Monday

Nicole was stunned to meet her new pediatrician: Dr. Baker! He explained that they closed the clinic and his job in Detroit fell through. She ordered him to leave town, but he refused. She also refused to give him any money. She asked if he was still gambling. He said he had things under control, for now, adding that he was making a good salary at the hospital. She threatened to go to the hospital board is he even thought of blackmailing her again. Dr. B called her an idiot, noting that he had just as much on her as she did on him. She realized he was right but fired him as Sydney's doctor. He warned her that it wasn't a good idea, noting that it might be problematic if they ever needed a blood sample from Sydney's mother. He brought up Mia, wondering what she would think about the fact that Nicole tossed her baby aside for Sami's. "That's not what happened and you know it," Nicole told him. Still, pointed out Dr. Baker, Mia would not be happy if she ever learned about the baby switch.

Will and Mia looked after Grace. Mia was reluctant to hold the baby. They discussed adopting kids. Mia said what Sami did was "awesome". Will admitted that he had come around and agreed with her. Mia picked up the baby and bonded with her. "I never want to let her go," she smiled. When Grace needed a diaper change, Mia said she'd do it. Her phone rang, though: It was Nicole, who demanded to meet her. Mia told Will she had to go and thanked him for letting her hold the baby.

At the pier, Nicole told Mia that Tony was dead, so one problem was taken care of, but that Dr. B was in town. Nicole pushed Mia to admit that she was back in town to see the baby. Mia said that was partially the reason. Nicole gave her some rules to follow about Sydney and warned her to stick to them. The first was to stay away from Dr. Baker and the second was to never come to the DiMera manse. Nic also told Mia to never come near her and if she didn't like the rules, she could leave Salem. Mia agreed to her terms and announced that she was going to finish high school in Salem.

Stefano went to the Pub and was dismayed to see Philip and Stephanie there. Stephanie approached him and said she was sorry to hear about Tony. She noted that Philip wasn't responsible, but Stefano wasn't so sure. Philip said the person to blame is Stefano. "You killed me son and now you're trying to blame me for it?" Stefano asked. Stephanie chimed in; Stefano told her to keep her mouth shut, which angered Philip. Philip insisted he was sorry for what happened with Tony. After, Philip and Stephanie talked about Victor and how Philip was never good enough for him. Steph assured her boyfriend that he was his own man. He noted that he was unemployed and a failure. She said she thought it was the opposite: Victor had set him free. Philip took Steph to the K manse, which was empty. He left his father a note that he was moving out. They went to Steph's place. She invited him to stay as long as he wanted but he wasn't sure that would be a good idea, in light of the fact that Chelsea was dating Max and it might be awkward. Steph insisted it wouldn't be. She told him to move his things into her bedroom. They kissed.

Sami paid a condolence call to EJ, offering sympathy for Tony's death. EJ opened up about his brother, showing his obvious devastation at the loss. "To know that he's never coming back makes these rooms just seem empty," he said quietly. Sami comforted him and surprised him with the fact that she brought Johnny. EJ had a great visit with his son. Sami told him Johnny could stay the night if EJ wanted. EJ was glad. Sami said that Johnny always talked about his dad and had even adopted some of his British-isms. He noted that Tony's death made him understand why Sami adopted Grace, because he felt an emptiness that she probably felt when she was in witness protection. He told her she was the most wonderful mother he had ever met. She replied that he was a great dad. Seeing how vulnerable he seemed, Sami announced there was something she had to tell him about Grace. Before she could, Stefano hurried in, railing about seeing Philip and saying that PK should be dead. EJ pointed out that Sami was in the room and they should table the conversation. Stefano kept at it, so Sami defended Philip, reminding Stefano that Nicole was the one who cleared him. After, EJ and Sami spoke alone and she got rattled about Grace being in danger because of the DiMeras. She decided Johnny couldn't stay the night, after all. "Women," EJ sighed.

Stefano went to the spot on the pier where Tony died and cried for his late son.

Tuesday

Stephanie and Philip got busy on the couch. Chelsea came in during it and backed right out. She rang the doorbell. Steph opened the door; awkwardness ensued. Steph pulled Chelsea aside and explained that she had invited Phil to stay with them. Chelsea said she was concerned because of Steph and Phil's complicated history. She warned her pal not to rush into anything and left for work. After, Steph and Philip resumed their makeout session. He thought he should go, but she implored him to stay. "You're the man that I love... I want you," she told him. She began to seduce him, but he was distracted by the sight of the cover of the newspaper that had a story about Tony's death. They talked I out; she said she felt like she was with the Philip she fell in love with. "I don't know if that's the real me, but I'm glad you think it is," he replied.

At the cabin, Kate gave Chloe notes about the new Home & Hearth show. Maggie came by with a gift for the new bride. It was a bible, from her and Mickey. Victor called Kate to report that Philip had moved out. Kate wasn't surprised in light of how Vic had treated their son. After they hung up, Kate admired the bible, then discussed the show again. Chloe felt she wasn't up to hosting and tried to talk to her mother-in-law, but Kate rushed off to volunteer at the hospital. Once alone, Chloe told Maggie that she felt that Kate was being fake with her and asked if Maggie had spilled the beans about Daniel. Maggie insisted she had kept mum. When Maggie spied that Chloe was texting with Daniel, Chloe revealed that Daniel was her new doctor. Maggie didn't think it was a good idea. Chloe swore on the bible she and Daniel were over and she just wanted to be a good wife to Lucas.

On the pier, a cop went to take the yellow police tape around Tony's death site down, but Stefano balked. The officer explained the death had been ruled an accident, but the Phoenix argued that Philip had murdered his son — and would pay. Stefano got a call from a mysterious person who revealed that the Kiriakis manse had undergone a security upgrade. The mystery man assured the Phoenix that nothing went on at the K manse that he didn't know about. Victor approached Stefano on the pier, so he hung up. Vic noted that Tony's death was an accident. He blamed himself and Stefano and asked if they could keep the families out of it. Stefano calmly told Victor that he would someday know the grief and rage that Stefano does.

Melanie started working at the hospital and tried to cozy up to hottie Dr. Dan. Maxine, the nurse in charge of her, reprimanded her. After, an attractive doctor named Athena asked Daniel to dinner, but he begged off.... Melanie fought with an angry patient, who responded by throwing kale at her. Chelsea came upon her wasn't thrilled to see that she was employed at University.... Kate ran into Daniel and thanked him for the pills he had prescribed her. He wondered if the time was right for her to volunteer in light of what happened with Philip. She said she was fine. Daniel got paged and left. Chelsea approached her grandmother and reported that Philip was her new roommate. She then asked if Kate was volunteering to be around Daniel. Kate didn't answer her directly, then fantasized about poisoning Chloe and watching her die with Daniel present.

Daniel went to the Brady Pub, saw Chloe and sat down with her. She wasn't sure it was a good idea, then relented. She admitted that she thinks Kate is somehow torturing her. He finally revealed that Kate had confronted him before Chloe and Lucas eloped and asked if something was going on between Daniel and Chloe. He felt that if Kate knew the truth, she would have already done something about it, so Chloe shouldn't be concerned. He changed the subject and told her that Kate had blabbed about Chloe's possible pregnancy. He asked what she would have done if she had actually been pregnant, since the child could have been his. She said Daniel wasn't the guy she talked things over with; Lucas was.... Maggie checked on Melanie, who hadn't yet mastered hospital corners on the bed. After, Kate tripped Melanie, who was carrying a tray of pills. She swiped the key to the medicine cabinet off the tray. Melanie stormed off. Chelsea told Kate who Melanie was.... Kate ran into Stefano and gave her condolences. "Philip is alive. Cherish that, Kate," he said ominously. After, Melanie caught Kate about to break into the cabinet. Kate lied that Melanie left the key in there and handed the key back.

Victor visited Philip at Stephanie's apartment. He apologized to Philip and asked him to come home and back to Titan. He told him about his encounter with Stefano and how it made him appreciate what he had with Philip. He also warned Philip to be careful, whether he came home or not. Philip said he was sorry, too. Victor left. Steph plead with Philip not to return to Victor's clutches.... Stefano made a call on the pier and mentioned Philip's name.

Wednesday

Stephanie implored Philip not to return to work at Titan. He wanted to so Steph dumped him. Again. He pointed out how many times she had broken up with him and noted that it had lost its impact. He went to leave, but not before saying the thought of her out oh his life hurt. She said it hurt her, too. He insisted they could work things out, but she wasn't so sure. She told him to leave. Chelsea came home and found Steph crying on the couch. She told her pal they were through. Chelsea talked it out with her. Chels thought Philip might be trying to protect Steph because he was in danger.

Mia called Will to chat. She wanted to return something to him. She was at the Java Café; he said he would meet her there. Will hung up. Rafe came in and asked where Sami was. Will reported she had gone to see EJ. Will went to watch a movie with Allie, but got bored and came back in the room. He and Rafe had a good chat. Rafe asked if he could hang out until Sami returned. Will said okay and apologized for being a jerk when they had spoken before. Will asked if Rafe was into Sami, but Rafe didn't want to talk about it. Will declared that he was confident that Sami wasn't into Rafe the way he was into her. Will asked Rafe to watch the kids and took off.

Mia ran into Dr. Baker at the Java Café. He asked what happened in Japan. She said she had a chance of plans. She tried to excuse herself from the conversation, but Dr. B wanted to know how she was. He asked her if she had seen her baby since she was back. No, replied Mia, explaining that she wanted to start over. Dr. Baker told her it was a good idea and took off. He passed Will, who asked Mia who that "old guy" was. She lied that her cousin knew him. The conversation turned to Grace. Mia said something about how the baby got to her.

At the mansion, EJ didn't understand why Sami was in such a tizzy. She said she was concerned about Stefano's revenge plans against Philip and the Kiriakis family. EJ insisted he would never let anything happen to her or Johnny. Nicole came home and caught the tail end of their conversation. She came in and asked what was going on. Sami asked Nicole if it bothered her what was going on in the house. Nic had no idea what she was talking about. EJ explained that Sami had overhead Stefano talking about Philip. Nic admitted that yes, she was concerned having her baby grow up chez DiMera. She then asked Sami to bring Johnny to hers and EJ's wedding. Sami was surprised the wedding was still a go in light of Tony's death. The doorbell rang; EJ went to answer it. "Coward," Sami muttered under her breath. EJ returned with a floral arrangement. Nicole excitedly asked if they were for the wedding. "No, they're condolence flowers," EJ said softly, stunned at Nicole's insensitivity. They were from Kate, which angered EJ. He felt that they were a manipulative ploy to get the DiMeras to go easy on Philip. EJ then turned on Nicole for being the one who let Philip go. Sami told Nic that she couldn't break ranks with the DiMeras without paying the price. "You should listen to her," EJ noted. A peeved Nicole stormed out to check on Sydney. Sami left after with her son. Once alone, EJ ripped into Nicole for not telling him that Dr. Baker was Sydney's new doctor and demanded an explanation. They then argued about how she cleared Philip. She said she wouldn't have perjured herself. She accused him of not trusting her. "Bingo," he replied. He told her they should rethink the wedding. She broke down in tears; he softened, then told her they needed to spend time apart. He kissed her and apologized and walked out. She sobbed hysterically.

Sami returned to the townhouse and was happy to see Rafe. He noted that she didn't seem happy. "That house is crazy," Sami sighed of the DiMera manse. Once again, they discussed the pros and cons of telling EJ the truth about the baby.

Stephanie went to the Kiriakis manse and Philip answered the door. She planted a big smooch on him.

Thursday

Chelsea assumed things were back on for Stephanie and Philip. Steph said she didn't have doubts about her beau anymore. They needed each other, but admitted being afraid something terrible was going to happen to Philip courtesy of the DiMeras. Chelsea said focusing on bad things wasn't a way to live. Steph wished there was something she could do to help Philip. Suddenly, she realized there was and left.
EJ visited the spot of Tony's accident and vowed to avenge his death. Max overheard and called him on it, as the pair squabbled. Chelsea interrupted and offered her take: Tony's death was an accident and EJ and Stefano had no right being outraged about it. Besides, Philip had to live with the guilt of what happened for the rest of his life. Outraged, EJ stormed off. Max applauded Chelsea for her feistiness. Later, the duo arrived at her apartment. After a kiss, Max offered to help Chelsea assemble her new bookcase. Chelsea said she wanted to do it on her own, so they resumed kissing.
Chloe admitted to Lucas that she was worried her new talk show gig would take up all her time. Besides, the job wasn't her. Lucas encouraged her to try it. She could always quit if she didn't like it. They shared a kiss, when Daniel walked in. Chloe got a call from Monique, Nicole's wedding planner, and had to run off. It seemed Nicole was worried her big day wasn't going to happen, as she recalled the baby switch, her last spat with EJ, etc. Soon, Chloe arrived. Nicole admitted she might be marrying a man who isn't totally in love with her. "Is this about Sami?" asked Chloe, noting that what she and EJ had was passionate, but wasn't going to last. Chloe insisted love should be stable and safe. Nicole wondered if Chloe had regrets about marrying Lucas. Chloe swore she did the right thing and reassured Nicole that EJ loved her. Then, she left. Steph entered the church. She thanked God for bringing Philip into her life and prayed for his safety. Steph thanked Nicole for standing up for Philip. EJ entered as the two women hugged and seethed. Nicole reminded EJ that Tony's accident wouldn't have happened if he hadn't "gone rogue" and noted how he'd turned against EJ and his father. She was sick of the talk about enemies and revenge on Philip. She asked EJ if there wedding was on or not. EJ noted they'd have to see what tomorrow brought.
Steph walked in on Chelsea and Max making out on the sofa. Steph and Chelsea agreed they had to stop doing this. Chelsea explained she'd interrupted Steph and Philip, earlier. Steph reported she and Philip weren't breaking up, but that he got his job back and was living with Victor. "Are you nuts?" asked Max, noting he overheard EJ talking about revenge. Steph said she couldn't abandon Philip in his hour of need. "You've done it before," retorted Max. Steph reminded Max he broke up with her. Max swore he just wanted Steph to be safe and happy.
Maggie ran into Daniel and went on about admiring him for giving up Chloe. Then, she decided to play matchmaker, noting how there were lots of women looking to date him at the last hospital charity auction, like that lovely physical therapist Irene Ellis. Daniel was uncomfortable, but with Maggie's nudging agreed to think about it. Maggie left to join Lucas. They chatted about EJ and Nicole's wedding and how Lucas wasn't looking forward to it. Lucas mentioned being worried about Philip, since Tony's death. Chloe returned and joined them. Daniel watched Chloe and Lucas plan a wedding party at Chez Rouge. Chloe mentioned being nervous about her TV stint, again. Lucas tried to assuage her fears, when Chloe got a call. Chloe hung up and told Lucas it was agent. She was offered the lead at the Vancouver Opera Company. Lucas hoped she wasn't thinking about taking the gig. Later, at the hospital, Maggie ran into Daniel. Daniel told her he'd be willing to have a drink with Irene. Maggie ran off to arrange things.

Friday

Caroline visited Sami at the townhouse and helped her fold laundry. Sami questioned her grandmother about keeping Bo's paternity a secret. Caroline admitted it was a selfish thing to do. She added that the truth always comes out.

Rafe went to the convent, looking for Sister Theresa, but ran into Sister Agnes and talked to her about Sami. He said he didn't think they were meant for each other; the nun told him that Sami was crazy about him and urged him to fight for her. He went to Sami's townhouse and apologized to her. She hugged him, but said she should apologize to him because she was so conflicted about EJ and telling him the truth about Grace. Rafe said he had been pushy and irrational with her and that she had to do what she felt was right. Rafe then suggested she loved EJ and should get back with him and blow Nicole out of the water. Rafe went to leave, but Sami said she wouldn't let him leave her — and Grace — again.

At the church, Nicole pushed EJ about whether or not they were getting married. EJ said he would see what the next day brought. She refused to let him walk out on her. He declared that he was calling the shots and that Tony's death had made more of an impact on him than she realized. Brady eavesdropped on their conversation. EJ walked out on Nic; she dissolved in tears. Brady revealed himself to her. She confided in him about her argument with EJ and said that she would marry EJ no matter what. Brady tried to make her realize that she sounded nuts and urged her to come clean about everything if she wanted to give her marriage a chance. She said the truth wasn't an option anymore. He promised to protect her. She vowed not to let Sami come between them and get her claws into EJ. She was spinning, so he advised her to go home and chill out. Nicole went home, had a drink and took a nap on the couch. She had a nightmare of her wedding being interrupted by Sami, who knew the truth about Grace. She woke up, startled and went to Sami's. From the hallway, she spotted Rafe and realized he was the cable guy who came to the DiMera manse months earlier.

Brady lit a candle for Isabella and said if she was there, she would know what he should do about Nicole.

Mia literally ran into EJ at the Java Café, spilling her coffee. He got her another one and told her to have a nice day. Mia saw EJ and Nicole's wedding announcement in the paper and realized who she had just met.

Kate texted Chelsea and apologized for running out on her. She sat down outside of the Brady Pub and overheard a woman, Irene, on her cell phone, talking to Maggie about being fixed up with Daniel. When Irene hung up, Kate approached her and warned her about Daniel's "bedside manner" and implied that Daniel had a STD.

Lucas questioned Chloe about whether or not she was going to drop the idea of singing with the Vancouver Opera. A nearby Daniel overheard and came over and congratulated her, which annoyed Lucas. Nevertheless, he invited the doc to sit down and join them. Dan said he had a date, then got paged. Lucas spied his mother and headed out. Irene came in and said hi to Chloe. She told her she had a semi-blind date. Chloe realized it was with Daniel and said Daniel was a really great guy. Irene told Chloe that she heard a rumor that Daniel gets around. Chloe quickly defended Dr. J, but Irene broke her date with Daniel anyway.

Outside, Lucas asked Kate if she was spying on him and Chloe. She insisted she wasn't and was just giving Lucas the private time he wanted with Chloe. She then claimed to be ordering sushi for takeout from a restaurant on Main Street. Lucas apologized. They exchanged "I love yous." Lucas told her about Chloe's offer from the Vancouver Opera. Kate declared that she couldn't take it because of her commitment to Home & Hearth. Lucas felt they could work around it and explained that he just wanted to make his wife happy.
