Bold and Beautiful Recaps

B&B Week of November 10, 2008

Monday

Steffy and Taylor beamed over the progress they felt they'd made with Ridge and talked about how Stephanie was Taylor/Ridge Fan No. 1. Steffy had hoped everything would automatically go back to the way she remembered after the evening of reminiscing and was bummed that it hadn't. She wanted to call her dad and speed up the Taylor/Ridge reunion process. She was shocked to hear from Ridge that Rick is walking now.

Eric asked Ridge to co-run Forrester with Rick, but Ridge couldn't do it.
Eric railed about Ridge disconnecting him from life support. "Rick tell you all this?" Ridge wondered. "I never wanted you to die, Dad," he explained, talking about how awful that day had been and how he'd heard Eric say, "Let me go." "You gave up on me," accused Eric, insisting he'd never give up on Ridge. Well, Ridge certainly felt like Eric had given up on him now. He couldn't and wouldn't share with Rick.

Rick hastily made excuses when Brooke caught him standing, revealing Eric believed in him and wanted him to be president of Forrester and the joy had propelled him to his feet. Eric and Ridge came in, and Ridge was decidedly skeptical about the "miracle." Eric and Brooke ensconced Rick back in the bed as he raved about finally being out of Ridge's shadow and looking forward to his first day as Forrester CEO. Alone, Rick dubbed Ridge "an insufferable egomaniac" and reminded him he's Massimo's "bastard son." This was his time, with HIS father. "If you cross me... I'll destroy you," he warned, as Ridge just smirked and called him a whiny brat.

Tuesday

Eric was excited to announce Rick as the new president of Forrester Creations. Jake set up the video and audio for the announcement, and excused himself just as Thorne arrived. Thorne was furious about Rick being named president. Eric defended his decision.

Steffy arrived at Forrester and wondered what all the buzz was about. Rick joined her and Marcus. Thorne immediately rushed over and sniped at Rick about becoming president. Steffy was shocked, and got annoyed when she realized Marcus was happy for Rick. Marcus pointed out that Eric had always been a fair man, so there must be a reason for his decision. Steffy called Taylor and told her what was happening. Alone with his dad, Rick thanked him for the opportunity. Rick claimed to be sorry that Ridge had refused to share the presidency. Marcus asked Jake about the podcast, and Jake explained that it wouldn't be live, just in case they needed to do any editing.

Stephanie questioned Ridge about Eric's big announcement. Ridge explained that he was no longer president of Forrester Creations — Eric was giving the position to Rick. Stephanie was shocked, but Ridge told her that Rick had told Eric about him turning off the ventilator while Eric was still in a coma. Stephanie couldn't imagine why Rick would do that. Ridge said Rick blamed him for everything bad in his life. Brooke chimed in, insisting that Eric must have found out some other way. Ridge was positive it was Rick. He also told Stephanie that Rick was trying to undermine her relationship with Brooke. She denied it. Stephanie asked what Brooke thought of the announcement, and Brooke said she would have liked for Ridge and Rick to share the presidency, but since that couldn't happen, Eric had to make a decision. She and Ridge began to argue. Stephanie left, determined to get to the bottom of the situation. Ridge asked Brooke to take a stand for him. Brooke said she couldn't do that, and he shouldn't ask her to. Brooke told Ridge that when she made her statement to the press, she would make her loyalties clear. Ridge told her that their love would get them through this, and they kissed before Brooke left.

Brooke found Rick at Forrester, and tried to explain how Ridge was feeling. Rick said that he needed to know that she supported him, and she promised she did, but added that she didn't like being put in the middle of him and Ridge. Rick reminded her that it was Ridge who wouldn't share the presidency. Brooke just hoped her speech would make everyone happy. Rick expressed his gratitude for everything she had done for him since the accident, and they embraced.

Taylor told Ridge how sorry she was. Ridge talked about how he was feeling. He told her that Brooke was going to make a statement that made it clear she didn't support Rick as president.

Stephanie barged into Eric's office and demanded to talk to him alone. She told him that Forrester already had a president- — Ridge. He told her he wasn't going to change his mind. She accused him of being mad at Ridge for taking him off the ventilator, and he admitted that was true. He was also mad that no one else had told him about it. She explained that Ridge had been trying to keep him from suffering. They continued to argue until Rick interrupted them. In front of Rick, Eric said that he could forgive Ridge for pulling the plug, but not for saying Rick was faking his injuries. Stephanie continued to say he was making a mistake, and begged him not to do this to Ridge.

Wednesday

Before the CEO announcement podcast, Stephanie gave Eric a priceless "Oh, please!" look as he explained installing Rick as new Forrester CEO. Ridge talked to Taylor about Rick's "sob story," saying it was like the one Thorne used to give every few years. Taylor comfortingly massaged Ridge's shoulders. Ridge hoped that Brooke would temper the CEO announcement with her rationality. Taylor wondered when Ridge was moving back into Brooke's, and Ridge bitterly noted Rick has a "long road of fake recovery ahead of him." When Taylor was shocked, Ridge assured her the paralysis was a "charade" to get him out of the company and away from Brooke.

At Forrester, Eric started the podcast recording as Brooke and Rick looked on. He raved about Rick while Steph and Thorne both sported emphatic looks of disbelief. Rick promised to exceed expectations as Forrester's new prez and then it was Brooke's turn at the podium. She waxed poetic about Rick's skills, dubbing Rick and Eric a "winning team," before moving on to praising Ridge's contribution to Forrester. "We wouldn't be here without him," she sighed of "the extraordinary man" who was "the cornerstone of Forrester Creations." Rick seethed and later whined about Brooke building up Ridge's ego. Brooke then confided to Eric and Steph that she hopes Ridge gets past his anger. Steph thanked her for the nice things she said. Elsewhere, Jake got called away while editing the podcast, so Rick offered to finish it up for him. You could almost see the wheels turning as Rick hobbled to the desk and listened to the podcast. "Barf!" he cracked at Brooke's praise. Then, the wheels started turning in his scheming head. He edited out Ridge's name from the gushfest!

Later, Stephanie begrudgingly told Eric she'd support his decision. She just hoped Ridge would be okay. Elsewhere, Ridge and Taylor watched the podcast on his laptop. Ridge was bummed that Eric hadn't mentioned him. Taylor pointed out Brooke probably would. Thanks to Rick's creative editing, she didn't! All the praise was showered on Rick! Rick crowed and Ridge was furious that "Little Ricky...the whiny, little bastard" got all the kudos. He couldn't wait to let his "devoted fiancée" have it. Compassionate Taylor said he could call her anytime he wants. Alone, Rick deleted Brooke's original speech. When Brooke arrived home, beaming and clueless, Ridge asked her if she meant everything she said. "Everything last word," she said. Cue Ridge blasting her for her betrayal...

Thursday

Brooke was bewildered when Ridge snarked at her and stalked off. Elsewhere, Rick flashed back on Eric dubbing him the new president of Forrester and then Taylor dropped by to congratulate him on walking again. Naturally, Rick took potshots at Ridge. Taylor mentioned how devastated Ridge was by the podcast. Rick didn't care. "This was my day," he asserted. "The days of Ridge playing his games are over!" Back at Brooke's, she was still baffled as Ridge blasted her. She claimed she did her best. The argument eventually evolved into one about their romantic past and their future. "This resentment, you've been hanging onto this for a while," realized Brooke. Ridge insisted Rick had conned her, and she defended her son. "It's like we're cursed," raged Ridge of their relationship. "We've been doing this dance for so many years." He was mad as hell and he couldn't take it anymore! Back in Rick's office, Taylor admitted she didn't know what might happen with her and Ridge. Rick said she deserves better. Taylor insisted Ridge and Brooke's "toxic roller-coaster" had to stop. On that very roller-coaster, Brooke insisted their love was "stronger than ever," but Ridge wasn't so sure. He took off on his motorcycle. Tearful Brooke was devastated, flashing back on marrying Ridge and having kids with him. She just didn't understand what had happened. Rick soon arrived home to comfort her and urge her to confirm she and Ridge were over.

Eric and Stephanie talked about Ridge's perspective. Eric praised Brooke for reminding Ridge how important he is. He told Stephanie that someday she'd have to accept Brooke's position in the family, as nothing would come between Brooke and Ridge. Stephanie obviously didn't buy that. Ridge soon showed up to tell her about the podcast and how Brooke went "on and on" about Rick. He even barreled over Steph when she tried to share her confusion.

Friday

Ridge headed to Malibu, thinking about his beach wedding with Brooke years ago.
Brooke wanted some time alone as well, so she left Rick at home and went horseback riding at the beach. After a while, she got off her horse and wept. Ridge was on the cliffs above. Brooke got back on her horse and began to ride away. Ridge saw her and called after her. Brooke heard his voice and spotted him.

Katie told Nick that something had happened between Brooke and Ridge, and "it's not good." Nick looked concerned. "Ridge walked out on her," Katie explained. Nick wondered if it had anything to do with Taylor. Katie worried that if Brooke were free, then Nick might want her back...but she tried to sound optimistic. "This is just a speed bump," Katie insisted. "They are in love just like we are."

Rick answered the door. It was Stephanie, asking about Brooke. "What's going on? What have you done?" Stephanie asked. "I have put a wedge between Ridge and Brooke," Rick said triumphantly as he threw away his crutches. "You have been conning everybody," an angry Stephanie noted. Rick admitted that he tampered with the Forrester podcast. Stephanie called Rick "his mother's son." Rick pointed out that Ridge and Brooke together "are a train wreck." Stephanie refused to play along with Rick's game. "If you bust me, you are going to have to deal with the consequences," Rick threatened. Rick tried to convince Stephanie that she could have her life back, "with my mom out of the picture."
