Monday
Caleb met with Erica and they strategized how to bring down JR. They decided to target Asher and turn him against JR. Erica managed to bump into Asher and struck up a conversation. Erica mentioned that she and Caleb were partners and Asher called him, "a phony son of a bitch." Erica stated that JR must be feeding him lies about Caleb and added that Caleb is loyal to his family, while JR is a thief. She stated that if he wanted to bring them information about JR, he could. Asher vowed he'd never work for Caleb.
Kendall lamented the bad publicity that Fusion was getting due to Greenlee's murder trial. Ryan was confident that Greens would be cleared. Madison offered to research their P.R. options and headed out. Kendall told Ryan that Madison was amazing. They discussed his feelings for Greenlee. Ryan said that when Greens returned, he tried to get close to her but she kept him at arm's length. He added that he was very happy with Madison.
At the Chandler mansion, Scott flashed back to walking in on JR and Annie in bed together, expressed mock gratitude for having such a loving family and walked out. Colby knew something was wrong and wanted to help, and realized that somehow Annie was behind it again. JR defended Annie. Scott went to the site of his wedding and had a conversation with Stuart. Scott was upset by how he'd changed over the past year.
Greenlee and Jackson strategized about the trial. Jack warned his daughter
that they can't keep Ryan out of the picture but Greenlee insisted on it.
Greenlee then wondered where she should stay to avoid the media. Jack had an idea. Later, Erica came home to see Jack. "I've had the most exhausting day," she bellowed. Greenlee appeared with pillows and said, "Sounds like somebody needs a hug." Jack asked the girls to play nice and the both agreed to try.
Colby returned to her room to find Asher. "My boys were just put in a vice
by Erica Kane," he reported. They got to talking and Colby admitted she
missed her dad. She then quizzed Asher about his father. Asher was short
with her on the topic of fathers. Meanwhile, Erica called Caleb and left him
a message that she thinks there's more to Asher than they know.
Caleb showed up at the Chandler manse with custody papers and cited how unsafe an environment the mansion was to raise AJ. "Get out of my house," JR huffed. "No one is going to take my son from me." Just then, Scott showed up and told everyone it was time he "came clean" about a crime that was committed involving Palmer.
Jackson and Greenlee went to see Ryan and told him about Jack's strategy to make Ryan look guilty to get Greenlee off. Ryan admitted the plan was his idea. Greenlee told her father that if he went ahead with this plan, she'd fire him. Ryan pointed out that firing Jack the day before her trial was not the smart thing to do. Ryan remained adamant about testifying on her behalf. Greenlee left in a huff and begged Jack not to proceed with his plan.
Tuesday
Against JR and Annie's protests, Scott confessed to Caleb that he stole Palmer's nano-tech device. JR accused his cousin of coming clean as revenge for him sleeping with Annie. "You people are really something," grumbled Caleb, who warned Scott he will pay for screwing over Palmer. JR maintained his innocence and challenged Caleb to prove otherwise. FBI agents suddenly burst in and a shocked JR asked who invited the feds. "I did," Scott chirped and ordered the agents to take him to the police station so he can make a full confession. After Scott was led away (with Annie following), Caleb promised to take away JR's son permanently. Caleb also threatened to take control of "your daddy's company."
Natalia insisted to Angie that there's nothing going on between her and Brot but Angie didn't believe her. Natalia noted that she is Brot's superior which makes any personal relationship "tricky." Angie asked her stepdaughter if she's ever been in love. "I don't even know," Natalia replied so Angie opined that fear is holding her back and advised Nat not to close herself off from romance. Natalia likened taking a chance on love to walking into a
shootout without wearing a bullet-proof vest.
Colby assumed her mother had a hidden agenda in hiring Damon as her assistant but Liza insisted it's purely business. Colby snarked that she still isn't going to let Liza back into her life. Later, Colby told Damon that JR and Annie slept together again.
Brot complained to Jesse about taking orders from Natalia and wondered when he'll also get promoted to detective. Jesse assured in due time and observed that Brot and Natalia seem to be getting along much better. Brot admitted that he had to earn Natalia's respect. Natalia showed up and tried to start a tender conversation with Brot, but they were interrupted when Scott was brought in.
Jack felt bad about incriminating other people for David's murder in order to clear Greenlee, but Krystal encouraged him to do what he has to do when it comes to family. Jack presented his list of potential suspects to Liza, who suggested it would be best that Greenlee be represented by someone who could be more objective. Later, Caleb informed Jack that he would be getting Cortlandt back and was going to ask Erica to help run it. Would Jack be okay with that? Montgomery said it was fine.
At the police station, Annie pleaded with Scott not to throw his life away, but he said he has to pay for his mistakes. JR showed up and said Scott can claim that he had a mental breakdown. JR explained that will save the company and they can deal with their personal issues later. Still, Scott wanted to do the right thing. Natalia entered and shared that Scott's lawyer was help up in court but he didn't want representation for his confession. JR and Annie were led out of the interrogation room. After Scott blabbed, he told JR and Annie that he didn't implicate them but they must live with the guilt for destroying the family. Scott was taken away and an ungrateful JR vowed to keep his company and his son now that Scott has bailed. JR also pointed out to Annie that nothing stood in their way now.
Wednesday
On the eve of her trial, Jack visited with Greenlee. Jack had to go to his office; Kendall showed up to keep Greens company. Greenlee copped to being stressed about the paparazzi stalking her. She vented about Ryan being found out for having the digitalis in his possession. Kendall thought they should go out. Jack stopped by Krystal's. She gave him a pep-talk, for which he was grateful.
Jesse and Angie discussed having an amnio. She was reluctant, fearful of more bad news. They went to Krystal's, where Jack asked Jesse for a private word. Jesse had a bad reaction to Jack's plan to put Angie on the stand to cast suspicion on her. Jesse told Jack to put him on the stand instead. Across the room, Angie opened up to Krystal about the amnio. Krystal encouraged her to go through with it. The Hubbards went back to the loft. Angie told Jesse that she heard what he'd said to Jack. She also told him that she'd decided to have the amnio.
Krystal refilled Tad's coffee cup; he admitted to being stressed out about a case (Ryan's).
At the penthouse, Ryan assured Madison that they would soon be able to focus on their relationship. Their make-out session was interrupted by a call from Kendall. Given the paparazzi presence at the penthouse, Kendall and Greenlee were seeking suggestions as to how to dodge the press. Madison volunteered to help. She used herself as a decoy to lure the photographers to ConFusion as Kendall, Greenlee and Ryan went back to Kendall's. Jake, Amanda and Bianca showed up to party with them. Kendall admitted to Bianca that it was hard to be back in the house without Zach. Ryan left to go meet back up with Madison, but not before Greens asked him to reconsider Jack using him to support her case. Before Ryan got to Mad, Tad called him. Back at the house, Amanda busted out the karaoke machine. A pensive Greens sneaked outside and recalled bolstering words from Ryan. Madison showed up and Greens invited her to stay. Greens asked Madison if she even wanted her to be acquitted.
Ryan went to ConFusion to meet with Tad. Tad introduced him to a Nick Pearson, who claims that he saw Ryan rushing out of David's room bellowing, "Someone's going to die tonight." Ryan was crestfallen, convinced this meant that he, not Greenlee, killed David. Ryan asked Nick to testify in the hopes that it would exonerate Greens. Nick feared his wife finding out that he'd been in the hotel with a woman that wasn't his wife. Ryan threatened to tell his wife unless Nick complied, so Nick acquiesced. Ryan went back to the Slaters', interrupting Madison and Greenlee's conversation. Before he went in the house, he spoke to Tad, who agreed to keep the news about Nick a secret from everyone but Jack. Kendall left an emotional message for Zach, telling him that she was moving back into the house with the boys and that she "really, really" wanted him to join her. Greenlee approached Ryan and he told her that he was more confident than ever that she'd be acquitted.
Thursday
Erica pep-talked Jack as he prepared to leave for court. Caleb showed up and asked La Kane when she was getting married, explaining that he needed to know she was committed to their partnership. He and Erica discussed their next move in their quest to bring JR down and get Cortlandt back.
Having heard about Scott, Amanda came by to see Annie at the Chandler manse. Annie wondered how she would tell Emma about Scott. Amanda assured Annie that she's not a terrible person.
At the police station, Damon spilled coffee on Liza's blazer. The mayor arrived to make sure that Liza was ready for battle. After a squabble involving how much coffee Liza was drinking, Liza thanked Damon for the good work he'd been doing.
Ryan went to the courthouse and told Jack about what Nick Pearson witnessed. They discussed how to use the info to Greenlee's advantage. When Liza arrived, Jack apologized to her for his recent behavior and vowed to comport himself as a professional during the trial.
Greenlee dreamed about Ryan. She woke up upset and told Kendall she feared that Ryan would go to prison. Kendall did her best to reassure her. They went to the courthouse; Greenlee admitted that she was scared.
Opal went to Scott's jail cell to tell him off for swindling Palmer. Later, she headed to Krystal's, where Caleb approached her and made nice. Opal was pleased with Caleb's outreach. Caleb returned to Wildwind and vowed to Palmer's portrait that he and Erica would get his company back.
Erica paid a visit to Scott to read him the riot act for what he'd done to Palmer. Scott made it clear that he was repentant. Erica tried to get Scott to team with her and Caleb against JR but Scott said he didn't want to tear the families further apart. Scott told Erica that she could do him a favor. Erica then went to see Annie and told her that Scott was willing to see her. Annie deduced that Erica wants Cortlandt Electronics back. Erica urged Annie to repent for Emma's sake. "Serve JR up," Erica purred. Erica stopped by Wildwind to thank Caleb for making amends with Opal. She reported to Caleb that Scott hadn't admitted JR's guilt — yet. Erica was touched when Caleb said he thought Palmer had known what he was doing by making them partners. Meanwhile, Annie rushed to Scott's cell and thanked him for agreeing to see her. Scott told Annie that he knew what he had to do and he was ready for it. It was time, he said, to say good-bye.
Ryan and Annie met at the mansion. Ryan told Annie that he needed her to be there for Emma during the trial. Annie was upset when Ryan explained his plan with Jack to cast suspicion on him to get Greenlee acquitted. Ryan insisted that he wouldn't let it go so far that he ended up in jail. Ryan went to the courthouse and made it clear to Greens that he intended to be there for her during the trial. Greens took her seat next to Jack. Liza sidled up and made one more pitch for Greenlee to take the plea bargain, but she refused. Liza made her opening remarks. Jack followed up with his own opening statement. When court recessed, Ryan told Jack that if it came to it, he would confess to killing David.
Friday
Liza called Jake to the stand as Tad and Ryan discussed Nick Pearson's potential testimony. Kendall saw them talking and grilled Ryan, lamenting that she was torn between Ryan's desire to protect Greenlee and Greenlee's desire to protect Ryan. Kendall said a little too much, prompting Ryan to ask her what it was that Greenlee wasn't telling him. Kendall covered. Jake testified about the night of David's death, doing his best not to damn Greens. When it was Jack's turn to question Jake, Jack focused on Jake's own hatred for the deceased. During a break, Greens tried to go after Ryan, but Kendall stopped her. Greens was determined to prevent Ryan from implicating himself to save her. Next, Jesse took the stand. Liza forced him to admit that Greens had forged the letters to Marissa, Amanda and herself. Jack tried to make Jesse look inept when he grilled him. Another recess was called and Greens chased Ryan into the hallway, telling him that she wouldn't let him take the fall for her. As she ranted, Ryan suddenly grabbed her and kissed her.
Annie was upset when Scott told her that he'd contracted a lawyer to handle their divorce. Annie begged him to reconsider. He refused and beseeched Annie to get herself and Emma out of the house as quickly as possible.
Marissa came by the house and bickered with JR about which of them AJ belonged with. JR vowed not to lose to her or to Caleb. Marissa stormed out, but an arriving Tad heard the tail end of their heated argument. JR told Tad that Marissa had gotten a court order giving her full custody until the court battle was over. Tad quickly figured out that JR had bedded Annie again. Marissa went to see Scott, who said he was doing what he had to do by taking the fall for the nanotech theft. They shared a tear-filled good-bye. JR showed up as Scott was giving Marissa advice on rearing AJ and was outraged. Scott asked Marissa to leave so that he and JR could talk. JR tried to ascertain whether Scott would implicate him to the feds. Scott made it clear that he alone was taking the fall. He explained to JR that he was set to serve a two-year prison sentence with the possibility of parole after one year.
At the prison, Annie found out that all of her accounts were frozen. She ran into JR, who was leaving a message for Colby to call him back regarding Scott. In front of JR and Annie, Scott was led away in handcuffs.
