B&B Week of December 22, 2008

Monday

Rick told Brooke he didn't think leaving town would help, but admitted he couldn't blame anyone for wanting him gone. When he reluctantly agreed to go pack, Brooke said she couldn't do it — she couldn't send him away. She would talk to Eric and Ridge and they would work something out.

Donna and Eric basked in the afterglow of making love. She decided to role play as a flight attendant. Things got serious when he mentioned his concern for how his family would take the news of their reconciliation Donna told him she understood, and he should be there for his family for Christmas. She said they had the rest of their lives to spend Christmas together.

Ridge and Stephanie discussed celebrating the holidays. He told her that he and Brooke had decided Rick would go back to work for International in Paris. Thorne came by and was plagued by thoughts of Eric telling him not to let Stephanie know about Donna. She could tell something was bothering him, but he simply said he didn't want her getting her hopes up. She assured him the holiday would be wonderful.

Ridge arrived at Brooke's. He asked if she talked to Rick, and she said she did, that Rick had agreed to leave. She didn't want Rick to go, Brooke added, and tried to convince Ridge that sending Rick away was wrong. Finally, she declared she just couldn't do it. She didn't think Rick should be alone, and couldn't ignore his pain. She promised Ridge she wouldn't have to see Rick, but insisted they couldn't send him away. She begged him to see that their love could prevail through this, and he took her in his arms.

Tuesday

The Forresters gathered in Eric and Stephanie's for a family
Christmas. Brooke joined a solemn Ridge in the living room. Ridge put his arm around Brooke. "Come, let's join the group," he said. Steffy and Thomas arrived and reported that Taylor was still "struggling." "I think your mother needs to be here tonight," Stephanie said as Ridge listened closely.
Rick showed up. "You shouldn't be here," Steffy barked. Bridget defended her brother and confirmed Rick's version of the accident. "She was attacking him. That was what made the car crash," Bridget told a wide-eyed Steffy. Stephanie confronted Eric about allowing Rick in their home. "Rick is a member of this family and that's final," Eric said. "You son-of-a-bitch," Stephanie sneered at Rick.

Brooke, Kate and Donna wondered how Taylor would get through the holidays. Donna informed Marcus that after the holidays Eric would tell Stephanie that he and Donna have reconciled. Donna couldn't wait. Nick returned with Jack,
dressed as a tiny Santa. They had delivered gifts to the hospital. Donna told Katie that she thinks Nick finally met the right match. Katie smiled. Nick, Jack and Katie all kissed under the mistletoe.

Rick wept by Phoebe's grave. "Doesn't feel much like Christmas, Phoebe," he cried. Taylor walked up behind him. "It should have been me," he sobbed. "It's all my fault.” Taylor replied, “I could think of a million reasons to blame myself.” Taylor and Rick talked. Ridge put his hand on Taylor's shoulder. Taylor didn't want to join the Forresters. Ridge tried to convince his ex that Phoebe was with the family watching them celebrate. "Come with me," he said as he took Taylor's hand. Outside of the house, Taylor had second thoughts, but soon joined the family in singing Christmas carols, accompanied by Eric on the piano.

Taylor was touched by the star Hope had made for Phoebe. The Forresters gazed up at the tree and thought of Phoebe.

Wednesday

The Forresters all looked at Phoebe's star on top of the tree. "I'm right where I belong," Taylor said. Taylor thanked Hope for the star. "I wish she could be here," the curly-hair moppet said. Taylor forced herself to stop crying. Everyone listened as Taylor remembered the joys of the Forrester family Christmas. "This really bonds us," she added. Merry Christmas everyone said. Taylor thanked Ridge for insisting she come. Thorne looked at
his father knowing that he would be dumping Stephanie right after Christmas.

"I see Phoebe everywhere," Ridge observed. Ridge took Brooke's hand when he said he was grateful for "all of you. May the miracle of Christmas give peace, love and comfort to each and every one of us." A solemn Rick watched Brooke and Ridge kiss. Outside, Rick thanked Ridge for his kind words. "I know how you feel about me," Rick said. "I could be spending my Christmas in
a jail cell instead I'm here with my family and for that I thank you," Rick added. Ridge said nothing.

Bridget read the children's letter to Santa. Taylor passed out the
stockings. Brooke smiled at Ridge and then Rick. Steffy hung her stocking next to Thomas's. Taylor grew silent as she came across Phoebe's stocking and she fell into Ridge's arms. She wiped a tear and put the stocking away. Brooke found Ridge on the veranda. She thanked him for allowing Rick to be there. Brooke told him that his inviting Taylor over "was a wonderful thing. It's no wonder I love you so much."

Taylor thanked Stephanie for being a true friend. "You are like a daughter to me," Stephanie said. "I thank God for this whole family," Taylor said. "This is what [Phoebe} would be wanting us to do," Taylor smiled. "For the first time since I lost Phoebe I'm feeling joy and not pain. Merry Christmas." Everyone hugged and sang Joy to the World.

Nick and Katie kept kissing in front of their tree. Nick had Katie sit by the tree and he presented her with a package. "You are so going to love me when you see what's inside." Then he presented her with his real gift — a gorgeous diamond ring. Katie started crying. "I'm asking you to do this happily ever after thing with me," Nick said. Nick promised to give her and Jack a happily ever after. Katie pledged her love to both father and son. "Can you build a life with me and Jack," Nick asked. Katie said yes and the two started kissing. Nick put the ring on her finger. "It fits," she said happily.

Happy Holidays! Recaps will resume Monday.

Friday

Brooke talked to Eric about Rick's fate, and they were grateful that, thanks to Ridge, Rick wouldn't be prosecuted for Phoebe's death. "It was an important first step," said Eric about Ridge allowing Rick to spend Christmas with the family. But they had to be sensitive to Ridge's feelings, too. Eric and Brooke discussed the fragility of both men, clearly worried about the conflict between them. Eric urged Brooke to talk to Ridge about how she felt, certain they'd get past this. Later, he found Stephanie and informed her he wasn't "exiling" Rick when he needed his family's support, and they'd support Ridge, too. There was plenty of support to go around! More worried for her son than Brooke's, Steph didn't agree. Elsewhere, Ridge told Brooke he was arranging Rick's trip to Paris because it's what he needs. Brooke told Ridge that a part of Rick had died the night Phoebe died and Ridge responded by saying he hated Rick for destroying a part of him. Eric told Stephanie that Ridge and Brooke would settle their issues about Rick, and there was something they had to discuss. Eric told her all about Thorne's plot and how he'd dumped Donna over it. Realization quickly dawned on Stephanie: "You're leaving me and you're going back to Donna?" Brooke asked Ridge to be stronger, but Ridge couldn't stop thinking about Phoebe. "We'll lean on each other," Brooke urged. Ridge didn't want to lose her and believed in them, but was clearly still raw. She assured him their love would never die.

Steffy arrived at the beach house, and Rick expected her to rage at him. Instead, Steffy told Rick that Bridget's tests had proved Rick's story about Phoebe going ballistic. Still, Rick felt like an outcast, like he no longer belonged here. "I'm moving to Paris immediately," he informed Steffy, telling her she could leave. Instead, Steffy stuck around, saying she didn't want him to go! "You're a mess — I can't even imagine what you'd be like in Paris!" she declared, regretting telling Phoebe of Rick's schemes. Rick, the king of self-blame, told her not to blame herself. She told him the whole family needed to take the blame and deal with this, and that Phoebe was surely in pain for how they were treating Rick. Rick pulled her into a hug and thanked her for her forgiveness. "You suffered enough," she said, tearfully, telling him to let go. "I feel your pain like I feel my own," she explained. "It's our pain." Emotional Rick kissed her forehead — and then their lips met.

Donna put on sexy lingerie for Eric, beaming over their reunion. Then, he called to tell her he missed her on Christmas and assured her he'd talk to Stephanie today. "Your Honey Bear loves you," he reminded. "I'll be waiting for you," she trilled. Later, she dabbed perfume in key spots and went to answer a knock on the door. It wasn't Eric, but Pam! Donna shrieked in terror!
