Monday
Sami was stunned by EJ's proposal and declaration of love. "I can't," cried Sami, admitting she cared about EJ, but still had feelings for Rafe. Sami ran off. EJ caught up with her at the mansion. They went back and forth about their situation. EJ was glad they were finally being honest with each other. He knew Rafe was in Sami's head, but didn't believe it would always be that way. Sami swore she was in love with Rafe and couldn't marry EJ. "But you love me, too," said EJ. Sami conceded she was confused. EJ insisted Sami keep the ring. He loved her more than any man ever would. Sami cried. Johnny interrupted and asked why. Sami explained they were happy tears. Johnny asked if his parents were getting married. Sami realized father and son had discussed this. EJ explained Sami didn't want to get married right now, but they'd all still be together as a family.
Rafe approached Fay at the diner, noting he had a few questions to ask her about Nicole. Fay dodged and went to finish her shift. Rafe got into Fay's locker and found an envelope, but it was empty. Fay returned and offered Rafe a cup of coffee. Rafe said Nicole was mixed up with EJ again and asked if Fay had been in contact with her of late. Finally, Fay opened up, revealing Nicole had sent her an envelope and told her to guard the contents with her life. "Does that mean you know what's inside?" asked Rafe.
Nicole gave Marco instructions to put Baker under house arrest until he heard from her. Marco left, as Brady arrived. Nicole lied that Marco was a messenger from the news station. She asked why Brady was there. He moved in for a steamy kiss, telling Nicole he wanted to give things between them a shot. "You are the one," admitted Brady. A stunned Nicole took Brady up on his offer for some loving. Afterwards, Nicole rhapsodized about how things would be good for them from now on.
Baker got a call from Charlie, who told him the horse he bet on paid 50 to 1. He wondered if he'd see Baker back at the poker table. Baker said no. The money was a sign. He was leaving Salem. Baker wrote Hope a good-bye note, saying he'd always love her.
Ciara told Bo about Hope's stolen wallet collection. Bo left the tyke with a babysitter and prepared to go find Hope, when Justin called wanting to talk. Bo joined him at the pub. Justin told Bo that Hope was behaving like two different people. Bo split to go talk to Hope. Meanwhile, Hope prepared to kill Bo. She picked up a letter opener, when Vivian approached. They discussed the incident with Carly, earlier. Vivian noted someone needed to stop Carly. "I know what to do," assured Hope. They discussed Carly killing Lawrence. Hope thought Carly had a case for what she'd done. Vivian called Carly a monster. Hope assured she wasn't on Carly's side, after what she did to her family. She warned Vivian there were a lot of women like Carly out there and suggested Vivian keep an eye on her husband.
Vivian showed up at Maggie's door. She confronted Maggie about making a pass at Victor. Maggie insisted she wasn't throwing herself at him. They were just friends. She told Vivian to go. Vivian warned Maggie to leave Victor alone or she'd be sorry. "Bite me," snapped Maggie. Vivian left muttering that her bite was worse than her bark.
Hope phoned Bo and said they needed to talk about Ciara, while she waited for him at their home with a knife in hand. Hope phoned Baker and chastised him for ruining her last attempt on Bo's life. She told Baker she'd be leaving town and said goodbye. Hope hid her knife behind a couch cushion before Bo arrived. Bo admitted he thought something was terribly wrong with Hope. "Everything that's wrong. You caused it," retorted Hope, noting it was time for them to say good-bye. Hope rambled about Carly moving into their bed. Then, she retrieved her knife, lunged at Bo, and announced, "On behalf of women everywhere: Good-bye, Bo Brady."
Tuesday
Baker was ready to leave Salem, when a cop arrested him. Meanwhile, Nicole rolled around in bed with Brady, admitting this was the happiest day of her life. Afterwards, Brady found the ultrasound picture of Nicole's baby. She confessed she couldn't have survived her miscarriage without him. Nicole's phone rang. It was Baker, explaining he'd been arrested. Nicole rushed off, telling Brady she had to go to work. At the station Nicole told Baker she'd arranged for someone to grease the right palms and get him out of there, but it couldn't happen until tomorrow. Then, she never wanted to see him again. Back at Nicole's place, Brady got a call from the bank about activity in Nicole's account. Then, he found Nicole's statement noting a $5 million transfer. Brady wondered what she'd done now.
Fay hesitated answering Rafe's questions. Rafe noted he and Nicole had the same enemy: the DiMeras. If Fay wanted to protect Nicole, she should tell Rafe what Nicole had on them. Fay explained Nicole paid back the $1,000 she owed her and a little extra. Nicole also sent her a package, saying no one could see it or she'd be in trouble. Fay thought Nicole might be blackmailing somebody. Rafe asked to see the package. Fay said he couldn't. After starting to read Nicole's letter, she made a decision. Fay returned with a bag filled with paper scraps and a broken CD. Rafe asked if Fay read the letter or listened to the CD. Nope. Rafe took the bag and said he'd see what his lab could piece together.
Chloe was on the phone with Philip discussing the upcoming paternity test, when Melanie suddenly appeared. She explained Daniel had given her a key to their apartment and apologized for scaring Chloe. Melanie confessed Chloe's pregnancy made her realize she wanted to have Philip's baby, but said he wanted her to finish nursing school before they had kids.
Carly finished taking Daniel's blood sample, lying that she was conducting a gene mapping study. Daniel sensed Carly's upset over Bo. Carly wanted the person who tried to kill him locked up. Daniel thanked Carly for helping him work things out with Chloe. He said the pregnancy was going well and wished he'd been there when Carly had Melanie. Melanie arrived, and she and Carly chatted. Melanie didn't think Chloe liked her, but surmised why. She'd told Chloe she'd make her pay if she hurt Daniel and that would always be in the back of her mind. Later, Melanie chatted with new nursing student, Kathleen. She introduced Carly and Daniel to her. After Kathleen left, Daniel told Melanie she liked seeing her and Carly getting along. Melanie noted that she liked having a mom and a family. Then, she and Daniel made plans to go to St. Mary's tomorrow. Carly arrived at Chloe's, noting she'd gotten both Melanie and Daniel's DNA samples. Now all Chloe had to do was report to St. Mary's for a paternity test tomorrow.
Hope lunged at Bo with her knife. "What are you doing?" he asked. "Killing you," retorted Hope. They struggled. Hope yelled about the pain Bo caused her. The knife hit Bo's hand and he started bleeding. Bo apologized for hurting Hope. Hope said she might have failed last night, but this time she'd rip Bo's heart out. "That was you?" gasped Bo. Hope said she had to stop Bo from killing her and Ciara, noting how Carly moved into their home and she had to explain it to their little girl. "You don't want me dead," countered Bo. "She doesn't," conceded Hope. Bo began putting the pieces together as he wrangled the knife away from Hope. Later, Hope sat handcuffed to a chair. Bo found Hope's sleeping pills and called Carly. Carly explained they were potent and occasionally caused sleepwalking among women. Hope told Bo the pills didn't do this to her; he did. Bo set up a camera and asked Hope to tell him her side of things. Hope explained how she started falling apart after Bo took up with Carly. She got pills from her doctor to sleep, and he told her she needed a way to deal with her anger. Bo realized that was when she started the muggings. Hope admitted ultimately realizing the only man she wanted power over was Bo and the only way for her to have peace was if he was dead. "I hate you," she screamed. Bo swore he still loved Hope. Hope sobbed. "I'm so sorry," said Bo. "So am I," admitted Hope, before drifting off to asleep. A devastated Bo wondered what he'd done.
Wednesday
Bo researched the sleeping aid Hope was taking and remembered the horrific night before. A confused Hope woke up. Bo asked the last thing she remembered. Hope recounted being at Victor's, having a chat with Carly and Vivian about Lawrence's stabbing, and taking a sleeping pill and going to bed. Bo held up the pill bottle, noting it was the key to everything. He told Hope they'd found the mugger and played her taped confession. Hope watched in horror. "What have I done?" she gasped. Bo said it was the sleeping pills and promised they'd get through this. Hope said they both knew what had to be done: Bo had to arrest her. Roman called and told Bo they had a break in the case. He asked where Hope was. Bo said she was there with him and hung up. Hope said she deserved to be behind bars and was ready to face her punishment. Just then Ciara ran in and hugged her mother.
Philip stopped by Steph's apartment and found Nathan. He thanked him for supporting his bid for new equipment for pediatrics and said he was glad Nathan and Steph were doing well. The guys headed off to talk hospital business. Meanwhile, Adrienne joined Stephanie at the pub and asked how she liked living with Nathan. "I think I made a terrible mistake," admitted Steph, noting she found a picture Nathan had kept of him and Melanie. Adrienne thought Steph was overreacting. Philip and Nathan walked in and said hi. Philip decided they should go elsewhere for brunch, and the guys headed off. Steph thought it was odd Philip couldn't wait to get out of there. Adrienne said Philip had been edgy since she saw him at Daniel's apartment, picking up Chloe's watch. Steph decided whatever Philip was hiding had to do with Chloe.
Carly called Chloe, saying she was headed to St. Mary's. Daniel emerged and told Chloe they could spend the day together, since his consultation got rescheduled. Chloe said she'd already made plans. Fortunately, Daniel got a call informing him the consultation was back on. Chloe left, and Daniel went to Maggie's to pick up Melanie en route to the consultation. Carly and Chloe arrived at St. Mary's for the paternity test. Sister Anne took Chloe, a.k.a. Dana Scott, to her room. Chloe thanked Carly for all her help and suggested she might ask Carly to be her baby's godmother. The gals laughed at how Victor would react. Carly went to fetch Sister Anne, who was off talking to Daniel about his consultation with Donna Scott. Another nurse handed Daniel the wrong chart for Dana Scott. Soon, Daniel was standing outside Chloe's cubicle, asking if he could open the curtain. Chloe panicked, while Carly bumped into Melanie.
Nicole was on the phone with Baker, promising he'd be bailed out soon and they should head to his apartment and stay out of sight. Brady was on the phone with the bank trying to get information about Nicole's wire transfer. Later, Nicole arrived home. Brady kissed her, then asked about her investments. Nicole confessed she was nearly broke. Brady pressed, but got nothing. He told Nicole she could come to him if she needed money; then, he pushed her up against the wall and started kissing her passionately. Nicole was surprised by Brady's forcefulness. Things got hot, heavy and rough. "That was intense," she told Brady afterwards. Brady was cold. Nicole asked if he was upset about something. "Why? You haven't done anything, have you?" he asked. Then, Brady erupted, yelling that he was through being Nicole's victim and how he hoped she enjoyed their little fling, because it was the last time they'd ever be together.
Nicole was hurt and confused. Brady demanded she tell him the truth about her finances.
Roman vowed to find the culprit who tried to off Bo, while Baker paced and waited for Nicole's flunkie to arrive and bail him out. Soon, a composite sketch arrived via fax of the person buying the items used to try to burn Bo alive. Roman realized the guy in the sketch looked familiar. He went over to Baker and announced, "It is you." Baker denied Roman's accusations. Roman told him there would be no bail.
Thursday
Daniel stood outside Chloe's cubicle, thinking she was burn victim Donna Scott and started to open the curtain. Chloe grabbed it. Daniel suggested Donna might want to talk to someone named Chloe and called her. Chloe turned her phone off. Melanie bumped into Carly, who explained she was at St. Mary's with a friend. Sister Anne interrupted, noting she was just talking with Melanie's father. A nurse reported Daniel was with Miss Scott. Carly said that was her patient. Carly sent Melanie to get sodas; then, asked the nurse what room Daniel was in. Daniel tried to reach out to "Donna." Chloe whimpered. Daniel thought her voice sounded familiar. Melanie returned to find Carly gone. Daniel tried to open the curtain to Chloe's cubicle. Carly rushed up and stopped him. She explained she brought this patient in and noted the woman spoke very little English. Then, she directed Daniel to his patient's room. Carly consoled Chloe; then, went to find Daniel, explaining she volunteered at a center for immigrants. Daniel thought Carly's patient understood what he was saying. Melanie walked up, noting a nurse told her "Donna" was getting a paternity test. Daniel wanted to talk to "Donna" to apologize and ran off. Carly tried to stop him, to no avail.
Nicole insisted she didn't lie or do anything wrong and asked why Brady was so angry. Brady produced the bank receipt and demanded to know how Nicole got her hands on that much cash. Nicole tried to dodge, going on about how much Brady meant to her and how much she loved him. Brady stood firm. Nicole noted all the terrible things she'd done in the past and how Brady forgave her. "Can't you give me one more chance?" she pleaded. Brady said no and asked Nicole to go down to the police station with him. Nicole saw no reason to explain the deposit to the cops. Besides, Hope, Roman and Bo hated her and would love to send her back to prison. Nicole begged Brady to let her explain. He refused.
Roman told Baker he knew he bought the stuff to set Bo's house on fire. Baker denied it and asked to make a phone call. Roman asked why Baker wanted to kill Bo and asked if he was working with someone. Baker remembered back to Hope. Soon, Roman received information on Baker. He asked if he delivered Sami's baby and gave that child to Nicole. Baker kept mum. Roman got tough. Baker admitted he didn't plan it. Roman asked who did or promised it would all come down on Baker. Baker wanted an attorney.
Ciara ran into her house and asked if her mommy and daddy were back together. Bo and Hope broke the bad news: they weren't and mommy had to go away. Hope explained she'd done something wrong and told her daughter she loved her. "I don't want you to go," cried Ciara, begging Bo to make Hope stay. Julie arrived and offered to take Ciara to the park, while Bo and Hope worked things out. Hope said they had to go and said good-bye to Ciara. The tyke ran upstairs, crying. Julie asked what was going on. Hope begged Julie to look after and love Ciara. Julie erupted, telling Bo she knew this was his fault. Hope admitted it was all her fault. Then, she hugged Julie and she and Bo left. Julie stayed with Ciara, who called out for her mommy.
Nicole and Brady arrived at the police station just as Baker was passing through. Nicole pretended she was shocked to see him alive. Roman asked Nicole if she knew Baker. Brady confirmed she did. Nicole continued her shocked act. Brady told her she was overdoing it. Roman asked why Brady brought Nicole to the cop shop. Nicole said Baker being alive changed things. Bo walked in with Hope. Baker turned, saw her, and gasped, "Hope?
Friday
Daniel tried to get into Chloe's cubicle. Carly stopped him. Daniel wanted to apologize to the patient. Carly noted the woman was from the Middle East and couldn't show her face in public. Finally, Daniel relented and took Melanie off to see his burn patient. Chloe thanked Carly for everything she'd done, noting they could all relax if this child turned out to be Daniel's.
Carly went to fetch the doctor, and Chloe's paternity test got underway. Afterwards, Carly told Chloe that Daniel and Melanie were probably gone by now, so she'd be fine. Chloe was anxious for the test results. Carly said she didn't know how she'd face Daniel or Melanie, if Daniel turned out not to be the baby's father and her part in this came out. Sister Anne chatted with Melanie and offered her a job at St. Mary's. Melanie thanked her, but said she wanted to work with her parents. Carly caught up with Melanie, and they left. Chloe prepared to leave, but ran smack into Daniel. She told him she wanted to spend the day with him and tracked him down. Daniel was delighted. Carly and Melanie chatted. Melanie said she was proud Carly was doing volunteer work. "I hope you always feel that way," responded Carly.
Doug arrived at Bo and Hope's house. "Something has happened with Hope," announced Julie, warning it was "very bad." Ciara woke up and asks for her mother. Doug phoned Hope and left her a message to call him. Caroline showed up looking for Bo. She was there to apologize for getting out of line after seeing Bo, Hope and Carly together yesterday. Julie noted Carly had been nothing but trouble since she got to town and that Hope was taking sleeping pills just to get through the night. Caroline and Doug were shocked. Caroline wondered how all of this would affect Ciara. Ciara emerged and asked if her mommy was ever coming back.
"Hope?" blurted Baker, when Bo brought his wife into the cop shop. Baker said he knew detective Brady, but she didn't know him. Hope said she did know Baker. Roman explained Baker was the break in their case. He had video of him buying the stuff to torch Bo's house. He urged Baker to talk. Baker insisted Hope wasn't involved in this. "Yes, I am," countered Hope. Bo stopped her, urging Hope to think before she spoke. She didn't. "I was behind the muggings. I'm the one who who tried to kill Bo," she confessed. Bo thought Baker was Hope's accomplice. Bo, Hope and Roman headed to the interrogation room. Hope swore everything she said was true, and Bo could confirm it. "You are backing up her confession, knowing full well she could be put away for decades?" Roman asked Bo.
Brady walked over to Baker and socked him. A cop pulled him away. Brady demanded to know what Nicole's part in this was. Baker asked Nicole why Brady brought her in. Was she in trouble? "Not unless someone I know decides to be a rat bastard and take me down with him," answered Nicole. Baker wondered if Brady knew that Nicole framed Arianna. Brady emerged and told Nicole they were leaving. Later, at her apartment, Nicole thanked Brady for not mentioning anything to the cops about her bank account. She knew once he cooled down, all would be fine. Brady was cold. He wondered if Nicole blackmailed someone. Nicole professed her love for Brady. Brady pushed Nicole away, calling her a whore for selling her body and her soul. He was done with her scamming him. "You are dead to me," he spat. Brady left. Nicole sobbed.
Bo wanted Hope to get a lawyer. Hope just wanted to confess everything. Roman explained about Baker's part in the baby switch
and how he was going to charge him with everything. Hope didn't have to take the blame. Hope said Bo had proof of everything she'd done and asked him to show Roman the video. Roman watched it. Bo explained about Hope's sleeping pills and their side effects. Finally, Roman shut the video off. He'd heard enough. Hope sobbed and told Roman how sorry she was. Bo insisted he was to blame for everything. "No one is to blame but me," noted Hope, urging Bo and Roman to arrest her. Hope asked for a moment alone with Bo. She begged Bo to do what was right, read her her rights. Bo, begrudgingly proceeded.
