B&B Week of September 24, 2007 Recaps
Monday
"I shouldn't have kissed you," Eric declared to Donna, but she wasn't as
concerned about the ramifications of their smooch. They heard a car pull up
and Donna wondered if it could be Stephanie coming home to face the music.
Ms. Logan trotted off and Felicia showed up to announce that she's going to
Seattle to meet up with Constantine, who was on a concert tour. Eric gladly
offered to watch his grandson and Felicia asked where her mother could be.
Eric said he had no idea and was "very disillusioned" about his marriage.
Felicia reminded Pop that he and Stephanie always made up before and
cautioned him not to make "any hasty decisions."
Rick returned to the lab and reminded Ashley that Brooke will always be in
Ridge's life. An exasperated Ash wanted to ignore his warnings but decided
to follow up with a visit to Ridge and headed out.
As Donna tried to sneak through the Forrester living room, she encountered a
messenger at the front door. She forged Felicia's signature and accepted a
letter from Stephanie. Donna thought about throwing the letter into the
burning fireplace, but she waited for Eric to show and gave it to him. Donna
was surprised when he wasn't interested in reading it and the air was
suddenly charged with sexual tension. "Do you want me to go?" she asked.
Eric said no and they began kissing passionately.
Ridge greeted Brooke as she showed up at his house for dinner. They sat down
and Ridge announced their evening was about "our son and our future." Brooke
asked for a second chance and promised "you won't regret it." Ridge worried
about having the rug pulled out from under his world again — Brooke
assured that if they reconciled, they would be stronger than ever. Before
Ridge could respond, the caterer appeared and asked for his assistance in
the kitchen. After Ridge left the room, his cell phone went off and Brooke
saw that it was Ashley calling. Brooke then noticed a jewelry box and opened
it to find a diamond engagement ring. She excitedly slipped it on, just as
Ridge returned. "It's so beautiful, I love it!" she exclaimed and threw her
arms around a stunned Ridge. Ashley walked in mid-clench and spotted the
ring on Brooke. "Oh, my god," she gasped, "You're engaged?"
Tuesday
Ashley, I can explain," Ridge said and then informed Brooke that the ring
wasn't meant for her — he had planned on asking Ashley to be his wife.
"You
can't do this!" wailed Brooke. Ridge asked Ashley if he could have some
privacy with Brooke and Ms. Abbott quickly left the room. Brooke refused to
believe that Ridge loved Ashley more than her. Ridge reminded Brooke that
she dumped him for Nick and he hasn't been over to get over that. "You
and I are just not meant to be," he lamented. Brooke insisted that she
didn't have a connection to Nick anymore.
While cooling her heels outside, Ashley got a call from Rick. She happily
announced that Ridge wanted to marry her, but he was explaining that to
Brooke. She crept back into the house to hear Ridge proclaim that "Ashley is
my future." Brooke tearfully removed the ring and gave it back to Ridge.
After she left, Ashley emerged, then wrapped her arms around Ridge. He was
depressed that Brooke had gotten the wrong idea but he got down on bended
knee. "Would you do me the great honor of becoming my wife?" he asked and
slipped the ring on her finger.
Thorne told Katie that he was glad that he and Donna were able to "clear the
air." He then showed her an old photo he found of them at Ridge and Brooke's
first wedding. Katie was horrified by her complexion back then, while Thorne
made fun of his hair. Thorne asked if she wanted to go sometime to a dance
club that played hits from the '90s and she said that could be fun. After
Thorne left, a devastated Brooke came home and explained to Katie that Ridge
was going to propose to Ashley.
Eric and Donna were making out but he suddenly pulled away. "Maybe you
should go home," Eric said. "I don't want to take advantage." Donna assured
that wouldn't be the case, but Eric still urged her to go home. She
reluctantly stood at the door to leave, but watched a conflicted
Eric in the living room. He later went upstairs to find Donna waiting in his
bed. He showed his wedding band for a reason not to go any farther; Donna
shot back that he didn't owe Stephanie anything. "Do what feels right," she
suggested and they returned to kissing.
Wednesday
Nick walked into his office to find Brooke hard at work. He could tell
something was weighing on her and asked "what's going on?" Brooke revealed
that Ridge and Ashley were engaged "I was completely blindsided," she
groaned. Nick advised Brooke to move on with her life; she maintained
that Ridge was still in love with her and she wasn't giving up. Nick wanted
to know why, and Brooke explained that she and Ridge have a son together. "I
can't stand the thought of another woman mothering my child," declared
Brooke, which made Nick squirm.
In the lab, Ashley admired her engagement ring. Ridge walked in and they
started making out. Ridge revealed that he shared their good news with
Phoebe and wanted to do the same with Hope and R.J. Ashley suggested that he
do that with Brooke. After Ridge left, Rick showed up and saw Ashley's ring.
She then ordered him not to flirt and be playful with her any longer.
"You're very sexy when you lay down the law," snickered Rick but they soon
start arguing about the Brooke factor. Ash was confident in Ridge's love but
Rick pointed out that they're not married yet. After Rick departed, Brooke
came into the lab looking for Ridge. Ashley apologized for last night's
misunderstanding but Brooke stubbornly claimed that Ridge still loves her.
Ash had to bluntly announce that Brooke and Ridge's relationship was
officially over now that he's marrying someone else. "He always comes back
to me," warned Brooke and stormed out.
Phoebe told Taylor about her father's engagement. Mom asked if Phoebe was
okay with it and she said she was but pointed out that Brooke must be very
unhappy over this latest development. Ridge showed up and Phoebe went on her
way. Taylor offered her congratulations and added, "I think your taste in
women is definitely improving." Ridge conceded that Brooke was going to have
a "difficult time" coping and hoped she wouldn't interfere in Nick's life.
Taylor said she was very secure in her marriage.
Thursday
Brooke suggested that Nick cancel the upcoming showing since the collection
is mediocre at best. Jackie agreed that their designs are weak and they
wouldn't be able to compete with Eric on the runway. Clarke took exception
to everyone dissing his talent, but Jackie suggested that they revive
Brooke's Bedroom because of Brooke's "world famous sex appeal." As Jackie
blathered on with all the reasons they need Brooke's Bedroom, Brooke became
uncomfortable. "You should be out front and center," Jackie cheered but Nick
jumped in and said no. Brooke asked for a few moments with Nick, and after
Jackie and Clarke left the room, she assured that she could handle being the
spokesperson for her line again. Nick still refused. Brooke insisted that
this would be a way for her to heal. "I need to do this," she
affirmed.
Ridge informed Ashley that his mother isn't welcome in his office anymore.
Ashley assumed it was because Stephanie pushed so hard for Ridge to get
permanent custody of Brooke's kids. Felicia, Phoebe, Thorne and Rick arrived
at Ridge's behest and Ashley announced that they were engaged. Everyone
(except Rick) was thrilled and Thorne assumed Stephanie was on the rooftop
"with a bullhorn" extolling the news. Ridge shared that their mother was
currently out of town.
Donna was surprised to receive a delivery of roses from Eric. He showed up
and playfully complained that Donna hasn't returned any of his phone calls.
She explained it was because she knew what he was going to say. After
their bedroom romp, he most likely believed Stephanie's opinion about Donna.
Eric quickly pointed out that she underestimated him and that she was "an
extraordinary woman." Eric asked her out to dinner that night and Donna
eagerly accepted. She then realized that she forgot about Jackie's emergency
meeting, which tipped off Eric that all was not well at Forrester Creations.
Donna coyly slipped that if his designs were as good as she had been hearing
about, then Forrester Creations could be "on the ropes."
Friday
Backstage at the Forrester Creations fashion show, Nick asked Brooke if she
was truly ready to model for Brooke's Bedroom. Brooke assured she was. "It's
up to Brooke to get out there and sell it," said an excited Jackie. The
fashion show began, but the audience wasn't receptive to the designs. Nick
and Jackie started to fret for the future of the company if this show bombs.
Brooke came out of her dressing room in a robe, looking self-conscious.
Donna hurried by and asked, "Sweetie, are you okay?" Brooke jutted out her
jaw and declared yes. After Donna ran off, Brooke began to hear Andy's lewd
voice in her ears. Brooke started to crumble but tried to regain her
composure by telling herself that she was ready for this.
Ridge and Ashley were kissing in his office when Katie showed up, anxious to
talk to him. Ashley left for a meeting but smooched Ridge again for Katie's
benefit. Katie tipped off Ridge that Brooke was about to model lingerie at
Nick's fashion show. "This is completely insane," Ridge huffed and charged
over to Forrester Creations. Ridge angrily confronted Nick, who countered
that he wouldn't put Brooke through this if she hadn't said she was ready.
Ridge was surprised when Nick revealed that he knew about the rape. Brooke
approached and asked to have a moment with Ridge. After Nick left, Brooke
tried to assuage Ridge's concerns. "I need to get Brooke Logan back," she
explained. "I can handle this." Ridge reluctantly agreed and Brooke bussed
him on the cheek.
When Ashley couldn't find Ridge in the office, she accused Katie of being
part of her sister's campaign to win him back. Ashley refused to be
intimidate, but Ashley warned her to convince Brooke to back off.
From the backstage, Brooke anxiously looked out into the audience. She was
horrified when she thought she saw "The one, the only, Brooke Logan,"
Jackie announced from the stag, but Brooke bolted and locked herself in
Nick's office. Everyone was worried when they couldn't find Brooke, who was
having a panic attack and tearing the room apart. Ridge found her and Brooke
wailed that she hated what his mother and Andy have done to her. She started
screaming as she ripped off her lingerie and fell to the floor sobbing.
Ridge covered her with an afghan and tried to comfort her.
