Critical Mass: Days needs to fill up on Philip
You would think having a million dollar smile, big blue eyes, and one of the most handsome faces on daytime would earn Days of Our Lives' Jay Kenneth Johnson a storyline. But you would be wrong.
Despite Johnson's immense talent and charisma, filthy rich war hero, Philip Kiriakis can't even get a date, let alone a story. Since his return in January 2007, Philip's tale has involved chasing after step-daughter Claire and biological son, Tyler. But then he relinquished Claire to her parents, Shawn and Belle, and decided toddler Tyler would be better off in foster care. Huh?
Things appeared to heat up when the scribes exploited the red hot chemistry between Johnson and Martha Madison [ex, Belle] with a steamy afternoon of sex [the hottest such scenes in years]. But then the soap doused that sizzling story by firing Madison, exiling Belle to living boringly ever after with Shawn - at least for now.
Lately, Philip has been tinkering with Kiriakis business and flirting with Chloe and Morgan, but he deserves more. What about an ISA adventure? Or a military story? How about having him conspire with Paul to turn the tables on new adversary John? Or plunge him into a full fledged romance with his returning ex-step-mom, Nicole?
Johnson is a master at portraying spoiled, yet sublimely irresistible, so Days should stop resisting and use him.

I saw the article posted at Daytime Royalty, and I just thought that everyone here might want to read it ,if they don't belong to that forum. Anyway, it was a great article, and I agree with every word. I give SOW all the credit in the world for writing such a wonderful piece!
SOW got this one right. Why the powers that be insisted on the failed Shelle over the chemistry laden Phelle is something I will never understand.
