B&B Week of January 12, 2009
Monday
"Is there something you're not telling me?" Marcus asked but Steffy explained that she feels "messed up." He then surmised that she has met another guy. "I'm just not ready to make a commitment," Steffy explained without mentioning Rick. She kept apologizing about breaking up with Marcus but that did little to assuage his hurt. He hugged her goodbye and left. Steffy immediately tried to call Rick but he didn't answer his cell so she left him a message for him to come to Big Bear right away.
Rick and Stephanie demanded that Eric make a decision on who should stay and who should go. Eric shared his reservations about Rick's leadership skills but also raged at Stephanie for her negative comment about Rick to the press. Rick acknowledged his past mistakes while Stephanie carped about the direction Eric is taking Forrester Creations into. Finally, Eric announced that he didn't want either Rick or Stephanie to leave and that they have to
learn to work together. Stephanie still warned that her ex was going to bring Forrester down and stalked out. Eric ordered Rick to play nice or else he won't be president anymore. After everyone cleared out, Donna gave Eric props for how he handled the situation but advised him to take a break. She then whipped out some honey and removed her blouse to entice him for some office sex.
Ridge stared forlornly at Phoebe's photo. Stephanie soon appeared and recounted the showdown with Eric. She pointed out that Rick would try to force her out of the company but Ridge assured that would never happen. Brooke barged in and blasted Stephanie for her behavior. As the women argued, Ridge became infuriated and ordered them to leave his office. Stephanie ultimately left and Brooke stroked Ridge's hair to calm him down. He admitted that he was trying hard not to hate Rick. After Ridge left, Brooke met up with Stephanie again to finish their conversation but they only started disagreeing about family values again. Stephanie then predicted that Rick would eventually destroy Brooke and Ridge's relationship.
Rick showed up at Big Bear and Steffy assumed he got her message. He confirmed he didn't and confessed he came up because the thought of Steffy alone with Marcus was "driving me crazy." She revealed that Marcus had popped the question and Rick said, "Don't marry him." He drew Steffy into a passionate kiss and declared his love. That was good enough for her and they
sank down in front of the roaring fire and started making out.
Tuesday
Pick up on Rick and Steffy macking on each other at the Big Bear cabin. "I don't want this moment to end," she purred while stroking his bare chest. They stopped long enough for him to retrieve more firewood then went back to kissing. They agreed they had to be careful in keeping their relationship under wraps when they return to L.A. but they decided to forget reality by going out and snowboarding. After, those crazy kids returned and relaxed in
front of the fireplace where Steffy recalled childhood memories of Phoebe. Rick confessed that since Phoebe's death, Steffy has become "a lifeline for me." Steffy countered with, "I love you" and credited Rick for making her feel alive again.
"Who knew that planning a wedding would be so much work," Katie rhapsodized but Nick had a troubled look on his face as she shared her wedding dreams. Later, while Katie was out of the room, Nick was on the phone, engaged in an obviously upsetting conversation. Katie walked in and he quickly hung up. She immediately noticed that Nick was tense, but he claimed everything was fine but left so he could make another important call. Suspicious, Katie looked at his laptop. "Oh, my God, this can't be," she gasped then closed the laptop before he returned and didn't let on that she knew anything.
At Forrester Creations, Bridget was surprised to find Marcus back from Big Bear. He shared that Steffy turned down his marriage proposal. "I thought that's what she wanted," he lamented as Bridget tried to comfort him. She became obviously concerned when he shared his fears that Steffy is involved with another guy. After Marcus left, Bridget tried calling Rick's cell phone but didn't get an answer. Worried, she headed up to Big Bear. Upon arriving
at the cabin, Bridget peeked in the window and saw Ricky and Steffy on the floor kissing. Bridget barged in and asked what they were doing. "You and Steffy cannot be together!" Bridget exclaimed. "It's absolutely impossible."
Wednesday
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Bridget asked. "You and Steffy will never be okay." Bridget carried on about how wrong their relationship is and advised they end it now. Rick said it was too late because he and Steffy have fallen in love. Steffy begged Bridget not to tell anyone, but Bridget pointed out that it's only a matter of time until everyone else figures out what's going on. It's best they end it now, Bridget impressed and left. "What are we going to do?" Steffy sobbed, but Rick assured he wouldn't be able to stay away from her. He suggested they keep their romance
on the down low and "see where it takes us." Steffy reluctantly headed back to Los Angeles.
At Café Russo, Jackie ran into Robin McGraw, Dr. Phil's wife. After a quick chat about taking charge of life, Jackie promised to buy Robin's new book. Next, Jackie encountered Stephanie at the bar "I heard your company is on the skids," Steph chirped and Jackie said it was worse than that. Stephanie softened then ordered them a round of drinks and they commiserated over Eric. After some more drinking, Stephanie complained about how Eric was handling the company and Jackie suggested that maybe it was time he was taught a lesson. Stephanie's ears pricked up at that nugget.
Katie told Nick she didn't need an extravagant wedding and suggested they elope. When she also wanted to downsize to a smaller house, a suspicious Nick asked if she had been looking at his computer files. She confessed that she had and Nick confirmed that Jackie M was on the verge of bankruptcy. Nick beat himself up over his lousy investments but Katie reminded him about
the bad economy. Mr. Williams from the bank arrived and announced that Nick's loan couldn't be extended any longer. "I can give you 24 hours before we take any action," Mr. Williams announced, then departed. Nick told Katie that he wanted to be alone but she refused to leave and offered her undying support. Nick was touched by her devotion and they started kissing. After
Katie left the room, Nick was surprised to receive an e-mail that contained a design sketch with the Forrester Creations logo.
Thursday
Nick studied a printout of the e-mail someone sent him of a Forrester design. Jackie walked in and was impressed by the design. She assumed Clarke created it, but Nick had to correct that misunderstanding. Jackie assumed Katie carelessly left the sketch laying around but Nick explained that it was e-mailed to him anonymously. "This is our salvation," Jackie smiled, but Nick said it would take more than one dress to save Jackie M. Jackie was
distressed to learn that the bank was calling in their loans and the could lose the business. Nick then received another Forrester design via email and Nick immediately wanted to delete but Jackie stopped him. "We have to get these designs into production today," she urged but Nick insisted on finding out who sent the stolen originals.
Eric's minions lauded his latest designs. Thorne wanted to set up a
preview in order to create a buzz about the latest collection, but Eric nixed that in order to prevent any leaks that could lead to his dresses getting knocked off. Rick became miffed when Felicia blatantly disrespected him. After everyone cleared out, a hurt Felicia lashed out at her dad for siding with Rick over Stephanie. "How could you?" Felicia sniffled. After Felicia left, Thorne stopped by to carped about being down in the basement again and
how Eric keeps promoting everyone else but him. "I deserve to be at the top," Thorne raged, but Eric assured that he was depending on his son to help pull the company together. However, Thorne called Rick a "petulant little brat" and wondered if he even has a father anymore. Meanwhile, Brooke tried to talk to Stephanie about Forrester but Steph groused that she didn't recognized the company anymore because there were Logans everywhere.
Steffy visited Rick in his office and they immediately engaged in some stolen kisses. Felicia walked in and asked why Rick called for her. He said that some fabrics arrived in Long Beach and asked if she could pick them up. Felicia snarked that she wasn't "your errand girl." Steffy offered to retrieve the shipment and Rick said he would give her a ride. Meanwhile, Felicia mentioned to Ridge that Rick was driving Steffy to Long Beach and, thinking about Phoebe's unfortunate fate after riding along with Rick, Ridge bolted out of the office.
Friday
Stephanie and Brooke heard Ridge screaming for Steffy. He rushed out into the Forrester parking lot and in front of Rick's car but luckily Rick was able to stop in time. Ridge anxiously opened the passenger door and ordered "Phoebe" to get out and Steffy was concerned that he called her by her dead sister's name. As Stephanie and Brooke ran up, an overprotective Ridge held
his daughter in a tight embrace. Steffy ushered her dad back into the office. "You don't have to worry about me," she assured but he begged her to stay away from Rick. Meanwhile, Brooke tried to reason with Rick about Ridge's over reaction. After Brooke left, Stephanie showed up and warned Rick to stay away from Steffy.
"It's a windfall," Jackie purred as she gazed at another Forrester design in an anonymous e-mail. Katie unexpectedly entered and Jackie hurriedly closed the laptop. After Jackie scooted out, Nick asked questions about her work at Forrester Creations. In a roundabout way, he was fishing to determine if she could be sending the designs but Katie didn't let on to any corporate espionage. After Katie departed, Jackie returned and Nick
announced that Katie didn't steal the designs. Jackie wanted to move ahead with producing them but Nick sensed "a trap" and didn't want to do anything until they find out the identity of their mysterious benefactor. Jackie made a list of suspects, which included Owen, Felicia, Donna, Thorne, Rick, Steffy, Ridge, Brooke and still Katie. But Jackie seemed most suspicious of
Stephanie. Another e-mail arrived with a third Forrester original. "Who ever is sending these designs is going to rescue us," Jackie declared.
Eric could tell Thorne was still in a snit so Dad tried to assure Son how vital to the company he is. Despite the pep talk, Thorne complained that he felt insignificant at Forrester. Later, Eric met with Katie and they discussed Jackie M's financial woes. Eric stressed how important his newest collection is to him which puzzled Katie. Later, she wondered if Eric was questioning her loyalty.
Brooke checked on Ridge and she explained that she spoke with her son and he agreed not go anywhere near Steffy. "He damn well better not," Ridge seethed. Meanwhile, Steffy met with Rick and broke down in tears over her father's pain. "I can't do that to him," Steffy sobbed. "We have to end it." Rick calmed her down and they started kissing again.
