ANTHONY GEARY WRAPS AT GH

Anthony geary

On June 23, Anthony Geary (Luke) taped his final scenes at GH, capping off a record-setting seven Daytime Emmy-winning run that commenced in 1978. (His on-screen exit will air in July.) The cast and crew toasted Geary with an on-set party that included a tribute video with messages from his co-workers (including Genie Francis, Laura), and he delivered a teary-eyed speech, telling his co-workers that if he were ever to return, it would be for the people. Finola Hughes (Anna, who is on leave from the show) and Ian Buchanan (ex-Duke) were among the celebrants. On social media, past and present GH-ers expressed their fondness for Geary. "To the legend Tony Geary not just a great actor but a great guy and I'm proud to call him my friend," tweeted Maurice Benard (Sonny). "Today is Tony's last tape day on GH. Sadly I won't be there for the goodbye . My day at Y&R is too complex. But I'll be there in spirit," tweeted Tristan Rogers (ex-Robert; Colin, Y&R). Greg Vaughan (Eric, DAYS, who played Luke's son, Lucky) posted on Instagram, "Mr. Tony Geary, as one of the many whom adore you, your mark is untouchable! It was a privilege & honor to share the stage beside you as a peer, you as my mentor, and my dear friend, but to portray your son in the 21st decade [sic] of GH, I will always cherish the memories we created & proud to see you riding off into the the sunset! Yours truly, Cowboy." "#TonyGeary = #MAGIC that is all…," tweeted Michelle Stafford (Nina). "It was a very moving farewell to a soap opera legend! I'll always remember my start on #GH with #TonyGeary fondly!" Kathleen Gati (Obrecht) wrote on Twitter.
