All My Children Recaps
AMC Week of March 8, 2010
Monday
At the Chandler mansion, Adam picked up on Brooke's curiosity as to why he married Annie. He relayed the story of how he fell in love with Annie. At the hospital, Annie panicked during the bone marrow procedure; Angie tried to get her to relax. Angie called Adam to come to the hospital. Annie was upset that Angie had phoned him. Adam arrived and tried to soothe Annie by reassuring her of his love. Annie's vitals returned to normal and she told Angie that she was ready to resume the procedure.
Back at the house, Brooke and Scott got caught up. Brooke saw that Annie had been doing some online research about her. Brooke expressed concern for Adam. Scott updated Brooke on Adam's health; Brooke resolved to talk some sense into Adam about taking it easy. Brooke arrived at the hospital and became privy to Annie's status as JR's bone marrow donor before slipping away unseen. She then told Adam what she knew.
Greenlee railed at Ryan for trying to throw David in jail. Greens tried to get Natalia to arrest Ryan. Nat went to check on the manhunt for David. Greenlee seethed that if David goes to jail, she'd make him regret it. Before stalking out, Greens claimed that if David goes on the run, she'll find him and stay by his side.
Erica and David traded "you double-crossed me" threats. David tied her up the same way she had tied him up. She demanded that he free her. He refused. David told Erica that when he saw her lying in the pool of fake blood, he would have done anything to save her life. She said she knew; she'd seen the look in his eye. David told Erica that he wanted the ten million dollars he'd invested in Fusion back. She said that she didn't have the funds available. She warned him that if he went on the run, he could be killed. She said she'd help him escape if he got Greenlee to leave with him. Erica noted that David has feelings for Greenlee.
Jake and Natalia went to Jesse with David's confession. Greenlee showed up to defend her husband. Jesse suggested that Greens get David a lawyer. Jake told Greenlee that one day, he'd thank her. Greenlee and Natalia started going at it. Greens threatened to sue both Jesse and Natalia. They failed to get her to reveal David's whereabouts to them. Once alone, Jesse took Natalia to task for her rule-breaking means of getting the goods on David, then complimented her ("You done good, kid").
Ryan went to Jake and Amanda's, where Gayle remained panic-stricken. Ryan assured Gayle that she would get immunity for her testimony against David. Jake came home and Ryan stressed the importance of finding David. Ryan told Jake about his confrontation with Greenlee. Ryan revealed that he had slipped his phone into Greenlee's purse to track her via GPS.
Greenlee was upset when she got back to Wildwind and David wasn't there. She got a call from Erica's cell phone and was thrilled when it turned out to be David. He promised he that he'd be careful. Back at the penthouse, Erica struggled to free herself. Greenlee walked in and cackled hysterically at the sight of her rival tied up.
Tuesday
At the hospital, the Chandlers and Martin rallied around Marissa, who was relieved that a match had been found for JR. Colby seethed about Annie having gone to a spa. Meanwhile, Adam confirmed to Brooke that Annie is JR's donor. Brooke expressed concern for Adam's health. He downplayed his condition. After an update from JR's doctor, Adam stressed to Colby that the donor wishes to remain anonymous. Adam then went to gaze at his son. Krystal and Marissa had a heart-to-heart. Colby fantasized about reuniting with JR and teaming with him to get rid of Annie. Marissa fantasized about a date night with her husband. Tad left a message for Liza letting her know that they were starting JR's marrow transplants, then fantasized about spending Father's Day with JR. Brooke went to check on Annie. Adam then had a fantasy about a warm reunion with his son. The Chandlers gathered to watch the transplant begin. Complications quickly arose and it looked like JR might not pull through.
Jake and Ryan used the GPS device that Ryan had slipped into Greenlee's purse to track her, hoping she'd lead them to David. Ryan realized that she'd gone to Erica's penthouse. Ryan decided to go there.
Greenlee cackled with delight upon finding Erica tied up in her penthouse. Erica said that David wasn't there. Erica told Greens that she knows David had left a clue for Greenlee as to his whereabouts and she said that she wanted to help David get away. Greenlee didn't buy it and found an envelope with her name on it but didn't let on to Erica. She did reveal to Erica that she'd found the key to her handcuffs. With glee, she left without uncuffing La Kane. Ryan arrived in time to see her go. He burst into the penthouse and freed Erica. He told Erica about the GPS. She was delighted. Ryan was baffled when the GPS indicated that Greenlee had gone to the hospital.
Jesse told Angie that David Hayward may finally be going down. David busted into Angie's office to take his passport out of a secret drawer. After he left, Jake and Angie chatted in Angie's office about the David situation and Angie's doubts about her job as Chief of Staff. Later, Angie got a bouquet of flowers from Jesse and smiled to herself. She got a call from her hubby and thanked him.
Greenlee and David reunited in the hospital chapel; he was disguised as a priest. David insisted to Greenlee that he had to leave Pine Valley alone. She begged him to reconsider. He maintained that leaving was the only way he had to protect her. When Emma phoned, Greenlee and David realized that Ryan had put his phone in her bag to track them. He thanked her for supporting him and assured her that he'd be back. Greens then sat down for a chat with Jake in the chapel and was there when Ryan and Erica entered. Greens did her best to pull off a "David wasn't here" act. David, meanwhile, escaped to the tunnels of the Chandler mansion.
Wednesday
JR's health was fading fast; the Chandlers panicked as doctors worked to revive him. Adam and Brooke spotted Annie out of bed. Brooke went to tend to her and revealed that she knows Annie is the donor. Brooke told Annie that she wouldn't tell anyone. Brooke broke the news that JR didn't respond well to the transplant. Annie feared that if JR died, everyone would blame her. Brooke told Annie that she used to be just like Annie. To prove it, she listed some of her own past offenses (e.g., blackmailing her aunt, Phoebe). The women came close to genuinely bonding — but after Brooke left, Annie made it clear that she did not appreciate Brooke's intervention or advice.... Angie rushed to help the doctors. Tad told Jesse that he could "feel her" and wandered off to the chapel. Jesse followed. Tad told Jesse that he's been feeling a pull toward Dixie. "Am I going crazy?" he wondered.... Angie told Adam that JR had gone into shock and was on medication. "He may not have the strength to pull out of this," Angie warned. Angie advised Marissa to go tell JR whatever she wanted to tell him; otherwise, it might be too late. Colby tried to hold it together; Liza tried to comfort her. Marissa asked Krystal how she could say good-bye to JR. Adam told Scott that he refused to say good-bye to his son.
In heaven, JR told Dixie that he wanted to stay with her. They bickered over the past. Dixie reminded JR that he has a son who needs him. Dixie told JR to come listen to the good-byes his loved ones were saying to him. First, JR heard Scott, then Colby, who became overwhelmed and ran out. Dixie accused JR of having been so self-involved that he'd put Colby "on the shelf" most of the time. Dixie heard Tad discussing her with Jesse and said, "I miss you, too."
At the Martin house, Damon and Opal caught AJ trying to leave the house. "I want to go see my daddy," he said. Opal took AJ to the hospital, where Marissa broke the news that JR was asleep. Opal took the boy to go see his grandpa. JR heard Marissa discussing him with Angie; he and Dixie then listened in on Krystal's good-bye to JR. A vision of Babe's ghost materialized before JR. JR chased after her but the door between them slammed shut. JR was filled with regret over the time he'd wasted with Babe. JR listened as Marissa cried and spoke at his bedside. Adam saw Tad and bellowed that he didn't want Tad to say good-bye to JR. "Tell him to fight," said Adam. "He'll listen to you." Tad looked stunned. Brooke tried to comfort Adam but he dashed off. Marissa rejoined AJ and told the child that his daddy is really sick. "Is Daddy gonna die like Mama?" queried AJ. "We don't know, honey," answered Marissa honestly. In heaven, Dixie and JR were both impressed by Marissa. JR told Dixie that he was seeing himself clearly for the first time and was disgusted by his own selfishness. At JR's bedside, Tad spoke to JR about Dixie. He urged JR to hold on. In heaven, Dixie noted that she was on the same page as Tad. Tad went back to the chapel and prayed to Dixie to send JR home. Adam brought AJ in to JR's room and asked everyone else to leave. He placed AJ's hand in JR's. JR began walking away from Dixie. She blew him a kiss. On earth, JR began coughing.
Colby rushed into the Martin house, upset, and Damon hugged her after she confessed that JR is dying. Colby blamed herself for having run away from the hospital during her family's time of need. Damon said he could relate to the instinct to run, making reference to Bailey and Stuart. Liza entered and Colby asked her to take her back to the hospital. Colby thanked Damon on the way out.
Thursday
At the hospital, the Chandler family got an update on JR's condition and were elated to learn that he's going to be fine. Later, Adam and Marissa went in to see him after he woke up. JR asked after A.J. They encouraged him to rest and told him that all of his family is together now. Meanwhile, Dixie's spirit visited Tad, who was taking a nap in the chapel. He was thrilled to see her and said he could sense her presence for days. She said she wasn't responsible for JR pulling through, but Tad didn't believe it. They discussed how proud they are of JR. Dixie urged Tad to be there for her son. Dixie then told Tad to be happy about his life and said how much she loves watching him with little Kathy. She assured him that he's a good father and said he'll be with all of his children some day. He urged her to stay, but they shared an emotional good-bye. "I don't want to wish for you; I just want you," Tad declared. Then Dixie vanished.
At ConFusion, Greenlee took charge and gave both Madison and Randi some orders. Jack showed up and assumed that Greens was going to end her marriage to David since he turned himself in and split. He urged her to move on and start fresh, but she was insistent that she and David will stay together. She wanted Jack to represent David but he refused. They argued about David's real intentions with Greens. Jack refused to help Greens with David and left. Greens took out her frustrations on Randi. Then she got a call from David, who was on a disposable cell phone. She went to find David at the cemetery and got mad when cops followed her to Leo's grave. After they left, she saw David and they hugged. Greens blamed herself for his situation and pleaded him not to leave her, insisting Ryan has nothing to do with things.
At the police station, Jesse gave Ryan an update and they discussed David's possible hiding spots. Meanwhile, David peered out from behind a mausoleum in the cemetery and visited Leo's grave site, explaining that he married Greens to protect her and that she's been a good friend to him. Then he said he has no choice but to leave town ' and Greens. Jesse couldn't help noticing how calm Ryan is being about the whole situation. Ryan said he's playing it cool so David doesn't get off easy. Later, Jack told Ryan about what Greenlee wanted him to do and was still livid. Ryan said he thinks he's got a solution to the Greens/David alliance. Jack urged him not to give up on Greens. Ryan suggested that Greens is holding Hayward close because she knows that he hates him and is going to give he exactly what she wants.
Liza urged Damon to focus so they can prepare for his testimony. He took a call, telling Liza he called his mom to tell her about the trial but she's not coming. He was visibly upset; Liza was compassionate. Afterward, she looked up Hillary Miller on her phone.
Tad returned to the waiting room at the hospital and told Brooke that he had a weird dream about Dixie trying to tell him something about his children but he can't figure out what it meant. Adam gave Annie an update on JR. She tangled with Colby (again) and was miffed when Adam suggested she leave. Colby continued to browbeat Annie about what she's done for JR to deserve to be there. Adam broke it up. Outside, Brooke confided to Angie that she's worried about Adam's health and pointed out all that he's been through the last year. She encouraged Adam to go home with Annie and get some rest. Angie, meanwhile, informed JR that his donor wants to remain anonymous. JR told Marissa that he's going to fight for his family from now on. JR then fell asleep and had another vision of Dixie who sweetly sang, "You Are My Sunshine" to him.
Liza asked Tad to meet her at the police station and bring Colby. Then she and Damon, now wearing a spiffy suit, left. There, Colby and Damon caught up and thanked each other for their support during the difficult times they've had. An irritated Tad pulled Damon aside told him to stop the Eddie Haskell act and was annoyed when the teen didn't even know who Eddie Haskell is. He then gave Damon some advice: be genuinely remorseful on the stand if he wants to stand a chance. Liza then told Tad that the kid's bailed at the last minute and informed him that Damon's mom is his ex, Hillary Wilson.
Ryan showed up and tried to strike a deal with Greenlee, promising to leave her alone for good if she gives up David. Meanwhile, Jesse went to the cemetery and deduced that David was there because he found the chaplain collar. David, however, was spying on Annie and a sobbing Adam.
Friday
Adam was having a heart episode, but assured Annie that he was okay and wanted to celebrate Annie saving JR. After Annie left to get champagne, Adam frantically searched for his medication. Brooke walked in on Adam and expressed her concern for his health. He told Brooke not to worry about it. Adam admitted he was glad that Brooke was back to take the weight of Tempo off of his shoulders. Brooke warned him that he couldn't fool her, continuing to push the idea that Adam needed to take it easy. Adam headed upstairs. David watched the conversation from the tunnels.
Tad and Liza discussed the news of Damon's mother being Hillary Wilson. Neither thought Damon was aware of his mother's past with Tad. Liza coached Colby on how to act in court and what to say to help Damon. As Liza, Damon and Colby left for court, Opal walked in to see Tad. Tad informed Opal about Damon's mother, which shocked her. The two sat down and began to discuss the history of Tad and Hillary. An optimistic Colby and Damon returned. Damon told Colby, Tad and Opal about his strained relationship with his parents. Liza then called Tad into the hearing. Upon Tad's return, Damon thanked him for testifying on his behalf. Tad told Damon that he simply told the truth to the judge. Liza returned with Damon’s sentence: probation and community service, which had to be supervised by a court-approved adult. Damon accepted the fact that his parents would not come to his rescue and was resigned to be unable to take the deal. Tad decided to volunteer. Jesse questioned why Tad would do this for an ex-girlfriend’s kid. Through Jesse's inquisition, Tad admitted to seeing Hillary before she was married. Jesse wanted to know if they just talked or if something else had happened, but Damon interrupted their conversation. Tad went to get approved by the judge.
Once again, Greenlee insisted to Ryan that she did not want to be with him and wanted him out of her life. Ryan agreed, but under one condition: She had to give up David. Greenlee refused Ryan's offer and told him he had already taken David away from her. Ryan pressed the issue of David still being in Pine Valley, but Greenlee claimed David had gotten away. Greenlee ranted about how everything had gone to hell, which led to a hug between her and Ryan. But Greenlee pulled away and said, "I don't need hugs. I need to figure out what to do with my life." Ryan tried to assure Greenlee that she would figure it all out, which caused Greenlee to claim Ryan had ruined everything. Ryan told her she could hate him all she wanted, but he was glad to have rid her of David.
At ConFusion, Ryan told Jesse that he thought David was still in Pine Valley. The two decided it might be best to let things play out with the hope that David and Greenlee would make a mistake. Up at Fusion, Madison and Randi presented Greenlee with an idea for the business. Randi showed a picture of a castle to Greenlee, not knowing it was the site of Greenlee's wedding to Ryan. Greenlee said she hated the idea. Randi told her Erica had helped to formulate it. Madison said she knew what had happened at the castle, and wanted to make sure Greenlee was okay. Greenlee was rude, but later showed some compassion toward Madison until Madison questioned whether Greenlee really did hate Ryan. Greenlee deflected the question and sent Madison to do something else.
Back at the Chandler mansion, Annie asked Brooke to leave. Brooke agreed as long as Annie promised to take care of Adam and keep a close eye on Adam's health. Annie resented the idea that Brooke could be right about Adam. After Brooke left, Annie called Ryan and told him Emma wanted to spend the night with him. When Adam came back in, Annie told him that Ryan was coming to get Emma so they could be alone. Adam reminded Annie that Brooke was still in the house. Annie informed him that Brooke was going back to the hotel. An upset Adam told Annie to apologize to Brooke because he did not want her to leave. Annie discovered that Brooke was already gone, but told Adam the two of them could call her instead. As they left to call Brooke, David came out of the tunnels to steal some of their food. David was almost caught by Emma. Annie thought Emma ate the food, but Emma said she only had one grape. Before Annie could delve further into the issue, Ryan came in to pick up Emma. Ryan wondered why Annie lied to him about Emma wanting to spend the night with him. Annie admitted that she just wanted a night alone with Adam.
JR wanted to leave the hospital as soon as possible. Marissa begged him to stay calm and get some rest. Brooke visited and gave her cell phone number to Marissa in case she needed anything. As Brooke got ready to leave, JR called out to her. When Brooke came in, she informed JR and Marissa that Annie wanted her out of the mansion. JR was upset by Annie's actions. Brooke then received a message from Annie and Adam asking her to come back. JR begged Brooke to go. He said it would allow him to relax knowing that Adam was safer with Brooke in the house. Brooke agreed to go and stay there.
While they waited for Brooke's reply, Adam and Annie decided they would take a nap so Adam could get some rest. After Annie went upstairs, Adam began having more pain. He couldn't figure out what pills to take, eventually ending up on the couch in even more pain. He then looked up to see David, who had left the tunnels. David stood over Adam and said, "It looks like you're a dead man, Adam."
