Monday
Stephanie was worried for Ridge, who was struggling with mourning Phoebe. "Do you think I could've done more to protect her?" he agonized. His mom assured he couldn't. Stephanie warned that Steffy is "going through" something that she shouldn't but Taylor had gotten James to help. "She's lonely and confused," Stephanie pointed out, then advised her son to go spend time with Brooke. Ridge agreed that Brooke provided a "calming effect" and left the office without Stephanie saying anything about
Rick and Steffy.
Steffy admitted to Taylor that James told her things "I need to hear." Taylor pointed out that a relationship with Rick is "impossible." Steffy agreed with her mom's concern that Ridge would go over the edge if he learned his daughter is in love with Rick. Just when it looked like Steffy was going to give up Rick, she started professing her love for him again. Stephanie arrived and Steffy declared that she wouldn't give Rick up. Grandma urged Steffy to live her life "responsibly" and that she needs to break up with Rick for Ridge's sake. "Fine!" Steffy screamed and after agreeing to end her relationship, stormed out.
Brooke questioned her son's motives involving Steffy and angrily insisted that she wouldn't turn her back on Ridge. "You're going to stop seeing Steffy Forrester, do you hear me?!" Brooke ordered. Rick got mad at his mom for siding with Ridge once again, but she reminded him of his lies and deceit in the last few months. A worried Brooke took Rick into her arms and asked, "What is going to become of you?" She didn't feel any better when Rick insisted that he and Steffy would be together. Ridge was outside the door and overheard Rick. Ridge barged in and raged, "You already took Phoebe away from me, now you want to take Steffy? That's not going to happen!"
Tuesday
Steffy admitted to Thomas that she's in love with Rick. "Are you out of your mind?!" he exploded. "Our sister is dead because of him." Steffy tried to defend Rick, which only enraged her brother even more, so she claimed that she would end the relationship.
Nick asked Katie what she thought of the designs by Madam X. "They're beautiful," she remarked then asked for the designer's identity. In keeping with their agreement not to keep secrets, Nick revealed that Madame X is Bridget. "As in your ex-wife?" Katie asked who found it hard to believe that Bridget would spend "all that time" to become a doctor then want to change careers. Katie then announced that she wanted to have a meeting with Bridget and left.
Jackie was impressed to find Bridget still at the office, toiling on her sketches. "No one deserves a second chance at happiness more than you do, Bridget," Jackie observed. Jackie then wondered how Katie will react when she finds out that her niece is working for Jackie M. Jackie went home and was sruprised to learn that Nick had confessed to Katie about Bridget. "Katie has a bit of an issue with Bridget today," Nick declared.
Katie showed up at Jackie M and confronted Bridget about her new vocation and working closely with Nick again. Bridget insisted that she has "moved on," so Katie not-so-convincingly offered her support. The gals traded catty barbs and Bridget couldn't help but wonder why her aunt was so bothered. Katie unsuccessfully to appear unruffled. "I hope it all works out," she said tersely, then left.
"So, one daughter wasn't enough, huh?" charged Ridge, who demanded to know what was going on. Rick volunteered that he and Steffy have fallen in love and Ridge immediately started chasing Rick around the room. Rick ran out of the house and jumped into a vintage car. As he was backing out of the driveway, Steffy suddenly popped up from the backseat. Rick warned that her father now knows about them and Ridge was horrified to see Steffy in Rick's car. As Rick drove off he was shocked to see that Ridge was driving wildly behind them. Brooke was with Ridge and she cautioned him to slow down but both cars started speeding along the winding road. Brooke ordered Ridge to pull over but he refused. Meanwhile, Steffy begged Rick to pull over. He then approached a curve too fast and his brakes squealed. "Steffy!" yelled Ridge.
Wednesday
Rick and Steffy's car ran off the road but they weren't hurt. As Ridge came
running up, Steffy hopped out and Rick locked his door. "Open the door,
Rick!" Ridge yelled as he beat on the car. Brooke screamed for her son to
leave and he drove off. Ridge wrapped his arms around Steffy as she assured,
"I'm fine." Ridge and Brooke took Steffy back to their house where he reeled
as his daughter admitted her love for Rick. Ridge insisted that Rick was
only romancing her for revenge but Steffy refused to believe that. Steffy
then asked Brooke for her opinion but she said she couldn't figure out her
son's motives anymore. Ridge then begged Steffy not to hurt him and she
affirmed she would break up with Rick. Ridge escorted Steffy home.
Donna was worried that Eric was working too hard. She then wanted to know
why he was letting Jackie M get away with stealing his designs. When Eric
wouldn't give a concrete answer, Donna questioned the true nature of his
relationship with Jackie and he assured that there was nothing going on
between him and Ms. Marone. Rick burst into the office and after Donna left
he told his dad, "Ridge is going to kill me." When Eric couldn't understand
the reason for Ridge's rage, Rick was forced to confess that he has fallen
in love with Steffy. Eric was incredulous as Rick admitted that he stole the
designs to help ensure a future with her. "This relationship can never be,"
Eric growled and wasn't convinced that Rick was merely trying to hurt Ridge.
Fed up, Eric announced he would call a family meeting to decide Rick's fate
with Forrester Creations.
Brooke called Rick and advised him to keep clear of Ridge by staying in a
hotel. She also warned him to stay away from Steffy. Ridge returned home and
Brooke assured him that they were successful in putting an end to their
children's affair.
Eric told Donna that Rick's relationship is "wrong on so many levels." But
Donna suggested that their feelings for each other could be real.
Meanwhile, Rick surprised Steffy in her bedroom, where she insisted that they
had to break up, but he refused to accept that and kissed her passionately.

Thursday
Ridge revealed to Brooke that Eric had called a family meeting to decide Rick's future with the company. After Ridge left, Rick showed up and Brooke blasted him for causing so much turmoil. Brooke became more upset when Rick kept proclaiming his love for Steffy. Rick put Brooke on the spot by asking if his mother would really side with Ridge over her own son but she pointed out that it was really about keeping the peace.
Stephanie was riled when she heard Steffy was in a speeding car with Rick the night before. Taylor assured that it wouldn't happen again. Ridge showed up and Stephanie admitted that she already knew that Rick and Steffy were involved. Taylor explained that's why they called in James and Steffy assured that she and Rick were over. Ridge shared that there would be a family meeting and that Rick will finally "face the consequences." After Ridge left, Steffy maintained to her mother that she is still in love with Rick and refused to believe that he's out for revenge. Still, she knew it was best to let him go. "I really thought that Rick was the right man," Steffy sighed.
Rick tried to convince his dad to cancel the meeting, but everyone showed up, curious about the agenda. Eric explained that it had to do with Rick and Stephanie right away suggested that Eric "ship the little bastard back to Paris." Thorne and Felicia were confused as to what Rick did this time. They were sickened to hear that Rick is chasing Steffy and ganged up on him as Brooke and Donna tried to defend him. Eric hushed everyone up and said what they had to decide is if they can work with Rick or not. "He will bring this company down," Ridge warned and his relatives agreed. Eric left the decision up to Brooke whether Rick "should stay or go."
Friday
"You can't let this happen" Rick implored his mother about the Forresters' determination to boot Rick out of the company. Brooke then asked to speak to Rick alone but Ridge urged, "Rick has to go." Rick and Brooke exited the room and Stephanie asked why Eric left the decision to Brooke. He said that he was simply trying to be fair while Donna said that Rick shouldn't be punished for making a mistake. Felicia suggested that Thorne be appointed president and his family agreed.
Steffy shared with Bridget that Rick may be fired from Forrester Creations because of their relationship. "He doesn't deserve to lose his job over this," Steffy lamented, then asked Bridget if she thought Rick was being a user. Bridget didn't think so but explained how she fell in love with the wrong guys before. She pointed out that Steffy only has one dad and that there will be many boyfriends to come.
In another room, Brooke tried to reason with Rick, who whined how his happiness has always been destroyed by Ridge. Rick explained that the position of president was his way of trying to reunite him and his parents as a family. Brooke pointed out that he blew that chance when he fell for Steffy, but she couldn't figure out if her son was being honest or manipulative. Rick insisted that being president is "all that I have left." Brooke recounted his lies and deceit, then announced that she was cutting him loose from the company. Ridge overheard and Brooke said she would tell the rest of the family. Ridge told Rick he wanted him out of the building in an hour. Rick warned that he will always be in Steffy's heart.
Brooke returned to Eric's office, where her in-laws anxiously awaited her decision. Observing Brooke's demeanor, Stephanie guessed that Rick is out and Brooke nodded her head. Later, she was crying when Ridge approached and assured her that she made the right decision. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart," Ridge declared to an obviously conflicted Brooke. Meanwhile, Steffy stopped by to see Rick, who revealed that he was fired.
She was shocked when he then proposed.
