Hi,

I am from the UK and watch AMC on You Tube and I enjoy it; incidentally, I come from the UK in the North West area of England and I live in a place 15 miles away from Manchester and 15 miles away from Liverpool in the other direction and a writer of AMC, Darran Little originates from Manchester and was the archivist and a writer on Coronation Street in Manchester and he created and produced a spin-off of a soap called Hollyoaks that is based in a place called Chester but really filmed in Liverpool. I have spoken to him on Facebook and My Space and he seems like a decent bloke.

Anyway, I have a question re: character names and it is really quite trivial but just wondered, are the names Kendall and Greenlee (especially Greenlee) common in America? I have heard the name Kendall countless times but it is usually a surname as opposed to a christian name but I have never heard of a lady with Kendall as a christian name or Greenlee either.

Hello jaytee, I am from New England,USA. Welcome! Glad you enjoy AMC. I live in a state that has a Manchester too. It's also is a city that was once a thriving mill town as your own Manchester. Is that correct? Now Manchester's mills have been turned into trendy restaurants and condos. As to the names Kendall and Greenlee. Kendall is not a common name, but there are a of lot young girls with that name. Greenlee is not common at all. The character of Greenlee was named after her maternal grandmother. I believe it was her maiden name.Cara

Hiya Cara,Thanks for your reply.I didnt know there was a Manchester in the states - and its funny that it was a mill town because the Manchester here was a mill town as well.I dont really go there often but your'e right that Manchester - like a lot of places in the UK - has had its industry decline and that there are now loads of restaurants etc... There are a lot of bars and street cafe type places where customers can sit outside with their food/drink.Thanks again for your message and thanks for answering my query re: character names.James
