Monday
Brooke told Ridge she'd assured Katie the bogus designs were "the bomb." A bomb that could blow up both Bill and her relationship with her sister. Ridge told her it was the only way to get their company back. Steffy and Thomas then entered and they all prepped for "Grandpa's big performance." Nearby, Eric explained his plan to Donna, who agreed to stand by him. Bill walked up and Eric assured him the new collection was something to behold. Thorne led in a group of reporters. Katie and Eric publicly announced his return to the company (as Thorne sported a hilarious look of disbelief). Eric said he was taking Forrester "to the cutting edge." Later, Bill led Eric to his new office -- in Shipping with Thorne! Once alone with Thorne, Ridge, Thomas and Steffy, Eric let Thorne in on the plan. "This is professional suicide!" he gasped. Eric said it was a risk they had to take. Upstairs, Brooke and Donna struggled with keeping up the ruse and snowing Katie. Bill admitted to Katie that he thinks Eric is up to something. Back down in Thorne's office, the Forresters brainstormed and looked forward to taking the company back. Steffy suggested they name the bogus line "Dare." Ridge stressed the importance of pulling off this plan and everyone promised to do what it takes. Katie glimpsed the gang hugging through the window and her curiosity was piqued.
At Jackie M, Bridget marveled at Eric going back to Forrester and Stephanie broke in her new assistant, Sandy. "You cannot be a shrinking violet," she warned the overwhelmed surrogate. Sandy noted opportunities like this didn't happen to "unlucky" people like me. Sensing she was wary, Stephanie urged her to "relax" and "go with the flow." Steph assured her she'd fit right in with the crazies at Jackie M. Later, Nick and Bridget passed out bonuses to some employees, who hadn't expected extra cash this year. Nick wanted to do something in light of the tough times! He suggested they have Christmas at Jackie M, for the whole staff and their own family, too. Then, they talked to Stephanie about Eric returning to Forrester and pitched the idea of a Jackie M Christmas. Bridget urged a reluctant Sandy to come.
Tuesday
Brooke assured Ridge she's okay with the big Dare campaign lie, but she still has misgivings about snowing her sister. "This is about justice!" Ridge insisted. Bill was getting a manicure as Katie wondered if he was trying to stick it to Eric. She then wanted to stop thinking about business and focus on celebrating Christmas as a family. Down in Shipping, Steffy and Rick gave Eric the teaser video for the Dare line and then Eric greeted his former employees, who were glad to see him back. Bill told Eric he hoped the teaser video would "blow me out of my seat." Meanwhile, Brooke and Donna were talking about how difficult Christmas with Ridge and Eric was going to be with Bill around. When Katie rushed in to talk holidays, it got mighty awkward! Brooke and Donna explained that Katie is invited to Christmas but Bill isn't. Katie was heartbroken but determined to stand by her husband.
Eric told Steffy to come up wearing one of the Dare designs after the video presentation. Steffy opened the garment bag and boggled at the contents. Ridge, Eric and Rick showed Bill the designs, assuring him it was all new and cutting edge. "Talk is cheap. Let's see what you've got," Bill said. Cue the video and then Steffy walking in with one of the dresses on. Bill called Katie and then conveyed his shock to the guys about revisiting the '80s. Ridge likened it to Chanel saying women should wear pants instead of gowns, dubbing it "retro chic." Bill asked for Katie's opinion and Katie, too, was skeptical. Eric and Ridge continued to spin their web. "You're either following a trend or you're setting it," Eric said. "Now what do you say? Doyou Dare?" Katie turned to Brooke, who assured her she's behind these designs. Katie warily offered her support. Alone, she and Bill continued to be suspicious of the ugly line. "Bill Spencer has met his Waterloo," crowed Ridge to his family.
Wednesday
Brooke arrived home to find Ridge and Eric buried in their work. Brooke picked up a design and giggled, "Gawd-awful!" Their conversation turned to Christmas. Brooke was sad that keeping Bill away meant keeping her sister Katie away, too. Eric reassured her that their plan to regain control of Forrester was designed to put their family back together again. "This company will be yours, Ridge, I will see to it," Eric proclaimed, hugging his son. "It's your time to lead!"
At the office, Katie was stunned to hear her husband announce that he wanted to work on Christmas. Katie vetoed it, saying they would be starting a new Christmas tradition of no work! Bill asked her what type of sparkling jewelry she would like as a gift. Katie became emotional, and told him that all she wanted for Christmas was for him to give Forrester back to the Forresters. Stunned and confused, Bill asked her to explain. She said that she was sad to be excluded from Christmas because they hated him so much. Crying, she begged him to fix it. "Let Eric come back to his office and give Ridge his chance! I just want my family back!" she exclaimed. Bill responded by saying that her family's behavior was petty, and that they had already received their Christmas gift when he saved their company. He instructed her to act like a CEO. She admitted that she was having a hard time figuring out what was the right thing to do. She agreed to shake it off and continue acting in the best interests of the business. Bill was glad to hear that, because the President of the Spencer Board was waiting for a meeting. Bill ushered him in, and he congratulated them on making the Forrester acquisition a great success. He stated that the Board was very pleased with the results. "Just wait till the new line comes out ... it will knock your penny loafers off!" Bill teased. After the meeting, Bill and Katie looked at the newest designs on the computer. "This new line better be profitable," Bill growled. He called Ridge and demanded three new designs by Monday. Ridge was happy to oblige. Katie couldn't take her eyes off the designs, and wondered if such a big departure from past lines was a good idea. "Whatever they come up with, I believe that we are going to win big," predicted Bill. Katie continued to stare at the screen, unsure.
At Sandy's, Whip arrived to take a reluctant Sandy to the Jackie M. Christmas party. He said he didn't know what had caused her to be so closed off, but that getting out would be good for her. She refused, saying that she just didn't feel like celebrating Christmas this year.
Nick, Bridget and Pam were busy at Jackie M. arranging the party. They all hoped Sandy would show up. Whip arrived, announcing that Sandy wouldn't be joining them. Bridget jumped into action, asking Nick to come along to Sandy's with her. At Sandy's, Bridget looked around in surprise at her humble apartment. They begged Sandy to join them for the party. Nick explained that there were several employees who were alone at the holidays for one reason or another, and that they wanted to provide a place for everyone to come together and celebrate. To illustrate his point, Nick retrieved his guitar from the car and began playing a Christmas ditty. The ladies were tickled, and applauded. "You just keep your guitar in the trunk of your car? In case ..." Sandy trailed off. "You never know when you'll have to cajole someone into coming to a Christmas party!" Nick teased.
Back at Jackie M., Jackie was disappointed to hear that Sandy had refused to join them, and Bridget worried that Sandy was trying to shut her out of the pregnancy. Right on cue, Sandy appeared at the door, announcing that she had changed her mind. She thanked Nick and Bridget for opening their hearts to her. She and Whip exchanged smiles.
Thursday
Brooke and Ridge sat in front of their tree and a roaring fire on Christmas
Eve. Brooke said being with Ridge was like having Christmas all year long.
Thorne interrupted the mood. He was worried about Stephanie celebrating over
at Jackie M. She had told them she had other plans for Christmas that year.
"It's not going to be the same without her," Ridge said. Thorne reminded him
of how much Stephanie had lost that year. Thorne insisted they do something
right away. Brooke reminded them that Stephanie had turned down their
invitation for Christmas. Brooke liked the ornament Ridge had given her.
"Thank you for not giving up on me," Brooke added. She recalled seeing their
heart in the sand as she was on a plane planning on going to Paris. "Our
love would always bring us back to each other," she said. The two kissed and
said Merry Christmas to each other.
The party at Jackie M was in full swing. The entire company was there. "It's
all about goodwill," Nick said. Nick lead the group in Jingle Bells.
Stephanie and Pam wore their antlers with pride. They talked about their
first Christmas without their mom. Stephanie remembered Sally and toasted
her with egg nog. "Merry Christmas wherever you are," Stephanie said. Owen
gave Jackie a palm tree pendant to remind her of where it all started.
Thorne popped into the party and was delighted to see his mother having so
much fun. She told her son that her children would always be No. 1 with her.
Thorne understood.
Thorne reported to Ridge and Brooke that their mom was having a ball over at
Jackie M. Whip was glad that Nick and Bridget had talked Sandy into coming.
He wished his cousin a Merry Christmas. Jackie made a small speech and
specifically thanked Nick and everyone for the sense of family they had
found there. Stephanie thanked them for including her and told everyone that
this night was all about hope and love and peace. "Let's extend goodwill to
everyone," she said.
Jackie M opened the door and let the children meet Santa (Nick) and Mrs.
Santa (Bridget). Santa read 'Twas the night before Christmas to the
children. Stephanie told everyone they would remember this evening for a
very long long time. Stephanie took Nick's hand and wished everyone a Merry
Christmas. Everyone began singing Joy to the World.
