Monday
With just about everyone looking on, Bridget confirmed that Taylor was in early labor. When they got to the hospital, the doctor was calm about the timing, but Thomas, Phoebe and Jackie were as worried as they were excited. In the delivery room, the doc was ready to have Taylor push, but the baby's heart rate starting dropping. When the doc had Bridget prepare for a C-section, Taylor objected, but the doc also asked the mother to push. When Carl heard what was up, he worried they'd need to know the identity of the real mother, but Bridget told him to stay out of it. After Bridget returned to the room, there was another scare, but then the baby came out screaming. Nick and Taylor held and cooed over their new child while an emotional Bridget spread the word.
Ridge talked to reporter Jared about finally taking back the Forrester's baby, Forrester Originals. Jared wanted to rush the story onto his mag's cover, insisting the "money shot" was Ridge and Brooke, "Fashion's supercouple back where they belong." Ridge insisted Eric was the story, so Jared asked how his fiancé Ashley felt about him working with Brooke again. Then Brooke showed up and Jared was excused so Brooke could tell Ridge about Taylor's labor. She was as nervous as the family and called Bridget for an update, which only left her more worried. He mused that, considering her past with Taylor, "It's amazing the sympathetic feeling for this child," but she only shrugged that her relationship with his kids made this new child family too.
After Eric checked in on Taylor, Donna commended him for standing beside a friend even when he was mad at Nick. Then she revealed she had a showdown with Katie and asked how he felt about their relationship news hitting the wires. He wanted to be the one to tell Stephanie, out of respect to her, and also wanted to postpone dealing with the "strong opinions" of his family and "keep you to myself." She was touched. Unfortunately, Felicia overheard their chat and interrupted their makeup kiss. She immediately went on the attack, insisting, "Whatever the problem is, you can get past it. Don't throw a lifetime away on Donna."
Tuesday
At the hospital, Bridget told Nick privately that she'll run the maternity tests ASAP. In the waiting room, Jackie rejoiced with Thomas and Phoebe at the prospect that her grandson is happy and healthy. Nick took her, Phoebe and Thomas in to see the baby and Taylor. Jackie beamed while holding the baby. Nick asked Thomas to pass the good news along to everyone that mother and baby are doing fine. After Jackie, Thomas and Phoebe left, Dr. Caron entered and admonished Nick and Taylor about having any more visitors. Dr. Caron announced that the lab results revealed a very serious problem. He explained that the baby was born without much of an immune system, and warned the illness is serious and potentially fatal. They caught it early, however, so it's treatable via a bone marrow transplant. Dr. Caron announced she'd contact the egg donor about donating bone marrow, and in the meantime placed the baby in sterile isolation. Nick comforted a crying Taylor as they wheeled the baby out of the room, and reassured her that things would work out. Dr. Caron contacted the egg donor and explained the situation, and asked her if she'd be willing to donate bone marrow if the father's wasn't suitable.
In the lab, Karl asked Bridget if she's going to run the maternity test. Bridget was annoyed by Karl's questioning. She submitted the sample to the lab computer, and both Bridget and Karl anxiously awaited the results. Bridget ruminated over the "huge complication" that's looming over so many people she loves and cares about.
Eric noted Felicia's disapproval of his relationship with Donna, and Felicia warned them that her mother will be back. Eric dropped the bombshell that Stephanie was responsible for Brooke's rape and ran out of town without facing Brooke when she realized what had happened with Andy. Felicia couldn't accept her mother's role in what happened, and warned Donna to stay away from her father or suffer the consequences. Eric comforted Donna as Felicia stormed out.
Wednesday
At the hospital, Dr. Caron asked the egg donor if she'd be willing to come in and have her marrow tested. The donor agreed. Dr. Caron was surprised to learn the donor was a doctoral psych student in the psych ward at the hospital. Meanwhile, in Taylor's hospital room, Nick tried to reassure her that everything would work out fine. Taylor flipped out when a lab tech entered and revealed that Nick's marrow is unsuitable for transplant. Nick did his best to comfort a despondent Taylor. Her mood shifted when Dr. Caron entered and revealed that the egg donor was available and willing to help.
Meanwhile, Nick ran off to the fertility lab to check on the results of the maternity test. An exasperated Nick asked Bridget for the results. Bridget offered her apologies for the outcome: the egg came from her mother. A disbelieving Nick wondered how this happened, and how he could tell Taylor. Bridget suggested that Taylor is no condition to hear the truth. Nick told Bridget she has to summon Brooke to the hospital ASAP to save his baby's life before it's too late. Bridget raced off to find Brooke and to alert Dr. Caron that the presumed egg donor is not the donor after all.
Ridge and Brooke struck quite an amorous pose for the photographers for the next issue of Eye on Fashion. After the shoot Brooke turned on the charm and invited Ridge to help her finish off the champagne they used in the shoot. Over champagne Brooke asked Ridge to forgive her for the "one mistake" of running back to Nick after the Sydney trip. Brooke declared Ridge was and is the only man for her. After sweetly declaring her love for him, Brooke and Ridge kissed. Their kiss was interrupted by a phone call from Bridget, who asked Brooke to come to the hospital ASAP. Brooke agreed and kissed Ridge goodbye. Bridget then walked into the OR and told Dr. Caron about the baby's true maternity. Bridget was able to stop Dr. Caron from taking marrow from the presumed donor and instead prepared to take some from Brooke. When Brooke arrived at the hospital, Nick spotted her and ushered her into an empty room to break the news to her. "There's something about my boy, something you need to know." Bridget then entered the room and explained the baby's immune disease. "What does this have to do with me?" queried a clueless Brooke. "It has everything to do with you," cautioned Nick.
Thursday
In Paris, Ashley checked into her hotel suite at Forrester International and was shocked to find Rick in her bathtub. Rick coyly invited her to join him for breakfast via room service. After breakfast they dressed and prepared for their business meeting. Ashley suggested it wouldn't look too good if they both walked into the offices together with their luggage.
Katie stopped by to see Brooke and found Ridge, still dressed up from his photo shoot. Katie quizzed Ridge as to why he was there, and about the lipstick on his shirt collar. Katie continued to give Ridge a chilly reception. Ridge responded with sarcasm and stood his ground. Katie warned Ridge that they both have to be careful with Brooke because of her fragile emotional state. As they waited for Brooke to return, Katie confessed that she'd be happy if he and Brooke reconciled, but she just doesn't want to see her sister hurt. Ridge admitted to Katie that he's made up his mind about who he wants to be with, but refused to tell Katie.
At the hospital, Nick and Bridget broke the news to Brooke that she is the biological mother of Nick and Taylor's baby. "The child I wanted to give you — I did?!" a bewildered Brooke asked rhetorically. Brooke immediately agreed to have her bone marrow tested. Nick and Brooke shared an emotional hug while Bridget looked on. Dr. Caron prepped Brooke for the donation procedure, and admonished Nick from entering the OR. Nick threatened Dr. Caron and the hospital for legal action because of the screw-up, and declared that things will be handled however he deems fit from here on. Once the test results came back with a green light, they want ahead with the donation and infusion. Meanwhile, Bridget updated Taylor when Taylor awoke from her sedative. Bridget didn't reveal the identity of the donor to Taylor, who still had no clue it's Brooke. While Brooke remained in recovery, Ridge called her on her cell. Brooke told Ridge not to wait for her and promised she'd explain everything tomorrow. Ridge told Brooke he loved her. After her talk with Ridge Nick wheeled the baby over so Brooke could get a good look at him. Brooke reassured Nick that he and Taylor and their baby will have a wonderful life together. "Thank you, for our son," a grateful Nick beamed as they held hands. Just then they heard Taylor's voice. Taylor wheeled herself into the room in a wheelchair. Nick pulled the curtain just in time to conceal Brooke's identity. Taylor told Nick she wanted to thank the donor for being their "angel of mercy." Brooke looked horrified as she overheard Taylor on the other side of the curtain.
Friday
At the hospital, Nick did his best to stall while Taylor persisted in wanting to see the egg donor to thank her for the marrow transplant. Bridget wheeled the baby into the room just in time, which distracted Taylor before she could discover that Brooke was the donor behind the curtain. Taylor quizzed Nick about why he seemed reluctant to have her meet the donor. Nick tried to stonewall, but that only fueled Taylor's suspicions. Nick relented and tried to tell Taylor only part of the truth, admitting that the egg donor they selected was not ultimately the donor who was used. Taylor became agitated and demanded to know who the real donor was. Nick finally revealed to Taylor that Brooke was the donor. Taylor flipped out. "I wanted a child — our child. Now what do I have? a child of Brooke's. She ruined everything! She's taken everything from me all my life." Taylor pushed Nick away when he tried to comfort her, and collapsed onto her bed in tears. Brooke quietly entered the room, and put her hand on Brooke's back. "Taylor?" she asked, as a distraught Taylor turned to face her....
Ann drove Stephanie back to the Forrester mansion. In the car, Ann admonished Stephanie for cutting and running on her family, and insisted that she face the music and fix things with Eric and her family before it's too late. "If Eric could forgive you for lying about my being dead all these years, surely he could forgive you for whatever you did this time," Ann quipped. Stephanie was surprised to see that Ann didn't want to stay to see her in, but preferred to go back to the airport and catch her flight back to Chicago. Inside the house, Donna was annoyed when Eric seemed to withdraw a bit from her. Donna asked if he was worried about Felicia's threats. Eric said it's Stephanie, not Felicia that she should be worried about. As Eric downed a drink Donna noticed that Eric was still wearing his wedding band, and accused Eric of forgiving Stephanie. As Eric wallowed in regret and depression over the state of affairs in his life, Donna gave him an impassioned pep talk, which culminated in a declaration of love, and a kiss. Their kiss was interrupted by Stephanie knocking on the door. Eric instructed Donna to hide on the terrace while Eric let Stephanie in. Stephanie barreled in with much bravado and downplayed everything. She picked up on Eric's anger and resentment and began to adopt a more contrite tone. He was enraged that Stephanie tried to write off what happened to Brooke as a mistake. She asked Eric for his forgiveness. Eric called her on her inability to change even after the revelation of her father's abuse. Stephanie conceded she's not sure if she can change, but offered to do anything she could to make things right. "Please don't let this be the end of us," she pleaded as a nervous Donna listened in.
