Jake raced Amanda to the hospital with labor pains. David and Jake waited
while Amanda was being examined. Jake told David that he loves Amanda and
intended to protect her. David said that he would never let a Martin raise
his child.

Krystal and Marissa chatted at the yacht club. Marissa confirmed to Krystal
that she is staying in town for now, which pleased Krystal. Krystal went to
the hospital and overheard David offering to pay Jake for Amanda's baby.
Jake refused the check but Krystal railed at her husband. David went to the
yacht club to see for himself that Marissa was staying. He told his daughter
that it was his fault that Krystal had been put in the position to sell
Marissa. David lamented how he had let his hatred for the people in Pine
Valley to dominate his life. When he returned to Wildwind, Krystal was
packing. He tried to talk her out of leaving him but she would not be
dissuaded. She took off her wedding ring and left.

Kendall was stunned to find Annie in the cell next to hers. Annie accused
her of killing Stuart. Kendall apologized for having failed to respect Annie
as Emma's mother. Annie forgave her and explained how she had come to turn
herself in. Kendall then met with her attorney, Jack. He proposed a
temporary insanity defense. She said it was tempting to agree ‹ but it would
be a lie.

Erica accused Liza of having framed Kendall for murder and of having
returned to town to kill Adam. Liza said she would never do it because she
would lose Colby forever. They traded barbs and a catfight nearly ensued
until Adam intervened. Erica said she would wait to attack Liza until after
her baby was born. Liza told Colby that she wanted to be there for her and
praised Adam for how he'd brought her up. Back at the house, Colby got upset
with Erica when Erica spoke ill of Liza to her and stormed out. Erica gazed
at a photo of Stuart. When Adam entered, Erica tried to console him,
speaking of her own mother's death. Adam thanked her for all that she had
done for him. "I guess this is where we part company," he said. Erica took
offense at his "dismissal." She asked Adam what he saw when he looked at
her. "I see a woman," he assured her, embracing her.

Jake rejoined Amanda, who'd had false labor pains. After he left, Liza went
into Amanda's hospital room, where Amanda was weeping. She told Liza that
David is her baby's father. Liza said that explained why she was so upset.
Liza saw Jake in the waiting room and blasted David for tormenting Amanda.
She told Jake that she had changed her mind about raising Amanda's baby
because she knows that David will be too relentless. Liza planned to stage a
miscarriage. They discussed how things would have been different if Adam
hadn't switched the sperm samples. Unbeknownst to them, Colby overheard, and
was understandably crushed.

Adam regaled Scott and JR with tales from his Pigeon Hollow childhood with
Stuart. Adam fought back tears as he pronounced that his brother was "the
brave one, the good one, the one who should still be alive." Adam thought he
would die soon himself. Adam apologized for pitting Scott and JR against
each other. The cousins promised to work as a team and shook hands, calling
each other brother. JR then went to the yacht club and saw Marissa, telling
her that he intended to help Scott any way he could. JR thought that Marissa
was sticking around for Scott. She denied it. When Scott entered, JR excused
himself. Scott asked Marissa to spend the afternoon hanging out, which she
was happy to do.
