Monday
While Katie fretted about Bridget's possible reaction to Nick's confession,
he was preparing to come clean. "Tell me what happened between you and
Katie," a concerned Bridget urged her husband, who explained how Katie had
given up on life on Catalina Island. He admitted that he got "caught up in
the moment" and Bridget started to get the picture. "Did you sleep with
her?" Bridget demanded and Nick said 'yes.' Bridget went — understandably —
ballistic as she blasted him for his betrayal. "I can't believe I've been
so naive!" she ranted. "How you could you do this to us? ... You should've
kept your pants on!" She demanded to know why he was confessing now and he
announced "She's pregnant." Yep, close-up on Bridget's shocked expression.
In Eric's hospital room, Ridge was thrilled to hear that his dad had
momentarily awakened. Stephanie suggested that they bring Eric home so he
could recover in familiar surroundings. Ridge pointed out that they needed
to consult Donna but Steph revealed that she saw Donna in bed with Owen and
wanted "that bitch" far away from Eric.
Despite his luscious kisses, Donna broke away from Owen and said, "I
can't." He asked if she was sure and she reiterated her decision and that
Eric "is the love of my life." They were interrupted by her cell phone
ringing: It was Ridge asking her to come to the hospital right away. Donna
rushed there, where Ridge reminded her that the spring fashion lines were
debuting in Paris and that she needed to be there. Donna was reluctant to
leave, but Ridge convinced her that as CEO, she needed to attend. He also
suggested that she bring Owen and Donna agreed, then headed out. Stephanie
appeared and told Ridge that she made arrangements to have Eric transported
home that night. Ridge was worried when his mother said she would forge
Donna's signature on the release papers.
Tuesday
Bridget was bowled over by Nick's revelation that he impregnated Katie. "Are
you in love with her?" Bridget asked and he assured that he is, "in love with
my wife." Bridget exploded upon learning that Katie is past her first
trimester. "Take me back to the marina ... now!" she demanded. He turned The Shady Marlin around and docked. He tried one last time to convince Bridget
that he loves her, but she insisted, "There is no marriage here. It's been
based on lies for months." She stormed off the boat and warned him to leave
her alone.
Stephanie and Ridge had Eric safely transferred to the Forrester house,
where he was set up in a hospital bed. Rick showed up and was thrilled to
learn that his dad's condition is improving. Rick was troubled that Donna
didn't know about Eric's release,but Stephanie assured that being home is
the best medicine for the patient. Rick summoned Taylor to the house and she
seemed confident that Eric was getting the best care but she and Rick were
both concerned that Donna was being kept out of the loop. Ridge and
Stephanie then revealed that Eric's devoted wife is cheating with Owen. "Now
you can see why we don't give a damn what Donna thinks," Ridge declared and
seemingly convinced Rick and Taylor that he was taking the best approach
with Eric's recovery.
Brooke worried with Bridget what Nick's news will do to Bridget. Brooke went
to the boat and angrily confronted Nick for betraying her daughter. Nick
insisted that he wanted to save his marriage but Brooke didn't think that
would be possible. Meanwhile, a dazed Bridget walked into Brooke's house.
Katie came downstairs and apologized. If looks could kill, Katie's heart
would've stopped beating at that moment! Bridget reamed her aunt for
sleeping with Nick. "You betrayed me!" Bridget yelled.
Wednesday
While Nick tried to explain to Brooke the extenuating circumstances that led
to his one-night stand with Katie, he hoped that he could still save his
marriage. Brooke highly doubted that would happen. "This whole thing is so
complicated," sighed Brooke and Nick asked her not to blame Katie for what
happened.
An exasperated Taylor finally got a fussy Jack to sleep but she lamented to
Rick that she was a lousy mother. Rick assured that Jack was just going
through a phase but she fell apart when her son began bawling again. Rick
offered to take care of the tot and Taylor was amazed that Jack quieted down
so quickly. She shared her observation with Rick that anyone else could
handle Jack except for his own mother. Rick pointed out that Taylor didn't
seem to be experiencing any joy of being a mother to Jack. They were
interrupted when Brooke showed up. Brooke explained that Katie is pregnant
by Nick which upset Rick. Brooke pointed out that she was also worried about
how this will affect Jack since Bridget is like a mother figure to him.
Taylor was overly annoyed by the concern, which surprised Brooke. Jack began
crying and Taylor stalked away to deal with him. Brooke asked Rick what was
going on and Rick alluded to Taylor having a problem with Jack. Taylor
entered the room with a crying Jack in her arms and Brooke asked if she
could hold him. Taylor refused so Brooke reluctantly left.
Bridget continued her rant at Katie. "You're not half the woman I thought
you were," Bridget spat as a shamed Katie urged her niece to forgive Nick.
Katie explained that she didn't expect to live much longer and hoped that
her baby could be raised by both Bridget and Nick. Bridget was incredulous
by the proposal and stated that her marriage is over. Nick showed up and
begged Bridget to forgive him but she refused. She took off her wedding band
and handed it to Katie. "You don't need me," Bridget sneered to Nick as she
stood at the door. "I'm finally free of you."
Thursday
The doctor informed Stephanie that Eric wasn't going to get better. "He's no longer stable," announced the doc. "All his vital signs are slowing down." Steph summoned Ridge, Thorne and Felicia and urged them to make peace with their father. One by one, the kids told an unconscious Eric how much they love him. Then it was Stephanie's turn. "You broke my heart many times," she tenderly whispered. "I forgive you... If you have to go, go peacefully ... Have a safe journey." Ridge, Thorne and Felicia began to leave the room but they were worried about leaving their mother alone.
On the jet heading back to L.A., Owen marveled that the buyers in Paris treated Donna like the wife "of a head of state." She was surprised she wasn't vilified because she wasn't Stephanie. Donna shared her annoyance that people were talking about Eric as if he is already dead. Owen advised Donna to accept the possibility that Eric could die but she refused to think that way. After they finally landed, Donna and Owen headed to the Forrester mansion. When they entered, Owen insisted that he was moving into a guest room so he could protect Donna from Pamela, who was still on the loose.
Upstairs, Ridge, Thorne and Felicia watched as Stephanie tearfully washed Eric's feet and recounted happy memories together. Eric suddenly moved his foot which startled Stephanie but she assumed it was just a reflex. Everyone was shocked when Eric suddenly woke up. "Home," he gasped as his loved ones rejoiced.
Friday
Eric's loved ones were overjoyed that he was awake and placed him in his
wheelchair. Eric was coherent and could understand them, but he had trouble
speaking. Everyone was disappointed when he asked for Donna, but Ridge
explained she was out of town "on Forrester business." Stephanie, Ridge and
Thorne went downstairs to call Eric's doctor. Meanwhile, Eric started to nod
off and Felicia freaked that he was slipping back into a coma. He told
her not to be afraid.
Down the hall, Donna helped Owen get settled into his room. She wanted to
head to the hospital but Owen pointed out that she didn't have to keep
proving her devotion to Eric. Donna finally admitted that Eric wasn't coming
back to her and that she is once again all alone. "You'll never have to be,"
Owen promised.
Taylor and Rick couldn't appease a cranky Jack. Brooke showed up and a
peeved Taylor took Jack out of the room. Brooke asked Rick why the baby is
always crying whenever she shows up and Rick admitted that Taylor was having
trouble bonding with the babe. Brooke went upstairs and found a frustrated
Taylor trying to cajole Jack. "I just wanted to say good night," Brooke said
and asked to hold Jack, who she thought had a familiar smell. Taylor handed him over and was amazed when he not only stopped crying, but quieted down when Brooke put him to bed. Brooke offered Taylor any help she needed and left. Depressed, Taylor gazed at Jack
and asked, "What is so broken in me?"
While he was alone in his room, Eric wheeled over to his bedroom window and
could hear Donna's voice. He drove down the hall and entered another
bedroom, where he saw Donna and Owen smooching. Eric started
hyperventilating and Donna was shocked, then happy, to see Eric. The rest of
the family rushed in and Felicia pushed Donna away. "Out!" Eric screamed.
Donna tried to explain how much she loves him, but Eric became agitated.
Stephanie ordered Donna to leave before Eric got too upset. Donna ran out in
tears as Stephanie calmed Eric down.
