Monday
Nicole (a.k.a. Mary) talked to Sister Theresa at the convent and gave her Dr. Baker's card. The nun noted that it might help another woman who was in the same situation as Nicole. Nicole made it clear that their chat had to remain strictly confidential. Just then, Sami knocked on the door. A panicked Nicole told the nun that she couldn't be seen there, so Sister Theresa hid her outside of the office. Sami barged in, but found the office empty. Sister Theresa came in and Sami asked who she had been talking to. The nun fibbed (!) that she was praying. Sami explained that she was getting worried that the Sister had been harmed. S. Theresa said she was fine. While Nicole eavesdropped, Sami thanked the nun for agreeing to watch her baby after it was born. Sister Theresa was dismayed that Sami hadn't changed her mind about keeping the baby. Sami said that she never wanted the father of her baby to know about their child. Nicole made a noise; Sami asked what that was. Sister Theresa again fibbed that it was a loud Sister Mary Margaret. Sami noted that the nun seemed stressed out. "Well, I have to admit, all of these lies are beginning to get to me a bit," she explained. Sami asked what lies she was telling. The nun covered that she would lie for Sami if the father of her baby ever came to the convent. Sami assured her he wouldn't. The nun then revealed that she had found a small clinic where Sami could have her baby. Sami was overjoyed, as was Nicole, who was still listening in. The sister sent Sami on her way. Nicole came back in and thanked the nun for all she did. Sister Theresa went to clear the way for Nicole to get out of the convent unnoticed. Nicole called Mia to check in on her. Mia said she was doing okay. After, Mia wrote a letter to her unborn daughter, then wept that she wasn't sure how she could give her up.
Sami prayed for Rafe's safety. She wanted to leave to search for Rafe, but Sister Theresa wouldn't let her. Sami suddenly had labor pains.... Nicole headed to the clinic and told Dr. Baker to expect a nun's call. "What the hell are you up to now?" he queried. Mia called Nicole to tell her she was in labor.
The mayor's killer tormented a tied-up Rafe, demanding to know where Sami was. Rafe wouldn't spill, so the killer prepared to shoot him. Rafe wouldn't back down, so the killer produced a taser that he found of Rafe's and shocked him. Rafe pretended to pass out, then punched the killer and got out of his restraints. A fight ensued, but the killer got the upper hand again and restrained Rafe. The killer found a baby book; Rafe lied that his girlfriend is pregnant — and agreed to talk.
At the Brady Pub, Steve, Kayla, Bo and Hope toasted to John and Marlena's future. Abe came in and asked to speak to Bo. He came down on the commish about how the Salem PD had yet to find the mayor's killer. Lexie and Theo came in and an excited Abe greeted his son. Theo hugged both of his parents, to their delight. Abe then thanked Bo for being instrumental in getting Theo to the hospital in time. Bo said he was happy Theo was okay, then had a disturbing flash of seeing a gun. Hope noted his alarm and asked if he was having visions. Bo said no, then pulled Steve aside and asked for help cracking the Marino case. Steve said he would, but noted that he hit dead ends when he was trying to help John. Bo then admitted to Steve that he had a vision that he worried was about Hope. "Like that woman on MEDIUM?" Steve cracked. Bo insisted it wasn't a joke. "I see this bad stuff," he told Steve, adding that he had seen Theo in two pervious visions. He elaborated that the Hope vision "felt like death." Bo decided to keep Hope away from the investigation into the mayor's killer. Back at the table, Lexie explained that she and Theo were there to get a special dessert she promised he could have once he got out of the hospital. Hope and Kayla wondered what the men were up to. Lexie and Hope planned a playdate for Ciara and Theo.
Kayla and Hope asked Bo and Steve why it took them so long to get the beers. Bo said they were discussing business. Steve assured her they weren't running off to Stockholm and getting into knife fights. Bo then told Hope that he was taking her off the murder case. "Like hell you are," she replied. The Johnsons excused themselves so the Bradys could talk. Hope asked why he was being so protective and asked if he had another vision. Bo changed the subject and suggested having some private romantic time since they had a sitter, so they left.
Tuesday
At the loft, the killer pushed Rafe around, who said he would talk. The
killer asked where Sami was. "Why don't you check under the bed?" Rafe
cheekily replied. The killer announced that it was time to play his trump
card and headed out.
At the convent, Sami began experiencing labor pains. She panicked that Rafe
wouldn't find her when he came back. The nun said they would alert another
nun to tell him. Sister Theresa searched for Dr. Baker's card.
Nicole was at the clinic with Dr. Baker when she got a call from Mia, who
was in labor. Nicole hurried out to get her. Nic arrived at Mia's room, but
the teen's contractions were coming too close and she refused to leave.
Nicole called Doc Baker and told him that Mia's labor was too advanced.
While Dr. Baker was talking to Nicole, he got a call from Sister Theresa,
who explained that she was on her way with a pregnant woman. He went back to
Nicole's call and told her that the nun called and she was bringing in a
woman in labor. "It's happening," Nicole smiled. "It's all coming together."
Mia was freaking out about the labor pain. Nicole said there was no time to
get her to the clinic and vowed to deliver the baby herself. Mia gave birth
to a baby girl. Nicole cried and cooed over the infant while an exhausted
Mia watched them. She didn't want to see her baby.... Sister Theresa arrived
at the clinic with "Colleen." Dr. Baker set her up with a fetal monitor and
noted that the baby was in distress. Sami asked if she would have a
C-section, but the doc said no.
Daniel and Chloe ran into each other outside the Brady Pub. She explained
that she was meeting Lucas. He noted that she hadn't said goodbye to him
when she left his apartment. He asked if Chloe had changed her mind about
them. No, she replied. Kate approached them and sensed something was going
on. Chloe explained that she was telling Daniel about her argument with
Lucas. Chloe asked Kate how she was feeling. Good, Kate responded. She told
Daniel she had stopped by his apartment to talk. Chloe excused herself and
went inside. Once alone, Kate told Daniel that she wanted to talk about
them. She admitted that the way things ended was awkward. He said he
understood. She looked in the window and saw Chloe, Allie and Lucas inside.
She remarked how they seemed like a happy family. She went inside to be with
them. Victor walked over to Daniel, noting that the doc wanted what Lucas
had, a relationship and a family. Daniel admitted he wanted that eventually,
but needed to find the right woman.
Inside the Pub, Chloe joined Lucas, Allie and Johnny. Lucas asked if they
were okay. No, Chloe replied, explaining that she was mad at herself for
overreacting to his reaction to her proposed trip. She apologized. They
worked things out. Kate came in and they all played with the twins and took
photos. The killer lurked and snapped some shots of them on his cell phone,
then took off. While trying to feed Allie mashed potatoes, Lucas and Chloe
engaged in a playful food fight. Kate excused herself, as did Caroline.
Johnny got in the action. Caroline chatted with a surly Victor, who called
Chloe an "ill-mannered pig" for having a food fight in public. A stunned
Caroline pooh-poohed him. He insisted that Lucas and his relationship with
Chloe were doomed. After, Caroline brought him some coffee and pie. He asked
her to sit with him. She said okay, as long as he didn't trash Chloe. He
told Caroline she was too trusting. Back at their table, Lucas and Chloe
laughed that they'd have to leave a big tip. Chloe's cell phone rang; it was
Daniel. She didn't answer it. He left a message that he didn't think things
would work out between them.
Philip approached Stephanie's desk at Titan and told her it was time to
clock out. She said she had a memo to complete. He told her he had a
surprise for her — dinner and drinks in Chicago, and taking the private jet
to get there. She told him he didn't need to try so hard to impress her. He
took it well. She took him to the Cheatin' Heart, noting that it didn't
matter where they were, as long as they were together. Philip didn't love
hanging in a bar where Max worked. Steph said Max had nothing to do with it;
she just wanted to keep it "cas" and drink beer and shoot pool. They had
some flirty banter. She beat him in pool, then went to the ladies' room.
Philip paid the bartender to clear the bar so he could be alone with Steph.
When Steph came out of the bathroom, she was surprised to find herself alone
with Phil. They kissed. Philip's phone rang. It was the office and he had to
hurry off to Titan. He asked her to wait for him. She said she would.
Wednesday
Brady was surprised to see Philip at the office. Brady was dressed casually, then explained to Philip that he had an outing with a client. They discussed Melanie. An angry Philip discovered from a source that EJ was trying to steal the alternative fuel project — and Melanie — from Titan. Philip vowed to stop her. "I made a verbal agreement with one of the shiftiest persons on the planet," he sighed.
An exhilarated Melanie visited Max at the pub and asked what he knew about EJ. Max wondered why she wanted to know about him. She claimed to be networking, then revealed that EJ wanted to fund the fuel project. Max pointed out she already had a deal with Titan. She said it was only a handshake deal with them and planned to engage in a bidding war between the Kiriakises and the DiMeras. He warned her that she was in over her head. She insisted she'd be fine. Philip came in and asked to speak to Mel in private. They sat down and he tried to talk to her about the fuel project, but she claimed she had somewhere to be and rushed off, saying they would talk the next day. Phil sidled up to the bar, where Max warned him to steer clear of his sister. Philip suggested that Max was more annoyed about Phil dating Stephanie. "If this was about Stephanie, I'd let you know. Trust me," Max replied. He then warned Philip that if he messed with Melanie, Max would make sure she took her patent elsewhere. Philip walked off to make a phone call. The bartender gave Max an envelope that had been delivered for him.
Melanie ran into Brady and noted that he seemed lost in thought. He said he was thinking about his father. She apologized for what happened with John, then revealed that she had recently lost her father, too. He gave his condolences. They shared a moment.
Nicole held Mia's baby girl, but Mia didn't want to see the infant. She was freaked out about giving her baby up. Nicole wanted to take Mia to the clinic so Dr. Baker could look her over, but the teen didn't want to go. Mia made Nicole promise that the baby would always be happy. "I can't promise you that," Nic replied, but assured Mia that she will always love the baby. An emotional Mia worried that the baby would never forgive her for giving her up. Nicole said it would be alright. Nic then asked if she was sure she was okay. Mia said she was. "You're gonna be a great mom; I can tell," Mia smiled. Mia fell asleep. Nicole left Mia money, took the baby and left.
At the clinic, Sami's labor advanced. She was concerned, but Sister Theresa assured her the Lord was watching over her. It was a tough delivery, but Sami gave birth to a baby girl. But she wasn't crying.
The killer showed Rafe a snapshot on his cell phone of Sami's twins and restated his intent to kill off Sami's family. Rafe told him he didn't have the guts to do it. Their standoff continued. Rafe looked at a religious medal, which prompted the killer to deduce that Sami was at the convent. Rafe told him he was wrong, but the killer knew he was right. Rafe was able to furtively get himself out of his restraints.
Thursday
Sami gave birth to a baby girl, but Dr. Baker had to take the newborn away for some additional medical assistance. Sami was panicked, so Sister Theresa tried to calm her down. Nicole, who had brought Mia's baby into the clinic, overheard Sami talking to the nun. "I didn't even get to see her. Was she breathing?" Sami cried. An emotional Sami then blamed herself for not getting checkups and going to the doctor like she should have. Nicole went into the clinic's NICU and urged Dr. Baker to save EJ's baby. He ordered her out. She went and prayed — aloud in a public place, where she discussed her miscarriage — for the baby's health. She then heard the infant crying. Nicole went back in, and Dr. B reported that the baby was fine. He added that it was a girl, which thrilled Nicole. The doc wanted to take Sami's baby to her, but Nicole stopped him, saying they had to have a talk first. Nicole revealed Sami's true identity and told him EJ was the father of her baby. She tried to explain the connection between her, Sami and EJ and the convent and the witness protection program. Mia's baby fussed, which drew the doc's attention to her. "Who the hell is this?" he asked. Nicole told him it was Mia's baby. "Of all the clinics in the world, you had to walk into mine," he sighed. Nicole revealed she planned to raise EJ and Sami's baby as her own.
A panicky Sami asked where her baby was. A nurse came in and told her to stay calm. She gave Sami a sedative. Sister Theresa assured her she would check on the newborn.... Rafe and the killer fought at the safe house. Rafe stabbed the killer, who ran out, holding his wound. He went up on the pier and passed out. Rafe, who was also injured, passed out at the safe house.... Sami dreamed of being reunited with Rafe.
At the Brady Pub, Chloe flashed back to her hot sex with Daniel, then listened to his message that said he didn't want to come between her and Lucas. At the apartment house, Kate dropped in on Daniel. He asked if she was jerking his chain by showing up again, adding that he didn't know what else they had to talk about. During their chat, Chloe called, but he didn't pick up the phone. Chloe left him a message saying they needed to talk about "what is going on with us." Maggie, who just walked into the Pub, overheard the message. "Are you having problems with Lucas?" she asked. Chloe talked to Maggie about her issues with Lucas over Sami, but noted that Lucas hadn't done anything wrong, so she felt bad complaining. Maggie could tell something was upsetting Chloe and asked her what it was. Chloe said that she had such a wonderful time the night before at dinner, but when they got home, Nancy (Chloe's mom) called and second-guessed whether marrying Lucas was the right decision. Maggie asked if Nancy was right. Chloe assured Mags that she loved Lucas and was just in a mood. Chloe implored Maggie to keep their conversation private, which Maggie said she would. Maggie also gave her advice, which is that keeping secrets only makes things worse. Chloe said there was something wrong, her. "Yes, right. You're an opera-singing, bone-marrow giving, child friendly beauty. You're totally perfect," Maggie smiled. Chloe said Lucas tells her the same things and that she worried Lucas loved what he thought she was, not the real her. She insisted she wasn't perfect. Maggie told her that's where a leap of faith comes in and that love will grow once they're out of the "pink cloud" of happiness. "Don't borrow trouble, Chloe," she warned.
Back at the apartment, Kate asked Daniel how he felt about their split. He said he accepted it since that's what she wanted. She could tell something was wrong and pushed him to talk about it. He snapped and told her to shut up. He then ordered food for them and apologized to her. She asked what was bothering him. He said that they should simplify their relationship and make it patient/doctor again. Meetings should take place at his office, he added. She teased him that he was kicking her out. He admitted he needed time alone to deal with being dumped. Once alone, she wondered what was going on with him. Kate went to the Pub, where she ran into Chloe. She told her something was wrong with Daniel, but she didn't know what. At his apartment, Daniel drank and listened to Chloe's message. "It's over," he declared. Not so much. Chloe showed up at his door.
Friday
Daniel was surprised to see Chloe at his door, considering he had a left a message for her that they couldn't see each other anymore. She wanted to talk. She admitted that when she heard his message, she was relieved, then wanted to kill him. They talked about their relationship. She was upset that he was pushing her away. He insisted that he didn't want to break up a family and was upset that he had fallen in love with someone's fiancée. Chloe noted that Kate said he seemed alone. He didn't want to talk about Kate. She was outraged that he told her he loved her then dumped her over the phone. She called it cowardly. They wound up kissing passionately and having hot sex.
Hope sat down with Bo who had a flash of a gun and the hospital. She could tell he was alarmed and asked what was up. He played it off. She asked him about his vision; he said he didn't know what it was. Steve arrived and sat down at the table. He told them he thought he had a lead on the mayor's killer and that he could be connected to the DiMeras. Hope called Roman to fill him in. Kayla checked in with Steve. Bo had a flash of his sister getting shot — by Hope. Steve noted his alarm and asked Bo what was up. Bo told him about the vision. Steve said they would keep the women apart. Hope returned. Steve went to leave; Hope said she would go with him. Bo asked where she was headed. "To go see Kay," she told him. He told her it was a bad idea. She asked why. He said he enjoyed Hope's company and didn't want her to leave. Steve interrupted, noting that Kayla was paged to an emergency and wasn't available anyway. Steve left. Hope asked Bo for the real reason he didn't want her to see Kayla. He explained that he wanted to go over the Marino case more. She admitted she was worried about him. "Don't be. I'm good, as long as I got you by my side," he told her.
Maggie was on a cell phone call and walked on the pier. She came across the mayor's killer on the ground. She called an ambulance and he was rushed to the hospital. There, Maggie asked Kayla what happened to him. Kayla told her that it seemed like he was mugged. Kayla got a call from Joe's babysitter, who told her the baby couldn't sleep because he needed his stuffed dog, which was in Kayla's car. Maggie offered to drop it off for her. Kayla thanked her, then went to page Daniel to perform surgery on the John Doe. After, Kayla checked on her patient and thought he looked familiar.
At the clinic, Sami was determined to see her baby. In another room, Nicole held Mia's baby and told Dr. Baker that she wanted to take Sami's baby and give Sami Mia's baby. She said it was fate that they gave birth on the same day. "First time I laid eyes on you, I knew something was off. Now I'm convinced. You're a psychopath," he said. She threatened to turn him in for his black market baby scheme. A standoff ensued. Nicole noted that Sami hadn't even seen her baby yet and wouldn't know the difference if she got Mia's baby. He said she would since she carried her for nine months. Nicole explained that Sami wanted to give up the baby and leave her at the convent. Dr. Baker refused to do it. "It's too damn risky," he explained. Sister Theresa tried to get information about the baby for Sami, but the nurse didn't have any. The nun walked in and asked what was going on. Nic hid behind the door. Dr. Baker said he was working on the baby and ushered Sister T out. Nicole implored him to switch the infants, noting they were both in too deep to turn back. After more back and forth, Dr. B ultimately agreed to allow the switch to happen. An emotional Nicole thanked him. Alone with the baby, she cried that she finally had a daughter.... Sister Theresa returned to Sami and told her what the doc said. It didn't make Sami feel any better. "All we can do now is pray," said the nun. Dr. Baker finally brought Sami "her" baby.... EJ left a message for Nicole, telling her that he was on his way back to Salem.
Daniel and Chloe got dressed and headed out. She forgot her purse, so he told her to lock up once she got it. They kissed in the doorway of his apartment, then Daniel left. Maggie, who was at Steve and Kayla's apartment across the hall, spied the buss. She gave a disapproving look to Chloe, who was shocked to see Lucas's aunt.
