All My Children Recaps

AMC Week of Sept. 13, 2010

Monday

Damon woke Colby up. She was still shaken about seeing David's death the night before. He served her breakfast in bed to help cheer her up, then showed her a video he made of them together. Meanwhile, at Krystal's, AJ asked Marissa and Krystal if his grandpa David went to heaven. Marissa tried to explain to the boy that he meant the world to his gramps and encouraged him to remember the happy moments they spent together. AJ then brought up how much he misses his mom.

Asher confronted JR about the job at Chandler. JR questioned him about the fraudulent college listing on his resume. Asher explained that he got kicked out for hacking into the university's computer system and pointed out that he could be very useful to JR because he's willing to work off the books. After, JR was cold to Caleb who warned him about his business dealings. When JR went to go pick up AJ he tangled with Marissa, who called him out on booting Scott from the company so he could get closer to Annie. She was concerned about how AJ is dealing with David's death.

At the jail, Ryan's attorney told him to take a plea bargain. Greenlee urged him not to do it. Meanwhile, Kendall thanked Bianca for posting her bail. She worried about ruining her life and refused to believe that Ryan really killed David; Binks said she thinks it was an accident but worried that a jury won't believe it. Madison was shocked to hear that Kendall was in the slammer for burning the evidence. She reported as much to Greenlee and then berated her. Ryan defended Greens, who was apologetic. Greens left and Madison pledged her devotion to Ryan. They shared a passionate kiss.

Later, Greenlee went to Fusion and agreed with Binks that it's time for her to finally come clean about what she's done — all of it. She came clean about her role in Erica's plane crash and keeping quiet about it to protect David and herself. Binks and Kendall were upset. Greens admitted to being selfish, said she's genuinely sorry and never meant to hurt Erica. Kendall was flabbergasted and angry at herself for helping Greens, who explained she turned to David out of desperation. Kendall couldn't forgive her friend this time. "I risked my freedom for you!" she cried. Binks was determined to get Ryan out of jail but didn't want guilt-ridden Greenlee's assistance.

Asher tricked the nanny at Wildwood and hacked into Caleb's computer so he could swipe Caleb's Cortlandt schedule, then fibbed about what he was doing when Caleb saw him near the computer. After, Krystal helped Caleb with some files regarding Angie's case. He was distracted by what went down during the fire. Meanwhile, Asher presented JR with Caleb's schedule to show his
alliance.

Binks told Kendall to call Zach and tell him the truth. She did call him but couldn't bring herself to tell him the truth.... Greenlee made arrangements for David at the hospital and saw her dead hubby's ghost, who blamed her for his murder. An autopsy report showed that David was poisoned.

Tuesday

JR went to his home and called out for AJ. He asked Annie if she saw him and she hadn't. She suggested that the little boy was hiding. JR became panicked and they made some calls to search for him. He reasoned that his son was upset over David's death and planned to have his driver take Annie to look for him. She readily agreed and JR thanked her for her help. Annie searched around town and found Marissa working. She told Marissa how AJ ran away and Marissa insinuated that it was Annie's fault.

Krystal invited Caleb over for a home-cooked meal and promised that there wouldn't be any interruptions. He accepted. She asked where things stood between him and Erica. Caleb wanted to know why she'd bring her up and asked when he should be over for dinner. Krystal replied that it wasn't a good night after all because she had to go to the meeting to support Angie. Soon, JR arrived and asked if they've seen AJ. They hadn't. They joined him in the search. Later, JR and Annie looked in the park and she promised that they'd have the boy home by dinner. Annie spied a toy truck and called out for AJ; she found him hiding in the bushes. A relieved Annie led him out and asked why he ran away. A grateful JR and Marissa joined them and Annie shared that AJ had heard them fighting about him. Marissa and JR apologized for upsetting him and assured AJ that they love him, even if they're not living together. Both agreed to let him go home with Marissa for the night. Annie gave Marissa the toy truck, but Marissa just shot her a withering glance.

Jake informed Tad that David was trying to start a smear campaign against Angie. Amanda shared that they had a petition in Angie's favor. Tad didn't want her to lose her career. Brot and Bianca arrived to speak on Angie's behalf.... Jesse helped Angie get dressed for her hearing. Frankie, Natalia and Randi assured her that she'd do fine. Angie noted that David's complaints against her were valid. She asked if they could say a prayer together. They all held hands and Angie spoke aloud to God.

At the station, Ryan and Madison smooched. She wished she didn't have to leave him, but had to go to Angie's hearing. She promised that she'd return for his arraignment. Ryan stated that he knows that she's there for him, whether she's there in person or not.

At the hospital, the medical examiner informed Greenlee that David had been poisoned by Digitalis and that it wasn't the fight with Ryan that had killed him. Greens hurried to the station to tell Ryan and they embraced. "Wait, who poisoned him?" Ryan wondered. Greenlee regretted having hurt so many people, but he encouraged her to move forward. Tad joined them and Greenlee filled him on how David had been poisoned. Tad asked Greenlee if she'd speak at Angie's hearing.

The Hubbards, Bianca, Amanda, Jake and Opal arrived for the hearing. Opal assured Angie that she's behind her 100 percent. Brot also stated that he's there for her and they shared a hug. Soon, the board members arrived and asked if Angie had anything to say. She stated that there was a time when people thought being a woman or African-American meant that you were "handicapped," but she'd never let anything stop her — and that she's made sure not to let her eye problems affect her on the job. "I will never let a handicap prevent me from being the best doctor I can be," she insisted. "I'm still as fine a doctor as I ever was. I'm a healer. You can take away my sight, but you can never take away that." Everyone applauded when she finished. Next, Jake spoke on Angie's behalf and Amanda presented the board with the petition signed by the hundreds of people who wanted Angie to keep her job. Madison also stood up for Angie, as well as Opal. "She saved me. Though she may not be able to see with her eyes now, Dr. Hubbard sees with her heart," Opal explained. Brot shared that he's seen Angie deal with tough patients, but she always gave her work everything she has. Miranda relayed how Angie had saved Miranda's life, even though she couldn't see. Natalia informed them how Angie had cared for her dying mother. Frankie stated that his mother has inspired him to be the doctor he is. Later, the board asked Jake to read David's letter, which accused Angie of endangering patients. Jake didn't want to but the board urged him to keep reading. Jake explained that David was jealous of Angie and called the letter "trash."

Madison returned home and was thrilled to see Ryan waiting for her. "I didn't do it. I'm free," he happily announced. They speculated about who could've poisoned David, then kissed. When things heated up, Madison pulled away and Ryan asked what was wrong. She explained that Emma wanted to spend time with him. Ryan didn't know what he was going to say to Emma. "Tell her it's over," Madison shrugged. Ryan wasn't sure it was over, but Madison stressed that he's innocent and his daughter wanted to see him.

At home, JR lamented to Annie that it was his fault that AJ ran away and wondered if he's that much like his own father. "You are not your father," she replied and took his hand.... Marissa assured AJ that she and JR were just arguing about grown-up stuff and that he could stay with her for as long as he wanted,

The board was about to deliberate, but Greenlee interrupted and asked if she could address David's comments. "Angie Hubbard would never, ever put a patient's life at risk," she declared. "She saved my life." Later, Angie thanked Greenlee for speaking on her behalf. She then thanked her friends and loved ones for supporting her. The board soon returned and announced that Angie will remain as chief of staff. Everyone cheered.

After the hearing, Greenlee went to see Ryan, but he wasn't at his place. She went to hang up his jacket for him and a vial of Digitalis fell out of his pocket.

Wednesday

As Krystal reflected on the death of David, Jake gazed at a picture of David, a blind Angie navigated her way down the hospital during a session with her new adviser, Tad and JR played with AJ, Jesse reviewed the suspects in David's poisoning, Ryan and Madison hung out at the penthouse, and Greenlee entered Wildwind with the vial of poison she'd found in Ryan's pocket on her brain. Kendall was not happy to see her. Marissa entered Krystal's living room and embraced her mom. Jesse and Liza looked at the autopsy results and Jesse speculated that David may have had a stash of the very poison that killed him.

Jesse accused Liza of being determined to pin the crime on Ryan. Jesse countered that maybe Liza had done in David.

Ryan and Madison discussed who might have killed David. Madison thought that Greens was a viable suspect. Ryan leaped to Greenlee's defense. Ryan was surprised to find a card from Greenlee. He told Mad that the card just expressed sentiments of friendship and that he would tell Greens to stop letting herself in and out of his place at will. Madison suggested that she and Ryan go on vacation. Ryan lamented to Madison that he couldn't remember the details of the night that David died.

Greenlee and Kendall talked about how it's likely that someone they cared about probably killed David. Kendall was still furious with Greens for her role in the Miranda scandal. Greens stalked out after noting to Kendall that the tears she would shed at David's funeral would be real ones.

Tad assured JR that he wasn't responsible for AJ having run away. JR and Tad pondered how Dixie could have gotten involved with David.

Bianca and Amanda chatted about David in the park.

Angie encountered Frankie and Jake in the lounge and they talked about poisoning as the cause of David's death. They discussed who might have killed David.

Marissa went to Krystal's restaurant and Krystal urged her not to think that people were happy that David is dead. Marissa was stunned when Krystal told her about David's father's suicide. People began to stream into the restaurant to pay their respects to David while Marissa, Krystal and Greenlee went to the cemetery. Jesse and Liza showed up and she noted that all of Jesse's chief suspects were in the same room. Natalia and Liza exchanged looks of venom. Tad told JR and Opal that he half expected David to jump out of his grave and surprise them. Krystal, Marissa and Greenlee agreed that it was hard to believe that David was really gone. Marissa asked Greens if she knew who killed David. “I have no idea,” Greens claimed. David's ghost haunted Greenlee, noting that she's afraid that Ryan is the guilty party. Back at Krystal's, Tad and Liza bickered about whether David's death is truly a tragedy. Marissa and Krystal returned to the restaurant as everyone was enumerating David's misdeeds. "Stop it!" barked Marissa. "Show some respect," snapped Krystal. JR rushed to Marissa's side; Tad, Angie, Amanda and Jake also apologized. Angie led the group in a prayer as flashbacks of David's life played.

Greenlee went to the penthouse, interrupting a smooching session between Ryan and Madison. She told Ryan that the matter was urgent and involved who poisoned David. Madison was about to excuse herself when Emma returned home. Seeing Emma and Ryan together made Greenlee change her mind about telling Ryan about the vial she found in his pocket. Greens beat a hasty retreat.

Thursday

At the park, Greenlee looked at photos of Leo and asked for his advice. Kendall arrived and asked Greens to open up. Kendall then noticed Greenlee was concealing something and grabbed it. It was a vial of Digitalis, the poison used to kill David. Greens admitted that she feared Ryan might be the killer. Kendall reminded her friend that Ryan could never kill anyone. "You're a mess," Kendall huffed.

Annie was sympathetic about JR's concerns for his son having to deal with a divorce and said she hoped they could be friends. Scott entered and insisted that could never happen, as JR could never accept losing Annie to his cousin. The boys quarreled about their rocky history and JR walked out. Scott told Annie he's not buying, "the new and improved JR Chandler" act. Scott then got a call and told Annie that JR's coming after him.

Caleb gave Marissa an assignment; Marissa admitted she was feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment. Caleb discussed getting his company back but wondered if Marissa could handle what was to come. Marissa assured Caleb that she had no plans to bail on him. Marissa excused herself, then JR showed up. As he bickered with Caleb, Marissa returned and chastised JR for the crappy way he treated people, "starting with me." Just then, JR got a call from the principal at AJ's school, saying the boy was involved in a fight. JR met with the principal and offered "incentive" to keep the incident quiet, getting huffy when the principal asked if there were any problems at home. Later, JR vented about the fight to Tad. Tad offered to be of assistance if needed. AJ entered and asked JR if he planned to mention the fight to mommy. JR said he'd keep it between, "just us guys."

Ryan wondered aloud to Tad if he could have killed David. Later, Kendall came over to tell Ryan it was understandable if he acted out, considering all the pressure he's been under lately. "Kendall, are you trying to ask me something?" Ryan asked. Kendall assured her friend that she would always be there for him.

Krystal noticed Marissa was upset and backed off. Just then, Bianca approached Marissa and broke the news about AJ's fight at school. Marissa was furious that no one called her and phoned the principal. She got evenmore upset to learn JR offered the principal a bribe and purposely kept her out of the loop. Krystal wasn't surprised by JR's behavior at all.

Meanwhile, Greenlee returned to the scene of the crime and ran into Tad. After Tad left, Greenlee spoke to Leo's photo again regarding David. She got a call from Kendall, asking her to meet at Ryan's place. As Greens and Kendall went back and forth about whether Ryan could commit murder, Ryan entered and asked what they were talking about.

Friday

Kendall fibbed to Ryan that she and Greenlee were talking about the police harassing him while investigating David's murder. He wanted to talk to the cops again but the ladies, fearing he would remember too much, urged him to stay quiet. Ryan insisted on going to Jesse and headed out. Greens then vowed to stop Ryan from recalling where the vial of Digitalis was found and proposed planting it on someone else. Kendall ordered Greenlee not to resort to such illegal tactics.

Annie slapped JR for his "bogus" press release that Scott is moving to Europe. JR said he needed his cousin out of the way so he can run Chandler, then flirted outrageously with Annie. Seemingly sickened, she insisted that her husband isn't going anywhere and blasted JR for underestimating her.

Scott reluctantly sat down with Caleb, who offered to invest in the
struggling Chandler European Division, and also help Scott watch out for JR. "I think I'll pass," Scott scoffed, then charged over to Annie and griped at her for setting up the meeting with Caleb. She pushed Scott to accept Caleb's help but he refused to compromise himself by fighting dirty. Annie still wanted her hubby to consider Caleb as an option in order to combat JR's underhandedness.

At the police station, Ryan approached Jesse, who theorized that David may have poisoned the drink himself and meant for Ryan to drink it. Ryan returned home, where Kendall and Greenlee quietly freaked when he said that Jesse was sending over a hypnotist to help him recall his memory. After Kendall left and Ryan was out of the room, Greenlee picked up his cell phone and called her own cell. Without breaking the connection, she then set down Ryan's phone and departed. The hypnotist arrived and Greenlee was able to listen on her phone to the session as Ryan was put under hypnosis. Greens was surprised when Ryan said he was worried about her because "I love her."

In the park, Miranda pointed out Asher to Bianca as the guy who fixed their computer. He offered to give Miranda computer lessons and Bianca accepted. Asher later showed up at the Cortlandt mansion to tutor Miranda but was met at the door by a gruff Caleb. While waiting for Miranda to come downstairs, Asher tried to make small talk with Caleb about family but he was guarded. After Caleb left to meet with Marissa, Asher called JR and said he's in front of Caleb's computer for HR said he needs Ash to do more than just hacking.

Bianca urged Kendall to come clean with Zach about her arrest but she didn't want to try explaining over the phone. Instead, Kendall wanted to see her husband in person but Binks balked at her sister for even thinking about leaving town while on bail. Kendall assured she wouldn't but drove out anyway. She got pulled over for speeding and hauled in for skipping bail. She insisted to Jesse that she was coming back but he had no choice but to take her in custody.

Marissa railed at JR for the way he's raising AJ. He barked that he's doing just fine since AJ lost "his real mother." Those words wounded Marissa and he apologized but she wasn't appeased. She headed over to study law with Caleb. Their session was interrupted by a call from Scott, who asked if they could further discuss Caleb's offer. "I think that can be arranged," Caleb sniffed.
