I don't care for Eden either. I do like river though. Maybe cause I was a big fan of Family ties. I sure in the near fuure there will be a big love story with Eden and Noah. I wish the younger Noah was still there.

I totally agree. It is sooo sad that Y&R has deteriorated the way it has. Eden is akin to fingernails on a chalkboard. It's the predictable, boorrring, angry teen railing against the adults (except daddy River), getting into trouble, running away, etc. etc. etc. Gloria and Jeffery -- both slithery and distasteful! Don't like the nuBilly at all. Never did like Phyllis. Don't like Sharon with Jack. Would like Amber gone yesterday. I fast-forward so much, I wonder why I record it. I go way back with this soap and cannot believe what has happened to it. It used to be really, really good. What are they doing???

Sorry but I couldn't disagree with you more, the only problem I have right now is that there are to many story lines in works, they need to start tying them together. I agree with about Eden, and Sharon and Jack but the rest, sorry.I think once they start tying things together you might come back to liking the show again, at least I hope so.

I have only been watching since New Years day and I fell in love with it but I have been finding it very bland and dry these past two weeks. I always FF through the Winters then only thing I can really watch is Chole/Cane/Billy Gloria/Jeff and Sharon/Nick/Phyliss the rest is ehh

Since you are new to the Y & R. there is a lot of history you don't know about. Might I suggest you find a web site or something to do a little catching up it would help you a lot. As for the new Billy, if you had know the original Billy played by a different actor you would probably see how very much alike the two are in character so when they cast him they did a good job. I know some of the character you have named that you don't like have some history and if you found out more about that it just might change your mind. This show has been on for over 25 years so there is a lot to know about some of the original characters and some that have come in along the way, like Phylis who has quite the past, Sharon and Nick the same.So please don't be to quick to judge the show just yet. Learn more about the history and just maybe things will come together for you and you understand and enjoy the show more.Any questions there are enough of us on line that have been watching the show for along time and would be happy to fill in some of the blanks.

Soapwatcher. Like all good soaps the yebb and flow. Y&R has been the #1 soap for a reason. TPTB tend to pull the stories that aren't working pretty quickly, kinda like when they have someone one the show that can't act( not mentioning ANY names, YOU KNOW who you are btw)Part of the great things about soaps is the amount of stories that they can juggle. Some stories that are working get the air time so that the writers can rework what isn't working. No I don't think that Y&R is unwatchable at all. The Abbott family is back after more or less being killed off one by one. Eden is a younger version of Micheal when he 1st got to the show. He was just as bad if not worse than Eden. totally full of himself as the new hot shot lawyer in town. The Chloe story is building mainly cause at the moment there are far too many people that know her "secret", plus add in the fact that Kate/Chloe is Esther's daughter was a very well thought out plot establishing her ties to the Chanchallor family, and drawing them into the story. This also explains way Chloe is acting as crazy as she does. Making Billy the baby daddy brings him into conflict with his older bro that he is obviously Very jealious of So I don't know why you think the stories are boring far from it......I don't know many soaps these days that are able to tie all of the stories together and make them flow as smoothly. The teens won't really dominate the storyline because really there are only Noah and Eden on the canvas. Not saying that Y&R is perfect, but at least the soap is trying. The Sabrina story was the big snooze but it has spiraled off several other stories. Now with the Glo Jeffery story heating up and Billy about to do everything that he can to make Cane look bad, as well as the fact that it is obvious that Billy is gonna make a play for Lily at some point in the near furure just adds to the mix. I wholey suggest that you give Y&R a chance.......You may be missing something

What she has given you is a general history there is much more but to lengthy to put on this blog. But might I suggest you keep an open mind and what between the lines and I think you will grow to love this show as much as we do. We both have been watching it pretty much since it's inception and trust me there is a lot of history and a lot of it is coming to light right now with the scattered story lines. But they are starting to pull them together and creating some new ones as well which will keep the grey matter active. So please don't give up on this one yet.
