AMC Week of September 14, 2009
Monday
Angie gave Frank a pep talk before his meeting with the hospital board. He was testy because of his marital problems, he acknowledged. Jesse, meanwhile, sat down with Randi at ConFusion; she said that she was filing for divorce. Jesse tried to talk her out of it. When Madison arrived, she and Jesse had words about her night with Frankie. "You keep messing with my family, I will end it," he warned.... Angie and Frankie celebrated after his successful meeting with the board. Randi showed up and Angie made herself scarce. Frank told Randi that he'd been reinstated at the hospital. She suggested that they get a divorce. He was floored and upset. Before long, they fell into each other's arms. Randi left and Madison arrived to see Frank. He tried to get rid of her but she continued to press him to get her money in exchange for her silence. Frank told Madison that his marriage was back on track. Madison spat that no one had ever loved her. She fingered a blunt object.... Jesse and Angie discussed Frank and Randi at ConFusion. Jesse told Angie that he had threatened Madison. Angie wondered if Jesse had pushed her hard enough, making it clear that she wanted the woman out of their lives.
At the Chandler manse, a brewing storm made Adam think of the night of Stuart's murder. Annie urged him not to think about it.
Kendall listened in to Zach and Liza's conversation when Liza brought Emma over to the Slaters. Spike saw Kendall and nearly revealed Kendall's presence to Liza. Zach excused himself to go tell Kendall to stop interfering, then returned downstairs, where Liza had failed to convince Emma to go see Annie at the Chandler mansion. Zach promised that he would protect Emma if she went to the scary house and she relented. Zach phoned Annie, who took the call privately. Zach said he was coming over with Emma. He left Liza with Ian and Spike. Spike ran off again and saw Kendall. Kendall hid before Liza caught up to Spike. Colby arrived and blasted Liza for allowing Emma to see Annie.... Annie got Adam to agree to go upstairs and rest. Zach arrived with Emma; Annie was elated to see her. The little girl became frightened to be at the mansion during a storm. Zach insisted on staying. Adam then came downstairs and pulled Zach inside, suspicious of his motives for bringing Emma by. Emma told Annie that Annie can get Kendall out of jail; Annie tried to change the subject and to convince the little girl that what had happened that night with the gun was just an accident. Adam spoke to Zach about Stuart's murder, clearly haunted and tormented by his brother's fall.... Colby and Liza searched frantically for Spike as Liza came dangerously close to discovering the secret room.... Zach overheard Emma promising Annie not to tell anyone about "the accident."
Tuesday
At Fusion, Erica told the troops that she was going to raise a million dollars for the starving children of Africa with a charity dance marathon. Ryan was her partner in the effort. Brot came by and Natalia tried to block his efforts to volunteer. Brot and Natalia were happy to hear that Randi and Frankie were back on track.... Erica told Ryan that he had given her the strength to believe in herself again.
JR and Marissa enjoyed the home-cooked meal she had prepared. He assured her that he was going to beat his cancer. They had to cut their passionate kissing session short when David called to summon Marissa back to Wildwind, leaving JR crestfallen.
A worked-up Madison attacked Frank with a blunt object and he reinjured his hand. He begged for mercy when she nearly struck him again. She thought back to the night of North's murder and ran off. Frank saw Angie and Jesse and warned them that Madison had lost her mind. Angie urged Frank to let Jesse take care of Madison while Frank tended to Randi. Jesse and Angie agreed that Madison was becoming increasingly dangerous. As they discussed Madison's attack on Frankie, Jesse began to suspect that Madison may have killed Henry.... Frank returned home and he and Randi made love.... Madison was hiding out at Fusion.
Liza nearly discovered the secret room as Kendall worked to keep Spike quiet. Colby was panicked about their inability to find the boy. Kendall had Spike pretend to play hide and seek and Colby found him.
Zach overheard Annie referring to "the accident" that happened on the night of the murder. He revealed himself and told Emma that it was time to leave. She got scared when the lights went off and Scott interrupted an increasingly heated moment between the adults, including Adam. Zach left with Emma. Adam told Scott that Zach had been giving Emma the third degree. Annie defended Zach and Adam agreed to change the subject. Scott and Annie then had a tense conversation of their own in which she once again defended her love for his uncle. Annie went upstairs to discuss the wedding with Adam, who was distracted, while Scott was distracted by thoughts of Annie. Adam told Annie that he couldn't get his mind off the night of Stuart's death.
Zach brought Emma back to the house and Colby berated him for involving her in the scheme. Liza tried to get Emma to talk to her about the night of the murder but she refused, threatening to spill the beans to Ryan about the unauthorized visit to Annie if Liza didn't cooperate. Colby left with Emma. Kendall listened as Liza and Zach discussed what had happened at the mansion. Kendall returned to the secret room and thought about Zach. She made a noise, which Liza went to investigate. Zach tried to convince her that nothing odd was afoot.
Scott bumped into an upset Marissa at ConFusion. Scott had reached the conclusion that JR was drinking again. Marissa told Scott that she's falling in love with JR. She broke down crying in Scott's arms and when an arriving JR spotted them, he reached the wrong conclusion.
Ryan returned home and Colby covered her illicit baby-sitting activities. When Ryan pressed her, Emma still did admit that she had seen her mommy (or that Spike had seen Ian).
Asleep at the Chandler manse, Annie fantasized about sleeping with Scott. When she woke up, Adam was staring at her.
Zach blasted Kendall for nearly jeopardizing their plan. She accused him of no longer believing in her innocence. He maintained that he believes she is innocent and that if Annie didn't kill Stuart, she knows who did.
Wednesday
On the Fusion rooftop, Amanda broke the news to Jake that she is going to do the dance marathon with David, not him. She told Jake her plan to make David fall in love with her. Jake thought it was too risky.
David (accompanied by Trevor) signed into the marathon. Tad was disgusted when David revealed that he would be dancing with Amanda.
Tension was high when Adam and Annie showed up at Fusion for the dance marathon (she'd been given special permission to attend). Adam and Erica, and Annie and Ryan, separately discussed Adam and Annie's participation in the event. Erica decided to let Adam and Annie stay because of the money Adam pledged to give to the starving children. Ryan failed to talk her out of it. Jesse speculated to Frank and Angie that Madison, not Randi, killed Henry.
In the ladies' room, Randi told Taylor that she and Frankie had reconciled. Madison was listening in, unseen. Taylor approached Tad and they had an awkward conversation when he broke the news that he couldn't dance with her because he was emcee-ing the event. Taylor agreed to be Brot's partner (as friends). Brot greeted Shannon, who was told by Jesse to keep an eye on Annie.
Kendall flipped out to Zach over Liza getting to attend the charity event while she was stuck in the secret room. When she found out that Zach was going to be Liza's dance partner, her nerves became even more frayed. Zach pointed out that the problems between him and Kendall predate his fling with Liza. Zach arrived and when Colby brought Emma by, Zach advocated that Ryan let the little girl see her mom.... Colby and Pete partnered up.... Erica was unhappy that Zach was going to dance with Liza. Zach asked Erica what was up between her and Ryan. Adam thanked Zach for sticking up for Annie. Zach then told Jesse that he thinks Annie is on the verge of cracking. Annie and Erica had a verbal catfight in the ladies' room.... David implied to Tad that he thinks he can win Amanda's affections. Amanda reluctantly joined David to start dancing. Jake spotted Trevor with the nanny and got to hold him briefly.
The dance marathon kicked off officially. In the secret room, Kendall watched Zach dance with Liza. Madison spied on Frankie and Randi. Opal had a vision of blood in the bathroom. "Not again!" she gasped.
Thursday
At the dance marathon, boogiers abounded. Tad made a plea to the viewing audience. Jesse and Angie discussed whether Annie was truly a danger. Jake had a hard time watching David and Amanda. To help Natalia get close to Annie, Jake asked Tad for a favor.... Ryan and Erica's footwork was especially fancy.... Brot and Taylor enjoyed each other's company until Jake cut in and danced Taylor over to Jake and Amanda.... JR approached Marissa at ConFusion and they decided to enter the marathon. An observing Scott was bummed.... Madison made an anonymous $12,000 donation for Frankie as she watched them, unseen.... Dancing with Colby, Petey fought his nerves (and his bladder).... Tad led the group in a dance called "the drunken turkey".... Erica had words with Liza and Zach.... In the secret room, Kendall was
tormented watching Zach and Liza dancing on TV.... Now partnered with Brot, Natalia was able to keep an even closer eye on Annie. Adam and Annie and Ryan and Erica traded barbs on the dance floor.... Madison grabbed a bottle of water and stalked off purposefully. She continued to gaze mournfully at Frankie and Randi. She then put a vial of poison into the water bottle.
On a dance break, Ryan and Erica and Adam and Annie took their snarkfest down to ConFusion and Ryan got a slap from Annie when he declared that he would never let Emma near her. Ryan told Adam that Annie is just using him. Adam made a cryptic comment to Ryan about Zach's newfound faith in Annie. Natalia was frustrated when she lost sight of Annie but Jesse urged her to relax.... Scott approached Annie, suspicious of what she was really doing at the marathon. Annie insisted that she had no ulterior motive. JR, meanwhile, admitted to Marissa that he had seen her with Scott. Marissa confessed that she is falling in love with JR. He reciprocated the sentiment and they kissed.
Amanda and David danced over to Trevor. Jake explained to Taylor why he couldn't go over to the baby himself. Amanda begged David not to interrupt JR and Marissa's kiss. JR took Marissa to the roof, where they continued their smoochfest.
Ryan accused Zach of having brokered a secret meeting between Annie and Emma. Erica broke up their increasingly tense conversation. Liza answered Zach's cell phone when it rang while Zach was washing his hands. "I want to talk to my husband," Kendall demanded. Zach returned and took the phone. When Kendall started kvetching about him and Liza, he hung up.... Ryan told Erica about his suspicions about Zach and Emma. Erica felt terrible for having allowed Annie to stay and told Ryan to go home, but he refused.... Adam had another flash of memory about the night of Stuart's murder. Erica spotted him having turned white as a ghost. She and Ryan cooked up a scheme to take advantage of Adam's condition: La Kane faked an injury so that Ryan could become Annie's new dance partner. Reluctantly, she agreed after Adam dropped out of the competition. Scott tended to Adam, who admitted that he'd had more flashes about the night of the murder.... Annie asked Ryan what he
was up to.
Friday
Carrying the drugged bottled water, Madison ran into Brot on a break. She managed to sneak the water to Randi. After drinking the drugged water, Randi had a vision of Henry dancing with Liza. Frankie told her to sip some water and relax. A concerned Angie noticed Randi seemed upset and advised them to take a breather.
Tad caught Adam resting and asked if he wanted to answer some phones. Adam went to Scott and said he had his doubts about Annie. Scott mentioned Annie's past aberrant behavior and said he can't believe Annie would have done all the bad things she did. Scott admitted that he feels like he doesn't know Annie at all. Adam concurred.
On the roof, JR and Marissa kissed, then fell into a passionate embrace. They lay on the chaise lounge and stargazed. Marissa vowed to be there for JR. He remained resolute that neither Adam or David would discover his condition and reiterated that should anything happen, he wanted Krystal to be Little A's guardian.
Taylor told Jake she, "definitely should have worn sneakers." She agreed to help him steal a few minutes with Amanda. Amanda and David played with Trevor, and Taylor came over to say hello. As David reminded Taylor of the part she played in Trevor's kidnapping, Amanda sneaked away to have her moment with Jake. She promised Jake that their plan to turn the tables on David would work. Jake admitted he was jealous. David then asked Taylor where Jake was, and took the baby back. When he caught Amanda with Jake he asked, "What the hell is this?"
Tad interviewed Ryan and Annie, who spoke to the camera about having to be able to trust their partner. Annie gave a shout out to Emma, and Ryan told Emma to go to bed. Tad moved on to Zach and Liza, and informed them they were a fan favorite and had earned a break.... Colby wasn't sympathetic to Petey's dilemma: he had to go to the bathroom.
Annie and Ryan went up to the roof. She said none of this would have happened if Ryan stuck by her. Ryan pointed out that she's responsible for her own life. Emma called and said she saw mommy and daddy on TV. Ryan told her to go to bed. When Emma replied that she wouldn't tell daddy, Annie hung up on her daughter. Ryan wanted to know what that was all about. Annie vowed that she did not kill Stuart and his plan to get her to confess wasn't going to work. "Please! Back off!" Annie shouted.
Back on the dance floor, David asked Amanda if he needed to be concerned. She said no. Jake and Amanda then staged a fight for David benefit. David bought the ruse. "That was pretty," noted Annie.
Angie asked Tad for a reprieve for medical reasons so she could check on Randi. Then, Petey ran over and begged for a reprieve too, so he could go to the bathroom. Randi told Angie she wasn't feeling well. Angie went to get her some food. Madison spied on Randi as she fought to catch her breath. Just then, Petey ran by and into the ladies room.
Tad was relieved that JR confided in Marissa, and advised JR to go home and rest. Marissa agreed so JR conceded. Adam caught them on the way out and called JR a lush. "See what I have to deal with," JR snapped.
As Jesse showed Madison's picture to workers, asking of they've seen her, Brot stated that he saw her earlier in the evening. Jesse and Frankie rushed into the ladies room and found Taylor on the floor — and Randi was nowhere to be found.
