AMC Week of November 17, 2008
Monday
Krystal showed up at Adam's with Little A in tow. The kid was having trouble falling to sleep, so Adam comforted him.
At Fusion David and Amanda pulled away from a smooch. David asked her to use some restraint when it comes to JR so their plan can work. He urged her to sober up and told her not to feel guilty about manipulating JR. She got sick and rushed to the restroom. Meanwhile, JR began to take a swig of champagne in the elevator. He hesitated and threw the bottle against the elevator door. After receiving a text from Krystal, he headed to Adam's to pick up
his son. Krystal surmised that Little A just misses his mom and needs to feel connected to her. JR confided that he's also having trouble moving on from Babe's death.
At the hospital, Frankie and Angie found out that Rebecca has only a few weeks to live. In her room, Rebecca plead with Natalia to get her out of the hospital so she can die with dignity and be surrounded by the people she loves. Angie told Frankie she's thinking about letting Rebecca spend her final days at their home. Later, Natalia informed Rebecca she booked a nice hotel room for them. Angie interrupted and invited the women to stay at the Hubbard pad instead. Rebecca declined the offer, but Angie urged her to stop being so selfless and let others take care of her for once.
In Pine Key, Jesse continued to search for Emma. He approached an officer and presented the girl's photo. Then he overheard a radio announcement about several American's disrupting guests at the Palm Hotel and rushed off. Meanwhile, at the hotel, Ryan and Greenlee discovered Annie with Di, who had been shot and fell to the ground. Annie said Di kidnapped Emma; Ryan demanded Di give him some answers. When Ryan turned around, Di grabbed the
gun and fired it. A bullet hit Aidan, who was trying to protect Greenlee and Annie. "This can't be happening!" Annie said just as Jesse arrived with the police. The EMTs also showed up and gave Aidan some oxygen. He was taken to the hospital. Greens tried to follow, but the police wouldn't let her leave, saying they need to interrogate everyone first.
Back in PV, Brot woke up in a cold sweat in the hospital basement. He was tormented by memories of Taylor and the war. Colby, who'd sneaked up on him, tried to comfort him and brought him some food. He urged her to leave him alone, to no avail. He finally agreed to tell her what happened to him during combat, but refused to accept her pity and demanded she leave. Meanwhile, Jake helped Taylor with her physical therapy. Taylor vowed to walk again and they had a pseudo-date over a hospital meal in her room.
Later, Brot eavesdropped on Taylor as she admitted to Jake that she could probably fall in love with him.
Annie, Ryan and Greenlee were taken to the police station and thrown in a cell. Annie gave a statement to the cops, explaining how she discovered Di. As she urged the authorities to find her daughter, Annie flashed back to the moment when she encountered Di. It ultimately revealed how her plan to use Di as a scapegoat had gone terribly awry after Di called her out on setting up Emma's kidnapping. Meanwhile, Ryan confided in Greens that something's
fishy about Di's shooting, but he doesn't think Annie could've set up the entire kidnapping. Annie returned to the cell and told Ryan she doesn't understand the cops aren't focusing on finding Emma. The officer approached to say that Aidan's condition is deteriorating and let Greenlee visit him. Jesse, meanwhile, went through Di's purse and checked her phone for leads. He vowed to find Emma and bring her home. Later, Annie and Ryan tried to
escape, to no avail. Ryan revealed that he'd swiped the guard's keys during the scuffle.
David and Amanda approached Adam's house and watched a grieving JR from a window. David reminded Amanda she needs to find a way to exploit his pain. Amanda had second thoughts about the plan. David suggested Amanda channel Babe to manipulate JR and make their scheme work. Krystal spied David and demanded to know what he's doing on the property. Amanda, meanwhile, approached JR and apologized for kissing him before.
At the hospital in Pine Key, the doctor informed Greenlee that he couldn't remove the bullet from Aidan's body and that her husband is dying. Greenlee refused to accept the prognosis and told the doctor she'll bring someone in to save Aidan's life.
Tuesday
At Pine Key, Greenlee witnessed Di's dead body being taken away, then called Jake to inform him about Aidan getting shot.
Emma woke up asking for Aunt Di. She began to get antsy, locked up in the candlelit chapel. She pulled over a chair and decided to try crawling out the window.
David refused to allow his grandson to remain in the Chandler mansion but Krystal replied that Little A should stay in the only home he's ever known. She also stuck up for JR, saying he's changed but David wasn't buying it. Krystal told David it was time to go.
Inside the Chandler mansion, JR recalled memories of Babe with Amanda. She was surprised, stating that she knows JR doesn't like her. JR replied that Babe did. He asked her to stay a while and chat. Krystal joined Amanda and JR. Amanda gave Krystal a hug. "Sucks, doesn't it? Being sad all the time," noted Amanda. Krystal then left for the night. JR credited Babe for his sobriety and hoped he wouldn't do anything to jeopardize his son's love. Amanda said it was time for her to go. JR thanked her as she left. Outside,
Amanda took a deep breath.
At PVH, Jake told Taylor that all his patients fall in love with him. Just then, Greenlee called with the news that Aidan has been shot. Greens was frantic and begged Jake to come treat Aidan. He agreed. She returned to an unconscious Aidan and told him to hang on.
In jail, Annie and Ryan were anxious to get out and find their little girl. The pair managed to escape using the keys Ryan had swiped and fled.
At PVH, Brot returned to the hospital basement and a worried Colby. Brot ordered Colby to leave but she refused. Frankie nearly caught her with Brot. She lied and said she was napping and talking in her sleep. Colby then tried to piece together Brot's past. He revealed that he knew Frankie and that Taylor was his fiancée. Colby was shocked that Brot would let the woman he loved think he's dead. However, he claimed she wouldn't want or need him in his current condition. Brot asked for Colby's help in getting to the bus station. She offered him a place to stay.
In Pine Key, Jesse showed up at the crime scene, where Ryan and Annie stayed out of sight. As they searched for clues, Jesse spotted the fugitives. He agreed not to turn them in and allowed them to aid in the search. Ryan discovered something that tied to a chapel. A patrol man arrived and held them at gunpoint but Ryan overpowered him and took the gun. He then demanded to know where the nearest chapel was.
Rebecca was being released from PVH. David was surprised to learn that she'd be staying at Angie's. He noted that he thought that was a bad idea. She told him to butt out. Later, Natalia flipped out when she discovered that Rebecca wanted to sign a DNR. However, Rebecca didn't waver on her wishes. Natalia watched her mother sign the document. "Sweetheart, life is about looking forward, not back," Rebecca told her daughter. "I couldn't agree
more," chimed in Angie.
Tad showed up at the hospital and chatted with Taylor. He apologized for Jake's brusque demeanor during her rehab. Taylor said she was grateful that he wouldn't take no for an answer. Later, Taylor had a dream about Brot and wept.
Jake showed up in Pine Key, assessed Adian's condition and prepped for emergency surgery. Aidan regained consciousness and told Greenlee there was something he had to tell her.
Krystal returned home to Tad and was concerned about Little A growing up in the Chandler mansion. Tad tried to ease her fears.
Jesse, Ryan and Annie showed up at the chapel as smoke billowed out. The men broke down the door and saw the place ablaze. Ryan rushed in as Jesse held back a screaming Annie.
Wednesday
At the Slater house, Bianca and Zach recorded messages for Kendall's doctor to play for their comatose loved one. Reese joined them and they chatted about Gabrielle's imminent christening. The trio then reminisced about the night in France that resulted in Zach agreeing to be their sperm donor. Binks asked Zach if he and Kendall would be the baby's godparents. Zach said he would be honored, as would Kendall when she came home. Binks went to bed; Reese and Zach stayed up and chatted. When Gabrielle became fussy, Reese went to get her bottle and Zach cuddled with her. Bianca, Miranda, Gabrielle and Reese snuggled in bed while Zach held Ian close.
At the hospital, Aidan tried to tell Greenlee about his role in Emma's kidnapping. He lost consciousness before he could do so and Jake rushed him into surgery.
Annie, Jesse and Ryan worked to save Emma after Ryan dragged her out of the burning church. After Emma started breathing, Jesse took Ryan aside to discuss Annie's obvious role in the kidnapping but Ryan demanded that the chat wait until Emma was safe and sound. They got to the hospital, where Greenlee was relieved to see Emma. The cops started to arrest Annie but Ryan attacked them.... Ryan and Greens put their heads together and wondered if
Aidan had been trying to tell Greenlee that he'd known all along that Annie had staged the kidnapping. Jake came out of the OR and told them that it didn't look good. He recommended that Aidan be transported immediately back to Pine Valley. Annie came out of Emma's room and pointedly reminded Greenlee that the bullet Aidan took had been intended for her (Greens). Jesse got the local cops to release Annie and Ryan into his custody. Ryan promised Greens that Annie wouldn't get away with what she had done. Ryan had a happy reunion with Emma.
Brot's mom came to the hospital to see Frank. Colby, who was sneaking Brot out of the hospital, and Brot saw her and Colby was horrified to realize that Mrs. Monroe doesn't know that her son is alive.... Taylor dreamed about Brot, then left a message for Jake. Frank brought Mrs. Monroe in to see her. Mrs. Monroe apologized for having pretended before that she didn't know about Brot's relationship with Taylor. Alone with Frank, Taylor told her friend that she's been strongly sensing Brot's presence. She admitted that she may love Jake and demanded that Frank tell her what was clearly weighing on him. Frank cryptically told Taylor to stay focused on the future. He advised Taylor not to let Brot keep her from moving forward.
Petey came to see Adam at the mansion in the middle of the night. He expressed concern for a missing Colby. Adam scoffed that Colby was probably just hiding from Pete. Adam called Colby and the girl fibbed that she was en route to a friend's house. Adam told a crushed Pete to go back to work at Fusion. Pete pretended to leave for the night, but sneaked back in. When Colby and Brot came home, Pete accosted Colby and demanded to meet his competition. He stormed into the study and came face-to-face with Brot. Colby ordered Pete to leave but Brot said he wanted to go, instead. Colby led Brot away and told Pete that Brot is just a guy she's helping out. When Pete wouldn't drop the matter, Colby sent him home.
Thursday
Erica came to see Adam, who assumed that she wanted him to be her date to Gabrielle's christening. She denied it.... JR tossed and turned, awash in memories of Babe.
Amanda showed up at Wildwind at David's behest. He demanded that she change into a dress that once belonged to Babe. Amanda had reservations, so David ranted about JR's awfulness.
Zach told a comatose Kendall about Gabrielle's imminent christening. Zach spoke to Kendall's doctor, demanding a progress report and expressing his growing impatience. He left Kendall with an audio recording of their sons. Kendall opened her eyes briefly, but no one was there to see it.
At the Slater house, Bianca secretly phoned Reese's family and was upset when they hung up on her. Reese entered and Binks covered; talk turned to the idea of expanding their family (Reese said she would carry the next child). Erica came over and called Fusion (which was now bedecked in Erica's image) to talk to Amanda; Randi tried to cover up for the fact that Amanda wasn't there, but Erica could tell. Amanda walked in and Erica read her the riot act over the phone. La Kane explained her plans for a fundraiser to benefit victims of the tornado. She put Randi in charge of the project to punish Amanda. The minister came over to the house and broke the news that he wasn't going to perform the christening because Gabrielle has two mommies. Erica went off on Father Logan and sent him on his way.... Bianca stopped short of telling Erica about Reese's family. She welcomed Zach and Jack over to the house. Miranda chirped about how beautiful Erica looked and asked Jack to concur (he did). With a new, female minister in place, Gabrielle's (full name: Gabrielle Amanda Williams Montgomery) christening unfolded, with Kendall's presence sorely missed. Later, Binks filled in Erica about Reese's parents and La Kane assured her that Reese had all the family she needed. Reese opened up to Zach about her fears about parenting; he offered her reassurance.
Tad brought breakfast in bed to Krystal, who was too depressed to get up. He delivered a heartfelt pep talk about how important it was that she not remain mired in grief. Krystal took offense, snapping at Tad about how long he mourned for Dixie and accusing him of still carrying a torch for his late wife. Krystal got dressed and stormed out. She went to Wildwind to see David
and broke down crying in his arms (much to David's delight). He got a call from Amanda, who, irked by her lack of power at Fusion, told him there plan was a go. Tad, meanwhile, opened up to JR about his problems with Krystal. Amanda called to lure JR over to Fusion.... David expertly played on Krystal's vulnerability, reminding her of the night they met and the miracle (Babe) they had created. Krystal appeared to be falling under David's spell.... JR flipped when he got to Fusion and found Amanda clad in Babe's dress. He started to attack her.
Friday
At Wildwind, Krystal pulled back when David tried to kiss her. She bolted and returned home to face Tad after their fight. The spouses exchanged apologies for their squabble and Krystal opened up about how much she misses Babe. She beseeched Tad to make love to her. She then had another nightmare about being in bed with David. David, meanwhile, pored over pictures of Babe.
JR attacked Amanda at Fusion, enraged over Amanda wearing Babe's dress. Erica intervened and JR stormed out. Erica urged Amanda to file charges; Amanda insisted that she had provoked JR. Amanda changed into a new outfit while Erica ordered Randi to set up a staff meeting. At the meeting, she introduced her new hires, Elizabeth and Joanna. Pete's enthusiasm irked Amanda. Erica tapped Randi to be the new face of Fusion. Greenlee entered
and demanded to know what the hell Erica thought she was doing. The women spoke privately and exchanged barbs as Erica revealed that she had Kendall's proxy.... Amanda avoided Randi's questions about her change of clothes. Randi said she wasn't worried about her johns outing her to the press if she became the face of the company. Greens told the ladies that she would sooner let her roots grow out than let Erica control Fusion.
Amanda went to Wildwind and blasted David for how his scheme backfired. David wouldn't let Amanda give up on their plan.
Jake rushed Aidan in to the ER. Jack reunited with Greenlee and Angie arrived to check out Emma, who was there with her parents. Jack updated Greens on Kendall's situation; Greenlee was stunned to learn that Kendall had been moved to Canada. Ryan told Greenlee that he had a plan to ensure that Annie didn't get away with faking Emma's kidnapping. Angie gave Emma a clean bill of health.
Ryan and Annie brought a shaken Emma home. Ryan assured his daughter that the three of them were still a family. Annie believed Ryan when he said he wanted to focus on their future. He then told Annie that he knows she set up the entire kidnapping and framed Di to take the fall. She denied it. He pretended that he was impressed by the depth of her love for him. He pressed her to admit her role in the kidnapping. She responded by picking up a gun and training it on him.
JR returned home. He broke down to Adam over Babe but rebuffed Adam's efforts to comfort him.... Erica came to the Chandler manse and told Adam that JR tried to rape one of her employees. JR gave his side of the story and Adam strongly warned his son against trusting Amanda, who JR now said was not trying to manipulate him.
Greens went back to the hospital to see Aidan. Jake said he needed immediate surgery. Greens felt guilty about having to authorize the operation given how far apart she and Aidan were. Greens was about to sign the consent form when Aidan woke up and told her not to.
Jesse was thrown when he got home and found Rebecca there. Rebecca explained that Angie had invited her and Natalia to live with them. Angie came home and Jesse thanked his wife for her generosity. Angie prepared dinner and felt like a third wheel with Jesse and Rebecca. She ended up rushing out, upset. Once alone with Jesse, Rebecca admitted that she'd known she was dying when she told Jesse to go back to Angie. Jesse and Rebecca enjoyed each other's company while Angie was heavy with feelings of isolation.
