Monday
"My son hates me," Donna bemoaned to Katie, talking about Marcus' anger at her abandoning him. "You gave him a family," Katie reasoned, urging Donna to tell Eric the truth. Speaking of Eric, Ridge came into the office to go another round or two over Donna being a "liability" to Forrester. Eric warned Ridge he was jeopardizing their relationship, claiming he trusted Donna. Back at Chez Forrester, Donna beat herself up for her lies. She didn't want Eric's family to turn on him for this. "Secrets are toxic," warned Katie. Fresh off that warning, Donna visited Eric. Of course, Ridge was still there, all rude and eye-rolling. Donna asked them not to argue about her. Alone, Eric allayed her fears. Donna tried to work up the nerve to tell him about Marcus.
At Forrester, a tearful Phoebe flashed back on walking in on Taylor and Rick and encountered Brooke. Feebs wasn't in the mood to share, but Brooke guessed she knew about Rick and her mom. At Taylor's, Rick tried to get through to her but she reiterated that they're finito. Phoebe admitted she felt like an idiot and, oddly enough, Brooke was being sympathetic and not all, "Ha-ha, your mom is an evil tramp." She was glad to hear that Taylor had dumped her son. But hold that thought, Brooke, because Rick was still trying to win Taylor over. "No parent wants to betray their child," sighed Brooke to Phoebe (a subject she knows very well), before Ridge arrived and hugged his daughter. Feebs talked about the totally scarring revelation and Ridge, too, was very sympathetic and not so much with the gloating and judgment. Rick urged Taylor to tell Phoebe how she feels but she didn't want to explain to Phoebe how weak she'd been during her crisis. "This is how people react to unconventional relationships," insisted Rick, citing his dad and Donna. He refused to give up and put his ring back on her finger. She took it off, thanking him for being a "miraculous gift" and making her feel like a queen (unlike Nick and Ridge, who loved Brooke more). But she couldn't
lose Phoebe. She begged him to leave.
Tuesday
Ridge and Brooke cornered Taylor, who explained that she didn't have sex with Rick. Taylor added that she ended the relationship with Rick when Phoebe walked in on them. Brooke said she was worried about Rick. "My son's universe is crumbling," she yelled. Rick told Ridge and Brooke that Phoebe would get over this. Phoebe entered the confab. "I have something to say to all of you," she declared. Ridge said that Taylor never intended to hurt her. Taylor vowed it was over with Rick. Rick apologized to Phoebe. "Rick says that he's in love with you and you love him too," Phoebe said to her mom as she gave her blessing to the romance. She told Rick she didn't want to be a victim. Rick assured her that Taylor loves her more than him. Rick then proposed to Taylor, ring and all. Brooke begged Taylor not to agree to the marriage.
Pam took a call from Marcus. After offering to take a message, a nosy Pam wondered who Marcus was. Donna asked Pam if there were any messages. Pam said no. (What a liar!)
Meanwhile, Marcus waited for Donna's call. Pam cornered Marcus at Insomnia. "You are so busted," she crowed. "I have no idea what you are talking about," he replied. "Donna Logan. Now I have your attention," Pam said.
Donna told Katie about the Forrester's ultimatum with Eric and that's why she didn't tell him about Marcus. Katie hoped Donna wasn't beating herself up about this whole Marcus situation, and tried to convince her sister not to have any regrets. "I've always had regrets," Donna admitted. The conversation ended when Eric came into the room. "What is it, honey?" he asked tenderly. Eric vowed his undying love for Donna, but she looked worried. Later, Donna had a heart-to-heart with Eric. "You have so much faith in me," she marveled. Eric shared that he had made a promise to Ridge and the rest of the family. He explained that the family was worried that Donna would bring scandal to the family. Donna looked troubled. Eric said that if she did so, he would resign as head of Forrester Creations. Donna grew upset. "It's so unfair," she cried. Donna became angry as Eric tried to explain why the family was worried. "They don't know you the way I do," Eric told his new wife. "You just be yourself." Then Eric asked Donna what she needed to tell him. "It's not important," she said. Eric said the family hadn't put any more demands on him, but they did feel threatened by Donna and they worried what might happen if she and Eric had a child. Eric said he didn't want any more children. "You are all I really want. Are you okay with that?" he asked. Donna didn't know; she hadn't thought about it.
Wednesday
In a veritable powwow, Brooke tried to caution Taylor about marrying Rick.
"You were both on the rebound," she accused. "This wasn't a romance, this was a rescue mission." Rick said that Phoebe's opinion mattered but Brooke and Ridge's? Not so much! Rick then scarred his mama (and the recapper for life) by bringing up the idea of him and Taylor having sex. Taylor cut in by readdressing the issue of engagement: "Yes, I will marry you!" She wanted to talk to Steffy and Thomas, of course, but she was all for it. Rick then begged Brooke to accept things before leaving with Taylor. Alone, Ridge and Brooke were rattled and analyzed the situation to death. Back at Taylor's, she and Rick reveled in their newly blessed love. The duo finally got to undress each other and consummate their affair, complete with the obligatory porno sax wailing in the background and Taylor's bare thigh. Back at Forrester, Brooke managed to make Taylor's love story all about her, saying it's "revenge." Ridge strongly suggested that she "back off." In the afterglow, Taylor and Rick cuddled and laughed about what face they'd present to the world. Taylor confessed to Rick that she finally felt like she was truly loved, and that she loved him right back.
Pam questioned Marcus at Insomnia, saying Donna was taking advantage of him. Marcus was confused about why the Forrester receptionist was stalking him and amused to hear Pam thought he and Donna were having an affair. Marcus advised her, "Get your brain checked out," and shot down all her theories.
Thursday
At Nick's, he blew a party horn in Katie's ear and wished her a happy birthday. Too bad Katie wasn't in a party mood. Nick tried to change her mind and she suggested he celebrate with Bridget, before saying she didn't know how long she could stay at Casa Marone. She tamped down those pesky feelings as Nick said, "You're stuck with us." Bridget hovered over Katie and Nick told her maybe they should "leave well enough alone." Alone, Katie flashed back on mooning over Nick at the hospital and then visited with a gift-toting Stephanie. Where were Nick and Bridget? Upstairs, doing what couples do. Steph's suspicions were definitely piqued by Katie's thoughts on Bridget and Nick's relationship. "Would you rather be the woman up there instead of Bridget?" Steph asked, idly referencing Brooke stealing Nick from Bridget. Defensive Katie assured her things were different. "I would never do anything that would cause her pain," she swore.
At Forrester, Thorne and Felicia kvetched about Donna (as they always do with their scant air time) and Ridge threw his two cents in. "Rule No. 1: When planning a mutiny, close the door," cracked Eric, walking in. At the mansion, Donna was relieved to see Marcus back — and not so relieved to hear Pam was nosing around. She wanted Marcus in her life. He said he had a life in Texas to get back to. Eric and the kids went a few rounds about Donna and her skeleton-ridden closet, while Donna said she wanted Marcus to officially meet her family. "I'm not ashamed of you," she assured. However, she copped to not telling Eric yet. "I'm outta here," said a hurt Marcus, growing even more hurt at the thought that he's a "scandal" that would hurt Eric's company. Eric praised Donna's compassion and decried his kids' lack of it. Donna tried to explain the depths of the Forresters' hatred for her and Marcus wondered what would happen if Eric couldn't get past her news. "This whole family sounds very messed up to me," he understated, offering to "just go." Donna pleaded with him to stay. Later, Felicia assured her daddy that his family would be there after Donna let him down. Donna was certain that Eric would defend her and her son. "It's going to be worth it," she promised. "I know I can make this right." Eric, of course, walked in on Donna begging Marcus to give her a chance.
Friday
Bridget and Nick decorated the living room for Katie's birthday. "Her first birthday with her new heart," Bridget said, adding that she was worried about any signs of rejection. Katie walked in and said she really didn't want a big party. Nick said it was a way for everyone to celebrate a life that was given back to them. Katie opened presents from Thorne, Nick and Bridget.
Jackie (a blond Lesley-Anne Down) even showed up. She noted that Nick was now living with two women. "Enough, Mother," he said. Brooke showed up. "Look who arrived. Now it is a party," Jackie snarked. Dr. Patrick was a surprise visitor. He looked serious. "Katie's checkup this morning. Test results are not good. She's showing signs of rejection," he told Bridget. "Oh no," Bridget replied, her eyes welling up with tears. The family gathered for the cutting of the birthday cake. Bridget told her aunt how blessed they were to have her in their lives. Bridget got choked up. "Happy birthday. May you lead a very long life," she said. Nick joined Katie on the couch. Katie started to blow out the candles, but then fainted and fell off the couch.
Brooke invited Ridge to the party. Ridge got a call and had to stay at the office to take a conference call from the Philippines. Brooke went alone after giving Ridge a big smooch goodbye. Ridge completed the conference call. Ashley popped in and asked about Katie. She then asked about Ridge's relationship with Brooke. He admitted he was worried about Donna Logan Forrester. "I don't like being at odds with Dad over this," he confessed.
Eric walked in on Donna and Marcus, and recognized Marcus from the catering group. Donna said there was a problem. "You just sort of ruined the surprise," Donna said. Donna lied and said she was planning a surprise that needed catering. She reminded Eric that she loves him so much. Eric thought he knew what this was all about and guessed that she was pregnant. Donna assured Eric she wasn't pregnant but she began to explain Marcus. Donna feared Eric's response. "I just hope it doesn't change your opinion of me," she said. Eric got a call he had to take. Marcus came in. "I'd like him to stay," she said. "Because it involves him." "Maybe I should tell him," Marcus offered. "Marcus is my son," Donna told her surprised husband.
