Bold and Beautiful Recaps
B&B Week of Sept. 13, 2010
Monday
Jackie noted that Rick has "got a little bit of the devil in you." Rick
insisted he was just urging Jackie to keep her options open and waxed poetic about Jackie's various charms. A skeptical Jackie told him to give up the seduction routine, seeing right through his game. Up in Bridget's apartment, Owen stressed that they needed to keep their family a priority...complete with surfing metaphors. "I love Jackie, and I know you do, too...neither of us would want to do anything to hurt her," he reminded Bridget. Bridget admitted that the emotion she was feeling was "so much bigger" than anything she'd ever felt. Owen agreed, that being a father and co-parenting with Bridget was "new and awesome." But they couldn't give in to these feelings coursing between them! They then came downstairs with the baby, surprised to see Rick there. As baby Logan woke up and made his own opinions known, Owen wanted to take the tyke upstairs for his first diaper change. Bridget went up to supervise, and they bonded all over again. "I told you so," Rick pointedly told Jackie. Jackie insisted she wants Owen and Bridget to enjoy parenting together. Rick wanted that, too! And he also wanted to give Jackie the experiences she would enjoy. Upstairs, Bridget was just beaming about motherhood. "I don't regret a single moment of any of it," she said. Downstairs, Rick told Jackie that she wasn't "Mr. Cowabunga's" priority anymore, saying that she needed a man completely devoted to her. As he planted another kiss on Jackie...Bridget walked in!
Over at Brooke and Ridge's, Amber paid her ex-mother-in-law a visit, to ask if Rick was available! Brooke found this mind-boggling. Amber noted Brooke was the one other person who needed a second chance as much as she did, and asked Brooke to help her get reacquainted with her old flame. Brooke didn't think it was a good idea.
Tuesday
Bridget spied Rick and Jackie kissing, and her jaw hit the floor! Jackie chided Rick for the smooch, wondering what his point was. As Bridget listened, she reminded him that she's happily married. Owen, meanwhile, saw Rick and Jackie's close confines from above. He came downstairs with the baby and Bridget came in, too. Awkward undercurrents played during the scene, as Jackie praised the "special bond" that Owen and Bridget and the baby would have and Owen kissed her...with a smug Rick looking on. Bridget asked Rick to join her upstairs so Owen and Jackie could have some alone time. Alone with her hubby, Jackie dismissed the Rick issue...but noted a more pressing matter: Bridget's feelings. Jackie assured Owen she's not threatened by their connection, just concerned. She was convinced that Owen sharing his child with her would make their marriage stronger. Upstairs, Bridget asked Rick what he was up to and he made excuses. Brother and sister went a few rounds, as Rick said he was just trying to help Bridget out, while also spending time with an intriguing woman. Bridget wanted him to stay out of it. Then, Logan's pediatrician called to move up an appointment, cutting their chat short. Downstairs, Owen admitted to Jackie that Bridget's having a lot of conflicted emotions and has confessed to feelings for him. "But Jackie, you are my wife," he assured, kissing her passionately. Bridget then came over with Logan, saying she was taking the baby to the doctor. Owen instantly rushed out the door with them. Later, Jackie got a note touting a delivery waiting on the roof. It was Rick, surprising her with champagne and caviar. "I am blissfully in love with my husband, but I never let good caviar go to waste!" Jackie chuckled. Rick noted that Owen couldn't understand the finer things in life. "Why not let life show us the possibilities?" he posed.
At Brooke and Ridge's, Brooke raved about baby Logan and Ridge sensed that she had some concerns. When he wondered if they were about being a grandmother, Brooke said no; she was worried by Bridget's feelings for Owen. Ridge and Brooke reminisced about delivering Bridget at Big Bear, complete with a flashback. Given the deep emotions of that kind of scenario, Brooke was really afraid her daughter would get hurt. Ridge suggested they ask
Bridget to move in with them. Brooke noted it was better for Bridget to be near the baby's father, but she was still worried that this would all lead to a showdown with Jackie. "All you can do is be there for your daughter," shrugged Ridge, before dubbing Brooke "the hottest grandma I've ever seen." All the grandma talk made Brooke hearken back to Amber's visit (presumably because of Little Eric). She related Amber's interest in Rick to Ridge.
Wednesday
Rick assured Jackie that he was serious with his pitch. He saw them as having "unbridled potential." She said she was a damn good "salesman" and remarked on how he's more Forrester than Logan. Elsewhere, Bridget and Owen's pediatrician (THE BRADY BUNCH's Christopher Knight) checked out little Logan and the parents bonded over the experience. Back on the roof,
Rick noted three people in a marriage was crowded and stressed that he just wanted Jackie to have another option. Jackie insisted the current arrangement worked for her just fine. "He's not a good match for you," Rick claimed of Owen. "That's really my decision," countered Jackie. Rick kept at it! Then, Bridget called Rick so they could finish their conversation once the doctor's appointment was over, but Rick wanted her to "stall." Bridget was horrified, wanting him to knock off the scheming. Then, Jackie and Rick wrapped up their rooftop rendezvous, with Rick chuckling ruefully.
Hope sat down with Liam at Insomnia and, after some banter, asked if he wanted to find out if there was some good in Bill. After all, her aunt Katie wouldn't have married Bill if there weren't. Over at Spencer Publications, Katie dubbed a photo of Bill's father "creepy," and Bill shared that he'd rather be a rotting corpse than wake up and see his father looking back at him in the mirror. Katie broached the subject of Liam, and met with resistance. "He hid behind his mother," insisted Bill, noting he'd never hidden from his father. At Insomnia, Hope kept working on Liam, noting that Bill needed to take responsibility for the Brooke/Oliver drama instead of letting Liam take all the heat. When Liam changed the subject to Oliver, Hope deflected. And she was reluctant to define her and Liam's relationship! At Spencer, Katie talked about how Bill had been cheated out of a life with his son but he had a chance to make up for it now. "Are you going to be the bigger man and turn the other cheek?" she asked. Katie then made Bill call Liam and ask for another chance to work things out. It didn't go well. Liam hung up and Bill threw the phone across the room. Later, both men were doing a lot of thinking and decided to compose letters to each other on their respective laptops. Their subtle mannerisms echoed each other, and the in-progress missives were hilariously snarky...until they got surprisingly poignant. Meanwhile, Katie and Hope commiserated at Insomnia. "We are Logan women, Hope. We don't give up on family," Katie declared.
Thursday
Katie called Hope, and the two of them discussed Bill and Liam's rift. Katie suggested they get the guys together at Brooke's house and then teased her niece about her relationship with Liam. As for Oliver? Well, Hope asked him to meet her, so they could talk. As Katie told Bill she had a surprise for him, Hope invited a wary Liam to her parents' house. After she got off the phone, she welcomed Oliver. Over at Brooke's, Steffy, Katie, Bill and a newly arrived Liam made for an awkward convergence! Steffy was boggled to hear that Liam is Bill's son, and Katie suggested she make herself scarce. Steffy wanted to keep her front row seat. Meanwhile, Liam didn't want to "hug it out" with Bill just because Katie and Hope wanted them to. As for Bill, he offered up a very sincere "I'm sorry." Liam asked him to repeat himself, making him work for it. Back at Forrester, Hope admitted to Oliver that she and Liam are growing closer. "I thought we were okay," boggled Oliver. "I thought you believed in me again." "I will always love you," she assured, in that "I'm giving you the brush-off" sort of way. She confessed that she can't ever wear her hope necklace again. "In my heart, you're still my girlfriend. Am I wrong?" he asked, wondering if he should take his own necklace off.
At Brooke's, Bill pointed out how Kelly had kept Liam from him, and then Katie urged him to tell Liam about the time he spent with Kelly. Bill said they'd had a very special relationship and talked about the night they'd conceived Liam. "I was totally captivated by her," he admitted. Liam brought up how callous Bill had been about his mother's death. "I attack," acknowledged Bill. "I don't do vulnerable, I don't do feelings." He said he didn't even know how to cry and said he was wrong for pushing Liam away. "Sounds like your dad really messed you up," observed Liam. Bill countered that if he messed up with his own kid, that was all on him, and apologizedfor the cruel things he'd said to Liam. He wanted to try being a good father, if Liam would let him.
Friday
At Brooke's house, Bill asked Liam if he would give him another chance. Meanwhile, at Forrester, Hope and Oliver continued to talk about their fractured relationship and Hope's connection with Liam. "If you need to take a break from us, then wearing this doesn't make sense anymore," said Oliver, as he took off his necklace. Oliver wondered if she and Liam had kissed yet,
and Hope admitted she cares for Liam a lot. Oliver agreed to give her space, kissing her forehead and promising he'd never stop loving her. Back at Brooke's, Liam wondered if Bill had loved Kelly. Bill hedged, saying Kelly was special to him, especially the night at Clark Lake, when he was conceived. Liam paused at the name Clark Lake, revealing his mom had given him a map of the lake, with a heart drawn on one spot. Bill took the map, asking Liam again if they could forge a relationship and extending his hand. Liam took it! Liam then went out for some air, and Steffy followed him. "Your life won't ever be the same," she noted, before Bill asked her to give them a minute alone. Bill asked Liam to reconsider working at Spencer. Liam cracked a joke about a six-figure salary and a corner office, earning a smile from his new dad. Inside, Hope learned from Katie and Steffy about the
rapprochement and then asked Steffy to leave her house. Later, at the Spencer offices, Katie was all giddy about her husband's new son, and Bill said he was lucky to have her. Back on Brooke's terrace, Liam raved to Hope about the whole experience, and then they addressed the strength of their new connection. Katie wondered if Bill would've married Kelly, and he said he didn't do "what ifs." They kissed and cuddled as, across town, Hope told Liam she'd broken up with Oliver, because she has feelings for him. "I love you, Hope," Liam blurted out. She said "I love you" right back, and they kissed.
At the Forrester Sky Lounge, Brooke and Ridge canoodled, joking about moving to the steam room for privacy. Ridge missed having Brooke at the office. An angsty Oliver ended up there after being dumped by Hope, and he told her shocked parents what happened. He told them Hope was seeing Liam, and swore he wasn't giving up on her. Brooke and Ridge arrived home to see Hope and Liam talking on the terrace. They witnessed their whole adorable "I love you" conversation and Brooke was relieved to see her daughter safe and thriving. Ridge and Brooke exchanged "I love you's" of their own.
