AMC Week of May 5, 2008
Monday
At Fusion, Kendall tried to dissuade Greenlee from running after Africa-bound Aidan, saying she needs Greenlee's help with the big Japanese sell. Meanwhile, scheming Annie made some finishing touches on the presentation for the Japanese businessmen and uploaded the stripper pole video. When the presentation began, everyone was shocked by the video; Annie played dumb. After, Greenlee blasted Annie for trying to sabotage the sale. Kendall apologized profusely to the amused Japanese men, who bought the perfume anyway.
Zach explained to Aidan how they started an AIDS project in Africa together before his amnesia and that one of the doctors involved in the program, Jake Martin, was recently kidnapped. Meanwhile in Darfur, Jake (hello, Ricky Paull Goldin!) expertly extracted a bullet from a soldier's wound. Back in Pine Valley, Aidan agreed to keep the situation on the DL since Jake is Tad's brother and offered his help. The men agreed to let Jake out safely; Aidan vowed to not let Tad lose another loved one. Later, Aidan gathered maps of the area and they decided to meet tomorrow to devise a plan of attack.
At the Comeback, Krystal didn't believe Tad's claim that Adam's faking his crazy routine. She berated Tad for mocking Adam and consulted Angie (who'd shown up with Jesse) on the matter. Tad expressed his concern to Jesse over a game of pool, admitting that he's worried Adam's using the insanity bit to manipulate Krystal. Angie agreed to talk to Adam for Krystal and suggested
he visit a psychiatrist. Jesse, meanwhile, offered to help Tad search for Kate. Later, Tad received a call with a lead on Kate.
Cassandra phoned her mom to say she's staying over at Colby's for the night. Angie was curious how the girls even know each other. After the teens left Jesse and Angie's apartment, a lurking Robert put on leather gloves and continued searching for the stuffed elephant.
At Chandler manse, a frightened Adam eyed Dixie's ghost in a mirror. He called out to her, then surmised his anti-anxiety medication is responsible for the hallucination. Adam freaked out again when he saw Kate's adoption certificate in his briefcase (the one he tried to destroy by ingesting!). Ghost Dixie appeared and blasted Adam for keeping Kate's adoption papers from Tad. She urged him to hand them over and admit his lie, lest she continue haunting him. Later, Colby and Cassandra walked in on Adam talking to himself.
Aidan caught up with depressed Annie, who planted a big smooch on him then quickly dismissed it, reminding herself that "we're just good friends.".... Back in Darfur, Jake's captors locked him up in a dark cell.
Tuesday
In Zach's office, Zach and Ryan worked together on the rescue mission in Darfur but found time to discuss Ryan's feelings for Kendall. Ryan opened up about his feelings for his kids and his lack of romantic love for Annie.
At The Comeback, Tad felt confident that he was on track to finding Kate. He and Jesse set off for the bar Hazel now ran. Per Jesse and Tad's scheme, Jesse won Hazel's trust by besting a group of thugs (who had been paid off by Tad and Jesse). Tad gazed at Dixie's pic and prayed that the ruse would work.
Adam was offended when JR, still on guard after the paper-eating incident, questioned Adam's sanity. JR told Babe about Adam's odd behavior. Upon hearing Dixie's voice again, Adam phoned a surprised Opal, who came over to the manse at his request. Adam asked Opal to figure out if his house is haunted.
In Darfur, Aidan was taken hostage by the rebels and thrown into the same cell as Jake. Jake recognized Aidan. Jake quickly realized that Aidan had wanted to be kidnapped in order to free Jake.
Kendall tried to take Greenlee's mind off Aidan by arranging for a private showing at a bridal gown boutique. Krystal and Angie showed up on their own shopping mission and the gals invited them to stay. The four ladies tried on gowns and bonded. An emotional Angie found the perfect dress.
Richie went to the park to meet with Treena, who tried to strongarm him for more money. Babe took Little Adam to the park and saw Richie with Treena.
Wednesday
Babe reeled when she spied Richie and Treena together in the park. She summoned Krystal and lamented to her mama that she owed JR big for not having believed that Richie was in cahoots with Treena. Richie's efforts to fast-talk Treena out of her desire to blackmail him for more money were interrupted by Babe striding in and snapping a pic of the duo with her camera phone. Treena left and Babe pretended to Richie that she bought his lame excuses about why he was meeting with the prostitute. Treena followed Babe and taunted her about JR; Babe responded by decking her.
At Zach's office, Greenlee and Zach discussed the open case of his hit and run. Greens was relieved when Zach said he had a way to monitor Aidan's location in Darfur.
Adam asked Opal for her help in determining if his house was haunted. Dixie enjoyed making her presence known (solely to Adam), driving Adam mad and making Opal believe that Adam is nuts. Adam would not reveal the identity of the ghost he claimed to see and Opal ultimately became so frustrated that she packed up her mystical tools and left. Dix told Adam that if he wanted her gone, all he had to do was tell the truth. She added that she is there to save him, too. At Dixie's behest, Adam looked in the mirror — and was greeted with an image of burning flames.
Tad watched from the street as Jesse charmed Hazel in an effort to get info on Kate's whereabouts. Hazel, however, was not interested in ponying up any clues about the missing girl. Just as Hazel was warming up to the idea, Tad's cover was blown by some bikers. Tad pleaded his case and Hazel finally capitulated, divulging that Kate had been taken to New Mexico. Tad was elated.
NuColby — er, Colby — and Frank encountered JR at the hospital. Colby left so that Frank could examine JR, but she returned in time to hear Frank again dismissing the idea of a relationship with her.
Julia informed Joe and Angie that she is moving to Australia with Kathy to accept a position as head nurse at a prestigious hospital. Joe confessed to Julia that he is worried because he hasn't heard from Jake in awhile.
Thursday
From the prison, Erica spoke to Opal on the phone. Opal vowed to find a way to get her pal home. She then played cards with Carmen, who pressed La Kane for details about her involvement with Samuel Woods — a conversation Erica didn't want to have. Opal, meanwhile, asked Palmer for help extricating Erica from jail. Palmer was uncooperative but Opal realized there was
another way to go: Warren Buffet. Opal pleaded her case by phone to Buffet, who was sympathetic and agreed to help.
At The Comeback, Babe told JR about seeing Treena in the park, and she apologized to JR for having doubted him. JR was tickled when Babe copped to having decked Treena. The tenderness between JR and Babe was obvious.
Annie met up with Richie at the park. He knew she had faked the home invasion and said if he wanted her to keep her secret, she'd have to pay him. Annie adamantly denied Richie's spot-on accusations, but with her back against a wall, she wrote him a check and told him to stay away from her for good.
In Darfur, Jake and Aidan got out of their restraints. Jake was shocked to learn that Aidan was engaged to his ex-girlfriend, Greenlee. Back in Pine Valley, Kendall, Zach, Ryan and Greenlee attempted to look at a real-time image of Aidan but the helicopter pad in question had been blown up, causing Greens to freak. Zach told Kendall that he now trusted Ryan around her and trusted her completely. Ryan and Zach worked frantically to get the rescue mission back on track.... Jake made it clear to Aidan that he had no intention of returning to Pine Valley.... The militants communicated with Aidan and Jake, demanding a ransom for their release. Greens and Kendall were stunned when they saw a video transmission of Aidan and he was with Jake. When the screen went fuzzy, Greens gasped, "Aidan, no!"
Friday
Opal visited Erica at the prison and brought a special friend: Warren Buffet. Opal's plan was to get Warren to use his influence to free Erica from jail. Warren's plan was to make Erica into his bridge partner. La Kane was supremely irritated with Opal.
Jesse and Angie introduced Cassandra to Tad and Krystal at The Comeback. Joe arrived and met Cassie. Julia brought Kathy and Tad was dismayed to hear that Julia was moving to Australia with her little girl. After Tad left, Krystal and Frank discussed his friendship with Colby (Krystal was worried about Colby's crush on the older Frank).... Angie filled in Krystal about how she had found Cassie in an alley as a baby.
At home in bed, Adam continued to be tortured by Dixie's presence — and continued to refuse to bring Kate's whereabouts to Tad's attention. Dix stressed that lives were in the balance but Adam didn't buy it. He believed Dixie didn't want to face Tad. Stuart showed up and Adam told him he was being haunted by Dixie. He asked his brother to talk to Dixie and convince her to leave. Stuart gave it his best shot. It didn't work. Adam left on a business drip and Dixie's spirit stowed away on the plane, much to Adam's dismay.
At the Cambias office, Zach, Ryan and Kendall tried to keep Greenlee from assuming the worst after the explosion in their Darfur cell. Tad showed up and demanded an explanation when he found out that his brother was the prisoner Aidan had gone overseas to rescue.... Zach questioned his own intentions for sending Aidan to Darfur. Tad figured out that Zach knew about Kendall and Aidan's one-night stand and blasted Zach for sending Aidan away. Tad then returned to the Comeback to tell Joe that Jake was dead. Before he did, Angie, who was by now back at the hospital, tended to a patient: Jake. Jake ordered her not to alert his family. Back at Cambias, Greenlee was overjoyed when Aidan miraculously materialized.
