Bonnie Franklin Dies

Bonnie franklin jpi

Former sitcom star Bonnie Frankin, who was best known as the spirited Ann Romano in the long-running series, ONE DAY AT A TIME and appeared for a short run as Sister Celeste on Y&R last year, passed away from pancreatic cancer on March 1. She was 69. "I am so saddened by the passing of the wonderful Bonnie Franklin," says Maria Arena Bell (former executive producer/head writer). "Her final role was last summer portraying a strong salt of the earth nun on Y and R. The part was written for Bonnie, to capture the wonderful qualities of a grounded everywoman that she played so well. We will miss her and remember her iconic role in portraying women standing on their own two feet and standing up for themselves."
