AMC Week of September 22, 2008
Monday
Frank, Taylor and their platoon buddies enjoyed their reunion at The Comeback. Randi showed up and Frank introduced her to his friends as his girlfriend. Randi admitted that she hated the idea of him going back to Iraq despite his vows to return to her. He tried to soothe her and they shared a sweet kiss. Taylor and Randi discussed Randi's resistance to Frank's re-enlistment. Taylor opined that Randi needed to support Frank despite her own misgivings. Randi beat a hasty retreat and Frank was upset when Taylor shared that she'd gone home. Frank decided to go after her. Taylor was worried that Frank was too distracted by Randi to be safe in Iraq and warned Frank that Randi wanted to talk him out of leaving. Taylor lost her temper when Frank hinted at what happened a year ago that day. One of their buddies intervened and told them to cool down.... As he drove to see Randi, Frank got pulled over by a cop.
Jake picked Amanda up at work as the storm began to rage outside. They smooched but Jake pulled away when he spied an unconscious Peter. Jake worked frantically to revive Pete, who had been struck by lightning. Opal came to the Chandler mansion during the storm looking for Pete. She was freaked out because the tarot cards indicated that something was wrong with her son. Amanda called Opal with the news about Pete.... Pete had a dream in which he was Lightning Boy, Colby's here. When he woke up, Colby was standing at his bedside, followed by Opal, Jake and Amanda. Jake assured Pete that he would make a full recovery. Pete felt like a changed man and asked Colby if she could tell, too. She said that he seemed more confident. "Exactly!" he exulted. She left; Pete grinned and thought about his good fortune.... Jake and Amanda went to The Comeback after he tended to Petey and they saw Taylor partying with her army buddies. Taylor shed a tear and shattered a glass as she thought about the explosion that killed Brot. She ran off; Jake took off after her and found her flipping out in the back. He tried to talk her down. "Don't you understand," she sobbed, "it won't be okay until I go back there." She made reference to needing to go back in order "to be with him." Jake and Amanda returned to the yacht and Taylor hid in the back. Amanda tried to get Jake to tell her what the big deal was about Taylor.
Adam tried to calm a panicked Erica during the storm. When the power came back on, Adam began to call Jack, claiming he knew it was what Erica wanted him to do. She denied him and made him hang up, insisting that she was through with Jack. Adam accused Erica of wanting him (Adam); she pooh-poohed the idea. He called Erica out on always needing a man in her life. "That's not true," she scoffed. He wasn't convinced. La Kane stopped Adam from planting a steamy kiss on her and sent him on his way.... Adam went to see Pete and Pete assured him that he sabotaged the Bella shipment before the lightning struck. Opal walked in and told Adam that she knew what he was up to. She accused Adam of playing with Erica's heart.
Kendall returned home to Zach, who was sitting in the darkened living room. He said he was going to bed but she stopped him to admit that she's not happy. "And neither are you," she added. He confirmed it and again implored her to butt out of everyone else's lives and focus on their marriage. She expressed confusion as to how they ended up in this place. Another argument ensued between them over her seeming inability to let go of Ryan. Zach
excused himself when a worked-up Erica came to see Kendall to complain about Adam.
Tuesday
Angie and Randi rushed to the hospital, where Frank had been released following his drunk driving arrest. A court date would be scheduled soon, Jesse informed him. Jesse railed at his son for the stupid mistake he made.... Angie and Randi squabbled in the lobby over Angie's assumption that Randi was somehow responsible for Frank's woes. Angie apologized when Randi set the record straight. Jesse and Angie grilled Frank about what had prompted him to drink and drive. Frank stormed off and Angie opined to Jesse that perhaps Frank would be safer in jail than at war. Angie became fed up when another hang-up call came through on Jesse's cell phone. She didn't buy Jesse's claim that he didn't know the identity of the caller and angrily pressed him to be honest with her. She admitted to feeling like she was on the verge of losing her family again and he tried to console her. Once alone, Jesse told the caller not to call him anymore because his wife was getting freaked out.
After a brief meeting with Pete, Adam flung open the door to find Tad and Krystal there. JR and Babe came into the foyer and announced their engagement to the trio. Fresh off an encounter with a newly-confident Pete, Colby entered and congratulated JR and Babe on their big news. JR asked Adam for his opinion (or insults). "Congratulations," said Adam. "I've never been more thrilled." JR didn't quite know what to make of Adam's reaction and accused him of faking his joy. JR called Adam out on wanting to take Fusion away from Babe. Krystal and Little Adam returned to the parlor and Adam declared his desire to throw JR and Babe an engagement party.
Greenlee frolicked in bed with Aidan. She told her hubby that she was going back to Fusion, without sharing the details of her Ryan-related conversation with Kendall. Later, Tad and Aidan discussed Jesse's phone records at BJ's.
Tad didn't want to consider the possibility that Aidan raised (that Jesse might be cheating on Angie).... Tad arrived at the station in time to hear Jesse telling someone on the phone that he loved them, too.
At Fusion, Amanda told Kendall about Pete having been struck by lightning.
Amanda was fretful about some seemingly damaged bottles of Bella in the shipment. Babe came in with her engagement news and received congrats from Randi, Amanda and a less-than-thrilled Kendall. Greens entered and privately told Kendall that she intended to keep their professional and personal lives separate. Frank came by to see Randi and insisted on speaking to her privately; Kendall gave her assent. Greens and Kendall squabbled about her decision to involve Erica in their business and Greens was overjoyed when Aidan surprised her with two tickets to leave immediately on their belated honeymoon.... Frank apologized to Randi for bringing her to meet her platoon buddies and said he wanted to be with her always. "I'm falling in love with you," he told her.... At Fusion, Pete skulked around, then called Adam with the news that the tainted Bella was being shipped as they had planned....
Babe gave Greens some tainted Bella to take with her on her honeymoon; Pete tried to conceal his alarm.
Wednesday
Greenlee and Aidan kicked off their honeymoon. She summoned a makeup artist, much to Aidan's chagrin. Greens surprised Aidan with the artist's handiwork: a sonnet painted across her body. They made love. Greens spilled the bottle of Bella all over her clothes but Aidan remarked that she didn't need clothes and pulled her back into bed. Greens suddenly became ill. In her tainted-by-Bella condition, Greens declared that she wanted to have Ryan's baby.
At the Chandler mansion, preparations got underway for Babe and JR's engagement party. Krystal warned Adam to be on his best behavior. Carmen told Krystal she could tell that she was over Adam. Colby assured Krystal that she had no interest in drinking. Babe told Krystal how happy she and JR were. On the patio, Babe encountered Annie, who thought about her near-murder of Greenlee while pontificating to Babe that perhaps she, not Richie, was responsible for the bad things that have happened to her.
At The Comeback, JR and Tad shot pool and talked about JR's engagement. Tad was distracted by concern about Jesse's possible extramarital affair. JR returned home and made out with Babe until Adam interrupted. He expressed his misgivings about JR and Babe's latest attempt at matrimonial bliss, irking JR, but Babe was kind to Adam, which seemed to poke at Adam's conscience.
Ryan thought about learning of Annie's miscarriage and met up with Emma at the park. Ryan brought Emma home and had an awkward encounter with Annie.
At the police station, Angie was still focused on how to stop Frank from going back to Iraq and Jesse was still focused on keeping her from focusing on the mysterious hang-up phone calls. At The Comeback, Tad confided in Krystal about the possibility that Jesse was cheating on Angie; she was flabbergasted.
The tension between Zach and Kendall was not lost on Erica, who asked Zach what was up. He deflected her questions. Kendall tried to convince La Kane to come to the engagement party in order to get the goods on Adam. Erica was reluctant. Kendall wondered if Erica was falling for Adam again, a notion at which La Kane scoffed. Adam called to personally ask Erica to co-host the party with him.
The people of Pine Valley gathered at the mansion to celebrate Babe and JR's impending nuptials. Colby tried to sidestep a persistent Pete. Ryan made a surprise appearance with his daughter. Kendall and Zach continued to snark at each other. Carmen opened the door to Frank and Randi; Randi told Frank that she's known Carmen since foster care. When Erica arrived, she found Pete and Adam together in the study. Erica asked why they were talking about Greenlee; Adam claimed that Greens had taken a liking to him and asked Erica if she was jealous. Pete caught up with Colby on the patio and planted a kiss on her that left her breathless. He tripped on his way back into the house. Randi confided in Carmen that Frank says he's falling in love with her. Carmen asked Randi if she was a virgin. Randi admitted to Carmen that she'd been a hooker. Angie told Frank that Randi was lovely; he was encouraged by his mom's less icy attitude toward the girl.
JR proposed a heartfelt toast to Babe and got down on one knee to propose to her in front of everyone. JR was upset to find the ring missing. Ryan went upstairs and poked around, looking for it; he found the gun under Annie's bed instead. Little Adam began choking on the ring.
Thursday
Aidan reeled from Greenlee's comment that she wanted to have Ryan's baby. (Greens was suffering from the effects of the tainted Bella perfume.) A doctor examined Greens and told Aidan that she would feel better in the morning with proper rest and fluids. Greens was upset when she realized what she'd said to Aidan. Aidan had a waking nightmare in which Greens told him she still loved Ryan and he imagined walking out on her. Next, he fantasized
about Greenlee assuring him that she's over Ryan and telling him that she wanted kids, after all. Greens woke up from a nightmare in which Aidan demanded that she admit she still loves Ryan. She was relieved that Aidan was still there and threw her arms around him. She tried to explain to Aidan why Ryan's name had popped out of her mouth. Aidan told Greens that he was grateful for her history with Ryan because it had made her the woman he loves. They made love, but Greenlee remained pensive...
At the Chandler manse, Annie rushed to Little Adan's rescue when he nearly choked to death on the engagement ring JR intended to proffer to Babe. She successfully saved the boy's life.
Kendall and Zach squabbled when she reacted badly to JR's gratitude toward Annie. Kendall was sure Annie only saved the boy to appear heroic. Erica entered the study and joined Zach in railing at Kendall's behavior. Zach stormed out. Carmen complimented Frank to Randi as Frank examined Little A. JR thanked the revelers for their concern for his son and the celebration resumed. Annie went outside and Adam joined her on the patio to laud her for saving Little Adam. Ryan entered and confronted Annie about the gun he'd found in her bedroom. Annie feigned shock; he didn't buy it. Kendall, Zach and Erica came outside and Zach pointed out that the gun wasn't loaded, but this didn't quell Ryan's anger. Annie flashed back to putting the gun under
the bed and was surprised when Adam claimed ownership of the gun and responsibility for its whereabouts. He tried to convince the group that he'd placed guns all over the house when the Satin Slayer was on the loose.... Pete tried to comfort Colby, who was shaken over Little Adam's near-death experience.... Jesse showed up at the party and was greeted by a suspicious Tad, who asked him point-blank if he was having an affair. Jesse denied it but acknowledged that a woman from his past was still holding on. "I don't
have the heart to tell Angela there was someone else," Jesse explained. Tad warned him that he might not have a choice.... Ryan told Annie that he was taking Emma home with him. JR and Babe threatened Adam to remove all weapons from the house or they would leave with their son ond never return.... Tad and Krystal chatted about Jesse and Angie and Tad said it was best that moving forward, they stay out of the Hubbards' issues.... Frank (with help
from an off-camera Jake) arranged for a romantic candelight dinner for Randi on the Fusion rooftop. They started making out but she pulled back. He told her that he loves her. "I'm afraid of letting you down," she admitted,
reminding him that she had sex for money but knows nothing about making love.... Adam called Annie out about having put the gun under the bed herself. He said he took the fall to pay her back for saving Little Adam's life. Annie tried to blame Kendall for the gun being in her room. Adam
thought that the more distracted Kendall was, the better it would be for their plan to snatch Fusion from her. Erica walked in just in time to overhear the tail end of his remark. "What about Fusion?" she asked. He tried to play it off; Annie jumped in to support Adam's lie.... Babe and JR
shared a close moment on the patio, overjoyed that their son was okay and that they had each other. He formally proposed to her again. Crying, she accepted.
Ryan, Kendall and Zach went to the Slater home. Kendall beseeched Ryan to sue for custody. After Ryan left, Kendall told Zach that she was now able to see that her meddling wasn't doing anyone any good.... Ryan snuggled with a sleeping Emma in her room at the Chandler manse and assured her that he would never let her go. Annie found Ryan trying to leave the house with Emma. JR and Babe rushed in and tried to stop Ryan but he ordered them away.
Angie returned home to find Jesse on the couch. She filled him in on what she'd missed at the engagement party but he had more pressing matters on his mind. He invited her to sit down and told him he wanted to talk about the time he was gone. "There was someone else," he divulged. "She's the one that's been calling and hanging up." Angie wanted to know what the woman was after. Jesse said she wanted him back but he'd told her that wasn't going to happen. Angie told Jesse she could handle whatever came their way as long as he was honest with her, which he promised to be.
Friday
Aidan and Greenlee returned early from their honeymoon and he dropped her off at Fusion. Jake, who was there dropping off Amanda, left with Aidan....
Amanda was psyched about the projected sales of Bella... All the ladies were curious about Greenlee's surprise presence. Pete was piqued when Greens mentioned that she'd gotten sick after spilling Bella all over her stuff.
When pressed by Kendall, Greenlee confessed to Kendall that she'd feverishly told Aidan that she wanted a baby with Ryan. She told Kendall not to make a big deal over what she cast as nothing.... Amanda agreed to be Babe's maid of honor.... Pete took the call from the doctor who confirmed that Greens had suffered an allergic reaction to something topical (the perfume, Pete knew). When he bolted shortly thereafter, Kendall was suspicious.
At the penthouse, Ryan tried to explain to Emma why he'd taken her from the mansion (and Mommy). Emma said she wanted to move back into the penthouse with her parents and asked if they still love each other. Ryan did his best to explain the situation to the tot. Kendall dispatched Babe to the house to see if she could get any info on Pete and Adam's odd alliance. Babe tried to eavesdrop as Adam and Pete were plotting their next move....
At The Comeback, Angie told Tad about the confession Jesse had made to her about the woman he'd been involved with during his time away from Pine Valley. Tad then relayed the good news to Krystal (the good news being that Jesse was not currently having an affair). Aidan came to see Tad and was happy to hear that Jesse's not cheating. Krystal lovingly accused Tad of missing his detective work. He denied her claim that he was a bit bored.... Aidan came back to Fusion and Kendall pressed him about his honeymoon. He brushed her off.
At the station, Frank (with Randi on his arm) delivered the news to Jesse and Angie that the judge had given him six months probation, a suspended license and community service, and his redeployment had been suspended.
Angie thought this was great news; Taylor, who was standing nearby, was glum about the news. Angie and Taylor got into another impassioned argument about their dissenting opinions about Frank returning to Iraq. Taylor told Angie she was sorry if she had come across as glorifying combat. Taylor left and Jesse chastised Angie for not respecting that Frank was an adult, respecting his choices. Frank went to the hospital and caught up with Jake. Taylor told Jake that she was at the hospital for a required appointment with a psychiatrist. Jake reminded her that she would need to be honest in the session. "Why wouldn't I be?" she shrugged. Taylor was, however, privately worried about her shaking hands and of appearing to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. She asked Frank if he would give her something to quell the shaking.
Annie woke up with a start to find a concerned Babe standing over her on the patio. Annie was shaken about the events of the previous evening (Ryan taking Emma out of the mansion). Off advice from Adam about fighting for her child, Annie went to see Ryan, but he wouldn't relinquish his daughter, insisting that Emma stay with him until he was convinced that the girl was safe with Annie. Dejected, Annie went to work, where her co-workers listened with interest to the news that Ryan had taken Emma. Kendall barked that Ryan had good reason to. Greens was more mild in her response, noting that Ryan was a good dad and would keep Emma safe. Annie snapped that she was perfectly capable of keeping her daughter safe. Though Greens told Kendall not to push her in Ryan's direction, Greenlee did end up going to see Ryan to warn her to return Emma to Annie before things "get out of control." "I can't do that," Ryan responded.... Annie went to see Jesse regarding Ryan and Emma. Next, Jesse showed up at the penthouse with Annie and a social worker in tow and demanded that Ryan let him in. Greens beseeched Ryan to comply but Emma made the decision for Ryan, calling out when she heard her mom's voice in the hallway and rushing to her. Jesse told Ryan that if he returned Emma, all would be well. Ryan still refused. Jesse ended up arresting Ryan and when an upset Greens lunged for Annie, she snapped that she'd have Greens arrested, too.
