All My Children Recaps
AMC Week of March 24, 2008
Monday
As they awaited transport to to federal prison, Carmen (a.k.a. Sugar) and Erica
got to know each other better. Zach and Kendall came by to see Erica off and La Kane gave Kendall advice about how to ignore Ryan and Aidan. After
Erica's emotional farewell to Kendall, Erica and Carmen were led off
together in handcuffs. In the van transporting them, Carmen told Erica about her louse of an ex, Mando.... Zach and Kendall went home and hit the sheets.... The van experienced a crash and skidded off the road.
Krystal and Angie tried to stay calm back at home while, at the airplane
hanger, Jesse challenged his tormentor to come forward. Frankie and Colby
made a break for it as shots rang out. Adam and Tad ran over to Colby and
Adam collapsed in tears, believing that she had been shot. Happily, she was
fine. Robert revealed himself and claimed that he was an FBI agent. Pointing at the corpse of one of his henchmen, he told Jesse that the dead guy was the guy who'd been after Jesse, Papel. Tad was shocked when Gardner's claims checked out. Jesse called Angie with the wonderful news that Frankie and he were safe and that their ordeal was over. The moment she heard his voice, she broke down in relieved sobs.... Derek introduced himself to Jesse and welcomed him back.... Adam, Colby, Frankie, Krystal and Angie convened at the Martin house. The group refused to serve Adam alcohol or fatty foods.
Jesse and Tad had warm reunions with their respective wives. Colby spotted
Robert lingering outside. Robert was giving an unseen someone an update on the situation and mentioned that "there might be some lingering suspicion."
On the way to the jail, Greenlee reassured Jack that she is over Ryan. Jack made the depth of his connection to Erica clear to Greenlee. Greens
ultimately helped lift Jack's spirits.
Tuesday
When the prison van got into an accident, Carmen grabbed some supplies from the unconscious guards and, handcuffed to Erica, dragged a protesting La Kane off with her. Erica begged Carmen to think about what she was doing; Carmen responded that she was and, if Erica tried to stop her from getting revenge on Mando, she would shoot Erica. They ran through the woods and found some temporary shelter, where La Kane continued to have little success
with her efforts to talk Carmen out of her dangerous scheme. When Carmen
fell asleep, Erica reached for the woman's weapon....
At Fusion, Annie and Greenlee (with help from Ryan and Aidan) worked to
solve the company's latest perfume crisis. Greens and Ryan secretly chatted about their "make Annie think Ryan's memories of Annie are returning" ploy, sparking Annie's suspicions. Annie confronted Greens about what she had helped Ryan remember; Greens scrambled to cover and ended up blurting out that she and Ryan had kissed. Before long, Annie figured out that Ryan
hadn't remembered a damn thing about her and stormed out. "You can both go to hell!" she barked on her way out. Ryan went after her. Aidan was disappointed in Greens and left, as well.... Back at the penthouse, Annie was unmoved by Ryan's attempts to explain what motivated his lies. After he left, Annie began drinking....
At home with Zach, Kendall bolted awake, convinced Erica was in some kind of trouble. The boys were roused by her cries, so Zach brought Spike and Ian in for a visit. Their quality family time was interrupted by a call from Derek. "She's missing," Derek confirmed to Kendall about Erica's condition. She called Greenlee, who said she'd be right there.
At the Valley Inn, Derek and Sam chatted about Erica's conviction. They got word that the van transporting Erica and Carmen had been in an accident and raced to the scene. Derek told a concerned Sam that Carmen was armed. Derek and Sam met up with Zach and Kendall, and later Aidan and Greenlee, at the police station.
Wednesday
Angie encouraged Jesse to believe that their ordeal was over and vowed to
help him through the strange transition back to reality. Jesse went to the police station with Angie, where his photo was hanging on the wall of fallen heroes. Derek noted that it was time to take the picture down. The officers gathered to applaud Jesse's return.
At the Chandler manse, Adam was bummed that it was safe for Krystal to
leave. Opal arrived to reunite with Tad. Tad was less than overjoyed when
Robert showed up. Rob said he was thinking about staying in Pine Valley....
Tad agreed to Opal's request that he keep an open mind about Robert.... JR
tried to stop Babe from moving out of the manse but had no luck. Colby
filled them in on her ordeal with the kidnappers. Colby's crush on Frankie
was obvious as she spoke about his heroics. Frankie dropped by with a
present for Colby; she was giddy.... Tad thanked Robert for helping to save his family.
At the police station, Zach, Greenlee and Kendall fretted about Erica's
disappearance. Sam tried to reassure them that Erica would be fine and
offered to do whatever he could to make sure La Kane got back safely.
Kendall spoke to the press about Erica and made a plea to Carmen to let her
mom go.
In the barn where they had found overnight shelter, Erica reached for
Carmen's gun but Carm snapped to and stopped her. Carmen told her about how her lousy ex, Mando, had set her up to be an unwitting accomplice in his bank robbery. Carmen dragged Erica at gunpoint to a convenience store, where they grabbed some supplies (and a few moments of Sam and Erica's press
conference). La Kane was able to use lipstick to leave a note with her name
and Zach's phone number. Carm then forced Erica onto a truck bound for
Chicago. The clerk found the note Erica had left behind and contacted Zach.
Thursday
Still handcuffed together, Erica and Carmen hid in the back of a truck bound for Chicago. Erica and Carmen traded stories (La Kane's flashback-filled) about their respective great loves gone sour — Erica's with Jack and Carmen's with Mando. After Erica's recap of her love affair with Jackson, Carmen noted that things are obviously not over between them. Carm didn't buy it when Erica insisted that she and Jack were a thing of the past. The ladies were buried in boxes when the truck hit a bump in the road.
At the police station, a huge manhunt was underway for Carmen and Erica. A
distressed Jack blamed Samuel for Erica's predicament. Sam was clearly quite concerned about Erica, as well. Zach did his best to play referee between the two men.
Ryan sought out Kendall at her place and confided in her as a friend about
how he had messed things up with Annie by lying to her about having
recovered memories of their life together. Kendall chided Ryan for his
deceit. The tension between Ryan and Zach was thick when Slater returned
home and found Ryan there.... Tad cautioned Aidan against getting in over his head where the constant drama of Ryan, Greenlee and Kendall was concerned.... Relations between Annie and Greenlee were very icy at the Fusion office. Annie made it quite clear to Greens that she was furious with her for meddling in her relationship with Ryan and convincing her husband to lie to her. Before the women parted ways, Annie pretended that she had forgiven Greenlee for her actions — but as soon as Greens left, Annie made it clear that she was still livid and planned to get revenge.
Friday
The truck carrying stowaways Erica and Carmen hit a bump, sending boxes tumbling over. They opened them up and found designer clothes inside. Carmen eagerly played dress-up and Erica was charmed by her enthusiasm. Carm promised Erica that she wouldn't harm her, but also refused to let La Kane go. Erica was alarmed when Carmen, hearing the truck's driver approaching, grabbed her gun.
Ryan confessed to Zach that he'd been faking the recovery of his memory.
Zach filled in some unpleasant blanks for Ryan by telling him about Ryan's
participation in the fight club. He showed Ryan a video of him nearly
striking Greenlee and demanding that she abort her pregnancy. He then took
Ryan to where he had driven his motorcycle over the cliff and faked his
death. Ryan couldn't believe had had been capable of such things. Zach told
Ryan to stay away from Kendall and Greenlee, then left Ryan alone on the
cliff.
Jesse came home as Angie was preparing a meal. Angie told Jesse that she didn't want him returning to the police force. They shared a meal and Angie became overwhelmed with emotion at having her family with Jesse intact again after so long. They made love. After, Angie told Jesse about Mrs. Remington's necklace, and Jesse's wheels started turning....
Opal took Robert to ConFusion and asked him if he knew anything about Erica. Opal was charmed by her ex-brother-in-law, who was clearly far more devious than Opal realized. Case in point? Rob's goon delivered the diamond taken from Mrs. Remington's necklace. Rob said his new friend Jesse was going to lead him to his next bounty.... Across the room, Greens and Kendall caught up on the latest in all matters Ryan. Kendall copped to liking the attention Ryan was showering upon her. The ladies ultimately agreed that they needed
to be careful where Ryan was concerned and not let him get in the way of their current relationships.
