I began watching GH in the 'Carly & Sonny' era and was not looking forward to The Brenda Show. If TPTB only signed Vanessa for a year, they wasted her time and ours. I know they needed to build a story (one that would get her to agree to come back), but if the ultimate payoff was supposed to be a Brenda/Sonny reunion, that still failed. The writers never gave the audience one moment to ENJOY them as a couple (or get to know WHY Sonny love her above all other). All we saw was exactly the person Jason described. And HELLO??? She went into this relationship (of her dreams) knowing who and what Sonny was, but now (AGAIN) since she can't change him...she's gotta bounce...all for the sake of a child NO ONE cares about due to the casting change and the story. The kid should have been Dante's and, have Luke run Brenda over on his way skipping out on rehab and leave Lulu to pick up all those pieces.
The character of Brenda is STILL to young for Sonny's world. Maybe dressing like a grow-up would help.
I have to say that I agree. I started watching GH after Brenda was gone from the show so I have nothing to compare her return to. If what I saw over the last few months was an indication of what she was like before, then why in God's name would you want her back! All she did was whine and complain about everything. Whenever she's on, especially with Jax, I keep wishing the two of them would fall into a hole and never come back!
Sorry to say; I use to love the Brenda character, but this go around her character has been a big disappointment. I hope whatever the writers decide to do with her character this time it is something that doesn't involve her coming back ever.
I used to like Brenda...with Jax back in the day! Never liked her with Sonny (she can't handle it, too whiny). Perhaps she will take Jax with her!! I should note that I also think Vanessa is a great actress and was great on the show Vegas. I wish her well with her career.
I have read all these post about how whiny Brenda was and etc. I think she played what was written, crap. I gather from watching the show the writers did not like the character at all. Why she ever came back baffles me. The writers have turned Carly into a Saint and Brenda into sometime weak. Several times I wanted Brenda to kick LuLu or Maxie and shut Carly down. If I were VM, I would have left as well. GH will go off the air and she would need to get work anyway, better to leave now. I will miss her BUT she didnt get good writing, GH wasted her time. Good luck VM, they never deserved you.
I can't lie, I'm kinda glad she's leaving. I use to LOVE her character so much. Sonny & Brenda together where the reason I watched General Hospital. I was so excited when I heard she was coming back. But it's been such a disappointment. She's so whiny and annoying now. I can't stand her. I just want her to leave and stop nagging Sonny all the time. I'm confused as to why she was brought back at all. It was a waste of time. I'm glad she's leaving.
So annoyed that she is leaving. Why oh why did she come back just to leave. I can't see her returning again. This is it. For me I am done. I loved Brenda and have always wanted her with Sonny. I guess I got my wish for a while but feel cheated. Wish she hadn't come back...
