All My Children Recaps
AMC Week of September 10, 2007
Monday
At the Chandler manse, JR busted Adam for posing as Stuart. Stuart tried to
take responsibility for the ploy but Adam told him not to bother. JR
attempted to talk Adam into funding his new, Ava-centric online business
venture; Adam refused to consider it. Adam told JR he had a plan to get
Chandler back from Zach and urged him to return to the family business. The
men exchanged harsh words about their respective work ethics.
At The Comeback, Babe celebrated the arrival of her high school diploma with
Wes. Ava, who was there with Jonathan, was psyched when Wes recognized her
as a model. Ava was queasy and Babe asked her if she might be pregnant. The
mere suggestion sent Ava into a panic; she grabbed Jon and dragged him away.
Outside of The Comeback, Greenlee blasted Aidan for revealing her role in
the Dr. Hilliard/Kendall situation to Jack. Aidan informed her that she was
the one who'd told him, when she was hopped up on pain pills. Aidan then
told Greenlee that he sincerely likes her; she thanked him. Once inside,
they traded theories about the locket she'd found. They decided to
investigate the trinket's origins.
After a crying Spike reacted to the falling of a lamp in the Slater living
room, Kendall was convinced her could hear and shared the news with Ryan and
Annie, who were far less certain.
In his office, Erica came down hard on Dr. Hilliard, her old associate from
rehab, for, as she put it, "peddling false hope." He insisted that he
believed that he could restore Spike's hearing but she remained certain that
he was preying on her vulnerable daughter. Erica was there when Kendall
called the doc to tell him that Spike could hear. He agreed to come over and
examine the boy and invited Erica to tag along. Dr. Norton arrived and
spotted a rash on Spike's body and the boy stopped breathing; the doc worked
frantically to revive him and he began breathing again. Spike had been
having an allergic reaction to the vitamins Hilliard had prescribed. Joe
advised Kendall not to think he can hear every time he responds to
something. Hilliard and Erica showed up and Ryan came down on him for
causing Spike's crisis. Kendall was overwhelmed by guilt. Erica then
revealed she knows Hilliard and that it was Greenlee who contacted him.
Tuesday
At The Comeback, Tad had breakfast with Dre, Corinna, Colby and Sean. Jack
turned on the TV to a 9/11 memorial, which made the patrons sit up and take
notice. Jack and Krystal exchanged stories about what they had been doing on
that fateful morning, as did Tad and the teens. Tad visited with Julia and
Kathy, then cuddled up to Jenny (in Krystal's arms). Julia opened up to Josh
about her own 9/11 experience, in which she'd had to change identities yet
again (in her Witness Protection days). Everyone got ready to go to a 9/11
memorial. Dre opted out of attending, saying, "I can't." Colby pressed him
but he remained adamant — and cryptic.
At the Yacht Club, Ryan and Jonathan had a meeting to discuss Ryan's funding
of research into deafness. On his cell phone, JR wheeled and dealed, trying
to get investors on board with his new Ava-centric business venture. He
didn't get very far so he went online and learned of Ava's naked romp with a
mystery man (Jonathan). JR sent the link to Amanda. Ryan sauntered over to
Greenlee and told her what had happened with Spike. She was horrified.
Seething, Ryan told Greens that he was having her followed. Greenlee
insisted she wasn't going to hurt Spike, but Ryan wasn't going to take any
chances. Meanwhile, JR told Jon about the racy Ava pics he'd found online
and made his best case to Jonathan for the Lavery brothers investing in his
new business. Jon was not interested in partnering with JR and made his
feelings perfectly plain.
At Fusion, Annie told Amanda and Babe about what had happened with Spike's
allergic reactions to the vitamins from Hilliard. Annie told Babe that she'd
filled in Ryan about her past and he'd been incredible about it. Amanda
opened the e-mail JR had sent to her and it caused a mini-crisis at Fusion.
When Ava arrived, she was chastised by the Fusion women for her lack of
discretion. She became queasy. Babe spied a home pregnancy test and Ava
reluctantly claimed ownership but resisted the ladies' efforts to support
her through her pregnancy scare. She then tried to run out to get some air
and collapsed in an arriving JR's arms.
Zach and Kendall returned home from a visit with Ian; she was still
extremely shaken by having seen Spike stop breathing. He blamed Greenlee,
but
she felt she had no one to blame but herself. Zach did his best to boost her
spirits, noting that she's a terrific mom. Kendall broke down in tears over
Spike.
Wednesday
At Fusion, Babe worried about what would happen if Ava turned out to be
pregnant. Annie was tormented by thoughts of her past and Babe urged her to
open up to her. Annie agreed to head to The Comeback with her but continued
to be plagued by visions of her childhood (like of discovering her mother's
suicide).
When Ava collapsed in JR's arms, JR brought her to the hospital, where Joe
diagnosed her with appendicitis. She was adamantly opposed to undergoing
surgery despite the threat not going under the knife posed to her life. JR
beseeched her to reconsider and called Lily in to help talk her into
agreeing to the operation. Lily freaked out when Ava lost consciousness.
At The Comeback, Greenlee slapped Aidan for spying on her for Ryan. Aidan
promised that he wasn't working for Ryan "at the moment." Aidan tried to
assuage Greenlee's guilt about what happened to Spike and was appalled
when Greens told her that Ryan had her under surveillance. Aidan roughed up
a private eye he spotted at the bar. Aidan and Greenlee's conversation then
turned back to the locket and their desire to uncover its history. Babe and
Annie walked in and Annie grew pale when she spotted the trinket. Annie
bolted, so Babe chatted with Wes.... Greenlee and Aidan made plans to have a
picnic on the beach. When Aidan arrived, someone knocked him unconscious and
swiped the locket from him.
At the HE SAID, SHE SAID studio, Jack and Erica clashed over Greenlee when
Erica told Jack about what had happened with Spike and the vitamins. Their
show rehearsal reflected the tension between them but as they got into a
rhythm of seeing eye-to-eye, Pam called the rehearsal to a halt — proclaiming
the footage to be a snooze. La Kane and Jack ramped up the conflict for the
next segment and Pam was thrilled. Once alone, Jack and Erica decided to use
the show as relationship therapy — squabbling at work, bliss at home. They
sealed the deal with a kiss.
Thursday
At the hospital, Zach hugged Kendall from behind (kangarooing, he called
it) as they watched over the baby. He encouraged her to hold Ian, saying it
was finally time. She was reluctant, however, fearing that if she got too
close she'd hurt him just like she hurt Spike. Zach put his hand to
Kendall's heart, told her he loved her but that she was being illogical; Ian
needed his mom. Kendall tearfully took little Ian into her arms and
mother/son shared a sweet first moment. Zach left the room and came
face-to-face with Adam, who said he wanted his house back. Zach obliged (for
a $1).
Lily was frantic that Ava was unconscious. The doctor said her appendix needs
to be removed immediately. JR and Lily both advised Ava to do the smart thing
and agree to the surgery, but she still wouldn't give the go-ahead so JR
upped the ante and threatened to fire Ava from his project if she didn't
comply. Meanwhile, the doc reminded Ava it was now or never. Later, Jonathan
showed up to talk some sense into Ava, who confessed that she thought she
was pregnant and apologized for not calling him before; he didn't mind.
After more convincing, Ava finally agreed to sign the paperwork and was
promptly rushed to surgery. Later, JR was greeted by the press and
threatened to relese a photo to reveal that Jon was Ava's mystery man.
Annie told Ryan that she spied Aidan with her mother's locket. Ryan soothed
her as she recalled (again) the terrible night of her mom's suicide.
Meanwhile on the beach, Greenlee complained about her botched picnic with
Aidan who was a no show. She packed up the treats and her blanket, then
stormed off cursing him but was stunned when she saw him knocked out on the
ground nearby. Aidan didn't see who hit him on the head with a rock, but the
locket was gone so he took the rock for fingerprints. Greens suspected Ryan
was the culprit and later called him and explained what happened. Ryan
denied any involvement and left to fix things.
Julia stitched up Aidan's head. He was too embarrassed to file a report.
Greens apologized for what happened, but he assured her that he wasn't
threatened by Ryan's meddling. Ryan arrived to wash his hands of the
situation and wondered what was going on between Greens and Aidan; she said
it was none of his business. Annie, meanwhile, had also shown up to the
hospital and watched the exchange. Ryan called his spies, eager to find out
who was really responsible for the mishap, but they didn't know anything.
Aidan revealed that his attackers didn't take anything except for the
locket, so it must be very important to someone. Ryan shot a quizzical look
at Annie, who was sure her brother was behind it all. They agreed to let
Aidan help them uncover the mystery ... if he didn't tell Greens and Ryan made
plans to visit Ritchie in prison.
Friday
Greenlee watched from the hallway as Kendall held Ian for the first time.
Kendall's inner monologue betrayed her fury at Greens's presence. Zach
arrived after Greens was dragged off by a bodyguard and Kendall told him
that she'd been there. Zach found Greenlee and threatened her, but Greens
said that he couldn't stop her from making things right with Kendall.
Meanwhile, Kendall collected Spike from the park and spoke to her son about
what a menace Greenlee is to their family. She told her son she had no
choice but to ask him to forgive her.
At the prison, Ryan demanded that the warden allow him to see Richie
(Annie's brother). The warden summoned the prison psychiatrist instead; the
doc told Ryan that Richie had been released and that Richie is an innocent man — he should never have been incarcerated. Ryan remained
unconvinced and was offended when he implied that Ryan didn't know Annie as
well as he thinks he does. The warden rejoined them and Ryan said he would
prove to both men that Richie is a liar and a dangerous threat to his
family.
At the house, Aidan questioned a flipped-out Annie when the locket that had
been stolen from him fell out of her purse. Annie became increasingly
defensive and almost called Ryan to complain about Aidan's tactics when he
implied that perhaps she had hit him over the head with that rock. Finally,
Annie said that "he" had done it ... but wouldn't identify said man by name.
She thought she saw someone and panicked; Aidan investigated but couldn't
find anyone. Rachel returned with Emma and Aidan urged Annie to relax.
Zach was stunned when he came face-to-face with Hannah in his office.
Greenlee was equally thrown when she opened her door to find Kendall
standing there.
