AMC Week of October 27, 2008
Monday
Greenlee held Bianca's baby as she talked to Aidan. She asked him to help Ryan and Annie find Emma, and Aidan left without answering. Meanwhile, Ryan and Annie read the kidnapper's note, and Annie became hysterical. Ryan said they had to go to the police, but Annie insisted they couldn't — the note said not to. She begged him to let Aidan help them instead. Just then, Aidan showed up at the door. Ryan insisted they didn't need Aidan's help. Aidan asked Ryan to let him be the one to contact Jesse, since they might be being watched. Ryan agreed.
Jake rushed down the stairs after Taylor. She was unconscious. Joe called for help. After Taylor was situated in a room, Jake ran into Amanda, who told him she'd had to swim to shore after bring thrown overboard. Rather that stitching up the cut on her forehead himself, he excused himself to check on Taylor, much to Amanda's chagrin. After looking at Taylor's X-rays, he and Frankie could see her spine had been injured. They went to her room to examine her. Taylor couldn't feel anything when Frankie touched her foot. They told her in that it was probably because of the swelling around her spine, and that in most cases, when the swelling went down, the feeling would return. Taylor tried to be optimistic.
David held Babe's body and told her how much he loved her. Krystal found him and tried to console him. She said he had to let Babe go. David claimed she was just as guilty as the Chandlers. Krystal reminded him that she lost Babe, too. David agreed to bring Babe's body back downstairs.
Adam and Bianca were thrilled to find that Erica wasn't the body on the stretcher. Erica and Bianca embraced. Bianca filled her in on Kendall's condition, and they went to see her. Erica thought she could wake her up, and sat down and told her about Adam's confession. Kendall didn't stir. Out in the hall, Erica hugged Zach. She insisted Kendall was going to pull through. Zach clearly blamed himself for not being there when the tornado hit. They made a deal not to give up on her. Erica wondered where Bianca had gone, and Zach said she was probably with the baby. "What baby?" Erica wanted to know.
In the hall, Jake ran into Amanda again, who asked about Taylor. She offered him a shoulder to cry on and hugged him. Zach interrupted and asked how Taylor was doing. He wanted to go see her, but Jake told him to stay away from him and Taylor. Zach told Jake to stay away from Kendall, or he would never practice medicine again. After he left, Frankie came over and asked Jake if he could come with him to meet with Taylor. Amanda told him to go, but was clearly disappointed. As Frankie and Jake got to Taylor's room, she fell to the floor after trying to climb out of bed.
Adam and Bianca walked up just as David walked in carrying Babe's body.
Bianca was devastated. Tad checked on Bianca, but she rushed off. David laid Babe down and kissed her goodbye. Everyone looked on as he sobbed over her body. He got up, and blamed JR for Babe's death. Adam told him to back off, but David pushed JR up against a wall and threatened to kill him. Everyone pulled them apart. Guards dragged David out of the hospital. After he was gone, Krystal assured everyone she would take care of him.
Erica and Bianca talked about Babe's death. Erica expressed her shock over Bianca's baby. Bianca told Erica that Reese was the love of her life. Erica asked about the father, and Bianca admitted it was Zach, and explained how it had come to pass. She explained her reasons for not telling anyone about the pregnancy. After, Erica said she wanted the truth. Bianca confessed she hadn't wanted to give Kendall the chance to say no. She hoped Kendall would be able to understand.
Ryan and Annie ran into Greenlee at the hospital, who told them she had spoken to Aidan. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the hospital, Aidan covertly passed Jesse a note. Ryan didn't think it would be a good idea for him and Annie to be seen together. He thought they should split up. Reluctantly, she agreed, and he left her with Greenlee. Greenlee apologized for not believing Annie when she first said Emma was in trouble. They began to argue, and Aidan broke it up, saying they needed to concentrate on finding Emma. In the stairwell, Ryan got a call from the kidnapper saying that he'd made a big mistake by contacting the police. Just then Jesse appeared in the stairwell. Ryan didn't tell him about the note; he just asked if Jesse had any information. Jesse said they didn't have anything yet, and asked if Ryan had been contacted by the kidnapper. Ryan said no.
Erica told Adam she was sorry about Babe. He assured her that Kendall would pull through with Erica fighting for her. Adam said he hoped that Erica would keep his secret buried in the tunnel. Meanwhile, Bianca sat down with Zach at Kendall's beside. She suggested he go home, but he refused.
In jail, David vowed to "murder the bastard" who killed Babe.
Tuesday
Krystal went to jail to bail David out. David promised to kill JR if he was released, and Krystal reminded him that if he killed JR, Little Adam would be left an orphan. She tried to talk sense into him, to stop his vendetta against the Chandlers. She told him she would post his bail if he would leave town and stay away for good. He eventually agreed. Meanwhile, Colby caught JR with a flask in his hand. He told her he hadn't drunk anything, and she said she was proud of him. JR went to see Little A at Tad's. He asked when his mom was coming home, and JR said she wasn't, but that she loved him very much. Later, JR told Tad he didn't think Little A understood. Tad said how proud he was of him. Just then Krystal came home and told them that David had agreed to leave Pine Valley for good. Neither Tad nor JR thought they should believe David. JR swore he would do anything to protect his family from David. Later, Krystal promised Babe they would take care of JR and Little A.
Pete told Adam he was sorry for his loss. Adam thanked him, and handed him an envelope. Inside was a one-way plane ticket to London. Adam told him he'd confessed to Erica, and he was sending him away for his own protection, and quickly sent him out the door. Pete told Colby about Adam sending him away because of Erica knowing their secret. Colby thought that once Pete was gone, Adam would blame the whole Bella mess on him, while he wasn't there to defend himself. Colby insisted she wouldn't let Adam get away with it. She went off on Adam. JR came in with Little A and told Colby to stop. Colby took Little A outside, but came back in time to hear JR tell Adam that he forgives him. Adam thanked him, and JR told him he was doing it for himself, to keep himself from drinking. When JR went to get a snack for Little A, Adam ripped up Pete's plane ticket. Colby happily embraced him. JR and Adam went outside to bring Little A his snack, only to find him sitting on David's lap. JR told David to get away from his son.
Angie discharged Bianca. Jack greeted Binks and the baby, and told her that he was glad she was there. Her family needed her. In Kendall's room, Greenlee told Zach to go home; she'd stay with Kendall. She told him the boys needed him, and reluctantly, Zach agreed to go home and see them. On his way out, Zach ran into Bianca, and offered to let her stay at his house. She didn't have a place to stay, and it would help the boys to have her around. Bianca gratefully agreed. She told him Reese and Miranda were on their way from Paris. At home, Zach held the baby. Meanwhile, as Greenlee sat with Kendall, alarms started going off. The phone rang at Zach's and Bianca picked up. It was Greenlee, telling them that Kendall's heart had stopped.
Ryan and Annie got a call from the kidnapper. He said to meet him at a motel, and to come alone. When they opened the door to leave, they ran into Jesse. Jesse suspected that the kidnapper had contacted them and they hadn't told him. They denied it. After they promised to call if they heard anything, Jesse left. When they arrived at the motel, they found Aidan, who explained that he was there because he had tapped their phones. He also told them the kidnapper had already been there, and he left behind a laptop. On the laptop they found a video of Emma, and a message: $10 million.
Angie talked to Natalia about her reasons for coming to Pine Valley. Natalia insisted that something was wrong with her mother, and asked Angie to check her out when she came to pick her up. Later, Angie ran into Rebecca in the hall. After they introduced themselves, Angie directed Rebecca to Natalia's room. Once she got there, Rebecca argued with Natalia about Jesse. Out in the hall, Rebecca thanked Angie for taking care of Natalia, and apologized for any problems her coming to town may have caused. Rebecca assured Angie that Jesse's heart had always been with Angie. Angie knew that Rebecca had made a huge sacrifice, but Rebecca said it was worth it if Jesse was happy. Angie asked if she planned to see Jesse while she was there, but Rebecca assured her she was only there for Natalia.
Wednesday
Joe filled Erica and Greenlee in on Kendall's condition. He told them the coma had strained Kendall's heart, and that she needed immediate surgery in order to survive. He explained that PVH's heart specialist had been injured in the tornado, so there was no one there to perform the operation. He had called a doctor in from out of town, but they had to wait. Zach wanted to know if this doctor was the best, and Erica said he wasn't — but she knew who was. Zach told Bianca he felt like he'd failed Kendall. He told her about the fighting that had been going on for the last few months, and Bianca assured him that Kendall knew he loved her. Sitting alone with Kendall, Bianca thought back on her conversation with Kendall before the tornado hit, in which Kendall told her she was worried about her marriage to Zach, and telling him she wasn't ready for another baby.
David told JR he wasn't done with his grandson. JR vowed David would never be anything to Little Adam, and sent the child off to eat lunch. David revealed that he was suing for full custody of Little A. After he left, Krystal walked in, wanting to know what David was still doing in town. They told her about the custody suit. Krystal said she had an idea — they had to remain united. They made plans for Babe's funeral, and JR went to check on Little A. Meanwhile, Adam tried to console Krystal. He said nice things about Babe, but Krystal pointed out that he never said anything like that when Babe was alive, and walked out. JR told Adam he was going over to Tad's, and Adam suggested he stay at the mansion. JR reminded him he didn't live there anymore, and said that although he had forgiven him, he wouldn't forget.
David talked to Babe's coffin, and told her about his plans for Little A. Erica found him there. She told him she wanted him to save her daughter's life. David didn't see why he should help Kendall. She begged him, but he wouldn't budge. She suggested there was something else she could do — he wanted something, and she could get it for him.
Ryan angrily told Aidan they didn't want his help. He promised Annie he would do anything to get the money and bring Emma home. Aidan stopped by Greenlee's, and she filled him in on Kendall. Aidan told her about the video of Emma, and that Ryan wasn't letting him help. Back at home, Ryan made some calls and found out that he could only produce two million dollars immediately. Annie suggested they ask Zach or Erica for a loan, but Ryan said they couldn't do that while Kendall was in a coma. As they argued about it, Greenlee arrived at the door. Annie asked if she had eight million dollars they could put towards the ransom, even though Ryan didn't want her to. Greenlee said yes, and made a call to her bank. Ryan went with her to pick up the cash. Greenlee and Ryan returned home to find Annie asleep. After they went outside, she woke up, and watched them together.
Krystal went to visit Opal, and found David in Kendall's room. She confronted him about not leaving town, and told him he wasn't taking Little A anywhere. He told her she couldn't stop him. He taunted her, and then excused himself to go save a life. In the waiting room, Erica happily announced that David had agreed to operate on Kendall. Zach gave the go ahead after Erica and Bianca convinced him that David was the one who could save Kendall. Bianca thanked David, and said she was sorry about Babe. Alone with David, Zach pushed him up against a wall. He impressed upon him the importance of a successful surgery. David walked away after telling Zach he was going to owe him when Kendall came out of this alive. Krystal ran into Erica in the hall, and asked what Erica had promised David in order to get him to do the surgery. Erica told her to worry about her own family. Together, Bianca and Zach picked the name Gabrielle for the baby. Meanwhile, David smirked as he prepared to operate on Kendall.
Thursday
After Kendall's surgery, Bianca hugged David and thanked him for saving her sister. Zach asked when she would wake up, but David told them he didn't think she would ever wake up. Zach told him to get out. Bianca followed him out, and David said he wasn't going to Babe's funeral. Bianca said goodbye to Zach before going home to feed the baby before the funeral. Zach told Joe that Erica had hired a specialist to take over Kendall's case, and that she would need all the information about how Jake screwed up. Jake overheard this, and told Zach that the specialist would tell him that Jake saved Kendall from brain damage or bleeding to death. He also told Zach that because of him, Taylor may not walk again. Alone with Jake, Joe told him that upon further review, he felt Jake had made the right decisions in terms of Kendall's treatment.
Amanda stopped by Taylor's room with flowers, but Taylor threw them away and told her to get out. Later, Zach went by Taylor's room and apologized to her. He told her he had taken care of her medical bills. She went off on him too, and told him to worry about his wife. Jake visited next. He told her he wanted her to fight, but she said she had nothing to fight for, so she might as well be dead.
Krystal, Tad and JR prepared to go to Babe's funeral. Little A wanted to know when his mom was coming home from heaven. JR did his best to make him feel better. Together, they headed out. Colby told Adam he should stay away from the funeral. Pete told her that JR needed them both. Colby rushed them out.
Meanwhile, David met with a woman and leased Wildwind. Alone, he sat holding a gun. Everyone gathered to say goodbye to Babe. Stuart, Krystal and JR spoke about her, and Little A said goodbye. After everyone left, JR opened the coffin and placed their rings on their fingers while reciting their vows. He kissed her and promised he would never stop loving her. David walked in and asked for the time to say goodbye to her. Reluctantly, JR let him. After, David chugged a bottle of alcohol. He offered it to JR. JR smashed it and held the broken bottle to David's neck. He accused David of trying to lure him into drinking.
Greenlee thought Ryan and Annie needed to go to the police. Annie said that wasn't an option. Just then, the kidnapper called with the address for them to drop the money. He hung up without telling them where Emma was. They debated what to do. Greenlee thought if they gave him the money without securing Emma, they might never get Emma back. They decided to get a tracking device to leave with the money, and Ryan left to get one from Aidan. After he left, Annie accused Greenlee of wanting Emma dead. Greenlee, of course, denied it. Annie told her to get out, and Greenlee said she'd wait for Ryan in the hall. As soon as Greenlee was out of the apartment, Annie grabbed the big of money and left.
Bianca was at home holding Gabrielle when there was a knock at the door. It was a trick-or-treater, who revealed herself to be Miranda! Behind her was Reese. Bianca embraced them both, relieved to see them. Bianca introduced the baby to her other mom. Zach came home and Reese greeted him with a big hug and a thank you for being there for Bianca and bringing their baby into the world.
Back at home, Colby told Pete when her time came she didn't want to have any regrets. She grabbed him and kissed him. Pete pulled away — he thought Colby just needed a friend. Adam walked in and smiled.
When Ryan returned with the tracking device, he and Greenlee realized that Annie had snuck out. Meanwhile, Annie walked into the motel room, and a gun went off.
Friday
Reese fawned over the baby, and Bianca introduced Miranda to her little sister. Zach sat down with them as they talked about names. Bianca told her Zach had suggested Gabrielle. Reese said she liked it. Zach left to go back to the hospital, and Bianca said she would be there soon. After he left, Bianca told Reese they couldn't stay at a hotel; they had to be there for Zach. Reese gave Bianca an envelope. Inside, Bianca found the blueprints for the house Reese had planned for them. The next surprise? The house was almost finished being built. Bianca was overwhelmed and thanked her. Reese told her there was one more thing. She pulled out a ring box, and asked Bianca to marry her. Bianca said yes, and they kissed.
David told JR he'd just forgotten JR had a drinking problem. JR didn't buy it. David urged him to slit his throat, but JR pulled back. He again blamed JR for Babe's death. Krystal came in, and told JR to go home to Little A. She stayed to talk to David. He told her he'd rented Wildwind, but claimed he wasn't planning anything.
Ryan and Greenlee arrived at the motel. When Ryan walked into the room, he discovered Annie had been shot. Annie insisted they couldn't call for the police or an ambulance. After Ryan looked around, he brought Annie to the hospital, where Frankie checked her out. He told her she was lucky, as the bullet had gone clean through her, so all he had to do was clean the wound and pack it up. He said she would still have to stay the night. Frankie said he had to report any gunshot wounds to the police, but Annie said no way. Ryan said they couldn't do it alone anymore, however, and Greenlee went to get Jesse. The kidnapper called Ryan and said Annie was lucky he didn't kill her. He told him to listen to his instructions. When Greenlee came back with Jesse, Ryan and Annie were gone.
Jesse asked Frankie how Natalia was doing, but Frankie simply said she wasn't his patient. Jesse walked into Natalia's room to find Angie, Rebecca and Natalia laughing together. Jesse greeted Rebecca with surprise, and Angie told him Natalia was being released. Natalia tried to get Rebecca to talk to Angie about how she'd been feeling, but Rebecca didn't want to. She said Natalia had to accept the situation, and excused herself to check on the release papers. In the hall she ran into Frankie and introduced herself. He coldly told her he couldn't help her, and walked away. Frankie accused Jesse of sending Rebecca to try and talk to him, and ended up telling him off about the whole situation. Angie came out and told him to stop and apologize to Jesse. Frankie was shocked that Angie would defend him, and stormed off. Angie promised to talk to Frankie, but Jesse admitted he was surprised Angie was being so calm. She told her that Rebecca helped her understand. In fact, she felt that if it wasn't for Rebecca, he may never have made it home. In Natalia's room, she and Rebecca argued as they packed her things. Angie walked in and Rebecca became flustered. Suddenly, she collapsed.
Zach found a priest in Kendall's room praying for her. He told him Kendall had been hurt before, and they talked about why things happened. The priest urged him to have faith. Later, Zach sat in the hospital chapel and thought about his life with Kendall. Meanwhile, back in Kendall's room, she moved one of her fingers.
At home, JR told Little A he would take him, Kathy and Jenny trick-or-treating. Tad told him he was proud of him. Tad went out and found Krystal. She told him David had thanked her for giving him Babe. Back at Wildwind, Babe appeared to David and told him she was okay. She was happy there. She told him he would be happy there, too. She disappeared, and he broke down in tears. David got the gun out of his bag and sat down, placing it next to his head. Krystal rushed in, urging him not to do it.
