel sat on the pier, drank from a flask, and had a vision of Chloe. They kissed and said they loved each other. Back to reality, Kate arrived, and Daniel walked over to her.
Friday
Craig arrived at the hospital to visit his comatose daughter, Chloe, as Lucas looked on skeptically. After Craig performed his own exam on Chloe, he broke it to Lucas that he hadn't identified anything new. He looked over at his daughter and tearfully admitted that the chances of her surviving are slim. After a moment alone with Chloe, Craig told Lucas that whatever her husband decides, he and Nancy are going to stand behind it. "I know what I have to do," Lucas whispered once Craig was gone.
Kate ran into Daniel, who was drinking away his pain at the docks and told Kate she has no idea what she did to him. "You broke my heart and you don't even know," he slurred. She pointed out that he didn't seem to care one bit after they split up, but he claimed he'd never felt the way about anyone that he feels about her. Kate wasn't completely sold on his declaration of love and ripped open his shirt, accusing him of wearing a wire. Daniel stumbled back and began to take off his clothes to prove her wrong, then asked why she couldn't have just given them a chance. When she asked if that meant he and Chloe amounted to nothing, he told her to just go home because he'd wasted enough time talking to her, then resumed to drunkenly stumbling around the docks. Back at home, Kate flashed back to the bizarre encounter and wondered if she was really being played. Meanwhile, Daniel privately vowed to bring Kate down and do whatever it takes to save Chloe.
EJ tried to explain the difference between football and handball to baby Sydney when he encountered Mia in the park. He handed the baby over to Mia so that he could take a call and later remarked that once you have a child, you realize you'll do anything for them. "I already know that," Mia smiled. EJ headed to the hospital, where Lexie promptly berated him for continuing to meddle in Sami's life.
At the Brady Pub, Brady promised to return for another cup of coffee, flirtatiously telling Arianna that it's nice to have something to look forward to. Arianna swung by Rafe's table and beseeched her brother to reconsider his investigation into Dr. Baker and Grace's death. Just then, Dr. Baker called Nicole's phone from the Dominican Republic. He texted in response to the call, asking what he wants. Dr. Baker responded that they have a lot to talk about. Reluctantly, Ari gave her brother a loan so that he could catch a plane to the DR. As soon as Rafe was gone, her phone rang and she told the mystery caller she'd meet him or her in the park. Brady, meanwhile, called the pub only to hear that Ari had stepped out. Ari met up with Giovanni, who said he needed a little something extra for his "trouble". Brady walked up and made his presence known, challenging Arianna to tell him what's really going on.
Nicole paled when Sami showed up and announced that Dr. Baker contacted her. Sami followed Nicole into the living room and said that the doctor asked how Grace was. She tearfully recalled how happy she was when Dr. Baker first handed Grace to her. "I just want her back," Sami cried into Nicole's shoulder. When Sami decided that she wanted to call Dr. Baker and confront him about why Grace really died, Nicole tried to make her see that that's not going to help Sami move on. After Sami's visit, Nicole was on edge and became even more nervous when she took a call from Dr. Baker and realized that someone had texted him from her phone. He asked for more hush money but she refused. "No problem, I'll just return Sami Brady's call," he threatened. Nicole promptly left a message for Stefano. EJ overheard the tail end of it and asked Nicole why she needs his father's help. Meanwhile, Dr. Baker was packing his bags when something he saw made him stop dead in his tracks.
