B&B Week of February 25, 2008
Monday
Taylor informed Nick that she's doing a lot better. She wanted to discuss
their problems and explained that her problems began when she learned that
Brooke is the biological mother of her baby. Still, Taylor insisted that
she's Jack's mother. Nick doubted that she could properly care for the baby;
Taylor blamed Brooke for her troubles and insisted on being there for her
son. Nick wanted Taylor to take some time to think things through. She
kissed him and said that she couldn't survive a marriage when she didn't
have her husband's support. Later, Taylor absently played with one of the
baby's toys and was interrupted by Rick.
In the Forrester estate, the detectives questioned Stephanie about the
shooting. She blamed herself for getting shot and wouldn't name an
assailant. She then requested that the police put an end to the
investigation. Brooke and the Logans were shocked. Steph announced to Storm
that he's free and she forgives him. Katie and Brooke thanked her, while
Eric looked on admirably. Later, Brooke, Donna, Katie and Storm wondered why
Stephanie did what she did. Donna insisted that Eric is committed to her.
Brooke warned her not to count Stephanie out. Katie suggested that Donna let
Eric come to her and not chase after him. Donna reluctantly agreed to wait
for him, but was confidant that her future was with Eric.
Meanwhile, Eric and Stephanie shared a drink and he questioned her about her
change of heart. She explained that she wants Eric to know that she does
have a heart — and that she still loves him.
Tuesday
Brooke was appalled when Taylor announced that she was taking Jack. Nick admitted to Brooke that he doesn't know how to deal with Taylor. Brooke didn't trust Taylor with the child. She promised to be there for Nick and Jack, no matter what happened. Later, Brooke confessed that she loves Nick and Ridge. "You don't love Ridge the way you love me," Nick declared.
In the Forrester lab, Rick filled in Ashley about Taylor moving out and how he's worried about her. Ashley thought he was sweet for being so concerned about Taylor.
Ridge commended Taylor for dumping Nick and moving back in with him. Ridge noted how worried Phoebe was about her; Taylor felt guilty. Ridge questioned her about what kind of arrangement she'd made with Nick regarding baby Jack. Taylor explained that she intended to bring him home as soon as she had the house baby-proofed. Ridge admitted that he was afraid Brooke would start to bond with Jack. Taylor demanded that Ridge make sure Brooke leaves the baby
alone. Ridge believed that he and Brooke shouldn't rush into marriage;
Taylor thought that was a wise decision.
Rick paid a visit to Taylor and worried how she'd deal with the Nick and
Jack situation. Taylor explained that Brooke doesn't have any legal rights
to Jack and she's not going to just hand the baby over to her. Rick then
asked her about Nick; Taylor replied that she couldn't be with a man who was in love with another woman. Rick then asked if she could be around Jack
without thinking about Brooke. Taylor insisted that she could, but vowed to
never get into another relationship where she'd be competing for a man with Brooke. "I can think of one man where that wouldn't happen," Rick noted.
Wednesday
"Do you love me?" Nick asked Brooke, to which she answered, "I can't help
myself... I will always love you." The mood was broken when they became
concerned that Taylor was coming to get Jack. Brooke said they needed to do something to prevent that since Taylor is obviously unstable.
Rick questioned Taylor's ability to take care of a baby. She insisted that
she is doing better and is anxious to go over to Nick's house to retrieve
her son. Rick offered to come along for support, and they both showed up at
the Marone manse. Taylor was peeved to find Brooke with Nick while Brooke
was surprised to see her son accompanying Taylor. It wasn't long until both
ladies were sniping at each other and Taylor demanded to take Jack home.
Brooke and Rick went into the other room so the Marones could discuss the
matter. Once Rick and Brooke were gone, Nick tried to convince Taylor not to
take Jack out of his home, but Taylor wanted her son to be with her. "He's
everything to me," Taylor noted.
Brooke told Rick that Taylor needed psychological help. Rick defended
Taylor. "I care about her," asserted Rick but Brooke assumed it was
platonic. They heard Jack crying on the monitor and decided to go up the
back stairs to check on him. Later, they brought the baby downstairs and
Nick told Taylor she couldn't drink around their son. Brooke was upset to
hear the shrink was hitting the sauce again and Taylor blasted Nick for
blabbing such sensitive information. Taylor took Jack and left with Rick.
Brooke became frantic and begged Nick to get their son back. Nick said that
he would allow Taylor to have one night with Jack.
Stephanie invited Ashley to her anniversary party, Ash was hesitant to
accept — Stephanie talked her into coming. Steph suggested that Ashley
gave up on Ridge too soon. Ms. Abbott affirmed she had set her sights on
Rick. Stephanie pointed out that it was only a matter of time before Ridge
and Brooke's relationship self destruct. Ash agreed to be there for Ridge as
a friend and Steph pointed out that Rick is "much younger" than Ashley. "If
I want to have a walk on the wild side with Rick or anyone else, I'm damn
well going to enjoy every minute of it," Ashley declared.
Thursday
Nick told Brooke that Storm agreed to represent him in the custody hearing.
Brooke couldn't stop fretting that Jack "could be in danger" while in Taylor's care. Storm arrived and Nick explained that Taylor has been unstable. "How do we protect my son?" Nick asked but Storm wanted to know how her change in behavior came about. Brooke confessed that she is Jack's biological mother and Nick stated he wanted custody until Taylor can prove she has "pulled herself together." Nick then instructed Storm to schedule an
emergency court hearing tomorrow. Storm warned they would have to build a case against Taylor and Marone said to do so as "respectively as possible."
After Taylor put Jack down for the night, she expressed her gratitude for
Rick's support with a warm embrace. Taylor asked Rick to search the house
and make sure there is no alcohol around and he agreed, then wondered if Taylor really wanted to be Jack's mother and be connected to Brooke. Taylor insisted she loved her son and Rick started flirting with her. He also
pointed out that he was the one man in this whole world who wouldn't fall in love with Brooke (uh, you can say that now, Rick, but this is B&B). They
were interrupted when someone showed up and served a summons to Taylor to appear in court. "I can't believe he's trying to take the baby away from me," whined Taylor. She called Nick and blasted her estranged husband for his action. "I think it's too soon for you to be alone with Jack," Nick explained but Taylor screamed that this was all Brooke's doing. Taylor hung up and broke down in tears as Rick consoled her.
Phoebe was worried about her mom after hearing that she and Nick separated but Ridge assured that Taylor had a handle on her life. Felicia showed up and announced they had a "golden opportunity" to get their parents to reconcile with a moving anniversary party. Ridge told his sister to plan the party but "don't expect any miracles."
Friday
At home, Nick vowed to fight for baby Jack. Meanwhile, Taylor couldn't
understand why Nick would want to take Jack from her. She called and he
explained that he wants to do what is best for their son. Taylor insisted
that mentally and emotionally she's fine, but Nick disagreed. She stated
that she would never harm Jack and blamed Brooke for her troubles. "I'm
sorry," he said before hanging up. Taylor freaked out and began crying.
Phoebe comforted her.... At Nick's, Jackie came downstairs. She agreed that Nick didn't have a choice in fighting for custody.
Ridge paid Brooke a visit and trashed Nick for what he was doing to Taylor.
Brooke argued that Taylor is an alcoholic and isn't fit to care for the
child. Ridge didn't agree and thought Taylor would be a great mom. He
couldn't believe Brooke would support Nick. "How involved are you?" he
wondered, noting that she has an attachment to Nick and Jack. Ridge didn't believe she was ready to spend her life with him. He left and Brooke called after him.
Rick stopped by Taylor's. Phoebe was surprised to see him, but grateful to
him for being there for her mom. After, Taylor implored Rick to get Brooke to back off. Rick urged her to remain calm and focus on Jack instead of Brooke. He then promised to call Brooke and tell her to stay away from the courthouse.... Brooke and Storm arrived at Nick's. Jackie believed Brooke should be in the courtroom, but Brooke wasn't sure. She then got the call from Rick, asking her not to go. She reluctantly agreed, then filled in Nick. Storm explained that if she came to court, it could help Nick get
custody. Brooke decided to go, but made Storm promise he'd only call her to the stand if absolutely necessary.... Taylor spent some quality time with
Jack before heading off to court. She was in tears as she left him with the
babysitter.
At court, Brooke hoped she could avoid Taylor.... Rick escorted Taylor in,
and she thanked him for his support. She was shocked to see Brooke there and to learn that Storm was Nick's lawyer. Brooke tried to be sympathetic, but Taylor wouldn't accept her kind words. Brooke insisted they just wanted to do what was best for the child. "Don't you mean your child?" Taylor snapped, going into hysterics and shoving Brooke. Storm and Nick broke them up, while Rick asked Brooke why she was there. The hearing then began, but Taylor
wouldn't even let the judge make his opening statements. She just kept
screaming about how Jack is her child.
