AMC Week of November 9, 2009
Monday
At the boardinghouse, Aidan thanked Kat for not revealing to Kendall that he and Kat are old acquaintances. She pulled him into a sultry kiss. Kat made it clear that she knows who Kendall is. Kendall came downstairs and Kat gave her the evil eye. Kendall was weirded out by Kat's behavior and suggested to Aidan that they leave. A sheriff arrived looking for Kat and Aidan and Kendall had to talk fast to keep him from catching on to who they really were. Aidan continued to stress to Kendall that she can't make contact with Zach. He went downstairs to talk to Kat, who tried to get him to admit that he's in love with Kendall. Upstairs, Kendall logged on behind Aidan's back and made contact with Zach on the message boards.
At the Chandler mansion, Zach, JR and Jesse worked to revive Adam, who had no pulse. Meanwhile, Adam found himself in a purgatory waiting room. He was greeted by the devil, who bore an uncanny resemblance to David. Adam thought he should be sent straight to hell for killing Stuart. An angel — Annie with wings — arrived to plead Adam's case. Annie pleaded with Adam not to leave her as Angel Annie begged Adam to focus on the future (i.e., the baby Annie claims to be expecting). Adam snapped awake saying "I do!" and Annie beamed that this meant she and Adam are married. The confused minister pronounced them husband and wife. Scott refused to let Zach trail Adam to the hospital, telling him that he and everyone else (e.g., Erica and Ryan) are responsible for killing Stuart. Liza was shocked when Ryan confirmed to her that Adam had shot Stuart.... David tended to Adam while JR and Colby railed at Annie. Marissa listened to the exchange and realized that Annie had been protecting Adam all along. JR and Colby didn't want to believe it.... Annie approached Adam's bedside and Adam beamed, "My angel!" Adam kissed his bride.... In the hallway, JR tried to come to grips with the realization that Adam was the shooter. Marissa reiterated her commitment to her husband.... Annie told Scott that Adam was going to be okay. Scott slipped Annie's wedding ring onto her finger.
At ConFusion, Ryan lamented to Erica that he had almost killed Adam. Erica disagreed with Ryan, saying that it was Adam's guilt that had nearly done him in. Erica asked Ryan to help her believe that they still have a shot at bringing Kendall home; he wrapped his arm around her.
Colby returned to the mansion and Liza told her that yes, at least according to Ryan and Zach, Adam was Stuart's killer. Bailey called but Liza told her that she'd call her back. She apologized to Colby for not having devoted enough time to her lately.
Tuesday
Frankie and Randi made the most of their remaining honeymoon, while a black leather glove touched a photo of them at their apartment. The mystery person ducked into a coat closet when Natalia and Brot came in to set up a little welcome-home shindig. After getting a chilly reception from Angie at ConFusion, Jesse arrived at Frankie's and admitted that he's in the doghouse. Meanwhile, Angie griped to Jake about the mess David created as former chief of staff. Natalia phoned Angie and asked if she could come to the party, but Angie insisted that she was too busy. Nat lied that Jesse had decided to opt out, so Angie agreed. Jesse noticed an open window and asked Brot if he'd opened it. Brot assumed Natalia had opened it, but Jesse seemed suspicious.
Back at the hotel, Frankie and Randi got kinky as he smeared a juicy strawberry all over her. After they made love, Randi asked Frankie if they should turn on his cell phone. Even though he told her to keep the outside world at bay, she powered up the phone ... and saw a text message from an unknown caller: "I need to see you." When Frankie returned from the shower, she showed him the message. "Who is this?" Frankie texted back.
While canoodling with Jake outside Wildwind, Amanda recalled a recurring
nightmare she has about her insemination (in which her hair, strangely,
looks like mom Janet's) and confided her fear that the procedure might not take the first time. Meanwhile, David eavesdropped on the other side of the door. Jake assured her that things would work out. When she came inside, David announced that tomorrow is the big day, then started rambling about making Wildwind a real "home." He asked her to help him totally transform the dark palace into a cozy place. Amanda insisted that her home will always be with Jake. Later, David consulted with Amanda's ob/gyn, who noted that she'd made Amanda aware of how long the conception might take. An eavesdropping Jake confronted David about his attempt to break up Jake and Amanda.
At Liza's, Damon confronted Bailey about lying to her, and Bailey told him
not to give her any crap about her keeping a baby he didn't want. While she was changing Stuart, Damon offered to lure Bailey away from Stuart so that Liza can have the baby all to herself ... presumably for a price. Liza kicked the teen out, then remarked to Bailey that Damon doesn't seem interested in being a father to Stuart. Bailey changed the subject and wanted to get ready for Stuart's checkup. Amanda dropped by to consult with her lawyer, who explained that Amanda is under contract to David until she produces a kid, no matter how long it takes. However, Liza had an idea. She headed to the hospital with Bailey and Stuart and accused David of trying to pull the strings where Amanda's insemination is concerned. Damon, meanwhile, approached Bailey and hinted that Liza wants them out of the picture.
Amanda was sorting through the pile of fabric samples at Wildwind when Jake returned. She was still worried about how long she'd be under David's thumb, but Jake assured her that David would have to kill him before he'd let the doc split them up.
Angie showed up for the bash and was disappointed to see that she'd been hoodwinked and Jesse was there. The honeymooners arrived home to Frankie's quarreling parents. Angie apologized for the drama, and Randi offered to walk everyone to their cars. When Frankie went to hang his coat in the closet, he came face to face with Madison.
Wednesday
Frankie was stunned to discover Madison hiding in his closet. "Boo!" she said. "I thought you were dead," he replied. She explained that her dad had paid people off to fake her death. Randi entered and couldn't believe her eyes. She called Jesse and reported that Madison was alive and in her living room. Madison didn't fight Randi when Randi insisted on tying Madison up. Jesse arrived and Madison explained that she wanted to turn herself in, but Randi and Jesse didn't buy it. Madison pleaded with Frankie to acknowledge hat he believes her. Jesse put Madison in handcuffs and left the apartment with her to bring her to the station. Randi insisted to Frankie that Madison is evil. He admitted that he does believe Madison. Just then, Jesse screamed in the hallway and Frankie and Randi ran out to find that he'd been knocked on the head. Jesse reported that two guys had jumped him and grabbed
Madison.
At the boardinghouse, Kat warned Aidan that she had let Kendall see the newspaper. Aidan raced upstairs, where Kendall was flipping over the headline, which declared that Adam and Annie had wed. Kendall felt that all hope was lost. Aidan tried to calm her down and Kendall thanked him for his support. Aidan's growing feelings for Kendall were obvious. Kendall thought it was time to turn herself in but Aidan insisted that they "see this
through to the end." Downstairs, Kat asked Aidan what was up with him and Kendall; he was reticent to explain it but commented that he was tired of losing in love and didn't plan to this time. Aidan revealed that he had never fallen out of love with Kendall.
Scott and Annie brought Adam home from the hospital. Adam doted on his "pregnant" wife. JR revealed his presence to Adam and Annie and, over Scott's protests, begged Adam to admit to killing Stuart. Adam wouldn't confess and JR stormed out. Scott followed and told JR that JR doesn't really hate Adam. JR told Scott that he wasn't a Chandler but that he wasn't one anymore, either.... Adam went to take a business call and Annie told Scott that she had to get pregnant and fast. Scott thought Annie might kill Adam by making him try to impregnate her so soon after his heart attack.
Zach, Erica and Ryan met to discuss their next move. They thought that JR might be the key to getting Adam to confess. Zach, Erica and Ryan confronted JR at ConFusion about Adam killing Stuart. JR denied knowing who killed Stuart and before leaving, he let it slip that Annie is pregnant. "Oh, no," groaned Ryan, who thought that they needed to choose a different tactic. Zach stormed out, annoyed that Ryan hadn't pushed harder. Ryan speculated to Erica that Annie might be faking her condition. Back at the mansion, Annie put the moves on Adam, but he said he was too tired. He excused himself to take a nap; Ryan then revealed his presence to Annie and called her out on the fact that she was drinking. Annie claimed that it was soda and poured it out. Ryan told Annie that he knows she can't get pregnant and accused her of faking. Annie denied it and tried to conceal that she was shaken by Ryan's words.... Erica barged into the mansion to see Adam and grilled him for info on Annie's pregnancy. She again tried to play on his guilt over how Stuart met his end. He still kept his mouth shut, but was obviously affected.
Via the message board, Kendall told Zach that she was coming home. Zach told him that she had to stay put and revealed to Kendall that Adam, not Annie, killed Stuart. Kendall agreed to stick with the plan and Zach urged her to listen to Aidan. When Aidan came back upstairs, Kendall apologized for how she had acted earlier and embraced him.
Marissa came home to find JR sitting in the dark. He told her that he was now free of the burden of the Chandlers. "It's independence day," he said. JR told Marissa that Adam wasn't his father anymore. JR asked Marissa to dance with him. She obliged. Little Adam entered and JR invited him to join their boogie.
Thursday
Liza and Tad went to ConFusion, where they ran into David. He asked if they knew where Amanda was. Tad replied that she probably had something better to do, like have a root canal. David said he was meeting with Amanda to talk about making a baby. Liza and Tad sat down to eat; Tad chastised her for drawing up the contract to facilitate David's baby plan.
Jake and Amanda snuggled in bed. She began to kiss him, but he asked her not to. He reminded her that she had a contract that said she and Jake couldn't have sex. "Try to keep your eye on the prize," he suggested, nothing that she had to do the procedure that day to get it over with. Jake headed to ConFusion. "Must be a real blow to the ego knowing that you screwed up so royally that your wife has to have a baby with another man," David said snidely. Amanda arrived and told Jake she loved him. Jake said he would see them at the hospital, but David revealed to them that plans had changed and they would be going to a clinic. Jake and Amanda were dubious. David pointed out that they were in a hurry and should leave if they wanted to get it done. He and Amanda headed out. She was alarmed when he pulled off the highway to take a backroad shortcut. Sure enough, they had car trouble and were "stuck." David pretended to call a tow truck, then told Amanda that help couldn't come until morning. Amanda accused him of setting it all up and freaked out. He said they could wait another month. "No!" she exclaimed. "It's now or never." David implied they should just have sex then and there.
Colby was spinning from JR's reveal that Annie was pregnant. "I'm stuck in the nightmare that won't end," Colby declared. They talked about Adam and how he had changed. Colby insisted their real dad was in there. JR replied that he wasn't. Colby was determined to find out for herself.
Ryan and Erica discussed the Annie situation. Ryan promised that Adam would "do right by his brother" once he discovered that Annie wasn't carrying his child. Erica wanted to tell Adam herself, but Ryan stopped her. Erica huffed that she didn't need Ryan's permission. He explained that the truth had to come from Annie herself. "I backed her into a corner; she's going to try something desperate to protect herself and when she does, I will be there," he vowed. Erica fretted that once again, Annie was preventing Kendall's happiness. She stormed off.
Annie freaked out to Scott that Ryan was going to tell Adam that her pregnancy was a fake. "Adam needs to hear it from me," she said. "I'm listening," Adam announced as he walked into the room. She told him it was about the baby. Scott asked if Annie wanted him to tell the truth. She nodded. Unable to do it, Scott fibbed that Annie was worried that Adam wouldn't help her fight for Emma now that Annie was pregnant with their own child. Adam hugged her and assured her that wasn't true. He walked out. Scott told Annie he suspected Ryan was setting her up. "Maybe he told you you couldn't have kids to force you to go to Adam," he pointed out. She asked Scott to throw her down the stairs. She hurried up the staircase. He noted that she wasn't pregnant and didn't really need to fall. They argued.
Colby walked in to hear her father on the phone trying to get full custody of a child. She misunderstood and thought he was talking about his baby with Annie. He explained that he was talking about Emma. She felt left out of his discussion about family. He insisted he loved her. Suddenly, they heard Annie's scream and rushed into the other room. She was laying at the bottom of the stairs. She said it was nothing and she was fine. Adam wanted her to see a doctor.
JR tracked down Liza and said he needed her legal help in declaring Adam insane. Liza said he needed grounds. JR dropped the bomb that Adam killed Stuart. Tad couldn't believe that Annie had been protecting Adam the whole time. "Adam loved Stuart; he worshipped him," Tad noted, adding that Adam wouldn't kill his brother. Liza urged JR to let go of the insanity idea and excused herself from the table. Tad agreed with Liza. Colby met them and chided herself for believing things could be different with Adam. JR promised to always be there for his sister, as did Liza.
Adam took a drink, sighing to Scott that "All my children hate me." Scott tried to talk to him about it, but Adam noted that Annie had bewitched him. He asked Scott if Annie had bewitched him, too. Annie came in, doubled over in pain, and said she thought she was losing the baby.
Ryan found Jake at ConFusion and warned that Annie would be coming to the hospital and faking a miscarriage.... Ryan had Erica meet him at the hospital. "All we got to do now is wait," Ryan said. Erica apologized for snapping at him. "Now is definitely not the time to be acting impulsively," she said. He wanted to talk about their relationship. She smiled that they had agreed to no labels. He pointed out that they would have a lot of time on their hands to spend together once the Annie/Adam situation was over.
Jake went to the nurses' station and asked for the Yellow Pages. He called the clinic to see if Amanda had arrived but couldn't get any information.... While Jake was talking to Erica and Ryan, a nurse came over and told Jake that paramedics had been summoned to the Chandler mansion. Jake told her to ready a room. Ryan and Erica exchanged smirky looks.
Friday
In their out-of-gas vehicle, David and Amanda discussed making a baby, "the old-fashioned way." He mentioned that they made one beautiful little person, they could make another. David pointed out that he cared for Amanda during her time apart from Jake. She refused to defend her marriage to him. David was adamant about having another child but insisted that he didn't want her. Amanda got out of the car to take a walk. She returned with a sprained ankle. The two lamented that Amanda's ovulation period was diminishing. "I just want to get this over with," she sighed. David looked at her. "We can't," she insisted, "because of Jake." "He wouldn't have to know," David replied. David swore on Trevor's life that it would be their secret. A tearful Amanda consented. "Don't talk, and don't look at me," she instructed.
Kendall woke up to find Aidan staring at her tenderly. He was concerned Kendall wasn't taking care of herself. A lonely Kendall thanked him for getting her in touch with Zach via the computer. Aidan left and Kendall sent a message to Zach. Downstairs, Kat was waiting to intercept Kendall and Zach's messages. Kat typed up an e-mail to Kendall, stating that she was Zach. Kat suggested if Aidan wanted Kendall to dump Zach, they needed to make her think that Zach and Liza were an item. Kat responded with a message praising how great Liza has been. Kendall was furious. Aidan returned with a bottle of bubbly. "Crack it open," Kendall huffed. She vented about Zach spending time with Liza. Aidan advised her not to be jealous, then Kendall asked for a minute alone. "Leave the bottle," she instructed. Kendall drank and fretted, then closed her eyes. She dreamed of Zach and Kendall making out. "No!" Kendall screamed. Afterward, Kendall couldn't get the vision of Zach with Liza out of her head. She threw a glass at the wall. Aidan listened outside and smiled.
At ConFusion, Zach told JR and Liza that JR was going to get Adam to confess. JR refused to lie and incriminate his father. JR told Zach not to threaten him and stormed out.
At the Chandler manse, Annie faked pains to pull off a faux miscarriage. Jake got word that Annie was coming in and Ryan and Erica were sure that Annie was faking. Annie panicked when Adam told her that an ambulance was on its way. Moments later, the paramedics arrived. At PVH, Annie was worried as she waited for a doctor to examine her. Scott pointed out that a doctor owes his patient confidentiality. Annie was relieved and thanked Scott.
In the hall, Erica was impressed with Ryan's deduction and gave him a kiss. She thought they were close to bringing Kendall home but Ryan didn't want to jump the gun. Later, Erica found Adam, and Scott cut her off for talking to him. Erica told Scott that she wants the charges against Kendall dropped. "I thought you were honorable like your father," she sniffed. "I guess I was wrong." Later, Erica found Zach and shared the news about Annie's faked miscarriage and how it will lead to Adam confessing and Kendall coming home. Zach was happy at the news.
Back in Annie's room, Jake came in to examine her and Ryan popped his head in to confront her. Ryan insisted Annie's charade was over. Jake was called away, and Annie called Ryan sick and twisted. Annie leaped out of bed and pounded on Ryan's chest, then collapsed. Adam entered and called for help while Ryan stood there saying she was faking. Jake entered and said it was no performance; Annie was unconscious. Soon after, Jake told Adam, Scott, Erica and Ryan that both Annie and the baby were okay. Aside from Adam, the group was stunned.
