AMC Week of June 8, 2009
Monday
Randi complained to Brot about Angie's decision not to come to Germany. A despondent Frank watched her cry on Brot's shoulder. Randi reentered the room and tried to get through to a resistant Frankie. Randi threatened to count to ten and then leave. She had flashbacks of her life with Frank as
she counted. Brot strongly urged Frank to go after his wife. Frank insisted that he didn't want to and continued to grouse about how his life is over. Brot pointed out that they are both lucky to be alive. Frank begged Brot to drop it. "If you do this, you'll regret it for the rest of your life," Brot said forcefully. Brot said that he was determined to stop Frank from making the biggest mistake of his life. Randi, meanwhile, prepared to return to Pine Valley alone.
Marissa blasted JR for making David's life harder. JR ranted about what a slimeball David is. Scott defended Marissa to JR, who advised Scott to tell Marissa to leave town.
In Annie's hospital room, Adam defended Annie to Ryan. Annie confirmed to the men that she saw David at the mansion on the night of the murder. After Ryan left, Adam accepted Annie's condolences about Stuart. Adam reiterated
his vow to help her get the charges dropped and get Emma back. Annie was thrilled. Adam described Annie as his guardian angel and held her hand as she slept. Aidan was none too thrilled when he entered to that sight.
At the mansion, Jack and Jesse oversaw a new forensics sweep of the crime scene. A cop reported to Jesse that he found a footprint. JR and Scott entered and Jesse asked them what size show they wear. JR was convinced that the footprint belonged to David.
In Ian's hospital room with Zach and David, Kendall recalled that she tripped over David on the night of the murder. David denied it and decided to remove himself from Ian's case. After David left, Ryan came in and told the Slaters that Annie also saw David at the mansion that night. They met up
with Jesse and told him about the two witnesses to David's presence at the manse. Jesse noted that the footprint doesn't necessarily belong to the killer. Kendall, Zach and Ryan discussed whether this was the break they had been waiting for.
David returned to Wildwind and told Marissa that he was leaving town. David explained that the cops were going to try to pin Stuart's murder on him. Marissa told David that she wasn't going to leave him and tried to talk him out of running. He thanked her for offering to help. JR and Scott then barged in and had a physical confrontation with David as he bolted. Jesse entered and put an APB out on David, which he quickly cancelled because David returned unexpectedly. David said that he had come back for Marissa.
Tuesday
Aidan was upset to find Adam in Annie's room. Adam refused to leave but Aidan did ultimately get his desired alone time with Annie. Annie told Aidan that she didn't want him to have to wait for her and that she was making the
decision for him that it was over. She had a guard escort him out. Later, Annie was gripped by pain and called out for an officer. She went in search of aid and found her guard asleep. She eyed his gun.
Krystal told Angie that she is living with Tad.
JR urged Jesse to arrest David. Jesse told Scott to take JR away so that he could question David about the night of Stuart's murder. Marissa called Krystal and urged her to come to Wildwind. Jesse brought David to the police station for questioning. Scott defended Marissa to JR, who berated her for not wanting to run in the opposite direction from her father.
In Ian's room, Ryan, Zach and Kendall discussed her case. Kendall was scared that she might be facing the death penalty. Zach urged her to go see Spike, so she and Ryan left. They overheard the tail end of Krystal's phone call with Marissa, in which Krystal made a comment about David getting away with killing Stuart. Ryan and Kendall filled in Zach and Zach and Ryan decided to go speak to D.A. North. The D.A. Sarcastically congratulated Zach on his marriage and expressed a complete lack of interest in pursuing David as a suspect. Back at the hospital, Angie and Kendall discussed their mutual desire to see David go to prison. Angie introduced Kendall to a new doctor for Ian. Ryan and Zach returned to break the bad news about North to Kendall but Angie interrupted with good news about Ian: He was strong enough for another surgery. Kendall and Zach embraced; odd man out Ryan observed their closeness.
Jake joined Amanda at the yacht club, while Liza met Colby there for a meal. Colby told Liza that she wanted to move out of the mansion and Liza got the wrong idea (that Colby wanted to move in with her). Colby explained that she wanted to move into an apartment with Corrina and hoped that Liza could help her out with the deposit. Liza agreed, then approached Jake and Amanda. She and Jake briefly discussed their plan before Liza left. Krystal showed up and told Jake and Amanda about David being brought in for questioning. Liza went to the police station to serve as David's attorney. She introduced herself to Marissa then went to talk to David, who was surprised to see her. Jesse and the D.A. Entered. North announced that the footprint on the estate was a match for David's shoe. David said that he would tell them everything they wanted to know.
Marissa was happily surprised when Krystal came to the station. Krystal reiterated her concern over Marissa's interest in David.
Colby returned home to pack. Adam discovered her and Colby confronted him about the letters. As she stormed out, JR returned home. JR supported Colby's decision to move out. Before she left, Adam told Colby that she would always have a home and a father who loves her. Adam lamented to JR that everyone he loves leaves him.
Amanda celebrated the notion that David might go to jail. Impulsively, Jake asked Amanda to marry him. She said yes; they kissed.
Wednesday
Jake and Amanda got engaged at the yacht club. They returned home, where Tad and Opal were watching static on the TV (Tad was training for being unable to figure out how to use the digital converter box.) They shared their good news with Opal and Tad. Jake asked Tad to perform the ceremony. Tad quickly got certified online as a minister. Opal gave Amanda a bouquet and helped her with her makeup. Amanda and Jake smooched until Tad interrupted to get the ceremony underway.
Jesse grilled David at the police station as D.A. North and Liza observed. David said that he was present when Stuart died and that he'd seen Kendall at the scene. Jesse didn't buy David's account and speculated that David was the killer. David professed his innocence but admitted that he had attempted to find a good vantage point from which to shoot Adam. "Someone else beat me to it," he said. He then divulged that he had seen Liza standing over Stuart's dead body. Liza told Jesse her story and promised to show him the
letters she had taken from Stuart's pocket. North pressed Liza to admit that she had indeed seen Kendall on the terrace that night.
Zach and Kendall embraced when they got word that Ian's condition had improved. Erica arrived and heard the good news. Ryan slipped out. After Angie excused herself, Kendall noticed Ryan's absence. Erica went to look for him. She found him in the waiting room and Ryan accused La Kane of
trying once again to interfere in his relationship with Kendall. Meanwhile, Zach assured Kendall that she would be around to watch Ian grow up. Ian was wheeled into surgery while Erica reported to Kendall that Ryan had taken Spike back to the penthouse. Kendall and Zach discussed North's determination to make her pay for Stuart's murder. Zach explained that North wanted a conviction to boost his own career. Zach assured Kendall that he knows that she's innocent but she remained afraid of a possible conviction. Zach urged her to stay strong.
Annie spotted her sleeping guard's gun. She jolted him awake and asked him to summon a nurse as she nearly collapsed in pain. Aidan assisted Annie, who was going into shock and couldn't answer Aidan's questions about why she didn't take the opportunity to escape.
JR told Adam that David had been brought in for questioning. Adam praised Annie for having saved his life. "You have the hots for a psycho," JR accused. Adam denied it. When he got word that Annie had collapsed, Adam raced to the hospital. When Erica saw him, she reeled from Adam's
announcement that he was there to see Annie, not Ian.... Aidan got an update on Annie's condition from Angie. Adam went in to see Annie as Aidan and JR discussed Adam's nascent obsession with Annie. Angie brought in antibiotics
for Annie's infection. Adam demanded that every physician on staff tend to Annie. A wan Annie expressed her gratitude. Erica asked why JR was so worked up. "My father's obsessed with Annie," seethed JR. Erica was certain that Adam would end up getting hurt.... Aidan confirmed to Ryan that Annie had dumped him in favor of Adam. Aidan told Ryan that Annie is crazier than ever and shouldn't be released. Ryan was dubious.... Other doctors backed up Angie's recommended course of treatment.... Aidan sat at the bedside of a feverish Annie, of whom he remained suspicious.... Erica asked to speak to Adam alone. She confronted him about Annie and he grumbled that everyone should mind their own business.
David walked in to the Martins', interrupting the Jake/Amanda nuptials.
Thursday
The D.A. told Liza that he needed her to confirm her original statement
about seeing Kendall at the house on the night of the murder. Liza refused.
Marissa heard the tail end of Liza and Jesse's subsequent conversation and
accused Liza of having taken David's case in order to throw it, which Liza
denied. Marissa threatened to have Liza removed as David's attorney.
David barged in as Tad was conducing Jake and Amanda's wedding ceremony. A
brawl broke out, which Krystal walked in on. Tad decked David, who fell to
the floor. Tad tied David up and resumed the ceremony. When David wouldn't
shut up, Opal gagged him. Without further ado, Jake and Amanda exchanged
vows. Opal, Tad and Krystal congratulated the newlyweds. Tad removed David's
gag and Hayward ranted about how his child would not be raised under a
Martin roof. Krystal defended Jake and Amanda to David. Marissa entered
during their argument and rushed to untie her father. She was disgusted with
the Martins' behavior and Krystal asked to speak to her privately. Krystal
again beseeched Marissa not to get sucked into David's web. Marissa said
that she didn't want to hear it, insisting that she sees the good in her
father. Jake and Amanda added their own anti-David warnings, to which
Marissa turned a deaf ear before leaving. "It's her choice," Tad reminded a
crestfallen Krystal.
Erica approached Ryan about Annie. Their conversation about Annie and Adam
was cut short when La Kane got a call about Ian's successful surgery.
Kendall and Zach celebrated when they got the news that Ian was in recovery.
They ended up in a passionate kiss. They pulled away and Kendall pronounced
it weird. Zach stressed that they were married only on paper. They were both
clearly flustered. Erica showed up and was pleased to see the Slaters
seeming so close. Jesse came by to inform Zach of David's release. Zach was
shocked to learn that Liza was serving as David's lawyer. She arrived and
told Zach that the circumstances are not what he thinks they are. Zach
warned Liza that he would reveal that she's not really pregnant if she
placed Kendall at the scene of the crime. Zach told Ian that everything
would be okay.... David saw Liza at the hospital and she insisted to him
that she's impartial and not trying to throw him under the bus. He got rough
with her and she fell into a gurney. He asked if she was okay and if the
baby was okay; she ordered him to stay away from her and the baby and rushed
off.
Angie came into Annie's room and told her that she would be fine soon. Once
alone with Aidan, she felt like she was on the road to redemption. A
frustrated Aidan encountered Erica in the hallway and claimed that he wanted
Annie in jail just as much as she does. Erica didn't buy that Aidan was done
with Annie. Erica didn't want Adam taken advantage of by Annie and urged
Aidan to keep Annie away from her ex-husband. Countered Aidan, "You should
tell Adam to back off." Erica went to see Annie in her room and snarkily
observed that it hurts to be stabbed. Annie apologized for having stabbed
Erica. Annie said that she now had a reason to want to heal. Erica told
Annie that Adam wouldn't be enough reason once she's in prison.
Kendall went to Greenlee's penthouse and found Jack there, packing up his
daughter's stuff. Jack warned Kendall that David had been released and that
Kendall remained the number one suspect. Kendall stayed behind after Jack
left and spoke to a picture of Greenlee about the state of her life,
acknowledging her guilt over having gotten together with Ryan. She also
confided that she had kissed Zach and that it had felt good. She asked
Greens for a sign and just then, Ryan entered. He admitted that he hadn't
been able to let Greenlee go. She admitted that she couldn't let go of Zach,
either.
Friday
Jake and Amanda arrived in Barbados for their honeymoon and prepared for her
scheduled birth for the next day. Jake hid from Amanda that he had missed
multiple calls from Liza. Amanda lamented that she and Jake could not raise
her baby.
Marissa encountered Little Adam at Babe's grave. JR wasn't happy to see her
there. Marissa defended David to JR then offered comfort to Little Adam. JR
was impressed by how she handled the boy.
Aidan visited Annie in her hospital room. Annie made it clear that she had
no interest in recovering and being sent back to jail.
At home, Kendall was thinking about Ryan and Zach when Spike woke her up.
Ryan brought an ill Emma in to the hospital. Neither he nor Ryan knew where
Kendall was. Jack showed up looking for her, as well. Jack told Zach that he
recommended a temporary insanity defense. Kendall arrived in time to hear
Zach say that that wasn't going to happen. Jack was pleased that Kendall
didn't want to plead guilty and promised to go toe to toe with the
prosecution. Zach told Kendall that he couldn't let her be away from the
boys and she pronounced him to be an amazing man. Kendall wanted to discuss
their kiss but Zach wanted to avoid the subject.
Angie pronounced Emma in perfect health but Emma insisted that she didn't
feel well. Aidan approached Emma and tried to get her to tell Annie a secret
in exchange for getting Annie to tell her one. Ryan walked up and deduced
that Emma had been faking sick in order to see her mom. Ryan said that she
couldn't see Annie right now. Aidan went to grab Annie so that she could see
Emma before Ryan took her home. Emma was overjoyed to see her mom and
admitted to Annie that she didn't really have a tummy ache. Annie admitted
her own secret: that she had a guardian angel who would bring her home to
Emma.
Tad and Krystal told Liza about Jake and Amanda marrying. She was stunned to
hear that David had been present as a witness. David entered and vowed to
track Amanda down and get his baby. Tad was curious about why Liza was so
interested in Jake's whereabouts. Liza sidestepped his questions and was
relieved when Jake called to tell her that everything was going according to
plan. She warned Jake that David was on his tail. Back in Barbados, Jake
deduced that Amanda was in labor. At the hospital, Jake made plans for what
would happen to the baby after it was born. The doctor warned him that it
was too late for a C-section, which gave Jake pause as Amanda hadn't wanted
to see the baby. There was a complication during the birth (the baby's
umbilical cord was wrapped around its neck). Jake stepped in and the baby
was delivered successfully. Amanda asked to see the baby. Amanda held the
little boy, to whom she was clearly bonded.... Liza and Tad played darts and
caught up. Tad threw a dart directly into Liza's faux baby bump.... Jake
came back into Amanda's room to take the baby. "I can't," wept Amanda. "I
can't give my baby away."
Krystal interrupted Marissa, JR and Little Adam's meal at the yacht club in
order to enlist Marissa's help in stopping David from going after Jake and
Amanda. Back at Wildwind, David ordered his minions to find Jake and Amanda.
When Marissa entered, she tried to get him not to go after the newlyweds.
Marissa noted that David's attitude had cost him much in Pine Valley and
that Jake and Amanda could give the baby a good life. David got word of Jake
and Amanda's whereabouts. Marissa challenged him to be the good David, not
the bad one.
