Monday
Donna confirmed to Marcus that Justin is indeed his father. Marcus was stunned, as was Justin. The two men just stared at each other. Donna explained that she had never told Justin all those years ago when she
learned she was pregnant.
Justin was understanding and acknowledged that Donna had made a sacrifice
for both of them. Donna begged her son to tell them how he was feeling. Justin started to sob when he explained that learning he had a son was "the greatest gift imaginable," adding that Marcus was an incredible young man, and he understood why Eric would want to adopt him. "Eric has been very
good to me," Marcus said, and pointed out that he and Justin were complete
strangers. Justin made it clear that he wanted to get to know his son.
"You'll stick around if I ask?" Marcus asked. "Are you asking?" Justin
replied. "I think I am," Marcus replied. Justin gave his son a big hug as
tears streamed down Donna's face.
Pam and Stephanie discussed her recent episode in the hospital. Pam wanted
her sister to take it easy but Stephanie insisted on going into a work
meeting. Pam helped Stephanie read the paperwork. Stephanie seemed to have a
hard time focusing on the flow of the meeting, and seemed disoriented
and odd to the rest of the team. She reminded them that she had
started Forrester. Everyone assured Stephanie that she was very much
appreciated, but Stephanie rambled on about how she was Jackie M
Designs. "So much for team spirit," Whip said as he left the room. "How
could you say those things, Stephanie?" Bridget asked as she left the room.
"Why did I do that?" Stephanie wondered to Pam. "It was so stupid." Pam
shared Stephanie's concern about her bizarre behavior.
After Katie spotted the bulletin board in Bill's office of the hierarchy at
Forrester Creations, Bill admitted that he's still interested in taking over
Forrester. Katie thought he had moved away from this goal. "I never told you
I didn't want Forrester. It's the reason I moved here from New York," he
admitted. Bill added that things had changed since he met Katie. He wanted
to put her at the top of Forrester. And everyone would
stay at Forrester, he assured Katie. Ridge and Eric were world class
designers, he acknowledged, but "businessmen they ain't." Bill told Katie that she has what it
takes to lead that company, and offered to help her develop a more
aggressive business style. Katie worried people would laugh at her. Bill
thought that was ridiculous and the two started kissing. "You kiss like a
CEO," Bill told her with a smile.
Tuesday
Brooke dropped by Ridge's office for a little lunch time snuggling, and then Michael the banker called, noting Forrester's loan payment was due. Ridge assured him that the messenger would arrive with their check. Afterwards, Katie walked in to tell them of Bill's interest in taking over the company. At Spencer Publications, Bill and Justin were anticipating the deal and they made small talk about Justin discovering he's Marcus' father. Justin was looking forward to staying in town and getting to know his son but was concerned about Eric and the adoption. Back at Forrester, Katie pointed out the advantages to Bill buying the company. "This is ridiculous!" gasped Brooke, while Ridge added, "Forrester Creations is not for sale!" Michael from the bank then met with Bill and Justin. Bill pointed out that if he hadn't gotten the loan payment by noon, the Forresters were defaulting and the bank had to foreclose. Michael was appalled but Bill made a compelling case...and then handed over papers he'd already drawn up to buy the company from the bank. "Give me the pen," Michael sighed. Katie explained to Ridge that Bill wanted to bail them out and keep the company as is. Brooke then wondered who Bill would put in charge: "You? His girlfriend?" she guffawed. Later, Katie returned to Spencer Publications just as Michael and Justin
left. She admitted she'd run the proposal by Ridge and Brooke, who'd refused to sell, and then told Bill how her sister and bro-in-law had laughed at her. "Join forces with me," he urged, showing her the bank papers. All he had to was sign and, "Forrester Creations is ours." Katie begged him not to sign.
Marcus admitted to Donna that he's glad Justin has come into his life, and the two of them hugged. But now they had to figure out what to tell Eric! On cue, Eric walked in with the adoption paperwork. Marcus wasted no time being honest, saying his bio dad had surfaced in his life. Donna explained about Justin's sudden arrival in LA and apologized for the timing. Eric reacted well, asking for details on Marcus' bio dad. "He's a kind and decent man," Donna said of Justin. Eric was fine with Marcus getting to know Justin, but what did that mean for the adoption? Marcus assured Eric that no man has been there for him the way he has and that he still wants to be a family with Eric and Donna. Eric and Marcus then went ahead and signed the papers, making Marcus an official Forrester.
Wednesday
Katie and Bill squabbled in his office over whether his takeover of Forrester Creations was fair. "Eric has lost his mojo," Bill pointed out. Bill attempted to convince Katie that he could bring Forrester back to what it once was. "This ISN'T going to happen!" Katie announced. Bill disagreed, saying that Forrester was going down one way or the other, and that if she didn't want to be a part of it, he would find someone else to be CEO. Katie responded with an ultimatum: if he took over Forrester, their relationship was over. Bill ignored the ultimatum. Instead he took her into his arms and made an impassioned plea. "We can make Forrester hot again. Are you with me?" He told Katie that she was smarter than Brooke, sexier than Donna, and was the "toughest chick in the room." He asked her to accept him just the way he was, ruthless businessman and all. He let it slip that he loved her, and she stopped him in his tracks. She agreed to his Forrester proposal, and they began kissing heavily. "Forrester Creations is ours!" Bill whispered triumphantly, and signed the takeover documents.
In the hallway, Jarrett encountered Justin, and informed him that Bill's taking over Forrester was a bad idea. "No one has ever succeeded at Forrester except the Forresters!" he exclaimed. Justin replied that Bill was an excellent businessman and that the takeover was good business.
Justin entered Bill's office and the two gleefully discussed the fact that Forrester would soon find out that they had been taken over by Spencer. Bill reiterated that it was a good move for everyone. "Forrester needs cash, I've got it ... and now I've got them," Bill said.
In Ridge's office, he and Brooke playfully mixed business with pleasure. Between kisses, they recalled their "glory days" at Forrester, when Brooke developed the BeLieF formula. "We can recapture those days, Logan," Ridge said. "As long as we can keep Bill Spencer away," mused Brooke. Rick entered, and they all gushed about how happy they were now that Ridge and Rick were getting along.
In Eric's office, all the Forresters gathered together to welcome Marcus to the family. After everyone left, Eric took Ridge aside and assured him that Marcus' adoption didn't change their special relationship; he would always depend on Ridge to run Forrester side-by-side with him. Later, a delivery person entered with the return receipt for the loan payment to the bank. Thorne noted that the delivery time on the receipt was after the noon deadline. Ridge called the bank representative to follow up, but he was unavailable. Ridge and Thorne became nervous.
Katie burst in on Brooke and Donna and announced that Bill Spencer had acquired Forrester Creations. As their jaws dropped, Katie explained that with Spencer Publications' influx of capital, Forrester would finally be able to return to its former glory. Brooke and Donna remained stunned.
Thursday
Brooke and Donna tried to talk sense into Katie, who insisted the process for Bill buying Forrester was already in motion and there was no stopping it. At Spencer Publications, Michael the banker and Bill talked details. Michael didn't like sticking a knife in Eric's back. Nobody likes being the bad guy, noted Bill. "That's why God made me." Back at Forrester, Eric praised Ridge for sticking with the company when everyone else had jumped ship and noted the transition to Ridge taking over for him had begun. Meanwhile, Katie explained to Brooke and Donna that the bank had foreclosed on Forrester and then they leapt on her mentioning Bill loves her. "It's obvious...Bill Spencer is using you," insisted Brooke. Brooke and Donna wondered what to tell their husbands about the shocking goings-on. Down the hall, Ridge promised not to let Eric down. They had a wonderful father-son moment and hugged. Katie returned to Spencer Publications, noting everyone at Forrester hates Bill's guts and that her sisters think she's his patsy. Bill chuckled that her sisters love her but don't have enough respect for her. He said that if he's ever going to use her, he'll tell her up front! "I may be underhanded, but I'm not ashamed of it," he grinned, before kissing her. Back at Forrester, Eric was plotting a vacation to the Italian Alps and Donna broached the delicate subject of Forrester's foreclosure. Down the hall, Brooke walked in to Ridge's office. He waxed about taking over the company from Eric and Brooke was forced to lower the boom about Bill.
At Jackie M, Steffy overheard an awkward conversation where Owen mistook Jackie's manicurist for a business appointment. Later, she questioned Owen about his marital issues...and Jackie caught the tail end of it. When Owen left the room, Jackie called Steffy out on interfering in her marriage. Jackie noted what a charmed life Steffy had lived so far, telling her to give it a few years. She surmised that Steffy has a crush on her hubby and Steffy insisted, "I am not a homewrecker." But she did wonder if Jackie was what was best for Owen.
Friday
Ridge raged to Brooke about how Bill had swooped in when their payment had only been 39 minutes late. He stalked into Eric's office, where Eric revealed he'd already called their attorney, Gloria. Gloria revealed that Bill had already wired the funds to buy the company. Ridge swore they'd fight him! At Spencer Publications, Katie wondered if she had indeed
betrayed her sisters and their husbands. Bill insisted he wasn't some svengali: "I can't con you." Katie assured him she thinks her sisters are wrong, and they kissed. Back at Forrester, Michael the banker showed up to outline things to Eric and Ridge. "My hands are tied!" he said. Ridge remained determined to get the company back. As they waited for Michael to try a last ditch move to save them, Bill and Katie arrived. Bill explained to Ridge and Eric the advantages of becoming part of the Spencer empire. He'd even keep everything as is...except for one key staffing change, a new CEO: Katie! Everyone, Katie included, was stunned. Bill noted Katie had done a masterful job at PR and had "vision." She thanked him for his confidence. When her family looked at her for her answer, Katie defended her desire to see the company succeed with Bill — and herself — at the helm. "Just say no," begged Brooke. Katie begged her, and the others, to let Bill buy the company. And as the CEO, she'd make sure nothing changed around here. Brooke was horrified, asking, "What is that man doing to you?"
Steffy scoffed at Jackie's accusation, noting that she made her sound like a 13 year old crushing on a Jonas brother. Jackie countered by pointing out she knows how women look at her husband. She urged Steffy to stop wasting her time. Steffy said Owen was her friend and Jackie wondered if she wanted him to be more. On cue, Owen walked in! Jackie pointedly left Steffy and Owen to talk. "Is this marriage going to give you everything you need?" Steffy asked Owen, as Jackie eavesdropped. When Owen chuckled at her directness, she admitted her mom being a shrink had sort of rubbed off. She told him he deserved to be in a fulfilling, equal relationship and she didn't think Jackie could give that to him. Then, she stared at his lips. On her way to the elevator, Steffy ran smack into Jackie. Jackie reiterated her warnings about Steffy's interest in her hubby.
