A distraught Katie confronted Stephen with photos from the video and accused him of shooting Stephanie. Stephen asked Katie where she got those images, and discredited them as being doctored. Donna came to his defense and Brooke remained skeptical, but Katie insisted he was guilty. Donna became insulted by Katie's accusations. Meanwhile, Stephanie was convinced it was Stephen's hand on the still image on the computer monitor. Pam asked if she was sure. Stephanie said yes because of Stephen's ring, and said she was going over to Brooke's to confront him. Eric insisted he accompany her. Soon, Stephanie and Eric arrived at Brooke's and requested a confession from Stephen to prevent things from going to trial. "Are you man enough?" Stephanie challenged. Stephen maintained his innocence as Lt. Baker arrived. Eric showed Lt. Baker the incriminating video footage. The officer rearrested Stephen for breaking into Stephanie's home earlier. Stephen asked for a moment with Brooke before he was taken to jail. He pleaded with Brooke to believe in his innocence. "I can't clear myself from a jail cell. Will you help me?" Stephen asked. "I believe you, Dad," whispered Brooke. The two hugged, as Brooke vowed to find out who framed him.
Nick welcomed Taylor home, and caught her up on all the details of Stephanie's shooting. Taylor happily spent quality time with baby Jack then put him down for a nap. Nick and Taylor snuggled and cozied up in bed together. Taylor felt guilty and thought she should go back and check on Jack, but Nick alleviated Taylor of any residual guilt about her past reluctance to bond with the child.
Pam got a call from Ann, who observed that Pam left her medicine behind in Chicago. Ann asked Pam if she shot her sister. Pam insisted she loved her sister, but acknowledged that things weren't going so well. Still suspecting the worst, Ann instructed Pam to pack up her things and her dog and return to Chicago ASAP.

Tuesday
Ashley returned to the office from a shopping spree and showed Ridge the gifts she got for baby Jack and Taylor. Ridge mentioned the gift for Taylor might hit too close to home, considering the circumstances. Ashley didn't know what he meant. Ridge realized she didn't know what happened and updated her on the egg donor mix-up. Ashley laughed at first, thinking Ridge was joking, but then realized by the look on his face that he was serious. Ashley gave Brooke points for the way she handled the crisis, calling it "remarkable." Ridge told Ashley that Brooke would never do anything to jeopardize their relationship when it came to Nick and baby Jack.
Nick proudly showed Jack around the Shady Marlin. Brooke arrived and was surprised to see Jack there. Nick said this "accidental" run-in was his way of keeping his word that they'd find a way for Brooke to be a part of Jack's life without Taylor knowing. An emotional Brooke bottle-fed Jack then left the Marlin quiet and looking very sad. Brooke returned and said she couldn't just walk away from the baby. Nick said he's willing to bury the hatchet with the Forresters if it would mean having a peaceful and happy life for Jack. Nick suggested that he and Brooke go to Taylor and Ridge, respectively, and ask that all parties involve put the past behind them for the sake of the child. Brooke agreed and the two hugged before Brooke left to tell Ridge. Brooke made her sales pitch to Ridge, who kept trying to beg off the subject, insisting they had already discussed it and came to an agreement about it. Brooke remained undaunted, and made an impassioned plea for Ridge to allow the four adults to have a positive relationship with each other — and with baby Jack.
Wednesday
At Forrester, Felicia and Ashley hashed over the whole Ridge/Brooke/Nick/Taylor situation. Nick brought baby Jack back from the Marlin, and was surprised to see Taylor going through files from work. Taylor surprised Nick by telling him of her intention to return to work on Tuesday. The two debated what is in the best interest of the baby, but Nick came to terms with Taylor's desire and need to keep working. When the subject of having a christening party for Jack came up, Nick asked Taylor how she'd feel about inviting Brooke and Ridge and their kids. Nick said he wants to make it clear to his son that he doesn't hate anyone (i.e. Ridge). Taylor questioned whether Nick's offer to hang with Ridge and Brooke had more to do with Brooke than Ridge. Nick said he didn't see any harm in letting Jack see Brooke once in a while. Taylor firmly said she doesn't want Brooke involved in their lives any more than she has to be. Nick apologized for bringing up the subject, and Taylor put Jack to bed.
Meanwhile, Ridge remained annoyed at Brooke for re-opening the baby Jack issue. She persisted and asked if there isn't a way all four adults can get along. Ridge warned Brooke that her grand plans will cause Taylor much grief, and he suggested she back away from the baby completely. Ridge and Brooke argued whether Ridge might have insecurities about Brooke being around Nick. Ridge asked why Brooke simply couldn't accept and respect his "No," and referenced his discussion with Ashley. Brooke called Ridge on his apparent hypocrisy: Why is it okay for him to talk about the intimate details of their relationship with his ex-fiancée, but he doesn't want her speaking with Nick? Ridge apologized for confiding in Ashley. He pointed out that they keep messing things up soon after they reconcile each time, and suggested that they work hard to avoid having history repeat itself.
A defeated Brooke and Nick arranged to meet on the Marlin to compare notes. Brooke admitted trying to convince Ridge was a bust. Nick tried to tell Brooke it's not wrong for her to see Jack, but Brooke said they need to keep separate. "There can be no more photos, updates, or involvement of any kind," declared Brooke. "I can't see Jack any more. Somehow I have to get over knowing that he is our son. It breaks my heart, but I have to let him go," cried Brooke, as Nick wiped the tears from her face and hugged her while she cried on his shoulder. At the Marina, Ashley walked along the pier and spotted Nick and Brooke in an embrace aboard the Marlin.
Thursday
At her lab, Ashley flashed back to her moment on the docks witnessing Brooke and Nick's embrace on the Marlin. Ashley told Felicia what she had witnessed. A shocked Felicia wondered if Ridge would find out. Ashley said she's willing to cut Brooke some slack for everything she's gone through, but vowed to rat her out to Ridge if she continues to see Nick. Felicia agreed with Ashley's position.
Stephanie told Thorne she had hoped Eric would have come to his senses about Donna by now. Thorne replied that Eric told him he really cares about Donna. Both were pleasantly surprised to see Eric stop by for a visit. Eric asked Stephanie how she made out at the doctor's office. Stephanie asked why he cares. Eric said if his concern upsets her he won't ask. Stephanie said she does care, and in front of Thorne admitted she's not too proud to beg and ask Eric to come back on any terms — even if it means not staying in the same bed. Thorne excused himself so Stephanie and Eric could talk privately. Eric tried to explain to Stephanie that he has already decided to move on with Donna. Stephanie asked how he could do that and still legitimately claim to care about her. Eric said she can't fault the entire Logan family for what Stephen did to her. Stephanie was insulted when Eric drew a parallel between her and Stephen. "You can't compare me to him — that man is a lunatic!" Stephanie seethed.
At the police station, Lt. Baker and Charlie showed Brooke and Storm the image of Stephen's hand holding the gun that shot Stephanie. Storm tried to discredit the evidence. "My father will be found innocent — I'll make sure of that," he declared. They pressed for bail but Lt. Baker said no because Stephen violated the terms of his previous bail by breaking into Stephanie's house. Katie, Donna and Brooke surprised Storm with a birthday party, which was somewhat spoiled when Katie and Storm debated their father's innocence. Everyone resolved to put their father's case behind them for the night and enjoy Storm's birthday. That lasted about six seconds, however, as they then began to argue over the video footage allegedly showing Stephen shooting Stephanie. In the middle of their discussion the lights went out. Even in the dark, however, they continued their debate over Stephen. They stopped bickering and presented Storm with his birthday cake, but Storm said he was too upset over Dad to celebrate. At their urging, Storm blew out the candles on his cake and told his sisters how nice it was for all of them to be there together. Donna suggested they stop arguing. Brooke agreed, and Storm suggested they dig in to the cake. Storm reflected on his relationship with their father and how glad he was to be able to move past his past resentments and bury the hatchet with Stephen. He expressed his hope to come through for his family again and get their father acquitted. Later on, Brooke looked through Storm's high school yearbooks. Brooke noted a photo of Storm from his water polo team, in which he was wearing his class ring — one that reminded her of their father's ring (which had supposedly identified him in the incriminating video footage of the hand pulling the trigger of the gun used to shoot Stephanie).
Friday
Brooke recognized Storm's class ring while she was flipping through his high school yearbook, and he saw the terror in her eyes. Storm pointed out that since he and their father played the same sport, they had the same class ring. (Storm is no dummy. He knew where Brooke was going in her head.) He wouldn't let Brooke go upstairs. A nervous Brooke told her brother he doesn't owe her any explanations. "I want to explain. I need you to listen," Storm insisted, as thunder and lightening cracked overhead. He shared that he wanted to be a goalkeeper in water polo like their father had been. Storm remembered thinking that if Steven had come see him play just once, he would have forgiven him for the years of neglect. "I remember looking up, hoping to catch a glimpse of him," he recalled as he looked out the window at the pouring rain. "I kept hoping Dad would come home and we would go out for pizza just like all the other families, but he never came home. Never even wrote me back," Storm said, wiping a tear from his eye. He added that he never considered himself good enough as the man of the family. Brooke assured him that he "was our rock." Storm tried to change the subject, but it was clear to Brooke that Storm was holding on to a lot of resentment regarding their father. She asked if Storm had thrown away the ring. "Actually, I kept it. I didn't forget what he did to us." Storm showed Brooke that he wears the water polo ring around his neck. "You've had that this whole time?" Brooke marveled. "I never knew." Storm walked closer to Brooke and guessed that she suspects him of shooting Stephanie. "Is that what you really think? Do you think I could be that diabolical? That deranged? Answer me, Brooke!" he demanded as thunder crashed outside.
Taylor looked lovingly at her baby but then began crying. Nick entered and asked what was wrong. "It's so stupid," she sobbed. Taylor recounted her perfect moment with baby Jack. It was an idyllic afternoon until she noticed that Jack's hair was going to be "light blond, like Brooke's." "Honey, I'm blond," Nick reminded her. No matter, Taylor said that moment was poisoned because of Brooke. "I feel like I can never have a normal moment with my baby," Taylor said as she continued to sob. Nick put the child back in Taylor's arms, and he reminded her of all the hopes and dreams they had before Jack was born. Taylor hugged the baby. "Our job is to make this boy feel safe. He's who we are," he said tenderly. Taylor began to nurse the baby and a smile crossed her face. "You are right," she said.
Donna visited her father in prison. He was clearly delighted to see her. She brought some birthday cake from Storm's party. At the mention of Storm's birthday, Steven tensed up. "I completely forgot that it was today. It takes a lousy father who forgets his son's birthday. I don't know what I'd do without him," he said. Steven remembered the incident that Storm told Brooke about. "Why weren't you there, Dad?" Donna asked. "Why didn't you come back to us?" "I felt that if I did come home, I'd just disappoint everyone again," Steven explained, his voice full of regret. Donna said that when Storm gets him out of prison, "We'll make up for lost time." She assured her father that Storm would find who shot Stephanie.
