Monday
Thorne visited Stephanie and asked why she's been avoiding the family. She admitted that she had another stroke, but it wasn't serious. Thorne was understandably concerned and couldn't fathom why she'd kept this secret. She assured him that she's taking care of herself, and that everyone at Jackie M made her feel important. Thorne made her promise that she'd let him be there for her. She said that she'd tell Eric when she's ready. Later, Thorne told his mom that business isn't going so well at Forrester. She was appalled when he noted that Bill intended to name Katie the company's C.E.O.
At the beach house, Donna and Brooke were upset when Katie sided with Bill. Bill argued that Katie isn't siding with him; she just wants to see growth in Forrester Creations. He promised that when he buys the company, he'll retain Brooke and Donna and make them money. Katie believed that the company could be rebuilt with Spencer's help. The sisters stormed out, but Katie assured Bill that she believes in him and kissed him. Bill suspected that Brooke was starting to believe in him, too. Later, they discussed the business while playing a game. Bill thought that if they could get Brooke on board, it would be easier to deal with everyone else.
Ridge and Eric vowed that no one, especially Bill, would get their hands on Forrester Creations. After, Brooke and Donna told them that Bill purchased the beach house and Katie was living with him. Eric was horrified. He was even more upset when they reported that Katie had been watching a DVD in which Bill Spencer, Sr. had instructed Bill, Jr. to get a hold of Forrester. Eric concluded that Bill was trying to get revenge from beyond the grave and called it a "deal with the devil." The rest were surprised when Brooke defended Bill's vision. Later, Bill called Brooke and implored her to get Eric to accept his deal. However, Eric and Ridge said that he was wasting his time. Brooke urged them to consider.
Tuesday
At the beach house, Bill assured Katie that Eric will accept the deal and let Spencer buy out Forrester. "Forester Creations is about to enter the Katie Logan era," Bill announced. Justin arrived with important papers and they all headed out for their meeting at Forrester.
Stephanie informed Nick, Jackie, Bridget and Whip that Forrester Creations is in "dire straits" and may be bought by Bill. Nick worried that Forrester will become even stiffer competition if Spencer becomes the new owner. Bridget highly doubted that her father would give up his company but Whip pointed out that Eric may not have a choice. Stephanie rubbed it in that Eric and Brooke's bad decisions led to this crisis. Later, Whip was curious when he found info about surrogacy on Jackie's desk. She revealed that this was Owen's idea and shared her reservations about raising a child.
Ridge and Brooke insisted to Brooke that they are not selling the company to Bill. Right on cue, Bill, Katie and Justin arrived and Bill urged Eric to sell. Justin then played a video where the late Bill Spencer Sr. bragged about the successes of Spencer Publications. The Forrester gang wasn't impressed and Bill pointed out that he would pay off their mountain of debt. Katie took a softer approach and emphasized that no one at Forrester would be laid off. Justin explained that the Forresters would also have stock in Spencer Publications. Eric pitched that Ridge be appointed CEO but Bill insisted that the office would go to Katie. Brooke asked Bill and Justin to leave the office for a moment and once they were gone, she told a surprised Eric and Ridge that Katie as CEO could work. Brooke proposed that Katie serve as CEO but let Eric and Ridge still basically call the shots. Katie reluctantly agreed. Bill burst in and demanded a decision. Ridge said their condition is that Katie be the only Spencer employee in Forrester. Bill agreed and a tentative deal was struck.
Wednesday
Donna watched as a depressed Eric packed his office in anticipation of Katie moving in the next day. Donna assured her husband that his creative input will still be valuable to the company but Eric wasn't appeased. Donna tried another approach. "As of today you are completely pressure free," she pointed out and Eric appreciated her pep talk. They agreed that their love is forever and started making out. Eric fretted about how to handle the press but then decided that Bill can take care of that now. Donna affirmed that everything could work out fine with Katie at the helm. After packing his last box, Eric took a final look at his office and walked out with Donna.
A stressed-out Ridge came home and while Brooke rubbed his shoulders, he lamented about the big changes at Forrester. Brooke reiterated her trust in Katie to remain true to them but Ridge wasn't so convinced, thanks to Bill's influence over her. It is, Ridge summed up, "an impossible situation." Still, Ridge expressed his gratitude that Brooke is "at my side."
With her promise to stay loyal to the Forresters ringing in her ears, Katie returned to the beach house to find a romantically-set dining table. Bill greeted her and announced that he was preparing a special dinner. They poured wine and toasted to her future job at Forrester as Bill declared this is her "opportunity to shine." After they supped and engaged in a little slow dancing, Bill presented a heart-shaped jewelry box to Katie. She was stunned to open it and find an engagement ring (with a huge diamond). Bill proposed and Katie tearfully answered, "Yes, I will marry you." She then promised to be loyal to him "always."
Thursday
Katie was excited about her first day as CEO of Forrester Creations (of course, the huge rock on her finger had a lot to do with her upbeat spirits). After Bill showed her an advance copy of Eye On Fashion with her image on the cover, they headed over to Forrester, where Brooke greeted her sister at Eric's former office. To Ridge's chagrin, Bill urged Katie to sit behind the desk, which she found very comfy, and an enthusiastic Brooke said Katie will make a fine CEO. Ridge then noticed Katie's ring and Bill revealed that they're engaged, much to Brooke's horror. "Which one of you is going to welcome me to the family first?" Bill grinned, which rubbed Ridge and Brooke the wrong way. Later, when the sisters were alone, Brooke fretted that Katie's engagement will compromise her loyalty to the the Forresters. Katie assured that everything will be okay.
Steffy's concern for Owen pushed Taylor to advise her daughter to stay out of his marriage. Steffy shared that Owen wanted to start a family but Jackie didn't and Steffy thought it was a disservice to him. "I will not have you turn out like Brooke," Taylor insisted and Steffy finally realized what her mother was getting at. She promised to back off from Owen.
Bridget brought Jack by the office and Jackie was affected when she saw Owen playing with the tot. Bridget and Jack left so she could get new pictures of him taken and Owen departed soon after. Nick could see that his mother was bothered and asked what was wrong. She lamented how Owen wanted a baby but she didn't and felt awful for holding him back from his dream. Nick suggested that Jackie and Owen focus on being a couple, then revisit the prospect of parenthood later. She pointed out that she will only get older
so she needs to decide on becoming a mom again soon. Jackie returned to her loft, where Owen laid it on thick about them becoming parents. "Just say yes," he urged and Jackie finally agreed.
Friday
Owen was elated that Jackie agreed to start a family but when he wasn't looking, her expression belied her absolute dread. Owen excitedly started looking through the surrogate catalogue in search of a possible mommy candidate. His enthusiasm only made Jackie feel more apprehensive — and guilty. Owen reiterated how important a baby is to him but wanted Jackie to tell him that it will help her feel fulfilled. She finally admitted that she didn't want to start a family. The doorbell rang and Owen was surprised that Jackie had summoned Steffy over. Jackie acknowledged Owen's close friendship with Steffy and asked the young lady to consider doing something important
for him. Color Steffy confused.
While making out with Bridget, Nick explained how Owen wants to have a baby and Jackie doesn't. Bridget was sure the Knights can work it out because "they're crazy about each other." Nick was still worried over the upheaval a child will cause for his mother.
As Forresters and Logans prepared for the press conference to announce Spencer taking over, Ridge informed Eric that Katie is now engaged to Bill. Brooke reminded Katie that they all trust her "implicitly." The press conference began and Brooke announced Forrester's new partnership with Spencer Publications. Bill took the podium and introduced Katie as the new CEO. A reporter asked about Katie’s ring and Bill revealed that they are engaged. Then the hard questions started rolling in about Katie's lack of experience. She answered that she will handle the day-to-day operations so Eric and Ridge can focus solely on designing. Someone asked who Katie will answer to at the end of the day and she affirmed Bill. Brooke was shocked and after the press conference was adjourned, she asked Katie, "How could you do this to us?" Later, Eric and Ridge raged at Katie for her betrayal. Bill showed up and told them to get used to being "Spencer employees." After he left, Brooke asked once more: where did Katie loyalty lie?
